Reviews for The Hamilton

Review 1:when we arrived there was hairs in the bath but was soon put right after we told the owner. The cleaning was a bit hit and miss in our room. My only fault that you have to order evening meals before 12 noon which we found disappointing as we went out one day and forgot to order only to be told when we got back that they had nothing in to make us a meal.

Review 2:we had a large sea view room. bottle water in room which was a nice touch. Breakfast good plenty of choice which was cooked to order.

Review 3:The couple we stayed with had a leaking toilet and we think the staff had time to mend it while we were out during the day. The staff seemed to be in a hurry while serving food, i.e. we hadn't finished our cereal when they bought our cooked food, hence cold bacon and eggs. Also coffee "slopped" into the cup and then over-flowed into the saucer, very sloppy!! The shower curtain was too short, so the floor got wet when the shower was running.

Review 4:We found the staff friendly on a whole.

Review 5:Value for money, good location, excellent breakfast, staff very accommodating. Great Yarmouth is a great place to recapture Seaside holidays from my youth...I am 70.

Review 6:Wonderful bed and breakfast, no complaints what so ever. Staff were on the ball, friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was yummy and they even catered for extras. Room was clean and tidy, airy and just right for me and a young child. Location is a stones throw away from the beach. Most importantly.. Manager was lovely, thank you

Review 7:The bathroom was to small, may aswell have been sat on the bed to go to the toilet, the car park is to tight to get in and out of comfortably but all in all, was a nice hotel.

Review 8:Loved the location, right on the seafront, walking distance to the shops, was okay for one night.

Review 9:We had a basic room which was ok for the weekend but the bed was quite uncomfortable and the bathroom was very small

Review 10:The staff were very friendly and so helpful which was brilliant with a young child. It was a really nice hotel and would stay again.

Review 11:Compact double room. It is exactly as described. To be totally fair we were offered an upgrade prior to the visit and we chose to stick with the compact double. If staying more than two nights I would avoid the compact double.

Review 12:Free easy car parking; great beach front location; excellent breakfast all cooked to your preference; really good value for money in August

Review 13:Interior walls paper thin. Our bedheads were adjacent to a bathroom which seemed to be used throughout the night. Wifi useless, constant buffering.

Review 14:Friendly, helpful staff with a good breakfast to start the day

Review 15:The room was rather small but we were only staying for a night so no real problem, merely an observation. The gas repair man blocked the exit/entry to the car park with his van and I was unable to get my car out when I needed to leave.

Review 16:The staff were friendly and welcoming, the breakfast was delicious and a great start to the day. I would definitely stay here again.

Review 17:Dirty shower curtain and bathroom was dusty. Room very very small, pillows were almost crunchy and of bad quality and apparently we had been upgraded for free?

Review 18:Location fairly good, not far from the pier, extra top ups of tea and coffee was great. Rooms fairly decorated

Review 19:I requested our rooms to be next to each other, as we needed 2 separate rooms..I was told that yes our rooms are next to each other.. yet it didnt happen on our check in day. I will appreciate it more if I was informed beforehand about this situation..

Review 20:Staff are friendly..clean.. comfortable rooms..

Review 21:A very enjoyable stay, with a very good welcome from the Owner. Had a sea view which was a bonus and set my alarm clock for 5am to watch the most beautiful sunrise. After a hearty breakfast left for onwards travels. I would stay at the Hamilton again.

Review 22:Very hospitable manager, excellent in his approach to any needs. excellent breakfast and dealt with my wife's dairy free diet. will not hesitate to return.

Review 23:That we couldn't stay longer.

Review 24:The manager and his daughter were lovely extremely helpful and very accomadating, will definitely going back and will recommend to friends and family.

Review 25:En suite had cracked tiles.toilet cistern top did not fit. Very small.for a supposed superior room it was small.but did have a nice view of the sea.

Review 26:Situated on the sea front close to the amenities

Review 27:we had 3 rooms 2 of which were not too bad, big enough front view etc the third however was ultra compact hardly big enough for the one stopping there even though it was supposed to be a double. The shower in the larger of the 3 rooms was a mixer type and made for a decent shower however the other two had electric ones which are fixed too high for shorter people to operate and produced hot water at a very slow rate. The whole place could do with a full redecorate too, loose bathroom tiles peeling wallpaper etc along with better cleaning between guests as there were quite a lot of different hairs still in the bathroom when we first got there. Thicker curtains or blackout liners would be nice too as the front rooms we were in were lit all night by the street lamps outside and floodlit at the break of dawn. Its not a place I wouldn't stop in again but it would not be my first choice

Review 28:Location was good far enough out of the way of crowds but still close enough to push a wheelchair to the centre, breakfast was enough to get you going in the day and was quickly served all the staff were pleasant enough and helpful

Review 29:shower in bathroom of family room was just a shower tray with a curtain which was too short. floor got soaked with four of us showering.

Review 30:about the going price. very clean. friendly staff. room good size and staff were very accommodating when we added an extra person.

Review 31:Wished for more privacy, i.e. Net curtains at windows, very open picture window, anyone walking by able to see right through.

Review 32:Location of hotel ideal, quiet end of Yarmouth away from busy centre

Review 33:The £95 charge when we booked for a £55 room. We got the executive suit for the £55 but would be disappointed if we had paid 95 for it. You can get in the Halton or marriot for that!

Review 34:On the sea front

Review 35:the internet connection or getting online was very poor also we had problems with the shower as it went cold within a minute not good but we managed and had a wash instead.

Review 36:I like the staff they were friendly all the time and were willing to help with our needs the bed was so comfortable

Review 37:We were made to feel very welcome by the owners, got some great advice about the local area and a lovely breakfast. Great for a classic seaside weekender, will be back in summer when the weather is nicer!

Review 38:The room we booked was not available so had to down grade. We did pay less but had that opt when booking but wanted a sea view. Our view was an old peoples residential home. Was woken up at 7:30 by noise of next doors shower and water heater.

Review 39:Breakfast was really nice and staff were helpful and pleasant. My partner didn't make breakfast so they made him a bacon sandwich that I took to him in the room.

Review 40:very nice staff we only had a short stay 2 nights , breakfast was good and plenty of choices will uses again next time we are in town, nice room overlooking the sea

Review 41:Owner very scruffy(as the saying goes first impressions are important), staff sat on stairs on mobile phone (think she was a cleaner, had to ask where our room was as wasn't told or shown, Strange guests who try and enter your room, room very basic and just awful meant to be staying for 2 nights walked out after 10 minutes of being there meant to be 4star wouldn't even give it 1.

Review 42:Nothing

Review 43:No blackout curtains at window, not much sound proofing between rooms. Breakfast too late to start, and not on for long enough. Rather have help yourself coffee.

Review 44:In a quieter area, reasonable breakfast

Review 45:The room was tiny think they given our room that was booked to someone else as booked a family room with a cot in and was a tiny box room which you couldn't move about in. Had to get a cot put in after arrival then it was squeezed in to fit around us.

Review 46:It was on the seafront

Review 47:the weather the week I went was mostly rain !!

Review 48:Liked the location, plenty of room to park car off street. Hotel was old style but lovely and comfortable. Dinning room was lovely very pleasant and staff could not be more helpful. polite always have a smile excellent service. Breakfast good choice of excellent food evening meal all home cooked , lovely will definatly be staying again

Review 49:Tinned tomatoes-absolutely hate and no need for this. Hotel seems obsessed with all double glazing widows locked so no fresh air in the rooms

Review 50:Quite at night and no noise from main road thanks to double glazing. Good breakfast except for tinned tomatoes!

Review 51:Scruffy staff and outside area littered with cigarette ends, all a bit careless.

Review 52:Large room with good seaviews and large bathroom, comfy sofa. Good breakfast.

Review 53:The breakfast was good apart from the sausage it left a very nasty taste in your mouth.

Review 54:the owners and staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable the only issue is if you go for the small double it is very small the shower room is very tight apart from that it was a very pleasant experiance.

Review 55:Our room a superior double did seen quite small compared to other four star rated we have stayed in also furniture mismatched didn't seem like a recently renovated room really .

Review 56:We liked the friendliness of the staff .The bed was so comfy , and lovely views from our window .

Review 57:Can't think of anything.

Review 58:The breakfasts in particular were excellent, huge choice, quality sausage & bacon and plenty of it! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. On arrival we had been upgraded to lovely sea view double rooms for no extra cost. Would definitely stay again.

Review 59:Only minor I think the hotel could of improve on is how my shower in my room kept turning from hot to cold but only a very small minor.

Review 60:I liked that every morning I was given a good sized breakfast. Very good location as only a short walk to the britannia pier and also the main centre with shops. Staff very helpful towards us and other stayers at the hotel. Room was well presented when we arrived at the hotel and was ready before we was due to arrive. Really clean hotel and can't hear any noises even though on main road.

Review 61:breakfast times on week days not long enough.

Review 62:staff was pleasant and helpful. breakfast was very good. location was excellent. could not have ask for better.

Review 63:The toilet wasn't fixed down so it moved with you, bit like surfing, bathroom needs upgrade, shower temp was all over the place, curtains not lined so bright first thing - no fun with a 2-year-old

Review 64:Staff, full English breakfast, the room was facing the beach/sea, clean, good TV lounge, modern bar

Review 65:Our room was on the top floor, nothing like the description in booking .com photos. The hotel was rated 4star by AA ,I would shudder to think what a 2 star is like. We stayed 3 nights without bed being made up once. The walls were so thin you could hear the occupant of the next room snoring every night. The electric socket was an extension lead on the floor. The shower holder fell off the wall so had to be hand held.Sorry but would not return to this hotel again

Review 66:Breakfast Location

Review 67:Room very small.Smell from sink and shower/No View.Screamiong from old peoples home next door.Very diofficult to park behind hotel

Review 68:Breakfast was good and speedily served

Review 69:Room very hot, no fan. No net curtains -ground floor room with large window, so curtains had to be drawn Bed very low and soft

Review 70:Location Big room Comfortable bar area Car parking on site

Review 71:Just to be picky, the reception area was cluttered with leaflets.

Review 72:Great location, far enough away from the centre, helpful staff. Great recommendation for dinner. The room was clean.

Review 73:The hotel was quite noisey we didn't have a good nights sleep, kettle and shower head didn't work, Wifi didn't work because we were at the back of the hotel when we got told it would work. An overall ok experience but not great.
