Reviews for The Inn on Loch Lomond

Review 1:We were upgraded and had great bedrooms with superb views down Loch Lomond. Nice to have the use of the spa after a long drive. Good evening meal, comfortable surroundings.

Review 2:The food at the hotel wasn't up to much and my partner asked for a steak well done to be given it pink in the middle! The breakfast and tea/coffees served in the morning weren't hot and I would say like warm!

Review 3:The rooms were lovely clean and very spacious my only fault was we didn't have much of a view being at the back of the beach house!

Review 4:Could do with a more thorough clean , especially in the public restrooms . Also the elderly receptionist upon check out could do with a course in customer service . Rude to all who checked out on the same morning as us . Wrong side of the bed that day perhaps .

Review 5:Lovely sized room , very good value for money .

Review 6:The food was awful , overbooked allocated eating times , total unable to cope with large booking restaurant full . Have stayed and eaten there before and recommend to everyone I know as food had been outstanding in the past . Would not recommend food to anyone .

Review 7:Check-in took an eternity. Staff very lackadaisical. Arranged for early departure breakfast pack - one short. Dinner menu really a pub menu

Review 8:Very nice executive rooms

Review 9:Bit slow checking in. Drink prices were a bit expensive. Food was over priced for what you got. Maybe not a 4 star based on a few things but nice apart from that.

Review 10:We travelled with our dog. Room was very spacious. Right next to the loch. Cozy bar with an amazing choice of whiskies.

Review 11:The facilities were terrible in our room, wallpaper damaged, uneven tiles in the bathroom which are little things that could be easily rectified and should NOT happen in a so called 4 star hotel. The floor creaked with every movement and as we were over the bar we could here the music downstairs in the bar till 11.20am even though it was supposed to finish at 11. Even though we booked the standard room it was incredibly expensive considering the imperfections in the room. I could go on but better to read the reviews from other sites

Review 12:Location was ok view over the loch although not from our room. Close to Glasgow.

Review 13:Leaky sink plumbing, crayon on walls, food was overpriced, restaurant toilets a bit scruffy. Can't see that it's 4 star AA. 3 stars yes.

Review 14:Nice decor, food and comfort

Review 15:No bad comments

Review 16:The entire stay was brilliant, staff were friendly and nothing was any hassle. Memories of our visit will stay with us forever beautiful scenery, comfortable spotless rooms and entertainment both nights was great.

Review 17:Very sparce bedroom, no pictures, no cupboard space only 3 coat hangers for a couple staying 3 nights.why does the cleaner have to clean the reception area at 9am with a bucket and mop when on there own admission this is there busiest time

Review 18:Big bedroom, great views and modern bathroom.

Review 19:There wasn't anything we didn't like about the hotel

Review 20:Everything was great, the room. Staff and food was all excellent and the location was great with stunning views of the loch

Review 21:Leaving to go home!

Review 22:Fantastic location and very helpful staff. The Whiskey bar was brilliant and Sean behind the bar is a huge asset to that establishment. All in all a perfect place to stay. Thank you

Review 23:We where in Room 1 at app 6am kitchen staff outside door talking and oking. Then app 7 am a large delivery truck turned up making a lot of noise unloading goods

Review 24:Friendly staff

Review 25:WiFi wasn't the strongest and for business use it sometimes struggled to maintain connectivity.

Review 26:The hotel in general is in a good location across the road from Loch Lomond. The hotel was clean and the food was great.

Review 27:We stayed in the lodge on the Loch. My only comment would be the lane from the hotel down to the accommodation was poorly lit.

Review 28:Very welcoming hotel, the food was excellent !

Review 29:Walls a little thin but not really a problem as the bar didn't stay open late. Breakfast was a little average but there was plenty of it.

Review 30:Easy to get to, next to the loch, friendly staff, comfortable bed, nice bathroom. Evening meal tasty and reasonably priced (large portions).

Review 31:Noise from below bar and restaurant during evening. No service for breakfast and so rather disappointed with choice as only egg was scramble.

Review 32:Excellent for catering for dog. Good situation and access.

Review 33:very poor value for money and the cleanliness of the beach house was appalling. The place in general could be doing with a complete facelift and some TLC. If you want a level of quality look elsewhere!

Review 34:Location was good as it allowed you to explore the loch area and surrounding places.

Review 35:We stayed in a room in the beach house which was very disappointing.Damp musty smell in room. Black mould round window frames. Grouting in shower was dirty as was the shower mat..No fridge in room. Cold plates and food at breakfast.

Review 36:The bar food was good but expensive.

Review 37:The breakfast was of a very poor quality, bacon covered in white scum Black pudding was inedible, rubber tatty scone just poor. And I was so looking forward to breakfasts. The table's in the dining room were all chipped and deeply scored not fit for a 4* As for the room, the coffee table is a disgrace, no heating that worked in toilet, the road noise was so bad. decent Double glazing required. The carpet in the hallway is disgusting

Review 38:The wether

Review 39:The location of the hotel isn't ideal and if I'd realised this I would have book at Lodge on Loch Lomond as this has all the facilities and access to the loch.

Review 40:The bar was excellent with a pretty good atmosphere for a hotel bar. Good range of whiskies and very friendly service.

Review 41:Everything was great, only comment would be that it a bit pricey, but the view, the food and the staff made it all worthwhile.

Review 42:The staff is excellent, they are friendly and going out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Great hotel for travelling with pets, they are not confined to the room only.

Review 43:There was nothing to dislike in the hotel. we had a great stay with very friendly staff, gfreat accomadation and the breakfast was to die for, thanks for everything, we will be back.

Review 44:the t.v.was an experience as the channels did not correspond with the nos on the remote and the menu ws in italian. not everybody travels ewith an army of digital devices.

Review 45:the quiet serenity of the hotel and the unobtrusiveness of the staff

Review 46:Just an observation - a little damp in the bathroom that would be very easily sorted and would enhance the overall impression of the accommodation.

Review 47:The Beach House room 304 was a lovely modern, comfortable and spacious room. The food in the bar was also tasty and the place had a nice, cosy atmosphere.

Review 48:It is the first hotel I've stayed in that did not have a seating area that was quiet. Every available table ....and there were many, had a knife & fork on it. The tables were ' sticky ' There was a TV in both restaurants and bars. The breakfast had a reasonable selection but the quality of the hot food was poor.

Review 49:Its proximity to Luss allowed us to travel to this absolutely beautiful village.

Review 50:I got the initial impression from adverts that this hotel was actually on the side of the loch. Probably my fault. it would have been nice for easy access to the loch for walks (if it had not been wet)

Review 51:View of the loch - when the mist cleared. The spaciou car par. The staff were very good

Review 52:Heat in bar area - far too high.

Review 53:Very nice 4* inn with slight loch views - well appointed bar and restaraunt area. Great menu. Very clean and nice looking room and bathroom. Rather warm in all areas - mild for time of year so think they set it expecting it to be cold! Very much enjoyed stay here. Use of pool etc for a fee up road which didn't appear to mention upon booking which was a shame. Decent buffet style breakfast

Review 54:We had a special price for our stay for one night. The booking system was down but the staff rallied together to make sure we were well looked after and upgraded us to a loch view room, providing a free drink at the bar while we waited for the problem to be rectified. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, the bathroom well appointed and the view of the loch fantastic.

Review 55:Stairs - lots of; & no lift. Nowhere in room or shower to put anything - no shelves or hooks. (Bring a hammer and a box a 4" nails.)

Review 56:Great views over the loch. Food delicious and served fast and well. Huge portions! Great staff.

Review 57:Nothing to report

Review 58:Great room, great food, price of food, pleasant staff and of course our small Dog was allowed to stay. Will definitely stay there again.

Review 59:Nothing

Review 60:Linda on reception was brilliant. We stopped in the beach house suite. It was gorgeous , clean and well equipped. I woke up to an orange room as the sun riise over the Loch. Great meal - good value well cooked pub grub. Served by 2 attentive and smashing young men Wouldn't hesitate to return

Review 61:The furnishings in the room were a bit dated and not very well laid out. e.g. the TV was mounted to the wall and at an awkward angle from the bed. The room was designed for wheelchair access but not very comfortable if you don't have any need for a wheelchair.

Review 62:The staff were friendly and the food was good. The wifi worked well.

Review 63:Friendly staff, clean rooms, good shower, great location. Good breakfast and good dinner, better than the average pub food. Well cooked and presented nicely.

Review 64:Pets in restaurant and signs of pets in rooms by slight odour....not a fan!

Review 65:Excellent location. Staff where very pleasant and helpful. Beach house rooms have beautiful views on edge of loch.

Review 66:Staff in particular a bar manager came across rude - almost as if wewere in the way and were too much trouble - I am English and my sisterin law with me is Scottish the bar manager inferred he could understandwhat she said but not her English speaking husband he should make nocomment about paying guests, indeed he ought to be careful in thisdiverse world - (there were 8 of us staying that evening)

Review 67:Location was amazing though the road was noisy - plenty of carpark space

Review 68:we went to bed early to get an early start to our tour .wakened by noisey residents going to their rooms a couple of times. apart from that everything was perfect . cant fault the hotel on anything .

Review 69:very good staff. tentative and courteous. very good evening meal and breakfast . we had a great stay . we were treated like being part of the family . would highly recommend this hotel.

Review 70:We are a mature couple not old, given a disabled ground floor room, which was not in main building. Looked and felt well used, the ensuite had a concrete floor very cold and felt like a prison cell...not at all what we expected for the money. The food in the restaurant was extremely poor, the batter on the fish for £16.95 each was so thick with grease and smelt like it hadnt been changed in weeks. one espresso coffee charged at £3.99 on first night, ridiculously over charged. Overall experience of room and restaurant very poor.

Review 71:Location and friendly staff.

Review 72:Out stay at the Inn in Loch Lomand was comfortable. The Inn is right on the lake and our room had a lovely view from the large window. The room was modern and comfortable although quite small. Staff were friendly but were not able to give us much information about activities in the area.

Review 73:Breakfast was appalling - it was chaotic, poor quality, and the sense that the staff didn't care in the least. Was expecting a good Scottish breakfast after the quality of the food the night before, but was incredibly disappointing. I think they had run out of pretty much everything as different cooked foods were being topped up sporadically (and hilariously, from old plastic containers!) When I and a woman on a nearby table both asked them if there would be any grilled tomatoes, they said it'd take 10 minutes, then brought us half a tomato each... Everything that was in the warmers looked pretty rubbery, and yet there were just a handful of people in the breakfast room. Surely would make more sense just to cook to order when so quiet? Also there was no hot water for the duration of our stay - the boiler was broken and couldn't be fixed before we left. They did offer us to use the shower in the other hotel, just a short drive/walk away, and upon request they gave us a 25% discount on the room rate. But not being able to have a nice hot shower or bath in our own space did rather spoil the luxury of the stay.

Review 74:We stayed in one of the beach house rooms which was huge and had a superb view over Loch Lomond. There was a French window with our own little patio area - sadly we couldn't get the window to open so we couldn't sit out, but sitting inside at the little table by the window view was very lovely. The bed was very comfortable and whilst it's pretty close to the road, I wasn't disturbed by traffic noise. We had fish & chips at the restaurant and the meal, wine and service were very good.

Review 75:Bedroom rather small.. Only one chair for two of us.. Broken blind in bathroom

Review 76:The best part was the location - just a short underpass to the banks of Loch Lomond..

Review 77:We enjoyed two nights in The Beach House that is separate from the main hotel. We were practically on the water's edge where we were spoiled with the views of Loch Lomond. The garden area was super with access to the pathway providing long walks along the edge of the loch. The hotel staff were friendly and pleasant too. A great little find!

Review 78:Room wasn't very clean ,wall behind bed covered in layer thick dust as was skirting ,was told it would be deep cleaned while we went out ,came back and skirting cleaned but wall behind bed not ,landed cleaning it myself with soap and towel .pverall decor. Tired and a bit grubby

Review 79:Staff excellent , very helpful after initial problem .food was excellent ,

Review 80:We stayed in the outbuilding by the loch which was lovely, but we were upstairs and the floor boards were so loud and creaky that the guy downstairs kept banging on the wall every time we moved about. I'm sure it was worse for him but not what you want when trying to relax.

Review 81:Location was good, staff were excellent and very helpful

Review 82:As dog owners we appreciate being accommodated, however the room for dog owners is obviously also the room used for disabled patrons and had an overpowering smell of cleaning products, but on the other hand was comfortable for a one night stop over. The restaurant allowed dogs in a designated area but was tucked around a corner so we had little or no interaction with other guests and on both occasions we were forgotten about with our food order. Agin though the food was good and the young lad who served us on the second stop over offered water and biscuits to our dog.

Review 83:Location and dog friendly but not as dog friendly as other establishments we have stayed in. Very friendly staff and swift check out.

Review 84:the room, iv stayed in a lot of hotels around the world, but this one was special beach vane room 307, the view, the balcony, the bed, the bath, was worth every penny, already booked same room again this time longer, we even went a walk all the beach house looks brilliant rooms, and the hotel itself staff amazing and nice pizza

Review 85:Poor seating for people with mobility issues the sofas need to be higher. The wifi was almost unusable. The stairs up to the rooms were narrow and awkward. Nowhere to put anything in the shower such as soap or shampoo

Review 86:Friendly staff in a good location. An excellent choice for breakfast. The evening meals were very well prepared and tasty.

Review 87:We were given one of the very few rooms not overlooking the lake but facing the hotel ( from the beach house ) across the main road , very noisy.

Review 88:Location on the lake

Review 89:Cleanliness of the rooms wasn't to a high standard considering the cost of the stay per night.

Review 90:The food was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 91:Would have liked a bath as oppose to just a shower in the room for the kids but this was a minor thing and didn't spoil our stay.

Review 92:View of Ben Lomond from our hotel room was lovely. Staff friendly and helpful. Food from restaurant was nice. Family friendly accommodation.

Review 93:Not happy about being put at rear of hotel with absolutely no outlook. Breakfasts weren t too good either

Review 94:Friendle staff and atmosphere. The size of the hotel and roomy areas.evening meala were lovely.

Review 95:Room guaranteed to be ready by 3 pm, it was after 4 pm. Sat in the bar to wait which was very dirty, moved tables three times, covered in glasses and sticky rings - no-one attempted to wipe them! Shown to the room, paper peeling off walls, the veneer was missing off bed side tables leaving a sticky glue all over them, dirty floor and moldy skirting. Not fit for dogs never mind humans! I spoke to the lady in charge and showed her the room, she agreed to reduce the price but couldn't move us as the hotel was full. Having traveled several hundred miles to get there and with no other hotels having vacancies, we had to stop. No real apologies, and even with the reduction the price was still far too high baring in mind the state of the place. Would not recommend the hotel Stayed in a Travel Lodge on the way home and believe me it was far superior!

Review 96:Breakfast wasn't bad.

Review 97:More variety on the hot cooked breakfast. It was all dry ingredients as no beans or tomatoes or mushrooms

Review 98:The hotel was lovely and clean. Our room was lovely and well worth the money. Had a lovely view of loch lommond.

Review 99:A few minor things such as cracks appearing between the walls and the ceiling which should be repaired.

Review 100:Superb location, excellent selection of malt whiskeys from the whiskey bar, very friendly staff, nice hotel room, very nice food from restaurant.

Review 101:I found that the breakfast let the Hotel location down a little but still evening menu fantastic

Review 102:The Location is excellent, staff very approachable and Happy in the jobs they do.

Review 103:Disappointed in the breakfast, main problem it was cold .... Every morning for 4 mornings. Cold plates with food that had been stood since breakfast began, if the trays ran out, the replacement was burnt through being cooked in a rush. Although we asked for a Loch view, we didn't realise this involved being in plain view of everyone, whilst we were using the bathroom.

Review 104:Central for where we needed to visit, varied evening menu.

Review 105:We had a room at the back of the hotel with a view of shrubs. The room was extremely hot although a fan was provided. The pictures indicated that the hotel was situated on the shores of the loch but it was across the road. The food was basic and the bar ran out of 3 types of house wine on our first night which were not restocked for 3 days. The dining room needs a redecoration as shabby and tired and although not busy there was a long wait for food. No lift. Showers were tepid.

Review 106:The reception and evening bar and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful.

Review 107:Noisy floors creaked like mad with the slightest movement, Food was only ok.

Review 108:Location was nice but had rear facing rooms which were quite noisy, and in need of a redecoration

Review 109:We booked this hitel for our aniversary. The location of the hotel is superb, with great walks along Loch Lomond. We had a really nice time. The food and staff were very good

Review 110:The communal areas in the beach house were dirty and had beds etc in the corridors. There was also no wi-fi reception here. There was only one vegetarian option on the menu

Review 111:The staff were very friendly, particularly towards our little Jack Russell

Review 112:I loved the location, it was so beautiful being able to view the lochs from the inn. Either inside or outside. The food was glorious, and the portions large. With plenty of choice. Only suggestion I would make is to have baked beans as another option on the breakfast menu. Wonderful few days spent in a truly awesome location.

Review 113:We were allocated a room for people with disabilities. We are not disabled so felt the room was not appropriate for us. It lacked any 'character' and was very dark. It had french windows onto the car park so we had to keep the curtains closed and were unable to open a window.

Review 114:The location for the first night of our tour of Scotland

Review 115:Staff were a little over stressed in the restaurant and the room that was advertised with view of the Loch was not the one we were given, rather misssleading and not great value for money really.

Review 116:Great views from the restaurant area, comfy bed and acceptable breakfast.

Review 117:This was a massive rip off. Room was overheated and looked onto a large fern...felt like we were in a prison cell. The walls were thin and the door even thinner so heard everyone walking down hallway. It was a massive disappointment and not worth even a reduced rate.

Review 118:Wi if not good. But understandable with the beautiful location.

Review 119:Staff were excellent. Especially the receptionist(Steffi...I think)and the "two Shaun's"...thanks guys.

Review 120:Didn't stay here - hotel rang 10 days before to re-schedule my stay or offer a refund as they were having extensive, emergency maintenance work carried out.

Review 121:We went to The Inn on Loch Lomond for our wedding anniversary, and we had a fantastic stay. The customer service was amazing, and we were treated to a card and beverages to celebrate our anniversary. We will definitely stay here again. Amazing hotel, amazing scenery, amazing food and most importantly amazing staff.

Review 122:Room was small - bed not so comfortable and total equipment a bit out of time - ok for one night if you find no better place - but not worth a 4 star rating and not worth the price.

Review 123:Nice view on Loch Lomond and Ben Lomond - parking in front of house.

Review 124:Thought the beer was a bit expensive but that's hotels everywhere tbh. That's about it.

Review 125:We loved the place. Friendly staff, good food, clean, good environment and location.

Review 126:The floorboards were very squeaky could hear every movement in the corridor and if you moved about the room.

Review 127:Food and staff were helpful the day we left as there was an accident on the roads and gave good advice on other route also showed us on their own phone

Review 128:The beds we had were very hard. Could have done with toppers?

Review 129:An amazing setting with lovely rooms. Our room was huge! The bathroom was fabulous! We had 2 nights here and enjoyed it very much. We had dinner on both nights and we were not disappointed!

Review 130:Room was ridiculously hot even though we had a fan on and window open a bit (but couldn't have it open much due to the midgies and having a 3 month old baby). Room was too small for us and a travel cot, no linen was provided for cot but luckily we bought some with us just in case. Wifi didn't really work due to too many people trying to use it (worked ok in the middle of night when up with baby!) Sink hadn't been cleaned properly and was really dirty.

Review 131:Lovely view from room, nice location, good shower.

Review 132:trouble with key card, stiff door, slippy front entrance and understanding light system which wasn't explained in the otherwise useful guest guide. Staff were slow to clear breakfast pots. Reception was often deserted and you had to look around to seek help to solve problems

Review 133:friendly staff, selection of drinks and food available. The breakfast was good. The place had character

Review 134:We paid for an executive room with views. This room turned out to be on the ground floor, which was understandably for disabled guests and was positioned next to the kitchens. The view was dominated by the car park and the dozens of cars positioned there. The staff were fine, however they did not seem to be particularly motivated as they tended to hang about outside of the kitchens, which was next to our room, or in the reception area chatting and laughing at seemingly private jokes. The bed was one of the most uncomfortable beds we have ever slept in as a family and was a massive step down from the small b&b we had stayed in the night previously. The beds cause some unintentional amusement, as we tried to figure out just what they were made of. Think hard mattress covered in some kind of non pliable membrane and your almost there. The breakfast was good and of the serve yourself buffet style. We cannot comment on the resteraunt food as we did not eat there. We were warned, however, by a guest leaving the resteraunt as we arrived to check in that the food was appauling and advised us not to eat there. This was a little disconcerting to say the least and after a little digging on review sites, the advice we received seemed to be good. The stay was fair, being generous, although we will not be returning.

Review 135:The room was clean and the breakfast was good.

Review 136:Due to the style of drawers provided two pieces of clothing got torn in the runners :(

Review 137:Staff always helpful, peaceful location and use of sister hotel " Lodge on Loch Lomond".
