This family-run, relaxed and friendly B&B is a short walk from parks, beaches, shopping areas, restaurants, nightlife and local public transportation including South Shields Metro Station.
Newcastle Central is a 20-minute drive or train ride away. Highways A1, A19 and Tyne Tunnel are a 10-minute drive away. There is free parking right outside and secure cycle parking is available.
All rooms at Annie's Guest House have memory-foam mattresses, double-glazed windows with black-out blinds, and free Wi-Fi. Guests can also make use of a flat-screen, satellite TV and tea and coffee-making facilities.
A full English breakfast is served from 6:30 am every day, freshly cooked to order. Special diets can be catered for, and guests can use the fridge and microwave in Annie's dining room.
Single-sex party groups cannot be accommodated (4 people maximum).

Review 1：Location not as expected with police crusing up and down the road did not feel very secure. lots of noise from puppy in room below. The accomodation in general could do with a little tlc.
Review 2：The staff at Annie's were lovely and very friendly. As I was travelling in my own it was nice to see a friendly face, the staff were very accommodating though out my stay.
Review 3：Room had a smell of smoke but we were told that the neighbors were reporting a similar smell in adjacent building. So we kept windows slightly open for the night.

Review 10：Easy to find when sat nav stopped working. Far enough from the town centre so you aren't disturbed by the evening hullabaloo to walk it is maybe 5 or 10 mins. I would recommend a stroll to the sandy beach down the street.
Review 11：Probably the fastest wifi ive ever experienced in a hotel - 40mpbs and my room was on the top floor. liked the cooling fan and being able to fully open the windows. breakfast was delicious.

Review 13：It was a very friendly guest house. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was lovely and plenty of it. Very comfortable beds and very clean.

Review 18：Location is established traditional B & B street near a superb big refurbished Victorian park and then on to the seafront which is all great but some of the properties are being habited by non-holiday makers who have some issues. They didn't bother us but it didn't look very good.

Review 97：Super friendly welcome from Linda, and a splendid fry up the next morning. WiFi worked fine & the door code access was easy to master. Communal toilet & shower facilities were clean/pleasant.
Review 98：A couple of very minor things (hardly worth mentioning). Bed rattled a bit if you moved as it was very tightly fitted in. (Not a problem though). Only one side of the wardrobe doesnt open. Assume it was sealed to stop it knocking against the wall and making a noise? Again this is picky stuff which didn't matter.
Review 99：The self entry doors using a code are good. You can come and go at anytime and were helpful as I arrived late ie. after 9pm. Breakfast was nice. staff were friendly and communication was good throughout my stay. Shower/bathroom/Toilet were shared with my room but nice and clean as was the place in general.

Five minutes walk to around 20 restaurants/pubs that were very reasonably priced. 24h supermarket was 10 minutes walk. Excellent breakfast choice - 9 varieties of free-flow cereal, tea and coffee options. Excellent value for money. Would certainly recommend.
