Reviews for Hotel L'Etendard de Vaujany
Review 1:Had to make the beds up ourselves on arrival! After a long journey, this is not really what you want. Also, you are really paying for the location, the apartment apparently sleeps 6, we found it cramped with 4.
Review 2:Fantastic location.
Review 3:The price is a little bit too high, compared to the standard.
Review 4:Nice staff, Ken is very helpful. John, the manager has made it into a very familiary, welcoming, relaxed hotel.
Review 5:We arrived early at 2:30pm for a 4pm check in and had to wait until 4:45pm before we were allowed into our room. Staff were friendly but rather vague and disorganised about the arrangements for check in. The room was pleasant with a balcony but functional with no more than a basic level of comfort but given that we paid approximately 230 euros for one night for a triple room with breakfast I expected more comfort. Presumably the price was related to the proximity of the ski lift.
Review 6:It was very close to the ski-lift. There was a relaxed friendly atmosphere and all guests could feel included.
Review 7:Place could do with a deep clean but can be forgiven for the outstanding views.
Review 8:Perfect location with cable car outside the hotel and a couple of shops and cafes near by. Breakfast is also very good.
Review 9:As we were not expected 4 days earlier, before we left I told themanager that we were booked in on our return journey and would wantdinner. He made a note of it. Guess what! When we arrived we weren'texpected, but were given a room with 4 single beds in and the managertold the chef that there were two more for dinner. Different room thistime ensuite was fairly new. But shower screen hadn't been cleanedas dry droplets of water still on screen. Sheets again had been washedbut had yellow stains on. Went down to bar for a drink againcouldn't find anyone so went in kitchen no one there and Kitchen wasas filthy as when I saw it 4 days before. Again no choice of dinner andyou had to eat at 6.30pm. Three course meal this time and in fairnesswasn't bad. But again had to queue for soup and main course. Memberof staff never came to our table and asked if we wanted drinks. Wouldhave had a bottle of wine but couldn't be bothered to go and ask.Manager did appear from the kitchen during our meal to get his threecourse meal but customers were never asked if meal ok or do you want adrink. Breakfast again was once it has gone it has gone! Went to checkout and again had to find a member of staff, who was in the filthykitchen. Gave him the key, I had already paid for the room and dinner, but he hadn't a clue if I had or not. Glad to leave and won'tstay there again. The only reason we ate there a second time was becauseeverywhere else was shut. When booking the hotel and dinner you shouldbe told that there is no choice and if you don't like it tuff. Asmentioned the kitchen was filthy but amazingly the chef spent a lot oftime sitting in the sun drinking on both our visits!!!!

Review 11:Nobody available on arrival to checkin, so looked for somebody in the kitchen which was absolutely filthy. Manager eventually arrived, didn't know we were arriving blamed Booking.com. Room was filthy, mildew around the shower, dust was as thick as foam in places, shower screens never cleaned. Bed sheets had been washed but had yellow stains on them. We had booked evening meal for €18pp which was a rip off, had to eat at 6.30pm, no choice of menu, no starter, had to queue for our food which was Raclette and the machines that melted the cheese took ages so a long wait, so if you didn't like Raclette hard luck. Came down for breakfast at 9am, got the last two croissants people after us went without. Basically, once the food was gone it was gone. Staff gave the impression they didn't want to be there and clearly had no training in hotel work. Told the manager that we were already booked in 4 days later on our return journey and that we had also booked evening meal. He noted this in the book as again blamed Booking.com for no notification. We had no choice but to return as other hotels were closed.

Review 32:the staff were great very helpfull we had a great stay.
Review 33:perfect friendly staff
Review 34:The balcony door did not shut properly. There often was not hot water and the shower was bad. Lights did not work in the room. The cupboard door was broken. There was no access to the hotel from the ski and boot room. The path from the boot room outside was steep and often icy and very slippery. It was not cleared and no matting was put down.
Review 35:Good location with a good view. Room clean but very basic for the price.
Review 36:We where in a room at the front of the hotel which because of it's location was very noisey early in the morning. The noise came from the road and not the hotel.
Review 37:The food was very good with ample if you have a big appetite. The location apposite the cable car was ideal and the staff always had a smile and where very attentive.
Review 38:The noise, no facilities, no internet, dirty, lack of information inEnglish, poorly looked after, definitely not a 3 star hotel asadvertised - this was more like a hostel
