Reviews for Glencoe House

Review 1:Only had good experiences there.

Review 2:Amazing hotel, you can have the experience of beeing inside a castle. The team provides excellent service and the gourmet meal served at your suite (which is actually as big as a small apartment) is probably one of the best I have had. I wish I could have stayed there for longer.

Review 3:In a place like this, breakfast orange juice should be freshly squeezed

Review 4:In-suite dining with an unforgettable view of the loch. Royal class suites with - in at least one of them - a fully prepared and well-functioning fireplace

Review 5:Everything was extraordinary- there was nothing we did not enjoy.

Review 6:Everything- no detail was missed. The staff- is extraordinary- the house is beautiful, the food wonderful. One of theoat pleasant hotel stays.

Review 7:Glencoe House is stunning - Took my girlfriend up for surprise proposal in October, couldn't have picked a better place to propose, house is beautiful & the views out the window looking onto loch Leven were absolutely gorgeous. Arrived early & was greeted by Roger, who gave us a glass of champagne on arrival & told us about the house, as we were early Roger suggested we could go for a walk around the Lochan, which was lovely wee walk - beautiful day & could see picture perfect reflection of the hills in the water. After our walk we were shown to our room & it took me by surprise how big our room was, our own private dining room, living room, double bedroom, large shower room & large bathroom with two roll-topped bath tubs!! In the dining room you have mini bar, snacks & free hot drink maker - the prices were brilliant, cheap as supermarket You get served five meal course for dinner & served your breakfast in the morning - Bayleaf catering cater your service - they were really great, I asked if I could change my menu before-hand & they were really helpful. Meal was lovely & staff very friendly & amazing service. Woke up early to watch the sunrise from my window with cup of tea & it was magnificent, the views we had from our window were stunning, weather was great took some lovely pictures This is a stunning place to stay, all staff are very friendly & helpful, would recommend this house to everyone staying in & around Glencoe - it wont disappoint you!!

Review 8:I liked everything about the location, building, suite, staff owner and food... No negatives at all.

Review 9:If your looking for quiet, unassuming luxury with a private twist, this is the place to stay.

Review 10:Our suite was magnicent - on the Sunday night as there is no dinner we lit the fire had a picnic with wine from the reasonably priced well stocked bar. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful and the views tremendous. Will definitely return in the future.

Review 11:This hotel was perfect in every way. Friendly helpful staff and rooms filled with character. The hotel is a restored country house filled with character and was excellent in every way. We will be visiting again.

Review 12:I wish they had a common terrace to watch the sunset over the loch. It may be part of the grand plan as the house and grounds develop. The opportunity is there for a beautiful gathering place.

Review 13:I can't say enough good things about this hotel. I felt like I was an invited guest at a private home. The food, both breakfast and dinner, was delicious and that matters when you return from hiking the trails in Glencoe. The staff also knew wonderful walks that weren't necessarily on the tourist maps. We will return and bring the rest of the family because they made us feel so welcome.

Review 14:A fabulous welcome, from the minute you arrive to the minute you leave you are treated like royalty. Glencoe house is an absolute treasure set in the most beautiful landscape, the passion that roger has for the house and guests is truly second to none.

Review 15:We thought everything was fantastic. The best experience we have ever had at a hotel! The highest quality and comfort in every detail, the attention of the staff - and all at affordable prices. This is one of the very best places to stay in Scotland!

Review 16:Unbelievable place! Great castle, unbelievably nice people running it. Only seven suites - even so the word "suite" is a complete understatement. In this place you are treated like and live like a personal guest of the lord himself. You must see rhis to belive it. We have not seen any other place in Scottland like it..

Review 17:I have nothing bad to say abour Glencoe House. They exceed my expectations when it came to everything, and I had high expectations! The staff truly made us feel at home. Best accomodation I have ever experienced. I you have the oppertunity eat in, the dining experience was as amazing as everything else they had to offer.

Review 18:We've never had a stay quite like this one. Roger has thought of all the details and then some; there was nothing left out. Bath bombs for the slipper baths, candles and fires that can be lit to warm the room and for the atmosphere, a great selection of books and movies; breakfast served in front of stunning views in the room so you can lounge about in pajamas...we could go on and on. We absolutely loved it here and wished we could stay longer. We're aiming to come back one day!

Review 19:Great service and immaculate rooms, self service bar with full range of drinks.

Review 20:Loved the in suite dining, so private and a great way to get away from it all. The steaks on the second night were amazing.

Review 21:Beautiful and unique property Memorable experience

Review 22:Luxury and sophistication that you come across only on very rare occasions. I honestly cannot wait to return..

Review 23:Everything was perfect everyone was friendly and helpful. Food was wonderful

Review 24:The carpeting had an ominous odor. The rest of the hotel had beautiful wood floors.

Review 25:Furnishing were beautiful. Breakfast was very good.

Review 26:Nothing

Review 27:Other renovation is meticulous, the service excellent, the spaces large and the concept delightfully unusual

Review 28:Wonderful suites, great views, great staff

Review 29:Perfect

Review 30:Eloquence, Beauty,enchanting

Review 31:Everything

Review 32:In room dining Huge suites Friendly staff Double tub

Review 33:We had much more space than we imagined: loved having 2 roll top baths and couldn't believe we had a grande piano in our living room!

Review 34:The 120Sq M room, the lounge area, breafast area, the bath area and the super comfortable beds in the room

Review 35:The room was very clean & well set out. Plus the view & surrounding areas were breathtaking

Review 36:Wonderful guest house not to be missed!

Review 37:Maybe a little less formality with the evening meal.

Review 38:Wonderful location, attentive staff. Huge welcoming suites, which gave everything one needed.

Review 39:Wonderful experience from the staff to the actual room. One of the best stays anywhere !!

Review 40:House, Stuff and Food. We never can expect more. Just exceptional place to say.

Review 41:Too short to live more days.

Review 42:Excellent suite with supper bigger space.

Review 43:Double tub Serenity and great hikes around Dinner in room Friendly staff Very spacious Pricey but very worth it

Review 44:I wish I could have stayed longer! Highly recommented.

Review 45:The suite was incredible. Spacious, luxurious and romantic. The fireplace was my favorite. All around excellence.

Review 46:Loved everything

Review 47:Beautiful location, excellent staff, stunning room.

Review 48:Staff were arrogant and not particularly open to feedback. Food was mediocre and there was no room service. We arrived late and it was impossible to find any food on site. You would think a hotel that charges that much would have some sort of arrangement! Our log fire was smoking up the whole room but we were told that nothing could be done about it!

Review 49:Stunning location, lovely rooms.

Review 50:We had dinner in our room, and while the food was absolutely excellent, the service was very slow.

Review 51:Room was superb, location was spectacular. Food was also excellent.

Review 52:Having to check out!

Review 53:The Staff - friendly, professional, warm and welcoming. Couldn't do enough to help! The rooms - Amazing The Food - serviced to your room - hello on to a winner here. The View The sheer luxury The walks near by In all honesty this is the best hotel I have ever stayed in and the best trip I have taken - If you are going to visit one place in Scotland make this place it!

Review 54:Everything. The whole experience was fantastic with champagne on arrival. The staff were brilliant and very accommodating as well as being attentive to our every need. Could not recommend this place highly enough.

Review 55:Ordering breakfast is a bit confusing, and the order form could be made more clear. Our breakfast order was a bit jumbled.

Review 56:Glencoe House had me a little nervous as my buddy and I had hyped it up on our drive in. My wife increasingly voiced her skepticism and having never stayed, I had but a 9.8 rating a few photos to justify myself. Glencoe House isn't really as much of a hotel as it is an experience. Bring a single malt and settle into a relaxing evening by the fire in stately furniture and great company. Glass of champagne on arrival and a glass of champagne served with your in-room breakfast; the Glencoe House staff knows how to make you feel special. Nothing I saw on this website really did it justice. The Glencoe House is itself enough of to draw me back to Scotland.

Review 57:Absolutely fabulous property! Grounds were lovely, people were friendly (and informative) and I just can't say enough good things about Glencoe House. (I don't normally do surveys, so you can imagine how great it was if I am writing this.) And I will be back.... to take Connor for a walk! All the best to Roger (and Ann) and look forward to seeing you again soon!!

Review 58:The VAT should be added to your quote when booking. I have never stayed at a hotel where the price quoted was plus VAT. On a 3 night stay this is quite a big chunk. This did not spoil our visit. but i could see how it may for some...

Review 59:Fantastic beautiful place. Wonderful setting. Suite was unbelievable. Would have no hesitation recommending this hotel to anyone. Cannot fault it.… Spent 3 nights here, was not enough…..

Review 60:Just too expensive and the VAT should be added into the price quoted for the room

Review 61:Fantastic concept. Your staff were just excellent and seemed genuinely interested in conversation

Review 62:Fabulous suite with large gorgeous bathroom and all the amenities you can think of. Fire started upon our arrival, dinner lovely. Beatiful location adjacent to parklands for walking

Review 63:This place is excellent. It has the perfect location, lovely views, and enormous rooms. The staff is attentive and delightful. The price of this place will go way up (it's relatively new), but it's a tremendous value now.

Review 64:Everything was perfect, from the warm welcome with a glass of champagne, to the spacious and beautifully comfortable suite, with views over the Loch. Wonderful hosts-this is a very special place indeed. Thank you again-we all loved our stay.

Review 65:Surroundings, accommodation and food were superb. We chose our stay at Glencoe House as part of our celebrations of my parents' 50th wedding anniversary later this year. Our three days at Glencoe House were genuinely memorable. The en-suite breakfasts were cooked to perfection and our experience of en-suite evening dining on the final evening of our stay lead us to wish we had chosen this option from day one.

Review 66:It would be nice to be able to eat supper in the House when the weather is bad, rather than having to go out; believe this is being addressed for the future.

Review 67:a very warm welcome from all staff, nothing was a problem ! A great choice for celebrating my sister's special birthday - we were able to all be together in a most comfortable suite.

Review 68:Nothing - this place is perfect for a couple of days of completerelaxation. The only thing I would say is that staff are a little tooattentive on occasions. So maybe gauge whether guests are the type whowant to chat or if they just want to be left alone to enjoy what is afabulous place to stay.

Review 69:We really enjoyed our stay here. The accommodation is fabulous as is thesetting and location. Particularly loved the open fire in our room inthe evenings and the fully stocked honesty bar. Candles in living roomand bathroom were also a nice addition.

Review 70:We loved it. Shame we have stayed there only for one night.

Review 71:Amazing place to stay. Such a warm atmosphere. Beautiful siute. Much more then I expected.

Review 72:Arrived in the dark and there was no lighting from guest car park to house. No dimmer on dining room light, far to bright. Wine chiller 'on display' in dining room. No broadband in room.

Review 73:Huge double bedded room, immense bathroom. Incredible views, comfortable beds with great linens. Sensibly priced wines and spirits in room.

Review 74:NOTHING wrong with this place all in good order and the staff and house are awesome!

Review 75:We have been travelers for many years both as civilian and as Naval personnel and Glencoe House is by far the best place we have stayed! The staff are very helpful and friendly, the locations is spectacular. Near hiking, and walking paths. Near boating facilitates, and a great deal of Scottish History! The rooms are not your tipical B & B, you actually get a suite, with a large sitting area, the breakfast is served in your sitting area with a breakfast nook. The lights are Chandilars in each room and the bath is to die for with tub and large shower! This is a spectular place to stay and relax. Good restarants around the area to eat and lots of things to do. I highly recommend Glencoe House! It is a special place!

Review 76:We spent 18 days in the UK and this location was the best part of our trip.

Review 77:EVERYTHING! From the friendly, attentive staff details, to the spacious rooms with amazing views of Loch Leven, to the property hikes around a dog friendly lake with spectacular mountain views, to the best breakfast in town. I highly recommend Glencoe House and Glencoe!

Review 78:There was nothing we didn't like. GlenCoe House can only get even better as the owners further develop the hotel.

Review 79:Wonderful location overlooking Loch Leven and the Pap of GlenCoe. Short walk to the GlenCoe Lochan which is beautiful. Easy access to GlenCoe, Fort William, Oban areas. Our suite of rooms (sitting room, dining room, 2 bedrooms, bathroom) was very tastefully decorated and furnished, and the owners have taken great care in restoring this beautiful house. Lovely breakfast in private dining room. Owners and staff could not have been more helpful!

Review 80:Roger, the owner made us feel like family. We had everything we needed and he even let us borrow his dog Connor for a walk around the lake! We highly recommend this property!

Review 81:Ample space for a family of four. Delicious breakfasts made to order and delivered in your suite. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Felt like home away from home. Only better.

Review 82:Wifi only available at the reception/lobby area however i believe there is a plan to upgrade this.

Review 83:The fireplace in the room is a very nice feature. Rober the guardian was very welcoming and was always available and willing to help.

Review 84:leaving!

Review 85:Everything was excellent - they have note missed a thing and have dealt with every last detail to ensure a luxurious and comfortable experience.

Review 86:Very expensive when services are in short supply and one is largely confined to ones room where meals are served. The hotel is in its infancy as an operating entity and this may improve but as a solo traveller it was not really an appropriate type of hotel

Review 87:Elegant and stylishly furnished suite of large and spacious rooms in a good location

Review 88:Lack of Wi-Fi in room. Up-grade required to available media- SKY / MOVIES etc.

Review 89:Space of accommodation suites. In room breakfast service. Beautiful decor. Relaxing location and atmosphere.

Review 90:Cold when the winter wind blows until the fires get going but lovely when they do.

Review 91:The suites were amazing very very large and very well stocked. The staff were very helpful and we loved the great breakfasts in a lovely location overlooking the loch. Very comfortable beds and a luxury having a roaring fire in our bedroom.

Review 92:Luxury

Review 93:stunning location, in-room-dining with first-class menu - compliments to the young chef! overall, a must for the discerning traveller...

Review 94:Beautiful, luxurious house in a stunning setting. Staff friendly, helpful and professional.

Review 95:Missed a cosy bar area.

Review 96:Bathrooms very well finished, Attention to detail in rooms was great.

Review 97:The perfect stay.

Review 101:Nothing!

Review 102:The staff were exceptionally friendly and the rooms were beautiful.

Review 103:This property is fantastic. The staff made us feel so welcome and the rooms were really well appointed. I would return here in a heart beat.

Review 104:Everything - the very best experience you could hope for. Cannot recommend the hotel enough. Will definitely return.
