Reviews for Hôtel De La Gare Citotel

Review 1:To get to the breakfast room and reception you had to walk outside and as it rained for most of our stay this was unfortunate.

Review 2:Very friendly and welcoming staff who went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable, secure parking available on site. It was very easy to find the hotel and it's position was good for exploring Quimper.

Review 3:Room basic. Toilet door noisy and very awkwardly placed inside bathroom. After adding cost of breakfast and parking, price less competitive.

Review 4:Friendly helpful owners made us welcome and attended to our needs. Convenient location with private car parking (extra charge) walking distance from historic centre.

Review 5:The staff were great - very friendly and helpful. For instance in recommending good places to eat. The hotel was very convenient for those traveling by train. They served a nice breakfast.

Review 6:There was a coffee making machine but would have liked tea :-) and had to ask for a hair dryer, but this is a minor inconvenience.

Review 7:Easy booking and a great room on arrival. We were made to feel very welcome. This is a city hotel right by the station so the car park was really good. Great bed, pillows, shower, - warm room. Breakfast was nice with very special hand made jam and fresh fruit salad. We walked into town - 5 mins - and the park - 5 mins - all good.

Review 8:wifi signal was a bit weak because our room was some distance from the reception area where the router was located

Review 9:location was convenient for access to town parking availability was useful staff were friendly

Review 10:Breakfast space limited in the 'rush hour', but staff made considerable efforts to deal with it.

Review 11:Helpful staff. Convenient (paid) gated parking.

Review 12:Stayed in a ground floor room overlooking the courtyard, which proved to be dark and slightly noisy

Review 13:Great location right at the station and a car rental office, 10 mins walk away from the Cathedral

Review 14:Nothing

Review 15:Lovely young man on reception and doing breakfast the next morning extremely helpful. We were a family With two teenagers room was of good size for us all. Very close to the centre of Quimper very secure carpark. Close to the train station Quimper absolutely lovely. Would recommend hotel without any hesitation.

Review 16:None

Review 17:Special attention to individual needs. Super fast WiFi. Extra touches, such as table and chairs in front of room for your use. Draft beer on tap. Tissues in room. Great lighting in bathroom. Easy parking. Great breakfast.

Review 18:Look for the reception opening hours.

Review 19:Across the street from SNCF train station, 10 min on foot to the city centre. Caring and helpful reception staff!

Review 20:Nothing.

Review 21:Lovely staff concerned with one's comfort. A great location if you are using the train or bus for transport around the region. The hotel is literally across the road. The main part of town is a ten minute walk away. Excellent.

Review 22:Nothing to comment on here. All was excellent.

Review 23:Excellent hosts, personable and informative and made to feel welcome immediately. The hotel has been well renovated and is a little treasure, if the truth be told. We wold definitely stay here again. Breakfast was excellent too.

Review 24:Alexandra & Antoine (proprietors) and Sarah (receptionist & factotum) are a great trio who made my stay a delight. I stayed 7 days: great place and ambiance, splendidly placed both for exploring Old Quimper and radiating to other lovely medieval towns.

Review 25:Breakfast could have included eggs and perhaps ham, very heavy on bread and cakes. Wardrobe space ok if you only there for a few days, difficult for two people for a week.

Review 26:Staff very helpful and location was quiet, we had a room in hotel st jacob facing into the car park.

Review 27:Welcome was excellent. Offered a drink while checking. Rooms with balcony were very clean & to a very high standard. Very close to town centre. But nice & quite. Secure private parking. Alround excellent.

Review 28:did not have a hair dryer..

Review 29:convenient hotel right cross from the rail station; and a 10 minutes easy walk to the historic center and cathedral. Friendly and warm welcome; great service.

Review 30:The owners were wonderfully friendly and personally involved. The position, although central and close to restaurants and the centre, was nonetheless very quiet at night.

Review 31:Outside my door were table and chairs where people smoked and of course the smell of smoke exuded my room all the time. It was a non smoking room but that made no difference as the smoke entered the room even with the windows closed.

Review 32:Conveniently located. Clean. Lovely creperie beside hotel. Quiet.

Review 33:The new owners were fantastic. We were greeted very graciously. The breakfast was large and very filling. With all of our large bags we could not get any closer to the train station. From the hotel, the important sites of town were just down the street. The #1 rated crepes restaurant is literally just across the little alley from the parking lot. the entire back part of the toe has been completely remodeled and is beautiful and comfortable. This is a great value and comfortable stay

Review 34:This hotel is owned by a young couple with two small children. The husband greeted me enthusiastically and with a complimentary glass of apple juice. He was very pleased to tell me they have only owned the hotel for 20 months and have completely renovated it. It is very graciously designed. He was also pleased to tell me of his wife's fresh made fruit salad served at breakfast as well as locally made jams. They were both delicious. The location was perfect for me as Im traveling by train and it's right across from the station. Others with a vehicle may prefer to be closer to the center of town. Although it's only a few blocks away.

Review 35:I got a good price on booking.com but the hotel gave me a room with three beds and on the parking lot. There were lots of available rooms on the inner courtyard but i assume the reason they offered a good single room price was to dump the parking lot room. The parking lot is for several hotels and can be very active at night. It would have been great to have had a room with one bed on the courtyard. I didn't consider when the special price popped up on booking.com that it was to dump an undesirable room.

Review 36:It was clean, afforadable, near train statiom

Review 37:Absolutely nothing negative to say.

Review 38:After a long transatlantic flight (one-stop) and a train ride, I was delighted to find this hotel right across the train station. Unbelievably friendly staff -- the receptionist took my suitcase to my room. She helped me figure out my brand-new phone with an international SIM card. The room was on the small side, but very clean and comfortable. Breakfast next morning was copious and delicious, and chatting with the owner was a pleasure.

Review 39:The staff were extremely helpful, they went out of there way to provide information about the city and surrounding areas and provide directions. The hotel feels safe and secure, it's very quiet at night. Secure off road parking

Review 40:Breakfast was not up to standard, suggest going out.

Review 42:nothing!!

Review 43:we loved this hotel the owner was very kind and helpful, his English was excellent and he was interesting to talk to. Breakfast was great :-)

Review 44:I was allowed to check-in early, but could not access the room or deposit my suitcase, even though it was unoccupied and had been cleaned. I left my suitcase in reception and when I returned after 10 pm it had not been placed in my room and I was unable to retrieve it until the following morning. The staff were apologetic and I think it was an oversight. But being the weekend they were not on duty until 8 am, which was a little inconvenient.

Review 45:Good location for trains and buses, but a short walk to the historical area. Helpful, friendly staff. Comfortable room. Easy access after hours using an access code.
