Reviews for Swanage Haven Boutique B&B
Review 1:The bed was too firm for my liking so it took a couple of restless nights before I became used to it.
Review 2:It had its own car parking. An excellent choice at breakfast. Within easy walking distance from the sea and town.
Review 3:That it's not open all year round
Review 4:Breakfast is exceptional - something for everyone - and plenty of it! It was my second stay and it was as equally as fabulous as the first
Review 5:There was a good selection of locally sourced produce for the cooked breakfast, with fresh baked bread. The room was very tastefully decorated and immaculate. Excellent, hope to return soon.
Review 6:Little to complain about. The unpleasant UHT milk supplied with the tea and coffee tray was the only thing I was less than happy with, and that is very trivial!
Review 7:Comfortable B&B, with friendly welcoming hosts. Would return if going to Swanage in the future. Made for a very pleasant three night stay.
Review 8:Close to the sea front but be aware that you are going downhill. On the way back it can feel quite steep. The actual B and B is just lovely, clean and welcoming and our room was really nice. Big bed, good bathroom and plenty of room. Breakfast was as promised in other reviews: excellent.
Review 9:Shower lacks power .
Review 10:Bed comfortable , host very welcoming and attentive, location convenient and quiet. Car parking . Breakfast good choice and quality.
Review 11:there was not one single thing we did not like about the owners or the hotel
Review 12:reception was first class. breakfast quality and choice was fantastic. owners were very helpful, attentive and charming made sure everything was perfect for us.
Review 13:Minor negative was the old building didn't have the best sound-proofing.
Review 14:Breakfast was amazing. Room was well-equipped; comfy bed, spacious shower room and even USB plugs. Owners were great.
Review 15:Nothing
Review 16:Very comfy, extremely clean, staff were wonderful and breakfast was delicious. I constantly travel due to work and it is by far the best hotel I've ever stayed in
Review 17:The breakfast was excellent. Really enjoyed the experience of a hot tub after a day of walking around the Jurassic Coast. Probably one of the most relaxing nights in a B&B we've ever spent.
Review 18:Brilliant location very friendly owners breakfast was faultless room had everything very clean free wifi what else do u need in a b&b rates are very good for the service and location you get would stay there again
Review 19:Owned by a lovely warm welcoming couple. Location and facilitles were great. A generous, hearty well-cooked breakfast set us up for the day. Highly recommended.
Review 20:breakfast fantastic with lovely homemade jams and bread. Locally sourced products. Room beautifully decorated and immaculate. Very quiet and peaceful at night. Very thoughtful touches, toiletries replaced when used and you could help yourself to extra tea coffee milk etc when required.
Review 21:The proprietors went out of their way to ensure that I had a comfortable stay. I requested a larger duvet for my single bed and it was there in a flash. Breakfast was out of this world. Just a small point - I was put on a table for 1 facing the window, which made it difficult to interact with any of the other - mainly couples - guests during breakfast. This made for a somewhat lonely breakfast experience. Maybe face the chair into the room to facilitate conversation?
Review 22:There is nothing to dis-like.
Review 23:David and Dianne looked after us so well throughout our peaceful stay with them. The breakfasts offered a wide range of tasty locally produced food and set us up for the day ahead. Dianne has cooked with Jean- Christophe Novelli! The property is very secure, has excellent parking and is very walkable from and to the centre of Swanage. There is a large garden. We highly recommend this B & B to you.
Review 24:Acoustics of room could be better, could hear continuous snoring of visitor in room next door for the 3 nights we were there.
Review 25:Owners were friendly and polite, location was great and room very comfortable and clean.
Review 26:Very friendly hosts, excellent breakfast, very close to beach and local restaurants/bars. The kingsize room was clean and modern, very comfortable.
Review 27:Proprietress was surly on my arrival. Misleading booking information re on-site parking. Room was minute. There was a gap between the bed and the wall that needed a serious clean with discarded tissues, a used contact lens and a lot of dust. Bed very hard and I had backache after three nights. Weird arrangement with licensed bar which no one used. Too many rules.
Review 28:The breakfasts were lovely.
Review 29:The accommodation is great value. We stayed twice in different rooms . Both were fresh modern decor and new ensuite bathrooms.Spotlessly clean.Breakfasts are first class. We had to leave early twice and it was very disappointing to miss the breakfast. The service was great. Our hosts David and Dianne were very friendly and very helpful. It was very clear that they love what they are doing. We would stay again without hesitation.
Review 30:The B&B is not located on the seafront or in town, but the walk is fairly short and quite enjoyable.
Review 31:Run by a friendly couple who obviously have a lot of pride in what they do and this shows in their attention to detail.
Review 32:Disappointed evening meals no longer available as the menu we had seen when booking looked very enticing. Our friend's single room was a little smaller than he had anticipated and he would have liked a chair to sit on.
Review 33:Great shower in bathroom, beautiful bed linen, etc. delicious cooking, free wi fi, hot tub available although we didn't use it in the end, spotlessly clean, very informative and helpful owners.
Review 34:Arrived at 8pm - wanted some dinner so was advised to by staff to go into town. I came back to the room to read in the handbook that dinner was available until 8.30pm. I needed to work in the daytime using the internet and was told to go and find a cafe in town (being new to swanage that wasn't easy) I eventually found a library to sit in however this was not suggested by the staff and there was no flexibility to extend my check out time of 1030am for a couple of hours
Review 35:The room was very clean and I was able to get a good night sleep
Review 36:Loved the decor and facilities. Rooms well appointed and spacious with lots of tea and coffee etc. There is a bar and a hot tub in the garden.
Review 37:we can honestly say there was nothing to dislike.
Review 38:Ideal location, only a short walk into town. The choice of breakfast was fantastic and tasted equally fantastic. Dave & Di was so professional and very accommodating. Dave even came out at breakfast with a homemade cake with a candle and sang happy birthday to my husband Steve. Even the cake tasted fantastic, mmmmm.
Review 39:We were made to feel very welcome throughout our whole stay. Breakfast each morning was fantastic with a large choice of fresh fruit, cooked and pastries. The room was very comfortable with a lovely en-suite and a few extra touches to make us feel welcome
Review 40:Beautiful large room, friendly owners and breakfast was exceptional, only wish I could have ate more. So many thoughtful small touches, from welcome chocolates to extra tea and coffee. Would definitely stay again.
Review 41:Don't use shower at peak times in top rooms as lack of water pressure make it switch from cold to very hot and back again.
Review 42:Excellent breakfast Comfortable room
Review 43:We found the hosts to be very friendly and the cooking was ofthe highest standard and very delicious . Loved staying and hope we are able to go again. Thank you
Review 44:Friendly owners, comfortable well appointed room and excellent food. There are a number of very good places to eat within walking distance. There is easy access to major walking routes and the open top bus service to Poole and Bournemouth stops at the end of the road. The village shop is only a few minutes walk away and very handy for small purchases.
Review 45:The house is a bit far from the town centre. But I suppose a lot of people, not like me, drive there. So It should be good to many travellers. And it is a nice walk along the beach on the way to town although it takes some time. The house is close enough to the a entrance to the path which leads to the Old Harry though.
Review 46:The house is just lovely! I booked a single room but Dianne and David upgraded me to a large double room which is absolutely gorgeous! Dianne and David are so nice and considerate. I would like to stay there longer if I have time.
Review 47:There was nothing we disliked. Short walk to town and beach so lovely location .
Review 48:The hotel was immaculately presented and the garden too and the fresh fruit and cooked breakfast were simply the best! Not to mention the home made breakfast muffins . We enjoyed evening meals too and would certainly recommend them. David was an attentive and pleasant host whilst Dianne did the cooking .
Review 49:Nothing to dislike. Would happily choose to stay again
Review 50:It's all good! Modern decor and very clean. Excellent breakfast. Welcoming hosts Car parking on site. Quiet position
Review 51:Our bathroom was a little on the small side but beautifully presented and clean
Review 52:Dave's welcoming and friendly approach was excellent. We felt like part of the family. Breakfast was delicious Overall a great experience
Review 53:We were dissapointed to of not been able to have the evening menu as I am sure would of been great if breakfast is anything to by, however they explained and it was just bad timing.
Review 54:The place is a lovely area near the beach and a stones throw away from the town of Swannage, the breakfast is amazing and the choice is great, the standard and quality of ingredients is the best the area has to offer and is lovingly cooked to perfection. The location for us was perfect as we were racing in the Wiggle hillasaurus.
Review 55:What a lovely place to stay. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room lovely and very clean. Breakfast was fab. Homemade biscuits and jam/marmalade. Cooked breakfast was one of the best I have had. Location brill - only 10 min walk along the front to town.
Review 56:One of The rubbish bins in the room was not emptied for two days.
Review 57:The food was excellent and a very good price. The breakfast menu was very good especially eggs Benedict and the pastries -they were wonderful.
Review 58:We chose this for a few nights stay in the area based on the reviews and found it to be a great choice, it really does live up to its excellent reputation. Both David and Dianne are wonderfully attentive hosts. The extra touches such as the homemade bread, preserves etc. at breakfast are out of the ordinary. We also ate there on two nights, the evening meals were excellent. David is an excellent 'bar keep' and it was good to strike a rapport with both him and the other diners as it all added to the ambience, not to leave out Dianne who joined in the conversations as far as good 'cheffing' allowed. My husband appreciated that we could park the car on sight and we did not use it for the few days we were there. There are plenty of transport choices to enable you to explore the area if you do not want to be driving all the time, including buses, ferry and the steam train which takes you to Corfe castle and the mineing museum amongst other stops. We would definitely stay there again if visiting that area. We really enjoyed our stay not in small part due to David and Dianne, so many thanks :-)
Review 59:The WiFi was a bit intermittent on the upper levels and the front facing bedroom was a little noisy in the morning...people travelling to work and late at night when the pub opposite turned out.
Review 60:We have stayed at this B&B before and have always enjoyed our stay. Excellent hospitality and food.
Review 61:Lovely little b&b with very friendly hosts. The breakfasts were amazing with a good variety to suit all appetites. The rooms were modern and comfortable plus there was the added bonus of a hot tub and a bar lounge.
Review 62:Tap water provided made strange looking and tasting tea. Poor recommendations for places to eat- either closed or not very good food.
Review 63:Standard room Good sized room with beautiful garden view Very comfortable bed Nice en suite with shower Very good breakfast
Review 64:Exceptionally friendly host, excellent accommodation and good value for money. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble and as it was my birthday and our anniversary the reception received was extremely superb.
Review 65:Nothing mabe that we were on the top floor
Review 66:Lots of visits to interesting places good dining places great hotel would recommend Dave and his wife very friendly nothing to much trouble hot tub was great
Review 67:Room small ok for a few days but wouldnt want to spend any longer insuch a small room. It was described as being compact.
Review 68:Very nice accommodation very clean and well presented. Breakfast nighon perfect.Booked into a "compact room" which is actually quite small. However it was beutifully decorated and comfortable.
Review 69:The Haven is tastefully decorated. Very friendly, professionally run and breakfast choices and their quality better than most 4* hotels we have stayed in. Excellent value and we look forward to returning soon

Review 81:Difficult to find something to put here and the following are little niggles It's a little further than the advertised 3 mins to the beach. I couldn't book an appointment in the spa as it was fully booked with appointments from local people.
Review 82:A beautifully decorated spotlessly clean boutique hotel. The owners were very friendly and helpful and lead the breakfast room in singing happy birthday to me along with providing a cake & candle for me! The food was tastey and the choice was large. I would recommend the evening meal which was good value for money We will definitely stay again in the future!
