Reviews for The Seaview Hotel And Restaurant

Review 1:Generally the staff were friendly but very amateurish

Review 2:The room was a good size, quiet and comfortable. The cooked breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked and delicious

Review 3:Rooms not checked bulbs not working TV all disconnected towel missing. Staff unable to control drunk client so our guests left early. Abrupt server at breakfast not friendly. Reception staff helpful. No parking had to use public parking.

Review 4:The location is lovely

Review 5:our room although nice and clean had the hardest bed we have ever slept on giving me back ache for the next day and my wife neck problems for the next week, also our room had a fan unit running right outside our bedroom window, these things coupled with doors banging until the early hours didn't make for a pleasant night away

Review 6:nice welcome, fantastic meal in the restaurant, very good staff

Review 7:wifi - located in a bit of a deadspot for mobile reception; within the hotel wifi only covers part of the building.

Review 8:Staff were lovely, very family-friendly atmosphere; perfect location close to beach and coastal walks. Very good restaurant and bar food, also several places to eat out nearby and interesting places to visit. Breakfast was always a great start to the day, with a cheery welcome first thing in the morning.

Review 9:The location is ideal and the very attentive Staff members in Reception, Bar and Dining Room were a pleasure to meet. The whole experience was most enjoyable

Review 10:Nothing

Review 11:Every was excellent, booked a table in the restaurant and wasn't disapointed. I'm a very fussy vegetarian and I was very pleased with my meal.

Review 12:Car park very tight and limited in space - but there are on streetspaces available.

Review 13:Super location in a lovely part of the Isle of Wight. Well worth bookingin for an evening meal - the food is super, but it gets very booked upso needs arranging beforehand really.

Review 14:Hotel bedrooms very dated and in need of complete refurb. Ancient bed very uncomfortable although hotel gave us £50 off cost of our stay.

Review 15:Good location and very good breakfast.

Review 16:Rather small bathroom with very small shower cubicle. Larger bath. When will hotels realise that a large shower or a decent sized bath with shower over are the preferred options?

Review 17:Good sized room Good breakfast Helpful staff

Review 18:car park is a bit tight and gets busy

Review 19:the room was amazing v clean staff were v v helpful nothing was to much trouble .love the tv in the bathroom and room was so big it was a v enjoyable stay

Review 20:The younger staff were a bit 'whatever'.

Review 21:The location is great, within a short walk of the sea front. The room was spacious, very clean and very quiet. There is also a really good and characterful bar in the hotel. We did not eat dinner in the hotel so cannot comment on the food except to say the breakfast was good.

Review 22:Not so much a bad experience as perhaps a misunderstanding. In booking a Superior room we expected to be in the old part of the building which was atmospheric, not to be in what was a modern block away from the main building that felt very different indeed.

Review 23:Very Atmospheric Hotel "Of the Place"

Review 24:nothing!!

Review 25:Very welcoming and friendly staff from start to finish!was transferred to a sea view room which was a great gesture! Room good size was good and bed very comfortable! The best part was the food!! Fish Soup amazing and Steak cooked to Perfection! Breakfast was stunning and the waitress went above and beyond especially for a quiet Sunday morning!

Review 26:The lounge bar played rave music from the floor which seemed inappropriate. I should have them to change as I'm sure they would have.

Review 27:The step back in time feel to the place. Very good breakfast and bar food.

Review 28:All the staff and the food served at breakfast and dinner were excellent. We had a problem with our car not starting. The staff were first class in helping us find breakdown help.N

Review 29:We've forgotten how many times we've returned to this hotel - it's always been very reliable, comfortable, friendly and the food is excellent. Highly recommended. We will be back.

Review 30:The only small thing was that a couple of men were drunk and sometimes loud in the bar. Not nice if you had small children as they did swear a bit.

Review 31:It had a bright lovely atmosphere and the hotel was decorated to a high standard which gave it a clean comfort feel. Food was excellent.

Review 32:We have stayed here on a number of occasions although not for a couple of years. It did not disappoint and maintains it high standards in all aspects of food and staff

Review 33:Getting to the car park is a tight squeeze. being over six foot the shower head was far to low. The front smelled overly of fish. For a hotel called sea view my £135 road only had a view of the next building

Review 34:Friendly helpful staff. Great breakfast and good bar.

Review 35:Wine was unnecessarily overpriced. Difficult for a vegetarian to eat in the restaurant which was basically fish, fish or fish.

Review 36:Great staff. Hotel well positioned.

Review 37:We dined in the public bar (our choice) which was a little too noisy. To be fair, there was a peaceful dining room, and another quieter bar, as alternatives.

Review 38:A comfortable hotel one minute from the sea in a charming little village. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly helpful staff, good food. Peaceful sleeping arrangements.

Review 39:we stayed in the studio and although it was nice and modern the carpet and bath could do with a little attention

Review 40:staff and cleanliness and friendliness. the food and restaurant were excellent with a lovely relaxed feel

Review 41:Being wakened at 2.40 by the fire alarm. Kept outside by the fire brigade until they checked where the alarm went off. Duty manager had reset the alarm and some people had taken the batteries out of their alarm so it took the brigade a while to check. It was 4.30 before we got back to bed. Also we felt that the dinner menu could have varied a bit.

Review 42:Very friendly staff. Lovely restaurant. Food quality very good. Very interesting photos on the walls. Lovely room with side view of the sea and nice toiletries.

Review 43:We were put into a room with wheel chair access and I didn't like the shower. It you were in a wheelchair you would not be able to flush the loo as the handle was very stiff and on the top. We asked for Bucks Fizz with our breakfast and it never came. Another lady ordered it too and the waitress told her colleague that she had used Prosecco not Champagne, which didn't seem very fair as this is not what the menu stated, or professional to talk about in front of us. Having said this we had a nice stay and I would probably go back again.

Review 74:Lack of ventilation Very small room

Review 93:very friendly staff, great location, very good evening meal

Review 94:Lovely location. Excellent small hotel with charm with all the facilities you would expect from a large 5* establishment. We will definitely be recommending and returning.

Review 95:Bed was very uncomfortable

Review 96:Friendly, helpful staff, beautiful room with extras like robes and slippers. Location is fantastic - right by the seafront and a pretty, rockpool beach. Private parking. Really superb breakfast.

Review 97:Beautiful location access to easy coastel walks The relaxed friendly atmosphere, nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The food was brilliant!!

Review 98:There was nothing not to like about the hotel from the excellent and very helpful staff to the excellent cuisine produced by the kitchen. The location is very peaceful and provides a first class view of the Solent and the surrounding areas and marine life.

Review 99:Wonderful friendly staff, nothing too much trouble, felt like we'd known them all years! Absolutely fantastic food, ate dinner there every evening.

Review 100:Not much car parking available at the hotel. There should be more information to say parking at the hotel is very limited.

Review 101:The location of the hotel, the friendly staff and excellent food.

Review 102:Car parking can be difficult at times.

Review 103:This hotel is probably one of the best on the island and is in a lovely location near the sea. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food is excellent. Loved breakfast on the terrace in the sunshine.

Review 104:Peeling paintwork, broken cannis separting us from next room, sticking door in next room and endless efforts by our neighbours in trying to close it

Review 105:Staff attitudes, reception, privacy of our room / small patio, garden, restaurant

Review 106:difficult to locate narrow stairs- no lift made it difficult with heavy luggage, however staff willingly assisted

Review 107:Location staff old fashioned charm parking on site comfortable bed food and drinks

Review 108:Bed was a bit hard, a mattress topper would really help . Also our suite (jasmine) did have some noise from the aircon/ventilation units outside that were going most of time. I suspect a number of rooms would also have this issue. Wouldn't stop me going again though... We will be back !

Review 109:The hotel is really lovely and the location, ambience and very helpful staff made for a memorable experience. Also the choice if eating experiences and quality of the food and wines were excellent . We were also upgraded to a lovely spacious suite . Loved the cafetiere and fresh coffee in the room.

Review 110:Nothing to do with the hotel, but the cab price to get into town was a little high for the distance.

Review 111:A great seaside hotel, perfect for a quiet break. The staff were really friendly and helpful, rooms were of a good spec, and clean. Breakfast was lovely, especially considering we arrived right at the end of service both mornings!

Review 112:I loved this hotel! I asked for a quiet room and was given a lovely huge room overlooking the garden, I even had my own patio. There was also a bath, and some boutique hotels have sacrificed the bath for more room space so that was a bonus. The staff were all friendly and made me feel very welcome. The chef was excellent, even the scrambled egg was cooked to perfection! The location is ideal, just a minute away from the beach, and you can enjoy sea views in their upstairs drawing room if you fancy a read and a coffee, or an early evening drink. Seaview itself is quiet with a long pebble beach ideal to stroll or sit and watch the boats, and just a couple of minutes from the hotel. I was visiting for the Isle of Wight festival, so a haven of peace and tranquillity to return to after the music! It is well placed to visit the island, and the ferry ports are easily accessed from here. When I told my 'island' friends about the hotel, they already knew! I would definitely recommend the Seaview to all visitors, whether couples, families, or for business or leisure. I will be back!

Review 113:I think the hotel is very over priced. I paid £145 for a one night stay so I expected something much more luxurious to justify this amount of money

Review 114:The hotel was located in an ideal place for my trip and was clean and comfortable

Review 115:No wifi in the annex rooms

Review 116:Lots of charm and character. Staff and service excellent. Food wasexcellent value for money and very good. Will visit stay again.

Review 117:Lack of secure Parking.

Review 118:The resturant food and service was superb.

Review 119:very limited unchanging menu in restaurant and bar

Review 120:excellent breakfasts

Review 121:the lack of a ground floor lounge close to the bar ans restuarant is a pity

Review 122:The location, atmosphere, excellent staff and a quality restuarant.

Review 123:The Car Park is very difficult if you have a large car.

Review 124:Staff, willingness to accomodate requests, position, quality of food.
