Reviews for The Bull Inn Lodges
Review 1:Payment taken on credit card would have liked to have been given the option to pay cash
Review 2:Quick check in and no check out just left. left alone to enjoy our stay
Review 3:This property is unmanned and access is by a key code entry system. Their alerting process failed in my case (no text received) and it took me until an hour after arriving to raise someone on the phone to be given the code so I could gain entry. There is limited hot water in the property - not enough to fill a bath (frustrating after a long day of walking). A few previous guests had commented on this in the guest book. The shower is heated separately and works well. The property is very nice, and both clean and comfortable, but they need to address the issue with the hot water and perhaps rethink their check in procedure.
Review 4:Very clean and comfortable room.
Review 5:No bad experience as such but we were not able to lock ourselves in for the night and thus felt the room was insecure when staying .
Review 6:Good sized bedroom and excellent bathroom. A coffee table in front of sofa would be good when eating breakfast.
Review 7:The advert leads you to assume that the Bull Inn lodges are owned by the neighbouring Bull Inn pub, however the pub say the lodges are nothing to do with them. No staff on site. No WiFi. The "continental breakfast" is a joke. No fire extinguishers.
Review 8:Spacious and clean, good bathroom
Review 9:We were under the impression from the web site that the pub on site was available for meals. This proved to wrong and we had to drive out in the dark and rain to find a meal.
Review 10:The lodge was fine, however there was no food available in the village for an evening meal. The breakfast was a DIY deal and very poor.
Review 11:no conditioner, hot, opened the window and have had to fight with the hornet :(
Review 12:nice, clean, comfortable room, everything was prepared for arriving, thank you
Review 13:We would have preferred croissants to bread rolls
Review 14:It was an extremely comfortable room with the added bonus of a terrace to spill out onto for breakfast in the morning - luckily we were staying with family so we could share the outside table
Review 15:The inn is located in the yard of a pub/ restaurant that has the same name but is not related with the property. The check in process is convenient although kind of awkward. There was only one picnic table available at the yard (which was OK for us as we were alone), more would have been better.
Review 16:The location is great for a night stay when you travel in the area. The room and its facilities are good, spotlessly clean and convenient.
Review 17:Payment should be taken on the morning of your stay using the card you book with - but if that doesn't work (e.g. your card expires) there's no card payment facilities onsite, which doesn't seem like the best set up! We could do a bank transfer though.
Review 18:Staff accomodated our request for early check in. Clean, tidy rooms & good location. Continental breakfast is OK - provided in room on arrival and consists of fruit, ham & cheese, rolls & cereal.
Review 19:It was a little difficult eating breakfast with no proper table to sit at and only one chair. Not keen on the rolls provided. Better information could be given regarding obtaining the door entry key code. It was not specifically stated that this would be sent via a text.
Review 20:The room and bathroom were very clean. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of space to move around. The small room fridge was also very handy.
Review 21:Drying line over bath would be useful. We were on a cycling trip and needed to wash kit out and dry overnight. Could perhaps make it clearer that they are a different business to the pub next door.
Review 22:Self check-in. Texted the key code. Rooms exactly what we wanted as stop over on a cycling trip. Pub next door does good beer and food. No pretensions, just what you want.
Review 23:Wall lights in room seemed to remain on slightly even when switched off, really strange and a bit annoying when going to sleep.
Review 24:Simple but comfortable with space enough for travel cot and to get a toddler organised and a decent bathroom. In room cold breakfast was perfect (although super-perfect might be croissants rather than rolls?!)
Review 25:The sofa bed was a bit small for two adults. But it was adequate for one nights stay. At the end of the day it's what you expect from a sofa bed
Review 26:The room was decorated to a high standard and was lovely and clean.
Review 27:Breakfast is absolutely fine and we loved it, but others might expect cooked breakfast. You can get this in the pub ( which has nothing to do with the lodges).
Review 28:The lodge is brand new and spotless. Clever idea, no keys and no reception, simply a key pad and number texted before arrival. Bed very comfortable and bathroom great. We expected continental breakfast as this is what is described, and this was delivered each day fresh to mini fridge.
Review 29:Karon kept us in touch at every step of the way. The whole check in/keycode entry process was so simple and the location and facilities were absolutely fantastic. Highly recommended.
Review 30:It would have been nice if the pub had done full English breakfast, but just a suggestion, not a dislike as we had lovely rolls, fresh ham and cheese and yoghurt and fruit supplied.
Review 31:Comfortable bed, lovely clean spacious accomodation, evrything you need, peace and quiet. Pub next door friendly people, wonderful food, near to Tenterden and a short drive to Rye.
Review 32:Nothing
Review 33:Excellent facilities and accomodation. Perfect location for Tenterden where we were visiting family. Breakfast was a lovely touch. Would easily stay again. 1 and 5 year old were very happy in the space.
Review 34:The bed was brilliant-oh, so comfortable and large enough as well. The bedding was spotless and they provided extra, good quality pillows. Spacious enough and the bathroom was modern and well lit. LargeTV with Freeview channels. Very good tea and biscuits.
Review 35:Nothing!
Review 36:The quality of the lodge was of a very high standard and it was really comfortable to both sleep and chill out. The Bull Inn next door served lovely food and owners were very friendly.
Review 37:I would agree with a comment in the visitors book, that for £115 per night, with a cold breakfast, fresh coffee would be expected.
Review 38:Good location, very clean, easy parking, plentiful towels, and good coat hangers
Review 39:not enough hot water in the tank to fill the bath tub. radiator not big enough to heat the room. outside generator too noisy for a good night's sleep. light bulbs flickering. the rooms are newly built and the teething problems are still felt by the client.
Review 40:newly built and clean rooms. comfortable bed. convenient location.
Review 41:No cooked breakfast or Internet Note pub in grounds is totally independent so no linked services, breakfast etc
Review 42:Clean Newly decorated Good bath fittings Good pub opposite
Review 43:This was a weekend away with my husband and one-year-old son. We arrived at a peaceful location clean tidy presentable and welcoming. However our criticism was that on our final morning the generator stopped working which meant no electricity for several hours and couldn't feed our son his bottle. No shops or facilities locally were open and this was quite a difficult and stressful morning. After several attempts to contact the owners they arrived on site repaired the generator and swiftly left. We were quite disappointed that no attempts were made to acknowledge or apologise for the inconvenience of this situation. Bit of a shame really.
Review 44:It was peaceful, clean, well decorated had a comfortable night sleep had good bedding and bed.
Review 45:Lack of taxi availability in the area.
Review 46:Very clean, fresh looking. Comfortable bed, spacious room. Great facilities. In the heart of a sweet little village, the pub next door serves excellent food.
Review 47:Well equipped, clean, comfortable & modern room tastefully decorated. Great breakfast mostly from local sources (fruits & cheeses) easy parking & next to a lovely pub with great beer and food.
Review 48:We stayed in the Bull lodges for one night, for to a local wedding and would highly recommended. They chalets are spacious with all amenities and a cute continental breakfast kept in the fridge when you arrive...so you can have it at any time. We loved the decor and was so much more comfortable than a normal hotel room or B and B Karon was friendly and helpful with our check in requirements I think the chalets were the nearest accommodation to the great barn wedding venue, however arranging taxis in Rolvedean is difficult so would suggest you book early....really early, like 2 weeks before!
Review 49:There was nothing to dislike.
Review 50:We were greeted by karon, who was very friendly and helpful, she advised us of places we could visit and how to get there. We especially liked the full, continental breakfast and the tea facility. It had all the comforts of home. It is very tranquil place to stay.
Review 51:Nothing to with the lodges but the staff at the bull inn were decidedly unhelpful.
Review 52:Contact with owner very helpful, room lovely. Nice breakfast left for us. We would definitely recommend.
Review 53:The only thing we didn't like was the breakfast. Sorry but that was the only thing I can think to say could be improved. Preparation was difficult without a table. A small one near the sofa would be adequate. Sorry to moan.
Review 54:What a lovely place. Newly built and we were made very welcome. This is much better than the web page and you must put some photo's on the web site Karon, so everyone can see what a great job you've done. Thanks for the lovely break. Well done to you both.
Review 55:Good comfortable accomodation
Review 56:It would have been good to have wifi.
Review 57:Lovely little lodge. Good facilities. Very modern, clean and cosy.
Review 58:Was a little too hot in the bathroom
Review 59:Great room and well equipped.
Review 60:It is a really nicely laid out modern room in a quiet setting.
Review 61:Too warm
Review 62:Fridge in room
Review 63:Perfect for a short stay in the Garden of England.
Review 64:Great modern, comfortable accommodations. Good location for exploring Kent and the coast. Local pub does great meals.
Review 65:cannot fault it one bit
Review 66:The rooms was exactly as they was advertised and they where so clean would recommend
Review 67:size of room and comfy bed. Excellent position for visiting local area. Pub next door serves great food.
Review 68:Our stay was too short to really evaluate this place, but fair overall but in need of a good breakfast to make it worth the charge.
Review 69:Great room and facilities. Comfy bed, lovely pub next door.
Review 70:nothing
Review 71:Being contacted by text Comfort and cleanliness of room
Review 72:Breakfast was poor, and did not see anyone to check in or out which felt a little odd!
Review 73:Lovely countryside.
Review 74:Had to go home
Review 75:I've paid a lot more for a lot less, I didn't want to review this, would rather keep it a secret amazing.
Review 76:The sink wasn't working properly.
Review 77:Cleanliness, comfort, great idea of a 'packed up' breakfast.
Review 78:Only minor gripe was sink drainage in bathroom v slow
Review 79:Comfortable bed, clean room, keycode entrance, breakfast platter
Review 80:The accommodation was well thought out and modern. Karon who we contacted was very helpful. Having the local on the doorstep was a bonus!
Review 81:The shower strength is pathetic
Review 82:We enjoyed the fact that the room had a sofa, we brought a dvd to watch, was amazing for valentines
