Reviews for Douglas Park Guest House
Review 1:Nothing.
Review 2:Superb visit to Douglas Park. The owners (Kenneth and Shona) made us very welcome. Rooms were lovely, a warm welcome right from the minute we arrived (including afternoon tea), plus an excellent breakfast. We look forward to visiting again in the future.
Review 3:Only one small complaint - I prefer my showers a bit less high-powered!
Review 4:The fabulous breakfasts, beautiful room, the kindness and professionalism of hosts Shona and Ken, and the little extras like the tea cakes and chocolates.
Review 5:A warm friendly welcome right from the start and nothing was too much trouble. I was even loaned an alarm clock to use for my stay as I'd forgotten mine! My room was beautifully decorated and furnished with Laura Ashley items and the bed/mattress seemed to be brand new as it was so comfortable and looked unused. A generous sized single bed too and not the narrow 'bunk bed' type that some guest houses provide. Very tasty (good Scottish fare!),well presented breakfasts and evening meals thanks to Ken and Shona's cooking skills. I have already recommended family and friends to visit Dunoon and stay here.
Review 6:Kenny and his wife are both lovely, great hosts and make amazing breakfast. All you need for a perfect relaxing stay in Dunoon. Will definitely be back!
Review 7:Nothing to say.
Review 8:My stay is tinged with some sadness as I make the trip to visit my grandparents and parents graves in Kilmun. But Ken and Shona are the perfect hosts and make me welcome and comfortable. I am not sure when I will visit again as I am moving to Australia but I will certainly stay at Douglas Park when I return.
Review 9:Shona and Ken are excellent hosts. We felt very much at home. They were very helpful suggesting local attractions. Breakfast was excellent and we would definitely go back on another occasion.
Review 10:Everything! A beutiful large room with a wonderful view, a great breakfast and excellent advice from very friendly landlords as to restaurants nearby.
Review 11:Even though stated in the description, the outside bathroom was more of an issue than we expected. You need to pass the dining room door to get to it in the morning.
Review 12:Very kind and helpful hosts!
Review 13:Only thing was I didnt stay long enough!
Review 14:Friendly owners, lovely rooms with everything you could want! Comfortable bed and fabulous breakfast. I will definatly go back
Review 15:Welcome from Ken and Shona was excellent. Friendly atmosphere. Guest House and facilities were excellent. Very clean and well furnished. Food was excellent.
Review 16:Only downside was that although the bathroom was private you were in view of the dining room and kitchen when leaving your bedroom en route to the bathroom.
Review 17:Bathrobes were provided which is a relief if you arrive unprepared. We required early booking in and the hosts were more than accommodating with this, thank you!
Review 18:It takes ~20 min walking to reach the town
Review 19:The house is so cosy, clean and beautiful. The view is great . The owner are so nice and friendly , they make you feel home
Review 20:This is a great property located in one of the most beautiful parts of Scotland. Our room was vast as was the bathroom. The breakfast was wonderful all provided by a very pleasant and professional hostess.
Review 21:My brother and I arrived late in the evening and they very kindly provided us with a very tasty chicken casserole which we ate while watching a stunning sunset.
Review 22:Beautiful location looking out over the water. We arrived too late to eat at a local restaurant but Shona whipped out a delicious home-cooked chicken casserole for us - just perfect!
Review 23:Internet on and off at times.
Review 24:Excellent location to stay. Good rooms, quality luxurious linen and room accessories. Friendly and helpful hosts and views to die for.
Review 25:High quality B&B with beautiful rooms. Friendly hosts providing great service and hospitality. Excellent cooked breakfast. Well located for exploring Argyle and surrounding areas. Highly recommended.
Review 26:Fine quality furnishings, bone china teaset with Tunnocks teacakes in the room, powerful shower, spotless, delicious breakfast with fresh fruit, and welcoming and helpful hosts. Also able to store bicycles overnight in secure garage.
Review 27:If you want to eat dinner you will need to either drive, take a taxi, or walk 2 miles each way. That's completely fine as long as they are clear about the distance when you ask - if I had known it was 2 miles I would not have decided to walk it, being very tired & hungry.
Review 28:Beautiful room & facilities, nice little touches everywhere, polite & helpful proprietors who were available if needed but not obtrusive. Absolutely delicious breakfast cooked to order - & home-made marmalade!
Review 29:Absolutely nothing to dislike!
Review 30:The whole experience was absolute delight! Fantastic breakfast, view, location, cleanliness, comfortable room. Super kind and helpful owners! Definitely will visit again.

Review 33:We got married in Dunoon and couldn't have picked a better place to stay for our little wedding. The room, the view, the breakfasts were all perfect, and S&K are the perfect hosts!
Review 34:Really, we couldn't fault it at all :-)
Review 35:We loved everything - stylish accommodation, fantastic service and delicious breakfasts, and as we were in the area for a cycling event - space in their garage for bikes and outdoor equipment Shona and Kenny made us very welcome and went above and beyond with much appreciated drying facility for all soaked cycling gear; getting up to cook us breakfast at a ridiculously early time and lighting a fire in the lounge on a dull afternoon. Can't wait to come back.
Review 36:From our arrival in heavy rain we were greeted with hot coffee and warm mince pies ...Kenny and Shona are so welcoming and their guest house is a very lovely place to stay, very smart rooms a super comfy bed and delicious breakfasts.. Review 41:I had a job finding the place. My SATNAV sent me to an address 1/2 a mile away. So clear, unambiguous directions are a must. There was nothing to dislike at the house. It was excellent.
Review 42:When I arrived I found I had made a mistake with the date of my booking and I was there a day earlier than expected. Nonetheless Ken and Shona found me a room (the best room in the house I think) and all was well. Comfortable bed, good night's sleep and great breakfast. Brilliant!

Review 51:The rooms are decorated with very nice bedspreads and wall coverings. The beds were very comfortable. They were very helpful on where to go for dinner and called to make sure there was room for us at dinner. The owners are very nice and you want to stay longer since they are so nice. They are right next to the water.
