Reviews for Bendigo Backpackers
Review 1:Not a BAD experience but to have had the aircon on for a while would have been nice as the room was hot with the westerly sun.
Review 2:Ease of contact with the manager/owner
Review 3:No dislikes feom me.
Review 4:Staff were friendly and helpful. More than expected. Kitchen was well placed, open and welcoming. Bed was comfy. Wifi was free. 10/10 for this place.
Review 5:Facilities were very very clean. Very efficient system. After I had booked via wotif, I received an SMS which gave me the front door code and my room number which was all I needed. I did not read the rest of the SMS which told me where my key would be. But due to the efficient system, I did not need the key!
Review 6:The premises was filthy, not a good stay! To much noise very unpleasant smells.
Review 7:This 'hostel' is more like a lovely country home. It's warm and inviting instead of cold and sterile. My (private double) room was perfect. Bathrooms and toilets all clean. Hot water: good. Kitchen: big and well equipped. Close to centre of town and gold mines.
Review 8:There were no tea bags provided at all during the stay. We never saw the staff in the four days we were there. The bedroom had no furniture apart from the beds - no side tables hanging space or mirror. Had to do my makeup and hair in the toilet!I couldn't charge my phone as all powerpoints were too close to the floor for my type of charger.
Review 9:Location was perfect for our visit as was the price considering there were four of us for three nights. The property has loads potential but needs some maintenance and a little tlc.
Review 10:No one was there to check us in and even after phoning a number that wasposted at the front door I never got a reply call but then had to ringanother number too much mucking around. Wouldn't stay again. Thereare cameras everywhere bar the bedrooms and bathroom. Didn't mentionthat in the add on booking.com
Review 11:Heating came on at 5pm and it was all directed to my room. The room was so hot I had to leave and go into common areas. Not happy.
Review 12:convenience, cleanliness, quiet
Review 13:The place was crowed with drunken australian tourists. The house manager did not show up, even though she was pretty much aware of this situation. It could be a nice place if the fellow travellers can behave and the house manager does care.
Review 14:It is quite near to the Deborah Goldmine. But there are plenty of other accommodations around the mine......
Review 15:Their was a guest sho slept in the lounge 80% of the time I was their , he snored very, very loadly and had bad b.o every time I entered the room you could smell it ,even after the guest had left you could still smell him
Review 16:Great location
Review 17:Michelle of Bendigo Backpackers was extremely well organised, texting to check my planned arrival time and ensuring everything ran smoothly and seamlessly. The accommodations are extremely well-maintained. I would stay here again in a flash.
Review 18:Price, all Victoria has gone 'yuppie' on prices, Tassie and SA are cheaper destinations with good scenery.
Review 19:Kitchen was immaculate, hostel is secure.
Review 20:Smokers although smoked in backyard it still drifted in. I prefer if it was non-smoking.
Review 21:Michelle gave helpful hints on area, had WiFi I didn't make use of,but, it was there.
Review 22:Not enough power points in the room
Review 23:Facility is clean, was not too crowded. Very flexible. Close to most of the needs: shops and transport. And most important is the owners are very nice.
Review 24:There were never any staff available for the time I stayed. I also didn't receive a confirmation from the accommodation so had to call to get access.
Review 25:In walking distance from main part of the city, bed was comfy and it was quiet.
Review 26:Owner only there for about an hour a day place just needs a few finishings. New door handle door that close. Niclu not need to be pushed hard. And make noise. Its close but need a little work
Review 27:Location. Kitchen. Rate
Review 28:Terrible customer service AC use for 10 mins in the evening only available when owner present. One key for a group of people. Terrible/small beds, no soap in shared bathroom!
Review 29:At first seemed great. Last day forgot somethings went back 3 hours later.. everything in the trash!
Review 30:a table in front of the sofa is a good idea but we´re sure there will be one soon.
Review 31:- support & help of the owners, a very friendly couple - equipment of the kitchen - WLAN of course & it worked perfect - using washing machine - clean & tidy
Review 32:a coffee table in the lounge room to put one's cups or other things on really wouldn't be a luxury....that big 'void' is not very appealing... the back room (#4 from memory) was quite stuffy, and some hooks on the wall to hang stuff on instead of having to drop everything on the floor would make a huge difference. apart from that a lovely place to stay and if heading to Bendigo again I'll certainly check in again :)
Review 33:the addition of another shower since my last visit, and the kitchen has had a good clean-up, awesome!
Review 34:The central cooler not enough cool air coming through as it was hot at the Bendigo hostel.
Review 35:Close to sights - Museums, Cathedral, shops and railway station. Great kitchen except need instruction book of how to use the multifunctional oven/microwave.
Review 36:Our room smelt strongly of mothballs or some cleanser. Bed was thin and creaked a lot. No hanging space or hooks in the room
Review 37:Clean. Tidy. Well equipped. Good location.
Review 38:the price was far to much for what we got. the bed was uncomfortable, the sheets were stained and the bed was very squeaky. it was an old house with not much to offer. when other guests used the bathrooms or walked around the noise went through the whole place. the front door security only worked once, so used the opened back door.
Review 39:location to city center.
Review 40:Did not have face to face contact with any staff. Walked in and no one spoke. I went straight to my room and locked myself in. Did not know who or how many others were in the house. Left early without a shower because I was not feeling comfortable. Glad to leave. Probably wont use it again.
Review 41:Access was easy. Liked the text to give code to get in.
Review 42:We had another drunken guest disrupt our sleep early in the morning to try to get in our dorm room.
Review 43:Facilities were secure and easy to find. Kitchen looked modern and bathrooms were clean.
Review 44:Pillow was a bit on the thin side.
Review 45:Close to the town centre but in a quiet location. Free parking on the road during the night if the 4 parking places are taken. Free wifi. Clean and tidy in the dorm. Kitchen well equipped. Garden area out the back. Good shower instead of having to dance round looking for the water.
