Reviews for Lumley Fee Bunkhouse

Review 1:Ww stayed in room 1 for 2 nights 23/24 November and it was great. We used the school room and kitchen and both were really great places to hang out. The kitchen had all you needed for food prep. Other guests were present, group pf male construction workers and I disagree with the last reviewers comments, they were polite and courteous whenever our paths crossed. Even offering to make us a hot drink. The Wheatsheaf serves great food and is a lovely place to enjoy an evening. Hopefully we will be returning soon as we enjoyed long walks in the surrounding area.

Review 2:Being in the upstairs room the noise from the communal area below did disturb us. Some guests (3 male construction workers) were very inconsiderate being very noisy between 12-1am and quite rude when asked to be quiet. This is the downside of no onsite staff but otherwise it was great.

Review 3:Beautiful decor, spacious, comfortable

Review 4:The Bunkhouse was modern and very comfortable and a great base for our stay. The local pub, The Wheatsheaf, is a gem of a place with good beer and excellent food. The landlady Nicki proved to be very helpful, even picking us up and dropping us off in the pub minibus.

Review 5:Comfy beds! The pub which is partnered with the hotel Layout of the rooms Decor in general Cosy living room Possibility to hire the whole venue for a large party

Review 6:was told we could hand our keys back from 8.30 or 9.00 and nobody appeared till 9.30 so we were hanging around not knowing when someone was going to appear and we wanted to carry on our journey...but she was most apologetic when she eventually arrived...

Review 7:It did everything we wanted...we just stayed for one night on our way to Carlisle it was clean and tidy in a lovely location nd good value for money...

Review 8:The bedroom was above the lounge and it appears there is no sound proofing between the floor. The two single beds pushed together to make a double are on wheels and every time you move in the night the bed travels across the wooden floor! (Not what your thinking)

Review 9:It's a fantastic location with amazing views. Dog friendly too. We stayed in room 5 upstairs. Well equipped room and bathroom. Lovely decour and overall a delightful room. A travel cot was also provided for our baby.

Review 10:The accommodation is in a beautiful setting. We were able to include our dog on the holiday. We had a bunk room with private bathroom and although we did not use them we also had the use of a large living/dining room area and very organised kitchen plus outdoor seating area.

Review 11:none

Review 12:The area just outside the place has a great view and thus the great location. The room and kitchen are clean and well stocked with cooking tools for preparing a meal.

Review 13:We did correspond several times about extra towels and bedding by email, and also called to verify this early on the day of our arrival. We then arrived near midnight surprised this never happened, which was very inconvenient for us.

Review 14:The place is absolutely beautiful, the facilities are sweet, nicely designed and very clean. There's everything you need in the kitchen (well, some public use oil and spices won't hurt) and the living area is very welcoming. We went for a lovely walk to a nearby castle and enjoyed it much better than the crowded lakes. We also had dinner at the bar, which was excellent and with wonderful atmosphere.

Review 15:Superb luxury Bunkhouse!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the facilities were excellent. The location was great too. As a family with 2 young children I would definitely recommend. We also had dinner at the Wheatsheaf and the food was really lovely. I think the customer service of the staff and management is superb (how often can you say that?). I had no hair dryer and although I was informed there should have been one, in at least one of the rooms, the Manager brought me her personal hair dryer... I mean WOW!! We will be back xx

Review 16:Found other diners at Wheatsheaf incredibly annoying..it really was a shame because the fiid was great..absolutely no fault of staff but could not return. Kitchen at bunkhouse was fantastic though which was a great bonus.

Review 17:Location and facilities were fantastic

Review 18:There was some noise coming through from downstairs through a gap at big window from people having food at 12ish but the kids slept through it.

Review 19:The area and helpfulness of the staff at the pub, also the kitchen for getting our breakfast.

Review 20:There was nothing to disklike

Review 21:Everything, the bunk house was lovely, the room was so nice, beds comfortable and the view was wonderful. The Wheat sheaf also worth a visit for meals and breakfast.

Review 22:absolutely fascinating location. A lot of good thoughts werde dedicated to this place. Wonderful living rooms, beds, shower, perfectl y equipped kitchen and the greatest view on earth.

Review 23:Great location, excellent facilities and very comfortable. The Wheat sheaf pub (owned by the same company) was excellent and we had a fabulous meal there with outstanding service from the friendly staff

Review 24:The walls are quite thin, so you can hear other guests quite easily

Review 26:Amazing! Lovely location, very clean rooms, excellent shared facilities and delicious food from The Wheatsheaf with friendly staff. Only wish we could have stayed longer. Will definitely be returning!

Review 27:the beds were so comfy I selpt for 10 hours and still didn't want to get up. I came with a group of adults with learning disabilities and I was able to support them to cook their own breakfast in the kitchen witch was stocked with tea and coffee etc. we had a problem on the first night with the fire alarm going off, we phoned the number provided and someone was there within 5 mins. I can not rate this place enough

Review 28:Unfortunately noise carried very well through the bunkhouse, we were disturbed by a party of adults in the living room the first night, and by young children in the mornings. Also, the photos on booking.com led us to believe we'd booked the large attic room, but when we arrived we found we'd been given a small room with bunkbeds. The staff were apologetic though, and gave us a discount.

Review 29:The communal area was lovely, and the beds were incredibly comfortable.

Review 30:There is only one double room and I thought I had booked this so was slightly disappointed when I arrived.

Review 31:Lumley Bunkhouse was very quirky and quaint. Set next to a church in the old school house and was full of character. Room had 4 bunks in it with only 2 of us travelling so it is great value for money. Breakfast was at the Wheatsheaf down in the Village which was good. We went to the pub the evening before and for a Tuesday evening it was absolutely packed. They have just been voted pub of the year for the area.

Review 32:An amazing place to stay, food at the wheatsheaf pub is gorgeous would recommend the breakfast, facilities in the bunkhouse are brilliant too, will definitely be returning for a visit again.
