Review 2：Rooms very spacious withe excellent super king bed..staff very helpful. Only one complaint and that was the room was very cold wen we arrived.

Review 4：Staff were always there to give shelling hand no matter what service was needed. Rooms were very comfortable and spacious. Also visited the restaurant for food and it was outstanding for service and taste.

Review 7：The only problem was that someone had been smoking in our room previously. It was very apparent when we walked in. The window had been left wide open by the cleaning staff. Room 18.

Review 8：Location was excellent, right next to golf course, driving range and American Golf shop. Dinner and breakfast was good quality and evening staff very helpful. Breakfast staff omitted to ask if we wanted a cooked breakfast but as we were only wanted continental it wasn't a problem.

Review 9：Apart from a payment issue, being asked to pay £10 for 2 hours use of leisure which was supposed to be included in the overall cost and clearly stated I. Booking.com literature on the gailes hotel. Note the costs asked are per person not per room. So if you wanted to go several times between the morning and night you could accumulate a big bill. Plus the leisure facilities were 100 yards from the reception externally

Review 11：Room temperature was at least 50 degrees Celsius when we arrived... was absolutely unbearable to get changed in as someone had put electric heating on full in mild conditions. Offered us another room but we were going to a wedding and did not have time. Cocktails good and breakfast good.

Review 13：The staff from reception to catering, were allways cheerfull, helpfull and nothing seemed to much trouble. The food was well cooked and servings plentifull.

Review 14：I had a bad fall out the bath on the Saturday morning , my husband and myself didn't get the chance to have breakfast so can't comment on it . Im still in cross house hospital I have a broken breat bone plus other things going on don't know how long I am going to be in !!!!!

Review 16：We had a room adjoined with another and the TV could be clearly heard in the evening and early morning. The room was also next to the maid service area as a result it was noisy in the morning.

Review 18：spa facilities close at 6pm on weekends! yes you read that correctly! a golf hotel with great facilities that close early at weekend. obviously to suit staff needs rather than guests. massage room was like being in the middle of glasgow central station outrageously noisy with every word in reception being heard, paper thin walls, every door opening closing, telephone ringing etc I did complain as it ruined by relaxation and made me more stressed, but no one took any notice.

Review 19：Food good, staff polite and friendly rooms clean but over use of dreadfully strong chemical air freshner meant we had to ask to see different rooms until we found one least affected but it was still awful. Thoughtful owners in other ways, so pls have a rethink on this.

Review 49：The very kind receptionist did all she could to able us to get into a room so we could get changed for the funeral we were attending, after a 6 hour drive from sheffield. Very helpful.

Review 50：We would have liked to use the sauna but were told we required swimming costumes which we had not packed and they could not be provided by the hotel. So a big negative for us! We ate at the hotel and I had the fish chips and mushy peas. I think Chef had previously worked on the railways as the chips were the size of railway sleepers with the fish mounted on top and clearly mushy peas were in short supply as I had a teaspoon full.

Review 62：One thing I did not like was on the first night my wife ordered a gammon steak which was very tough we should have sent it back but we are not the type that does these things silly us. My meal and all the other meals we had were very good. The breakfast choice was fantastic. So one bad steak won't deter me from going back . Overall another good stay.

Review 66：When arriving in our room (no. 27) there was a most unpleasant odour. We searched for the cause and found it to be in the bathroom. It was the wood surrounding the mirror, shelves and sink - water had obviously seeped into the mdf over a period of time and swollen it, leaving it smelling of dampness. We opened our window and kept it open which helped. We didn't complain as we were only sleeping in the room, but I think other guests most probably will. It will not deter us from staying again though.

Food was not as good as it should have been for the price eg afternoon tea:- bread was stale, scones were tasteless and dinner I can make a far tastier risotto than the one served to me and the fish cake starter was sadly lacking in enough fish they should be called potato cakes!

Review 80：This is a favourite destination for us and after a bad experience the night before we had an excellent time at Gailes. Staff are friendly, helpful and polite. Rooms and en-suites were spotless, well done housekeeping. Food is locally sourced, fresh, well cooked and presented. We sadly left but were totally chilled out.
