Reviews for Gradlon

Review 1:Poor quality wifi. Although the hotel seemed to have few visitors in this off season, I was not allowed to have the room until 2 p.m.

Review 2:Good location and the directions from the train station were well marked

Review 3:Great location and just over the road from the historical part of town. We were fortunate enough to secure private parking in one of the locked garages the hotel owns down the side street. As our car was full of luggage on display it was a great benefit.

Review 4:We liked everything though a little more variety at breakfast would be nice, and the rooms are a bit small, though lovely.

Review 5:Proximity to trains/buses and old town. The owners were very gracious and the hotel itself is comfortable. Decently priced as well.

Review 6:A minor quibble, but my bedside table was not clean and could have used a quick polish. No comfortable armchair in 'salon', only very uncomfortable sofabed and two upright chairs. It was not possible for the bar to supply us with wine by the glass in the evening: a whole bottle was offered! Don't know what the problem was, unless turnover, but we heard another couple being told the same thing the following evening. Rather depressing 'games' area with TV on permanent advertising loop and a very lonely fish on its own in a large fishtank, apart from a few hoover fish. More fish needed! And perhaps a classier tourism video with some tranquil music? Parking limited in hotel car park - we were unable to book space - and it was impossible to park on the road outside, so loading and unloading tricky. However there was a small pay car park a hundred metres away.

Review 7:A small salon adjoining the bedroom gave space for a family to be together and for a couple to spread out, which was useful. The double divan bed was very comfortable. The bedroom overlooking the interior courtyard was very quiet. The bedding supplied was appropriate for the temperature and was of good quality and very clean. Several large umbrellas supplied by front door in case of inclement weather, which we needed on the last evening of our stay.

Review 8:Lovely old fashioned hotel with lots of character. Do not be put off by frontage as hotel is very comfortable inside. Lovely room and bathroom, great breakfast! Parking bit of a problem.

Review 9:A bit tedious logging into the wifi each time but it worked well enough.

Review 10:Friendly, helpful staff in simple hotel near the cathedral and town centre. Comfortable room making for an enjoyable stay with a good breakfast to start each morning. Would definitely go again.

Review 11:Nothing 'not to like' here. The hotel is immaculate in every detail and is conveniently placed in the heart of the city to have easy access to restaurants, bars, shops and entertainment

Review 12:The whole 'stay' experience was super. A particular mention of praise has to go to the extremely helpful, friendly management and staff, who clearly go above and beyond the normal 'call of duty' to ensure their guests (and pets) are well looked after ! A huge thank you to you all

Review 13:A small hotel, low tariff so we got what we paid for so no complaints. They even had a lock-up garage around a tiny corner.

Review 14:Very helpful staff & friendly. (Have been the proprietors - not sure.

Review 15:Had asked for paid hotel parking to be available but it wasn't and the hotel said they had not received your request.

Review 16:Pretty hotel, pretty town and staff very pleasant and helpful.

Review 17:The hotel has its character in a positive way (that is so appreciated after chain hotels). Very comfortable, nicely decorated, good sound proof. Just accross the old town

Review 18:Hard to find parking and there is no stopping at the front of the hotel.

Review 19:Clean room, hotel is close to older part of the city. Nice fireplace in the lounge. The best part of the city is on the other side of the river - a little disappointing.

Review 20:Nothing wrong with the hotel but was disappointed with Quimper and the many down and outs. Perhaps we didn't find the best areas!

Review 21:Friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, able to take our dog and it had a garage for the car

Review 22:Hand held shower in the bathroom The large hole in the hall floor - covered by a mat, it is fine if you remember to go around it

Review 23:Spacious, comfortable room on the ground floor away from the main street Good location within easy walking distance of the old town Relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff

Review 24:Helpful staff, good location for seeing Quimper. The best thing was the breakfast, which was delicious and by far the best we had on our stay. Served in pleasant courtyard, and available till at least 11am.

Review 25:Our bedroom which was supposedly a 'superior' room was like a cave. it was on the ground floor, across the courtyard from reception, so everyone could see into the room, even from the road outside. The toilet and shower room didn't have any windows or working ventilation. The room smelt musty and was very dark.

Review 26:Breakfast room, clean and fresh

Review 27:Hotel was in a central location but not noisy. Staff were very helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent, although not the cheapest!

Review 28:noise from atrium immediately outside windows, no shower in "superior room" bathroom, no ventilation in toilet or bathroom, no parking

Review 29:good size room, good bed, kettle in room, storage space, armchairs and table, lighting

Review 30:On arrival We were asked if we would like Breakfast @ 12 euro each.......It seemed a bit expensive...so we declined. On leaving I looked at my reciept and realized i had already paid in advance for breakfast....this was not clear on my print-out from yourselves and the staff quoting the price confused me ....I had forgotten exactly what I had booked ....It would be better if it had stated B+B on my print-out

Review 31:The Location

Review 32:room cold at night

Review 33:great location close to the old town

Review 34:Would have liked a restaurant on site

Review 35:Proximity to centre, superb breakfast, quietness

Review 37:The room after we asked to be moved

Review 38:Parking difficulty

Review 39:Very friendly and helpful staff. Secure garage for our bicycles.

Review 40:Convenient location, helpful staff.

Review 41:Parking during a festival, nightmare!!

Review 42:Great location. Quimper is a small town so great access to everything. Very friendly helpful staff.

Review 43:I loved the breakfast, clean white cloth, hot coffe in porcellain jug, lovely fresh bread!

Review 44:The staff was very polite.

Review 45:Perfect location. Able to walk to all key ares.

Review 46:Helpful staff Quiet room

Review 47:Lack of parking for hotel guests

Review 48:Well appointed bathroom

Review 49:Weak Wi-Fi

Review 50:Excellent garage for the motorcycle

Review 51:Great location Lovely decor Friendly and helpful host

Review 52:Good location, near the downtown. Garage is available for a good price.

Review 53:Nothing

Review 54:Everything!

Review 55:Wifi was a bit slow and switched off.

Review 56:Breakfasts, staff, location - good for sights and for access to other towns.

Review 57:too expensive for what you get

Review 58:location

Review 59:There was nothing in particular that we disliked.

Review 60:We liked the décor, the amount of room space downstairs, the breakfasts and the situation.

Review 61:Very helpful staff Quick and easy access to the centre of Quimper Secure parking

Review 62:Great location and most friendly, helpful staff.

Review 63:Room for the disabled, toilet too high.

Review 64:Location and kettle in the room

Review 65:No lift

Review 66:Spacious, comfortable , clean

Review 67:All fine

Review 68:Comfortable bar, library area, courtyard.

Review 69:Lovely comfy friendly beautifully quaintly decorated hotel in great proximity to beautiful Quimper.

Review 70:Not very personal atmosphere

Review 71:Location close to Main Square and Cathedral

Review 72:matrass (very hard)to sleep breakfast quality was medium

Review 73:location; friendly staff

Review 74:Bit of a schlep to find free parking

Review 75:Central location; comfy room; nice staff

Review 76:The parking was limited and if that wasn't available then it was difficult to find a parking slot.

Review 77:The room was very nicely decorated with a modern bathroom but keeping a french feel about it.

Review 78:Style. Courtyard. Friendly. Very Bretagne. Comfortable beds. Quiet. En suite was excellent. Would definitely recommend. Checking in and out times very generous. Parking not available but we found a convenient car park just right off roundabout and up the hill which only cost €7.50 for 12 hours(closes at 7.30PM open again at 7.30am therefore those hours don't count. Pay when you leave)

Review 79:Lack of car parking at the hotel, which is on a main road. Just 2 parking places for a 20 room hotel!! We found street parking nearby so it wouldn't stop us going again but it was a minor inconvenience.

Review 80:Nice hotel, comfortable large room, very clean. Helpful friendly staff. Just a 5 minute walk from the city centre. Would be happy to return!

Review 81:Breakfast, at €12, was coffee/tea, baguette, a non-butter (lard) croissant, orange juice, yogurt. I consider lard croissants inedible. However, they did deliver breakfast to my room when I wasn't feeling well, which was nice.

Review 82:Decor in public areas and in rooms is warm and inviting. No parking provided, but easily found on-street parking. Easy few blocks walk into town center.

Review 83:Picked Hotel as location looked close for walking into town.. which is was, (only a abut 400 yds from the main square) very friendly staff who did there best to speak English, (even provided an umbrella when it rained heavily) - Breakfast was optional but work having. Our room was comfortable with a King size bed and en-suite bath/shower.- would stay there again and recommend, excellent value for money - travel with friends who thought it was a Great Find. Parking is "On street" although they have a small locked garage which if you book early enough they will allocate a space for a small fee (10 euros in my case a night)

Review 84:Little if anything to dislike; the need to keep logging back in to use the Wi-Fi was annoying, but that's not the hotel's fault.

Review 85:Nice old townhouse on a quiet street just outside the centre - easy walking distance to the Cathedral, museums etc. Very courteous and obliging staff; excellent breakfast (far better than most French hotels in my experience) and served, amazingly, until noon: the most convenient arrangement I have ever come across. The rooms were clean, nicely renovated and comfortable; only the bed was a bit short, so that my feet stuck out at the end - and I am not especially tall!

Review 86:Hotel should have a more prominent display of its name...we drove past it three times before we realised it was there!!!!!!

Review 87:garage facilities ; helpful staff; quality of the breakfast .Room was nice and warm.

Review 88:An old fashioned place with up to date comforts, on the edge of the old city. Newly renovated stylish bathooms and typically French wallpapery bedrooms with some antiques. Reassuringly warm in cold december. Excellent value.

Review 89:Only garage parking 10 Euro extra! Otherwise street parking if you can find it.

Review 90:Friendly welcome. Tasteful furnishings and comfortable. Lovely little inner courtyard area to sit in.

Review 91:I didn't like the garish wallpaper in the "superior" room. It was very oppressive. One of the managers was friendly, the other not so.

Review 92:SLOW wifi...almost unusable, could use an update, bathtub had ONLY a hand-held sprayer...very annoying, door starts beeping if you have it open even for a few seconds, limited parking

Review 93:generous bathroom size, proximity to town, courtyard, staff, king-sized bed, proximity to other areas of Brittany, public space by lobby

Review 94:Limited and difficult parking, hotel in general just not up to the standards I expected. I was told that, when asked by Booking.com if they had air conditioning they said yes. They don't. In the ground-floor rooms you had a choice of privacy or ventilation, as windows opened onto the courtyard and the drapes kept them shut. No elevator either.

Review 95:Central location, attractive courtyard, you could have housekeeping clean your room late in the afternoon. The lady on the desk late at night was extremely pleasant and helpful.

Review 96:No air conditioning (won't matter most of the year)

Review 97:Close to city centre Very nice staff Comfortable rooms Excellent breakfast Tea/coffee making in bedroom

Review 98:Nothing.

Review 99:Great staff, very kindly concierge. The room was very clean, very well decorated. Great breakfast and great decoration in the whole hotel. easy to find a car park in the street around.

Review 100:Can not fault the hotel or the staff,

Review 101:Very friendly, spotlessly clean hotel. The staff went out of their wayto help try to sort out an issue we had with our dog. They were happy tohelp with advice on where to go and what to see including the areasaround Quimper. Breakfast was well prepared and varied. Within a shortwalk of the city of Quimper and to the museums and cafes of Quimper. Iwould definitely return.

Review 102:Since it was in the process of having its exterior painted, the green net covering made it difficult to spot from the street -- but once we found it, it was very easy to spot !

Review 103:Superior Staff helpfulness with dining reservations and parking the car. Excellent location. Good breakfasts. Value price, Guest friendly lobby with lots of reading materials and games. Also, it was easy to sleep in the quiet and comfortable room.

Review 104:Free parking in the vicinity was difficult to secure. We paid 10 euros a day for their secure parking, which was the only thing we didn't like.

Review 105:Everything except the parking

Review 106:Access to hotel parking is tedious, garage door can be opened only by hotel staff

Review 107:Great location, a short walk from the center of town. Room with a nice view of hotel garden

Review 108:My 80 year old mother did not find the bed comfortable - she thought that the springs had "gone" on one side. I found my bed to be very comfortable.

Review 109:The location of the hotel is good, about 5-10 mins walk from the cathedral and shopping area. The rooms a beautifully decorated (excellent showrooms) and the owners were extremely helpful. Breakfast was delightful and overall I enjoyed my stay.

Review 110:The hotel had a patio but they did not seem to take so good care of it.

Review 111:We had a big room and a big bathroom (for disabled people actually, although we are not disabled) . The room and the beds were big and comfortable but not quite so charming as we expected from the description of the hotel. The hotel staff was nice and helpful.

Review 112:Our bedroom was near the road and that was a problem because there was not air conditioning and we had to open the window during the night due to the heat. The noise and the lights didn't let us rest.

Review 113:We found Grandlon as a comfortable hotel with obliging staff , nice bedroom and lovely bed-clothes.

Review 114:It was listed as having parking but there are only 3 carspaces and thestreet parking nearby was inadequate.

Review 115:Staff were friendly and the hotel was quiet

Review 116:The room we had was a little small (but the bathroom was fine).

Review 117:the location (near the town centre), The nicely decorated rooms and other spaces. Riendly staff

Review 118:Bedroom rather small. Exterior a few drunks hung outside the bus stop not a pretty sight for families walking towards the square.

Review 119:Welcoming,staff pleasant & helpful, comfortable in an old fashion way.

Review 120:When we arrived we were unsure about the location (not on a very pretty street), but it turned out to be just 3 minutes walk from the main square of the town so was really good.

Review 121:Very friendly atmosphere and helpful staff. Pretty courtyard garden where you can have afternoon tea. Very quiet, almost tranquil feeling about the place. We really enjoyed our stay. Although the exterior is not very promising, once you get inside this is a lovely little hotel.

Review 122:Very warm welcome, everyone there was helpful and happy to help. Very nice room, quiet location yet 5 minutes walk from town center, about 10/15 from station.

Review 123:Our stay at the Gradlon was the high-point of our accommodatiosnduring the two-weeks we vacationed in France. The room was spacious,well-appointed and beautifully kept. The concierge was very cordialand helpful. I would highly recommend the Gradlon to anyone travellingto Brittney.

Review 124:2 euro charge for overnight cycle storage, the first time I have everbeen charged for this facility in 15 years of cycle touring in France.Breakfast rather pricey.

Review 125:Good sized bedroom and bathroom.

Review 126:We were very pleased with the location and with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The rooms were very comfortable and we would recommend your hotel to others.
