Reviews for Creta Beach Hotel
Review 1:Bad internet connection, we couldn't use interntet during our whole holiday. It should be a double bed instead of two single bed for couples.
Review 2:Menü was very rich. Hotel staff was helpfull and kind. Room was clean, comfortable and good design. Especially the recepcionist was very helpfull. She explained us everything about Crete. ( historical place, touristic place etc. )
Review 3:The furniture really needs refurbishing. We had a really squeaky bed that would sometimes wake our kid up if we tossed/turned in the bed. If you are going to this hotel, bring cash - there are no ATMs in the immediate vicinity and Carrefour would not accept my vPay card. Ironically, most of the smaller merchants did, though. Also, I really hated the fact that taxis don't have meters and the drivers drive like madmen!
Review 4:The staff was AMAZING! Thank you to all! The food was quite nice and the gardens are absolutely beautiful - the photos i have on me at this time do not do them justice! The location is great, because you are no more than 150m away from the hotel's own private beach. The hotel is very conveniently located, you can get to it from the airport by cab, for about 20-25 euros. The tour bus will pick you up no more than 200m away from the hotel if you want to tour Heraklion and Knossos.
Review 5:The only negative points we can tell you, concern the restaurant. 1) There were signs that they would take care about food allergies, but when we told them nothing happened. They offered us to tell us which food was lactose-free, which was fries and one sort of meat. Well, we are used to that, so we weren’t mad. But we could not get the sense of that sign, because we were able to see by ourselves, which food was lactose-free. 2) The second point - and that is inacceptable - was that the water, which was part of the all-inclusive concept, was out of a water pipe. It smelled and taste extremely of chlor, but we trusted the waiters, that it only were the glasses out of the dish washer and not the water itself. We tested it three days until we got stomach ache. When we stopped drinking this water for 24 hours, we both got better, so it was clear, that it was all about the water. We didn’t drink it again and didn’t got stomach ache again. The case couldn't be any clearer for us. In the restaurant we asked for closed bottles, but they told us, that this was not part of their all-inclusive concept. At the reception we ordered water bottles for the fridge at our room, which they gave us one day for free. Then we bought water bottles at the supermarket. Well, nothing more needs to be added.
Review 6:We are two friends (girls), which were for the first time in Greek to relax from examens. Staff: 24h reception. All important staff was fluent in English, German, French and of course Greek. There were animation teams for German, English and French speaking guests; Accouterment & comfort: We booked a double bed room and got a great room in a bungalow. We think that every room you can book is in a bungalow, because we saw no extra complex for that. We saw it as an advantage, because it’s very quiet and private. Everything necessary was in the room: air conditioner, towels, ..., but also flat screen TV, modern furniture and clean beds, a hair dryer, a fridge and free Wi-Fi in the whole complex… Towels were changed every day, cleaning service removed all your trash and cleaned the floor, plus: there were some extra towels for the beach; Food: We booked “all inclusive”. You could book lunch packets at the previous evening. Also you had one coupon for one dinner à la carte for free. The buffet was definitely okay. There was a lot of German and French food. (We would have liked more traditional Greek food.) The stuff swapped empty plates like every five minutes and was very attentive. The head waiter welcomed every guest in their mother tongue, which was very impressive; Location: the complex had bungalows, a reception, a restaurant, a bar, an amphitheatre for animation shows, places for sport, massage places, a pool and a direct connection to the private beach. In the immediate vicinity there were restaurants, supermarkets and bus stations; price-performance ratio: for young people it was definitely affordable, because of the mentioned points; extras: With a special offer you can book at the reception, you can have an “Open bus tour” through Heraklion for hop on and hop off at sightseeings of your interest.
Review 7:buffet: poor quality. Wifi only in certain areas. Horrible, ridiculous animations. Very low quality/price ratio despite nice charming infrastructures
Review 8:Swimming pool, charming bungalows, very calm, nice view from the terrace during sunset, private beach, good location
Review 9:where should i start? *depressed rooms like the ones in thriller movies based on a story of a murder in a cheap hotel room. *you have to pay for the deposit and hotel is not responsible for the items that stollen. luckily room has gaps big enough that only bugs and some small mammals can enter your room. thieves are usually considered as big mammals. *plates, glasses briefly all the dishes were dirty, we disgust and couldn't have breakfast last 2 days of our stay *every sign, entertainment, tv channels are in french. So dont go this hotel and if you don't speak french you definately don't go this hotel *everyday same menu on meals. *wireless, which we manage to receive a signal once was worse than horrible. *beach is close to the rooms but the sea? what was that? every single second its too windy wavy. *Aaaand most disturbing thing oscar goes to the bugs that you have to share your room with, isolation of the room was surrealistic *o bbtw, what was that smell in the rooms? varnish? thank you for ruining our honeymoon!
Review 10:They let us sleep in the room we paid! thanks for that!
Review 11:The staff were really superb. Service was excellent. If your aim is just to relax and enjoy the beach and pool then this is the perfect place. The Spa is also a must try!
Review 12:We were living in bungalow #309 two weeks, the hotel is in a good and quiet place close to Heraclion with very friendly staff, thanks to George Perakis, Sophocles, Michalis (a la carte), reception Theo, Yannis, Despina and all others, varied and tasty food, cleanliness. We woul like to came back again.
Review 13:All animation is on French. Not for the children.
Review 14:Everything is perfect. Thanks to Fei and Mr.Sakis. Hotel is on the beach. It's about 150-200 meters yo the beach from the fares bungalow. Restoraunt is perfect.
Review 15:There is nothing not to like about this place. It's the best I have ever been to. Don't hesitate any longer, book a room here. You won't be dissapointed.
Review 16:EVERYTHING! This place is stunning! All the staff extremely friendly, food is amazing, selection, variety is really huge. we were offered a free upgrade to a room with direct access and terrace to the sandy beach. We were also allowed to stay in our room on the day of departure till 6.45 PM without any extra charge for the late check out. We are so amazed and we will come back for sure!
Review 17:The hotel is a great place to chose if you get a nice bungalow/room (there are rooms like on the fotos, but also great number of other type of rooms). Also it is more suited for families with small children and elder people. When you take an all inclusive, spend all the time at the beach or pool (no sports), and in the eve enjoy the animation programm (the german and french animation team have also programms during daytine). Dinner finishes at nine.... if this is what u want- you make a great choice here.
Review 18:Very nice staff, smiling, trying to arrange nice stay for you Good location in ammoudara, next to the city Big beach and sea side, terrasses at the restaurant at breakfast/dinner Bungalow type of venue with green around you Relaxation at facial treatments performed by Maria
Review 19:The hotel was very clean, the staff 100/100 every thing was 100%. We were 6 persons 4 y 12,16,&3 adults and all of us agree that this is one of the best places we have ever been.
Review 20:You can't feel the all inclusive experience. Unfortunately the variety of food is very low and it's quality is less than basic They didn't give us liquid soap every day. They gave us feeling that they are trying to to save moeny on us Most of the time we didn't get any Wi-Fi connection.
Review 21:The staff is service oriented The beach is beautiful Very nice desserts
Review 22:Pool shut. No mention when booking. Rooms not comfy and ant infested. Food awful. Facilities old and run down
Review 23:Awful hotel. Worst 4 star I've ever stayed at
Review 24:Everything .... Reception staff happy, polite & friendly on arrival. All info given about the hotel & eveb though half board is usually breakfast & evening meal, we were given the chance to have a lunch option if we wanted to go out for an evening. Was given a free upgrade, fee wi-fi & was taken to our room on a buggy along with our luggage. Beautiful little bungalow, with good quality fixtures & fittings. Was exceptionally clean & well looked after. Loved the items that the housekeeper made from clean towels on the beds every day ie, a swan, flower etc. etc. Restaurant area clean & well kept by very friendly & polite staff. Great choice of buffet style food, something for everyone. Wine, beer & soft drinks included in meal plan was a nice surprise. Loved the Greek music & dancing evening which was a great surprise as it was out of season. Gardens well maintained - played crazy golf for a giggle but did not go in the pool as weather was not warm enough. Overall a perfect stay - thankyou Creta Beach
Review 25:Not keen on seeing the power station down the coast. Rocks just off the beach. The dogs in the grounds.
Review 26:Lots of hot water and heating in the room - the weather had turned quite chilly in early November. Pleasant professional and smiling staff even at the very end of the season. Particularly good night receptionist, accommodation manager and friendly and helpful porter. Able to walk into Heraklion. General comfort level was very high The gardens
Review 27:Wi-Fi connection is not the greatest and could do with router boosters
Review 28:Friendliness of staff from Hotel Manager to Maitre D' to waitresses, bar staff, receptionist and cleaners all made you feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble, accom was clean and food excellent, we will return here again, fantastic holiday thank you
Review 29:Most guests were German and there was not much information in English so we almost missed the Greek dancing on Greek Night. The main course at dinner was a strange mix of foods - we would have preferred genuine Greek food.
Review 30:Right on the beach with beautiful gardens this hotel has great staff and lots of sunbeds on the beach and around the salt water pool. Near Heraklion for sightseeing by local bus and various sporting activities on site. Our spacious room was right on the beach. Huge buffet selection at meals. Salads and deserts very good.
Review 31:The only English language television channel is BBC World News.
Review 32:Very convenient location by the beach, and a short bus journey into Heraklion or Knossos. Good variety of food on the buffet and friendly catering staff.
Review 33:Smell of the room, the hotel was a little old, if you came after 10 am it was very hard to find a place at the beach.
Review 34:Nice beach, swimming pool and beautiful garden. Quiet and most of the people were elderly, the food was quiet nice.
Review 35:This is mainly a "German and French" hotel as leisure activities at the hotel bears the stamp of these languages. So Scandinavians (and Brits) might have a little challenge here?
Review 36:The hotel is beautifully situated at the beach. The bungalows were spacious, modern and clean. Nice restaurant with good and varied food. Wonderful staff who were always very pleasant and helpful. Example: Due to late departure we asked to keep the bungalow for nine additional hours. No problem - hakuna matata. They required only 30 euro for this, and gave the three of us free lunch and dinner as well. With a smile. I have never experienced anything like this in any hotel anywhere before. Creta beach hotel had no problem dealing with the number of guests, even though it was fully booked. Never any queuing in the restaurant and it was always possible to find sun beds by the pool or on the beach.
Review 37:Excellent location to combine leisure with exploration of historical/cultural sites in Crete. Very close to Heraklion and Knossos and suitable to visit the East and West of the island (a rented car is a must if you want to take maximum profit of your visit). Very clean and not crowded beach. The personnel was very helpful and nice with a special remark for the staff in the restaurant (excellent and diverse food). You see that they really want and put effort to be better and not only want to keep the minimum standard. I would come again with pleasure.
Review 38:Having to wear a bright green wrist band, that scratched my face during the night and was just annoying!
Review 39:The roomy bungalow, and excellent food.
Review 40:To much french turists(they are a Little rude), and the nights shows were in french too.
Review 41:Location, the bungalows, the staff and the food
Review 42:They dont have greek music at the hotel.
Review 43:Great view and excellent food.
Review 44:The food at lunch and dinner
Review 45:The room
Review 46:1. Evening entertainment was in French language only
Review 47:1. Friendly and supportive staff 2. Nice view 3. Lovely sand beach 4. Excellent food
Review 48:all the light in the bungalow, with the 2 roofs in the ceiling
Review 49:The view from the dinighall was stunning!
Review 50:rooms need renovation
Review 51:the garden, the restaurant view, the parking
Review 52:Very clean accomodation, nice beach, big pool, nice garden with high palmas, colorful offer of restaurant
Review 53:Having the entertainment area beside the pool meant we had to listen to the rehearsals and put up with the same songs over and over again. Very little tourist info in English as the hotel seems to cater to primarily French/German clients.
Review 54:Well run and maintained hotel. The staff were very nice and friendly. The selection of food was excellent.
Review 55:There was nothing to complain about at all
Review 56:Staff exceptionally helpful, friendly with good sense of fun, facilities very comfortable & suited us fine (we had half board), surrounding area great for local shops & eating, not too busy at this time of year so beach & pool area easily accessible , good weather, looking forward to coming back sometime.
Review 57:When we asked in advance to book a taxi for the morning we leave (we had to leave at 5 am to catch a plane in Chania), we were assured that a cab will be there. Turns out, they asked someone called Vassilis to do this (for 5 EUR more than the normal taxi, which we did not really mind), who forgot about it. So we had to run to catch a cab on the nearby streets at 5 am and almost missed our bus (and hence the plane as well).
Review 58:The staff was very friendly, including being flexible on us taking either lunch or dinner as part of our half-board. The room and the beach facilities were pretty good, if slightly run-down. Free tennis court and racquets were a great bonus. There were never any queues and the hotel seems like an efficient operation. Location is somewhat removed from the centre, but the local busses are pretty good and frequent, so the hotel is a great base to explore the area.
Review 59:Everything was in French or German. We wanted to book day tours to explore the island and found it difficult to find info in English.
Review 60:Our room was overlooking the beach, with the most lovely views. Lovely helpful staff.
Review 61:Poor value for money. Their bungalow had dirty floor and lacked manyfacilities (small old tv, no hairdryer, no kettle, not working safe box,bed was not comfortable). The territory of hotel is rather small, pictures are not 100% representing. The food was very simple and like inhospital, but this applies to the majority of hotels in Crete, go totavernas instead and never take all inclusive! Not very big canteen andmany tables very close to each other. The majority of people werepensioners from France. The bottom of the beach with construction trashand sea urchins.
Review 62:The staff were efficient and extremely helpful and cheerful . Food and facilities first rate. All very clean .very good base for exploring and sights seeing as buses stop outside door .beach is right in front so best of all worlds. Thanks staff for a super stay
Review 63:I liked how friendly and helpful the staff were.
Review 64:Food in the Main restaurant was rubbish for all meals.
Review 65:Great location. Friendly staff. Good facilities.
Review 66:Green surroundings By the beach Excellent food Very friendly staff Comfortable and spacious rooms Good Entertainment
