Reviews for Hermes Mykonos Hotel
Review 1:N/A
Review 2:Perfect Location atop a beautiful Hill Overlooking the harbor, the old town, and the Temple of Apollo! Teriffic Breakfast served in a dining room overlooking the harbor and the Temple! The friendly family staff made wonderfull restaurant and dinner recommendations and we especially loved the nearby "Restaurant Oregano", where the locals frequent!
Review 3:awesome location close to everything Walk only 7-8 min to the city and the path it's Very Easy if u don't want to walk back taxi is only 5 euro We rented a buggy for 2 days after the first day it was only 50 euro and we had a blast U can also rent atv next door from the hotel Hotel is very clean but remember it's Europe so things are not like America !!!! Still awesome !!!
Review 4:Happy and welcoming from the start...Margarita couldn't do enough ..Anna too ... Breakfast was great and plenty of it .... Short walk down to town taxi up...
Review 5:We didnt like the traffic noise espec the motor bike noise.ok we were told we could close windows but we paid extra for a sea view so we could sit and enjoy the boats.I wouldnt do that again.we thought the rooms very tired and grubby looking and beds were awful uncomfortable.sorry but not a good stay overall for us.
Review 6:We liked the pool area and provision of pool towels.
Review 7:The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the main town, which is fine, however, the pathway is not well lit at night and feels a little unsafe.
Review 8:This hotel was perfect during our stay in Mykonos. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was great and the free ride from and to the port was awesome. Would definitely stay here again.
Review 9:The only downside is the uphill trek to the hotel (it's not lit at night). But think of it as a good workout!
Review 10:The staff was amazing - all of them. The woman at the front desk is a well-oiled machine. The rooms have amazing views and the pool is perfect.
Review 11:The staff at Hermes were very friendly and accomodating. Our flight was delayed and they had checked all the info online and were there to pick us up as soon as we landed. They were very helpful and always were available when we needed something. Our stay was definitely a great one! Our sea view room was beyond beautiful and the rooms were very clean. Location was very convenient and everything was a 10 minute ride with our atvs (we were able to rent atvs from next door to Hermes 70€ for two days). Pool was very clean and well maintained but was a bit too chilly for us to go in as it wasn't as hot as we were Expecting it to be. Breakfast every morning was something we definitely looked forward to, as it was always fully stocked and fresh. We will definitely come back to Mykonos and stay at Hermes.
Review 12:I wish hotel could replace dark pink and burgundy curtains/wall treatments to a more contemporary color and neutral palette such as off white or fendi, or beige. Also would recommend the hotel staff act more gently indicating local choices, restaurants to go, how to get buses, they all seemed in a hurry although hotel was not so busy. They replied to all my requests but I felt they could be a little bit more welcoming. A little cumbersome on the way back from town (somewhat steep) . Hotel staff told me to use the short cut route but there were a lot of broken rocks and unstable soil and dark route with some scattered litter and mosquitoes. I took the main road that took me more 5 minutes but was safer on the way back. I wish some of the cosmetic changes to be done in interior design of the room and bathroom does not translate into increasing costs. Mykonos is an expensive island .
Review 13:The Hermes Mykonos Hotel is located in Chora-Downtown Mykonos town (one will have to walk to town about 10 min by foot), my room 201 faced incredible sea views, amenities were from Korres and air conditioning was good. Breakfast contained a lot of options and delicious eggs, and bacon. Hotel lobby is covered in white marble and white sofas. Pool area is nice, beautiful and frequent guests using. Free transfer from port-airport. Hotel is well maintained and staff take a lot of time to clean and make everything polished. if someone is unsure where to stay choose to stay in Mykonos Chora -town, that´s where all the activity occurs and super easy to get on city buses to go to Panormos, Psarrou and Super Paradise (Best organized beaches of Mykonos).
Review 14:Very noisy street right below so when windows open and trying to enjoy balcony it was very noisy because of mopeds and atv's. No literature from staff on things to do or to orient to menu, breakfast time etc
Review 15:Sleek modern look. Comfortable bed. View
Review 16:It takes 15 minutes back to the hotel because we need to climb back to the hotel and a bit tired. However, it's acceptable with such good view.
Review 17:Owner is very friendly and helpful for our trip. The restaurant they recommend is really good. Room is clean with beautiful view. Just love it and will visit again for sure!
Review 18:I have nothing bad to say!
Review 19:The staff was incredible! So accommodating and always greet you with a smile. The hotel is a bit of a hike downhill into Mykonos town (the back up hill to get back!) however that's what I enjoyed about it. Out of the craziness but close enough to it! Great restaurant Called Mr Pug across the road. If you write to the hotel before your stay they will arrange to pick you up and drop you off at the port which is such a plus.
Review 20:As is so often in Europe, our "double" bed was just two single beds pushed together but made up separately, with a gap caused by the bedframes.
Review 21:Beautiful views, lovely pool, immaculately clean luxurious hotel. Small and not impersonal/corporate. Free airport and port transfers. Great location an easy walk from Mykonos town, but out of the crowds. We arrived in the early morning and they stored our luggage and let us relax by the pool until our room was ready.
Review 22:The only disadvantage to a great view, is that there is a short walk up from the centre of the village. If you have any mobility issues you might struggle, but if not it's probably good to walk off your dinner.
Review 23:This hotel was wonderful. Fabulous view, helpful and friendly staff, nice European breakfast, and stylishly fitted out, right down to the crockery at breakfast. We travel extensively, staying at various categories of hotels, and this was one of the best we have stayed in.
Review 24:Wifi connection was very weak.
Review 25:The hospitality was great! The recommendations for food were always fabulous! And they really were helpful in teaching us how to navigate Mykonos!
Review 26:Platys Gialos is secluded so just be prepared to take a taxi or bus to get to Mykonos Town or Super Paradise. We stayed in Mykonos Town for a few nights before so we were fine staying put in PG/Psarou while we stayed at this hotel.
Review 27:Amazing location, easy access to Psarou beach and Nammos (make a reservation or go early). Beautiful pool, gorgeous facilities, delicious breakfast! Nice workout facilities too! They upgraded us to a VIP Suite which was incredible - especially the hot tub on our balcony. Watching the sunset from our balcony was one of the highlights of my trip. Super friendly and helpful staff! They arranged all of our transportation and ferry tickets. We were so sad to leave, and even considered coming back after we spent a few nights on Santorini because this hotel set the bar high. I highly recommend.
Review 28:Relatively small telie in the room with limited channels if you wanted to watch a late night movie.
Review 29:Good location if you rented a scooter and want to go to any of the famous beaches, the room had an amazing balcony view over the city and ocean, wholesome breakfast, tidy and comfy rooms with spacious bathroom, helpful staff who communicated clearly.
Review 30:Not a problem for us, but it's a steep walk from the town centre back to the hotel (but that's why it has the view!).
Review 31:Great view from the room/restaurant/pool. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable, free port/airport transfers. Easy walk into town.
Review 32:Nothing
Review 33:Definitely the nicest hotel I have stayed at in mykonos. Highly recommended.... Although a four star it deserves a 5 star rating. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. 10 / 10 I will definitely be back
Review 34:You could not fault this place at all it has every thing you need and the location is not bad at all the only thing that could be bad was walking back to the hotel late at night it's a 10 minute walk at straight up the hill so you have to be reasonably fit to do that
Review 35:The location was fantastic the staff was excellent they could not do enough for you I will definitely go back and stay again
Review 36:The location is great. Need to be able to walk up & down steap hills though. The staff are so friendly & helpful. It is a very special hotel. We loved our stay there! The views are gorgeous, would certainly try stay in a sea room on a higher floor to be above thr cable lines for perfect views!
Review 37:Rooms ultramodern and very clean! Beds very comfortable and staff were very helpful and friendly! Pool, Bar & food were fantastic! Panos at the pool/bar was fantastic! Very friendly and helpful, would watch my 7 year old son in the pool while I relaxed by the pool!
Review 38:The gruelling hike back up to the motel. They need to have a shuttle bus 3 -4 times a day like the motel we stayed in Santorini did.
Review 39:The breakfast was very good.
Review 40:It's a 15 walk to town downhill. The front desk guy in theafternoon didn't confirm my dinner reservation as promised andquoted me a price for an atv then when I went to the place is was 15euros more a day. He was the only negative at the hotel. Breakfastcould have been better.
Review 41:The views, bed, wifi and a/c were great. The female manager wasamazing. She knew how to take care of a guest. We were at the restaurantthat we were supposed to have a reservation at and we're told itdidn't exist. The host called the hotel and spoke to the manager andshe took care of it. We had to wait so th e host said we can have adrink and the hotel will pick up the tab for the misunderstanding. That's how a 4 star hotel is supposed to take care of a guest. Thishotel is excellent!
Review 42:There is no gym at the hotel but an alternative to burn off those few calories is the walk from the hotel to and from (uphill) the town.
Review 43:Rooms, views, transfers to and from Airport, Breakfast, communal book case and the Pool.
Review 44:The hotel is above the town, which makes for nice views but also a steep walk up the hill (there's a shortcut, but it still takes about 10-15 minutes from the town center). The beds were also a little too soft for us.
Review 45:The staff was extremely nice and helped with whatever we needed. The view is great from above the town, and the hotel is modern, clean and quiet - perfect for a relaxing time. The pool area is also really nice, overlooking the sea and the town. Breakfast was fresh and high quality. The rooms on the ground floor are larger, but the ones on the higher floors have a nicer view.
Review 46:Building where our room was echoes so it was a little noisy, steep walk back from town if you are tired, but makes for a great view being up on the hill!
Review 47:Loved sitting on the private patio watching the sunset, the staff was helpful, friendly, couldn't ask for better service. They picked us up at the ferry port and dropped us off at the airport, super convenient. Pool area very nice!
Review 48:NOTHING!!!!
Review 49:In all my travels I have NEVER experienced such above and beyond excellence in every aspect of this hotel and profession as I did at Hermes!!! SUPERIOR in every category!!!!
Review 50:its on the hill overlooking the port so walking back from the port is an uphill journey but it's worth the views!
Review 51:Spacious room Beautiful view of the bay (we had a sea view room) Free transfer from/to the port Great staff nice pool 10min walk to the port and the city center
Review 52:- a bit far to walk back from the town but it's the choice between distance & view - average breakfast
Review 53:- Nice staffs - Room at 3/F has a nicer view although it's smaller in size, I am glad we could choose between 2 rooms - great with the free transfer to & from the port, and they checked if the ferry is re-scheduled for you and gave you recommendation - car rental shop recommended by the hotel was just right next to the hotel from the entrance below the pool, 50 EUR / day for automatic car for low seaon [63 EUR / day for medium season, 75 EUR for high season]
Review 54:That we had to leave, thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Hard to fault.
Review 55:the staff were very accomodating. Bar staff just fantastic! We used all day snack menu for meals. Plenty of places to rent bikes, cars etc nearby. Our room was with a garden view but actually had some view of the sea and very spacious. Would highly recommend to others. Aim to return one day or at least share experience with friends/family
Review 56:only fault was the hot food at breakfast wasn't hot, barely warm
Review 57:loved that the staff went out of their way to assist, nothing was too much trouble.
Review 58:The distance from the town center. If you have a car is easy but if you are on foot, you need to up and down many hills. But the sea view and of the town are wonderful.
Review 59:Everything
Review 60:Breakfasts were fairly basic and location could be noisy as near main road
Review 61:Fantastic friendly staff who provided plenty of excellent information on restaurants, beaches, places of interest etc. super comfortable bed.
Review 62:We arrived very early at 645am and couldnt check into our room until almost noon (and we had to upgrade to seaview otherwise we would have had to wait until 2pm). Its understandable since it was peak season and the hotel was fully booked.
Review 63:Hotel was in a great location. 10 mins from airport and they provide a free pick up and drop off. Breakfast was great. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Def get the seaview its worth the extra few bucks. The garden view is really the parking lot side view...
Review 64:need more comfortable chairs on the bigger room terraces. We knew it would be a bit of walk into town. More difficult to do if you want to stay after dark,
Review 65:terrific staff, food and accommodation! A bit c
Review 66:The breakfast didnt have options for vegetarians.
Review 67:Location with spectacular views of the sea and old town. The sunset view from the balcony was amazing. The hotel is very close from the airport and the harbour. The girls at the front desk were very helpful and smiling all the time.
Review 68:Location, which provides spectacular views of the old town and the harbour/ ocean is close to the action but far enough away. The service was outstanding from airport pickup to port drop off. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
Review 69:The climb back up the hill to the hotel out of Mykonos Town at the end of the day!
Review 70:The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean with pleasant, modern decor in the reception and seating areas
Review 71:I loved the view from the hotel since it is one of the highest hotels on the island. It is 15 min walk to the Mykonos town where windmills and little Venice are. Also the facility is very neat and clean and the rooms are nice. The breakfast was delicious and the hotel staff is very friendly. I would stay here again.
Review 72:It's a little bit far from down town (it takes around 10 min by walk) ,but that's the only potty thing. Staff are nice and friendly, room is clean and great sea view, breakfast is good. We love to stay at swimming pool to have great sunshine. Also, Wifi is perfect that I can check e-mail even at the pool area.
Review 73:Luxurious boutique hotel with an amazing view. Loved the sea view from the pool, or when having a coffee on the porch. The staff are extremely helpful and polite. Overall top class hotel services, would love to visit again!
Review 74:Happy no complaints
Review 75:The most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. With a view of Mykonos and the sunset every day that takes your breath away. The staff are amazing and friendly :)
Review 76:You have to be in good shape for the climb back up from harbor.
Review 77:Great views & sunsets. Nice breakfasts. Friendly staff. Free shuttle to and from airport.
Review 78:anything to complain.
Review 79:Best staff. Extremely kind, english-spoken and very helpful. The hotel is well located and has a breathtaking view from the rooms.
Review 80:Nothing. I would have loved to use the pool but clouds and rain weren't the hotels fault. If they served food during the day that would be amazing but regardless it's a short walk into town and definitely not a reason to not stay here.
Review 81:Location was perfect. It might be a walk up a hill but it's no more than ten minutes via some stairs and for the trade off you get an absolutely beautiful view of old town and the sea. The rooms as well as the hotel were crisp and clean, all white. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and both picked me up and dropped me off from port free of charge. Room attendants weren't even noticed. I would be gone for an hour and I would come back and my room was clean. Pool area, bar, and lounge were beautiful as well. As well as the breakfast they served in the mornings? The only reason why I didn't get up for seconds was because there were other people in the room, it was amazing.
Review 82:- 8am breakfast is too late but it seems that's the standard for all hotels - No coffee availability before or after breakfast - No nearby supermarket - A bit of a hike to city centre
Review 83:- Welcome water upon arrival. Nice touch from a long flight - Cleanliness - Staff friendliness - Free and prompt transfers - Breakfast is good
Review 84:Absolutely nothing
Review 85:Very convenient location, close to downtown Mykonos, the hotel has everything needed to enjoy a relaxing holiday (pool, great food, entertainment venues nearby, adjacent bus station from which you can get to a great beach, etc.(. Hotel staff lovely and very helpful all the time, the hotel has a shuttle to and from the airport. Wonderful wonderful vacation spot!
Review 86:a little far from the centre of Mykonos Town but okay if you're able to walk, not terrible; rooms upstairs are more updated, rooms downstairs are not renovated yet but still clean.
Review 87:the Pool; the breakfast; the views; the spacious rooms; the wifi; the friendly staff; the family running the hotel are super nice and have really cute gatherings in the evening.
Review 88:location has a price.. you need to climp the hill to reach the hotel from town (but everything fantastic has a price :-) )
Review 89:great location, all rooms with view over the bay and sunset. Very clean and large rooms, great bathroom. very friendly and professional staff. Top quality for the money.
Review 90:It is situated at the top of the hill, you need to walk down steep slopes to get to the town and will take 10-15 minutes. I've seen many people stopping midst of the slopes as it can be really tiring to climb up to return to hotel. Truly not recommended if you are not physically fit. In addition, the hotel only provides breakfast, you have to get out of this hotel for lunch/dinner. Moreover, the owner (or manager) of the hotel is not friendly.
Review 91:The hotel is very comfortable and rooms provide excellent sunset view. It is very clean and the staff at the reception are polite and very helpful.
Review 92:The wifi is sometimes a bit off in the rooms.
Review 93:We had a fantastic time during our stay! The rooms were amazing, location was perfect and the staff were absolutely amazing! Would definitely recommend!!
Review 94:The only real challenge was getting back up from the town centre, but after a couple of trips you soon either make a decision to continue going up and down the fairly steep pathway to town, or you catch a taxi. We enjoyed the physical fitness regime experienced by sticking to the walking, and you just have a few stops along the way, and take time to enjoy the view (in other words have a few rest breaks along the way !)
Review 95:The Hermes has a great view over Mykonos town and harbour. The breakfast was very good self serve, with a large variety from which to choose. The staff were very helpful and gave good advice on which sights to include in our itinerary.
Review 96:Nothing really!
Review 97:Excelent place! Beautiful hotel with white marble all over! Great location! Perfect breakfast! Very clean! Pool view is awesome! Rooms are amazing! Loved it!
Review 98:I stayed with a girlfriend and their double room was 2 single beds pushed together. Would have preferred 2 separate beds. Hotel has no dining restaurant so you need to go off premise to eat. They're missing the boat on this with a view like that! However you can order small lunches poolside. There is a lot of road noise at the pool with scooters and motor bikes screaming up the hill. This did not affect sleep in the room.
Review 99:The hotel's staff is very helpful and accommodating. Always willing to steer you in the right direction. Breakfast was fabulous and included. Rooms were comfortable with nice bathroom facilities. Small refrigerator in the room was perfect for having wine and snacks in the afternoon on the room's terrace/balcony with the great view of the sea. Nice swimming pool with attentive staff and great view of the sea. Location was perfect. Away from the city but walking distance to everything. Would definitely recommend this place.
Review 100:Wifi sometimes sketchy.
Review 101:Great experience. Lovely rooms, brilliant location, nice breakfast. But as always it was the staff who made this place special. They were so helpful and professional at all times. Highly recommended!
Review 102:If you are not into walking, the return to the hotel after a visit to Mykonos City might be troubling. In peak season there are virtually no taxis to be found and you might have to share the one you caught with someone you never saw before.
Review 103:Perched on a hill over Mykonos City, this trendy small hotel offers his guests a trully remarkable view and a delightfull experience. With transportation from and to the nearby airport, the hotel spares the guests the hassle of having to find a free taxi in a place where taxis are a commodity. A quite complete breakfast helps to make Hermes Hotel a place not to be missed.
Review 104:Staying at Hermes Mykonos was a great experience. Staff we're very informative and spoke very fluent English. Will differently recommend and stay again at Hermes Mykonos.
Review 105:Nothing at all
Review 106:Free upgrade to sea view, pick up from port and drop off at the airport (part of the room price), very helpful and friendly staffs, very good breakfast with fresh breads, nice pool with good view, good size rooms and very clean
Review 107:1.there are people outside from the hotel that come to use the pool and often there are no free sun beds for the guests of the hotel, the management should consider that and when the pool is full the guests of the hotel must be with priority 2. really noisy from the street nearby the hotel but the nice view and pool and the kind stuff compensate that 3. the breakfast do not corresponds to the price of the room, not many kinds of fresh fruits and cereals, no nuts or seeds 4. the restaurant menu could include a bit more type of salads and healthy meals although the food is nice, fresh and tasty
Review 108:1. pretty kind stuff 2. very very beautiful view 3. tasty meals from the restaurant 4. clean, big pool and comfortable sun beds 5. good mojito
Review 109:Not much to complain about at the hotel, but it would be nice if the wifi authentication didn't time-out and ask for credentials so frequently.
Review 110:The friendly and accommodating staff is out if world. I was always excited to talk with all of them. The Sea view is also spectacular. We never missed a sunset on the pool deck.
Review 111:After traveling all over Europe a few times, each time i stay at Hermes, the staff cannot do enough for you as appose to other hotels. I've stayed there twice now and i'm booking again for next year. It's like my home away from home even though it's on the other side of the world.
Review 112:Great staff who always wanted to help, well maintained rooms with good beds. Pool side bar prices extremely good. A well managed hotel and memorable experience.
Review 113:Staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble, they went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Good location, 10 minutes up the hill from the old port which was wonderful at night for restaurants and shops. Beautiful pool, really needed a pool in Mykonos. Loved the free transfers to and from the port.
Review 114:WIFI could be better
Review 115:The breakfast is great. Love the shuttle service and nice hotel staff. Nice quiet location, only 10min walk to the center of attraction and activities. Best sunset view from the balcony. Definitely recommend to others!
Review 116:The location is up the hill over the Old Town which means you need to walk down for a good 10-15 mins along some difficult, uneven pathways, particularly, at night as they are not well lit. After a few days we learnt the best route but the first couple of nights we got lost coming back and walked aimlessly for ages before we found it. Very frustrating! In summer, you will work up a good sweat day or night. Therefore, if you plan on wearing nice evening wear (I'm mostly thinking of the ladies in heels here) this will be too difficult unless you can secure a taxi in both directions, which can be challenging. The hotel would benefit from an hourly shuttle service to the Old Town as the hotel's location is a significant shortcoming in our view. I'd probably want to stay closer to the Old Town next time for this reason alone.
Review 117:Loved the pool. The rooms were quite large with a balcony. Breakfast buffet was very good. Lovely helpful staff. Very clean and modern hotel. Nice views of the Old Town below and the sea.
Review 118:Location, breakfast, view, poolside and the free shuttle transfer to and from the airport/dock. Some people complained about the walk into town (as it's a steep walk), but we thoroughly enjoyed it! We had a wonderful view of the sunset each day.
Review 119:A bit pricey, but this is Mykonos in July where everything seemed expensive.
Review 120:Excellent location and awesome view, great service including free ferry port transfers, friendly and efficient staff, nice breakfast, lovely pool with great poolside service - loved the cocktails. Overall a great place to stay on Mykonos
Review 121:the walk down into town.. very hilly.. and difficult to walk in anything other than flat shoes which are a must.
Review 122:lovely rooms, staff very attentive and friendly. Beautiful pool and sunbeds, gorgeous view from the balcony.. recommend a sea view. Food nice all in all excellent service
Review 123:Wifi is slow and you need to login frequently.
Review 124:Stayed at the Hermes a few times now and will definetely be going again. The team are all friendly and helpful. Great views and super breakfast.
Review 125:Nothing to dislike - couldn't find a fault here. For the price- it's the best there is in our opinion.
Review 126:The staff is A-Mazing Free shuttle from port/airport Great food Awesome lounge/bar Pool is great and a rarity for the price The property is gorgeous in and out The view of Mykonos center and the sunset is unreal The hotel is close to Mykonos center (10 min walk on closed sidewalk/alley) It's 150-ft from the ATV/scooter rental shop etc. etc. etc. all good. Loved this place.
Review 127:Everything was excellent about this hotel and we've traveled extensively. The service was exceptional, they even reserved some restaurants and took us airport and picked us up. The location was really good. It was close to town, less than a 10 minute walk and because it was a bit higher up,the view of the sea and mykonos town was really good. The breakfast was very healthy and tasty and there were many options. We had no complaints. Hotel was beautiful including our bedrooms and really nice toiletries and robes provided.
Review 128:location of the hotel on top of a hill which means amazing views but steep walk back from town.
Review 129:Helpful friendly staff Clean bright rooms Pool overlooking town with picturesque views
Review 130:The location is up on a hill. It will take you about 10 mins walk to go down to the town center. There's a walkway from the hotel down to town, which is quite deserted but safe.
Review 131:Very nice hotel interiors and rooms (all white). Our room had a great view of the sea. Great breakfast.
Review 132:Cats running around freely at the restaurant.
Review 133:Very good location. Beutiful hotel. Great breakfast.
