Reviews for Netherwood Bed and Breakfast

Review 1:The room is clean and cozy, and the owners are absolutely nice and friendly. We arrived quite late almost the midnight, the old couple waited until I came, really appreciated. Also, the old couple generously shared their experience and story with us. We really enjoyed our time there.

Review 2:it's the little far away from Fort August but not a issue if you are travelling in a car. What impressed me most is the host of the lodge, they are the most friendly and kind couple we've met in our entire trip! really feels like at home.

Review 3:.it would have been nice to have a sitting room. The main road to Fort Augustus was was too busy to walk along.

Review 4:Cleanliness,comfort,obliging staff,food.

Review 5:Only possible to pay in cash (this is stated upfront on booking.com)- take money out before getting to Fort Augustus since the cashmachine charges.

Review 6:Malcolm and Pat are very friendly and welcoming. Big comfortable room.

Review 7:Nothing, we loved everything!

Review 8:We absolutely loved our stay here! The old couple is really nice and adorable. They are genuinely interested in your stories and adventures. The room was really nice and for the first time on our trip the shower had enough water and the right temperature. The woman cooks the breakfast for you and it is absolutely delishious. You also get the best coffee you will ever have! The room was very clean and nicely done. Internetacces was fast.

Review 9:That I choose too short time in this place.

Review 10:Everything was absolutly fantastic: breakfast, atmosphere, localization. Pam and Malcom (owners) are so nice that I regrat that I will not make a photo with them. I recomend this place in 100%.

Review 11:The walls was quite thin and I could hear the person nextdoor snore and when a group of people came in late.

Review 12:Lovely hosts and nice and clean rooms. Breakfast was really good and we had a nice chat with Malcolm who told us about their b&b and about themselves. I was very sad to hear that they are selling the b&b after this season. If you are passing Fort Augustus I would definitely recommend you to stay here!

Review 13:nothing, everything was perfect

Review 14:Everything was great, the owners were amazing people, the rooms and especially the beds were very comfortable, we loved to meet them and they made us very comfortable.

Review 15:There was not really something negative worth mentioning. The place is just easy to miss, if one is unaware of the exact location, so watch out carefully. There is a green sign just at the road where the house is located.

Review 16:Wee gem along the way to Loch Ness and the Isle of Skye, if coming from the South. The owners are a very sweet, friendly and tentative lovely older couple. They will gladly give you some recommendations on what to do and where to eat dinner nearby. Our room had a great view and the hearty (Scottish) breakfast was the best we had during the week. I have rarely felt being taken care of in such a brilliant manner. Best place we have been to on our trip. I got the impression that this place is particularly suitable for couples.

Review 17:I didn't like not having total control over the heating in the room. The owners turn off the heating during the evening and night. We weren't cold during the night, but since we were in our rooms during the evening and not out on the town as they said most guests are, it was too cool without the heating.

Review 18:Loved the place and it was a nice, quiet location. A bit difficult to find if you were driving alone, but with passengers to watch for the sign, it wasn't bad.

Review 19:The house was a bit noisy.

Review 20:The hosts were so friendly and did everything to make our stay great! Breakfast was also very tasty and much choice, also for vegetarians. Beautiful home, wish we could have stayed another night.

Review 25:Well, for the first tim e in my life I had a night's entertainment with a 'rutting stag' in action in the paddock opposite. Hosts were very welcoming and gave fair warning of the nightly behaviour of the resident stag. Everything was delightful about our room AND the breakfast.

The rooms were very clean, the beds comfortable, and the Scottish breakfasts were plentiful and delicious. The location, being only three miles from Fort Augustus, was an excellent base for touring the Highlands! Malcolm and Pat were lovely hosts, with Malcolm advising us of the more scenic routes to take and points of interests to see, including a great overlook view of the Eilean Donan Castle. Thank you, Pat and Malcolm!!!
