Reviews for Logis Auberge De La Dune
Review 1:The person on reception was not very welcoming which made us feel a little awkward about being there. The hotel seems quite isolated although good views from the front of the property. The bedroom was exceptionally small hardly any room for a case. The ensuite although very clean needed smartening up.
Review 2:The food in the restaurant was very good. The room and ensuite very clean. The bed was very comfortable.
Review 3:Mattress uncomfortable, tiles in shower cracked, flooring enabled every footstep in the corridor to be heard, smell of stale food everywhere, unfriendly check in, food poor, cold, tough and fatty and served on cold plates, expensive for what it was, breakfast very badly organised (told we couldn't sit at a laid up table with no other laid up tables available), no cloth to protect bread from hands, breakfast very overpriced for what it was, one bill for two rooms when we had asked for items to be charged to specific rooms. Overall very poor quality for an expensive stay. The wifi was slow, and not available in the morning. The next place we stayed was cheaper and much better quality.
Review 4:Very little
Review 5:Breakfast overpriced - no decent bread, no proper cereals (unless you like pure sugar) no orange marmalade. Restaurant service far too speedy - they clearly wanted everyone out as soon as possible. Nowhere for residents to relax after dinner.
Review 6:Location, cost overall, comfortable rooms, cleanliness.
Review 7:Small bedroom and no drink making facilities
Review 8:Car park/good food
Review 9:This is our fourth visit, so that really says it all!
Review 10:Could not get wifi to work even though asked for the code. Breakfast is a bit om the expensive side.
Review 11:Location is good for Le Crotoy
Review 12:The food was not of a high standard
Review 13:Very good location for visiting in the locale.
Review 14:Nothing
Review 15:A nice comfortable hotel
Review 16:Room a bit small and worn - but clean.
Review 17:The restaurant. The garden in the sunshine.
Review 18:The number of flies in the dining room.
Review 19:Pleasant room and very comfortable bed, very good dinners and breakfasts.
Review 20:Excellent location from which to explore the Baie de la Somme area. Very welcoming staff. Fantastic food - we ate in every evening. Rooms a little on the small side but clean and comfortable. Good value, very pleasant experience and we would definitely go again.
Review 21:Nothing.
Review 22:Quiet location. Restaurant aimed to serve local ingredients. Wide choice of menus (5, I think, from 12 to 36 euros) and a la carte. Breakfast buffet choice was the best we have so far encountered.
Review 23:Publicity material for this hotel did not warn that it is not suitablefor elderly people. We are in our 'eighties'! Rooms small andcramped with nowhere in the hotel to relax in bad weather, or if youwanted a lazy day. When we said the accommodation was not suitable, andthat we would stay only the first night, then move on, we were wronglycharged as "No Shows" despite the fact that we did book in. Aformal complaint and request for the refund of 240 euros overchargedwill follow. As regards "Bernard of Beccles", all I can say isthat he must have low standards, and is easily satisfied. My report toLogis de France will tell them that this logis is over-classified.Booking ref:- 987710592 / 3.1.2013. Norman A. Brooke.
Review 24:A basic room by 21st century standards. Avoid Chambre 5 in winter - the central heating boiler is just below and springs into noisy action at intervals during the night.
Review 25:Very traditional French 'logis'. For anyone who followed Arthur Eperon into France in the 1970's it would be instantly recognisable. Loads of exposed plumbing in the shower-room; one (of two) shower doors missing and replaced with a plastic curtain. Nowhere to put one's soap/sponge/shampoo etc except in the shower tray.Very basic room in size and furnishings but clean and a comfortable bed. Staff correct but not over-friendly (1970's again?). Dining room in 'country style' i.e. very welcoming and food good, especially the 'fish of the day'. Altogether delivers value for money. As we spoke French and only spent one night there we didn't find out if English was spoken but suspect that it is. Good pit-stop an hour south of Calais.
Review 26:Room on the small side and noise from below travelled upstairs into the bedroom. No tea making facilities
Review 27:Good food at reasonable cost Plenty of hotwater
Review 28:We have tried to book several times before without success. Now we know why!! It was excellent and perfectly sited for Le Parque Ornithologique Marquenterre
Review 29:We enjoyed a good evening meal at the restaurant on site, eating underthe verandah. Excellent breakfast too. Children enjoyed the smallplayground. Staff very helpful as our French was very limited!
Review 30:Restaurant. Middle Course, though nicely presented, the beef was so tough you couldnt cut it with a sharp knife or chew it, mainly had to suck it ! and quite a lot of it was inedible.
Review 31:I liked its position in the middle of nowhere! Quite a pretty place
Review 32:Google directions were inaccurate so it took a bit of finding.Accommodation was brand new but a bit on the tight side for the money -compensated for by the food hence my 'value for money' judgement.
Review 33:The staff were friendly and nice. The restaurant was packed and thefood was good.
Review 34:The room we were given was in a separate house 400metres from theAuberge. No one there to show us which room was ours although we weregiven a large suite with two bedrooms for the two of us. No kettle.
Review 35:The food was very good, French provincial cooking and a wide choice.Breakfast offered more than just the usual coffee/ croissant choice.
Review 36:Friendly family atmosphere, quiet location even tho' on a crossroad, nice welcome, lovely food, freshly painted outside, garden to sit in.Certainly hope to return.
Review 37:Breakfast commenced very late(0830) . I booked a twin-room but was given a double. Rooms were very small.
Review 38:It was just as described on the web-site, unfussy and unpretentious. Dinner was very good, and good value.
Review 39:The hotel and surrounding area was peaceful, there was a wonderful homely atmosphere with excellent staff who were very patient with us as we have some but limited french. The room was small but adequate and was cleaned to a high degree daily. The restaurant was excellant with good food priced reasonably and served promptly We would definately stay again.
Review 40:Central Heating radiators need some maintenance (bleeding), my radiator in Room 6 was partially scolding and partially cold and the shower head bracket needed replacing.
Review 41:The Hotel is basic, though very original and kept exceptionally clean everywhere, especially the bed linen. Again, the bathrooms are basic, though functional in every way and again, kept spotlessly clean. Food was as you would expect in a low value Hotel, even though it was'nt Michelin Star quality, it was good honest food without complaint. The entire staff were really welcoming and friendly and were extremely accomodating and helpful and considering we were stuck there during the heavy overnight snowfall, they were really good company to be with.
Review 42:The food was good, particularly the breakfasts which were excellent. It is a peaceful location. The log fire in the lounge was a real bonus.
Review 43:Food was magnificent. Best breakfast we have ever had.
Review 44:Very small rooms and noisy floors. Expensive breakfast. Hot weather, and only thick blanket available. To me, doesn't deserve 3 stars.
Review 45:Breakfast very expensive. Difficult to find the hotel
Review 46:The restaurant
Review 47:rooms are too small!
Review 48:Food was good
Review 49:The hotel had a homely feel and produced an excellent breakfast. The restaurant also offered good quality local cuisine.
