Reviews for Kettle House B&B

Review 1:Only had a one night stay but was made to feel very welcome and lovely room with everything I could have wanted, followed by a top notch breakfast! Will be first choice for next visit to the area.

Review 2:Natalie & Mark were amazing, highland hospitality at its finest! Arrived for a late check in, my tour bus dropped me 200 meters up the road & Mark picked me up in his car, which was fantastic as the weather was typical of the region; windy & wet! After settling in, there was a knock at the door. Mark politely asked if I would like any food as they weren't sure if I had eaten. I respectfully declined as I already had, lovely gesture none the less. Natalie even prepared me a food care package to take on the tour bus with me as I had an early checkout the following morning. Highly recommend this place! :)

Review 3:Not a bad experience, just a note that fewer cute decorations on shelves in our room would have allowed a bit more space for our belongings.

Review 4:Beautiful walk along the canal into town! Room was absolutely clean, loved the outdoor bunnies - domestic and "wild" one who is a pet wannabe!

Review 5:Mark and Nat were very good hosts. The property is extremely well maintained. Overall a lovely people and a good property to stay in. If ever i come back to Fort Augustus, this is the place that i will stay.

Review 6:it was a great stay, the owners were just great as well, they took care even to pick us up from the village (which meant a lot after almost 100k cycle/run)!! fully recomended

Review 7:Nothing

Review 8:Beautiful little B & B! The couple that run it are very sweet and welcoming. They made us an amazing vegan breakfast. The room was nice and cosy and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Just amazing!

Review 9:Thoughtful touches like home-baked cupcakes in the room each day, and a jug of fresh milk for our tea/coffee if we didn't want to use the UHT pots. Breakfasts beautifully cooked & presented. Natalie knew we were going on to Skye and produced a map for us on which she'd written particular things to look out for. She really went the extra mile!

Review 10:Nothing!

Review 11:Absolutely everything! Owners could not do enough but not obtrusive. Beautiful property with so much attention to detail and a really lovely garden and setting.

Review 12:Beautiful room with very comfy bed. Lovely hosts who made the stay extra special...when they found out it was my birthday they made me a cake. Would definitely stay here again :)

Review 13:Bit difficult to find without Natalie's directions - no sign on the main road. Room was a bit crowded for three.

Review 14:Lovely hosts, comfy beds, yummy breakfast, great location just off the main road (A82) outside Fort Augustus. We were a little late arriving and Natalie called my (overseas!) mobile to make sure we were okay and gave directions.

Review 15:This was the most perfect B&B we have ever had the pleasure to visit. Every attention to detail had been provided, the hosts were exceptional and the house and garden idyllic.

Review 16:None

Review 17:Natalie was very friendly, and overall a great host. Breakfast was excellent with a good variety of choices. Very clean room, with modern en-suite.

Review 18:N/A

Review 19:Both Mark & Natalie are outstanding hosts, nothing was too much trouble for them, from changing breakfast time (due to our really early start) to giving us a lift into village centre. They made us feel more than welcome during out stay !!!!!!!!

Review 20:Extremely friendly staff members who even followed me into town when I left my trainers in the room when checking out. Very friendly staff and excellent room.

Review 21:Natalie and Mark are excellent hosts offering a very comfortable and friendly place to stay and in fact they made us feel practically like family. No question this was the best place we stayed while visiting Scotland. My daughter fell in love with their rabbits. Natalie and Mark even had a bunny goodbye gift for her which simply put her over the moon! Fort Augustus is only a 15 minute walk away so shopping and dining out were a breeze. Breakfast was excellent served fresh each morning. The area of course is stunning and well worth a visit. If you plan on visiting Fort Augustus / Loch Ness then I highly recommend staying with Natalie and Mark and if we visit the area again then we for sure will!

Review 22:Internet signal is very poor and my bed was making noise. Those are rather minor and did not spoil the overall wonderful impression of the property.

Review 23:Lovely place, very cute and comfortable, with attention to every little detail. Great job you are doing, Natalia, we loved being your guests!

Review 24:Delightful hostess and property. Excellent breakfast. Quirky delightful garden. Fluffy pillows, good mattress and lovely family room. Cupcakes on arrival a wonderful gesture.

Review 25:Fantastic welcome - with cupcakes! Family room was brilliant with everything we needed, including wifi, Advice as to what to see, DVDs to watch in the room, lovely gardens full of wildlife. Breakfast was also great.

Review 26:A wonderful place to stay! Delightful house with character. Natalie is absolutely charming! Cupcakes with coffee on arrival. Excellent breakfast with quality ingredients.

Review 27:Perfect hosts and delightful place. Had been traveling for last 2 weeks and had our laundry done there for very modest price. All comforts of home in picture perfect surroundings. Recommend to all.

Review 28:This is a fabulous place to stay. The location is great, the setting of the B and B magical (we had a stag in the garden visiting!) and the hosts welcoming and going above and beyond.

Review 29:(Not sure if mentioned in advertising, but not suitable for those with impaired mobility)

Review 30:Lovely peaceful location, easy walk to town using short cut by the canal. Unique garden, friendly hosts and high standards.

Review 31:We liked the location and the lady owner. She had made cup cakes which were on the tea tray. The room was very small and as my husband is 6ft 5ins there wasn't any real room. In my opinion the room was suitable as a single.

Review 32:Everything was great and the hosts were more than helpful with everything. A beautifully designed B & B with every little nook used for your convenience. Only downside is the stairs but who likes climbing stairs and it is the UK.

Review 33:We loved everything about the place and the hosts Mark and Natalie who went out of their way to make our stay exceptional! Never met before such hosts that are so willing to make you happy and do it so cleverly

Review 34:Only issue was our sat nav sent us to wrong address on post code and the rain but that cant be helped especially since our lovely hostess tried to call to give us a lift!

Review 35:Super friendly welcome, really helpful, comfortable room nicely finished with huge and delicious breakfast.

Review 36:Natalie was a superb host , friendly , welcoming , polite and happy. The room was spotless , the garden was out of this world and it is easily the best breakfast I've ever had .( after 50years doing B&B )

Review 37:faultless

Review 38:Beautiful garden, building and accomodation perfectly presented, owner has thought of everything from 6 different languages for the TV to cutlery and plates in the hall for brining food, a library of dvds and board games, beautiful breakfast room and 5 star breakfast. Owner very friendly and gave impression that could not do enough to ensure your stay was a good one.

Review 39:Perfectly located for a short walk into Fort Augustus. We had a lovely room with comfortable beds, followed by a tasty breakfast. Could not have asked for more from this friendly B&B - ideal hosts!

Review 40:Only one "very" slight grumble (which would not stop us returning) was the view - smallish windows & had to be standing to see out

Review 41:Great welcome, clean & tidy, fantastic breakfast, nice location, extremely helpful.

Review 42:They were welcoming and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We arrived after a full day of cycling and the fresh milk for tea and the cupcake each were most welcome! Town was a short walk away, it was sunny so we were lucky, might not have been quite so nice if it was raining!

Review 43:we had a bit of trouble with the wifi, but that wasn't a big deal at all

Review 44:we felt welcomed from the beginning. Really friendly and also delicious breakfasts!

Review 45:The village is a 10 minutes walk from the house, there is a brief passage quite narrow along the road, beware if you chose to walk to the town center

Review 46:The hosts are a young couple, they are welcoming in a magnificient gardens with pets, then the room is luxrious and new and cosy. Then the breakfast is really good and you can chose among several dishes. Perfect and not costly at all for what it is.

Review 47:A lovely welcome from Natalie, including fabulous cupcakes, lovely clean room and a marvellous breakfast to set us on our way. Otis (the dog) was also made very welcome. Would definitely recommend this little gem of a guest house.

Review 48:From start to finish our stay was excellent. Natalie help with everything we needed, lovely room, spotless! Warm water bottle and other little things made this place brilliant. Mark even helped clear the snow from our car...love this place!

Review 49:Kettle House & its owners were just beautiful! We arrived at night to fairy lights and homemade cupcakes, then woke up to see the beautiful garden setting! Really yummy breakfast and they went out of their way to help us find out details of the Nessie cruises, considering that it was out of season and some were closed. Thanks for a great stay!

Review 50:room was a little small and the bathroom is not the best for tall people. A little out of town, easily reachable by car, not so much by foot.

Review 51:lovely B&B, super kind host also welcomed us with cupcakes in our room, the breakfast is abundant and very tasty. Very nice also the collection of dvds available for everyone.

Review 52:The reception of wi-fi in our room (no 3) was fluctuating, but it's a minor aspect beside all the good things offered by this B&B.

Review 53:This B&B is a "must" choice for every traveller in the Loch Ness region: very friendly and helpful owners, fine facilities, great scottish breakfast, amazing decorated dining room! Also: tea / instant coffee / hot chocolate and a sweet muffin in our room, a fridge for the guest, plug adaptors, all these things makes a warm welcome to any guest! Bottom line: we felt like home away from our home! Regretfully we stayed just one night, but we'll come back for sure!

Review 54:The distance from the Kettle House to village centre was a bit further then I had anticipated. There is a stretch of road with no side walks, so when by foot you have to go around and cross the camp site and golf course if you don't want to get run over. But they offered me a lift into town, so it's not really a big problem.

Review 55:A very warm welcome. I loved the house and my room, it wasn't very spacious (sloping roofs may be too low for very tall people) but very cosy and had a luxurious en-suite bathroom. Breakfast was outstanding. I wish I could have stayed longer. Will definitely come to stay here again.

Review 56:There is absolutely nothing to dislike about staying at Kettle House.

Review 57:A really warm welcome was given us from the time we arrived on the doorstep - twice in our case as we enjoyed our stay so much we returned for another night's stay before returning home from our tour of Scotland! The breakfast was wonderful, cooked to perfection. Lovely rooms overlooking a pretty woodland garden. Everything has been thoroughly thought through to ensure guests ultimate comfort. We plan to revisit Kettle House when we're on our next trip to Scotland.

Review 58:Pretty much everything to list a few - Friendly Owners Natalie has been very nice and knows the locality well for directions /guidance - Property and rooms are very clean and tidy - Everthing is planned to detail and furnished properly -Lots of books , movies and games to pass time

Review 59:We had a great time here. Really lovely people, so welcoming - and a quite amazing Scottish breakfast. My son is insisting we return soon. Wonderful place

Review 60:nothing of note.

Review 61:charming hostess Natalie who kept me posted about road conditions before I set out from edinburgh, and a friendly welcome. Made to feel like a valued customer. Comfortable, and quiet bedroom with great ensuite. Would definitely recommend. Excellent freshly cooked breakfast.

Review 62:One of the best B&Bs Ive ever been to. We loved the bedrooms/layout of the whole house. Breakfast was great. Had tons of movies/games to choose from and beautiful backyard. It was amazing! Highly recommend!

Review 63:Quiet place to have a good rest. Very good location in the highlands to explore places nearby. Good breakfast. Lovely garden. By mistake i booked a twin bedroom and the hosts made their best to make us feel comfortable. Thanks!

Review 64:Absolutely faultless. Everything you would expect from a top class B & B. Great food, great room , superb service and a great choice of DVD's and large flat screen TV.

Review 65:Nothing.

Review 66:Location is just on the town fringe and very quiet. Garden is a treat. Parking easy. Breakfast scrumptious. Hostess Natalie is lovely and couldn't do enough! Recommend.

Review 67:Everything - friendly hosts, free wifi, dvd's to use, comfortable/clean rooms, breakfast options and excellent food. The garden with rabbits and a silver pheasant only added to the appeal.

Review 68:The breakfast was great, the neighborhood was pretty nice as well, the owners are really nice and helpful. We were lucky as we had a really nice weather over there, so we could enjoy the stay in the Kettle House and the walks around the town.

Review 69:Room was a little small, but that is expected for a B&B. Our family of 3 did not mind the close quarters.

Review 70:After a rough start to our day, the Kettle House was the bright spot to our day. We arrived very late, but were greeted warmly by the hostess. The next morning, breakfast was served a warm and inviting room. Our daughter enjoyed meeting the resident rabbits. The gardens looked beautiful. We only wished that we could have stayed longer to have enjoyed them.

Review 71:Everything was superb! From the situation of the house in quiet wooded gardens less than a mile from Fort Augustus to the quality of the rooms and the lovely owners this is a wee gem. Breakfasts were, yes you guessed, excellent and I was sad to move on the following day!

Review 72:This sweet B&B was the first stop for us in Scotland with the best hostess we had on the whole trip. The rooms were cutely furnished and very clean. The location was really quiet and peaceful. The view of the garden was really lovely, too. Plus the small figures in the garden were really adorable. The bathroom had everything we needed in there. For quiet evenings there were also a rack full of DVDs or even board games. I assume that would be great for Children. (I enjoyed it as well ;) ) The breakfast was really great. We got a big range of possibilities to pick from and enjoyed it very much. Plus we had a great view from the breakfast room over the garden. And this view was simply delightful. I can’t even described how great the stop over here was. The owner really cared about us and was really nice to talk to. A really lovely person. (And the cupcakes we got were amazing!!) I would always recommend staying here again and will always keep this in good memory.

Review 73:Very friendly and helpful owners. Beautiful views surrounded by a mystical woodland. The small distance to walk into the centre of Fort Augustus is well offset by the peaceful surrounding and garden grounds that seem to stretch off to the forest and heather-clad hills to the horizon. The room and house was very comfortable and clean. Would choose this one again.

Review 74:Everything little thing had been thought of...tv instructions, maps, menus for restaurants, fridge, plates/cutlery....and a lovely cup cake on arrival :)

Review 75:Great welcome after a long day travelling. Rooms were lovely and spotless. Breakfast was lovely and very enjoyable overlooking the lovely garden. Natalie and Mark are great hosts Will definitely be back!

Review 76:Having to leave.

Review 77:Natalie thinks of everything - even down to paper plates with clingfilm and disposable cutlery-just in case you need it! A truly magical b&b- wish we 'd had time to enjoy the garden.

Review 78:Nothing at all.

Review 79:Owners are so nice, breakfast was great, the property is adorable, the bunnies!, the gardens!, the cupcakes!, the room is super comfy and quiet.

Review 80:There should be a common room where the family can meet up and do something together.. I believe the breakfast room/ their living room was opened only in the morning for breakfast..

Review 81:The breakfast was amazing and both the hosts were super friendly and sweet.. Would definitely recommend this place for a short stay .. Although one of the rooms was really cramped for a couple, the one we got was decent in size and had a nice view.. The garden was really nicely maintained and they had super cute rabbits ..

Review 82:Natalie, the owner and her husband were really great and friendly..great location and very very cozy rooms...the breakfast was also very amazing and detailed...

Review 83:Very clean and tidy, with very welcoming hosts. Natalie and Mark have put a lot of efforts to offer the best service to the travellers, and it feels like it. Feels very homy.

Review 84:We had a very wonderful stay at this B&B. The couple managing the place was very friendly and most welcoming. Their hospitality makes the stay a very memorable experience for us, even though we stayed only for the night and had to depart early in the morning. The room was very cosy and well maintained too. Thanks Mark and Natalie.

Review 85:There wasn'tvanything we didn't like
