Review 6:The bedroom in which we stayed had all the amenities needed and desired. The breakfast was good. With enough options to get you energized to explore Fort Augustus. The staff is just out of this world. The hostess is nothing short of amazing. Recommended.
Review 7:There was nothing that I didn't like.
Review 8:The house is very beautiful and lady of the house (Carol) is very nice. The town itself is the small with 4-5 places to eat and drink but very lovely town. Perfect for relaxing holidays.

Review 13:Very welcoming landlady who was very flexible and allowed us a late breakfast. The downstairs room was great, nicely furnished, with good facilities, e.g. even had dvd's in the room. Bathroom was a very good size and more than met our requirements. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Eggs/smoked salmon, porridge and freshly baked croissants. Lovely!
Review 14:Wonderful owner. The room was not only luxuary but comfortable and quiet. The location was also good. The B&B stands just behind the river and close to Loch Ness.
Review 15:The TV could only play DVDs and the ensuite bathroom was one of the smallest I have ever seen.
Review 16:The hotel was in a quiet location, close to all amenities. Our host was very friendly and recommended places to eat and places to visit. The breakfast was also very good.
Review 17:We had a bit of a problem locating the hostess when we got locked out of our room, but we finally got it sorted out and all was fine. The bathroom needed some repairs - the hot water faucet was loose and the grouting in the shower was coming out.
Review 18:Excellent breakfast. Very friendly hostess. The canal was just below the inn and you could watch the boats go through from the deck.
Review 19:The only downside was having to book our breakfast the night before. But it was delicious!
Review 20:Clean and comfortable, Great location and a very talkative and helpful owner. Will definitely stay here again.
Review 21:The room was very small, but I knew that before going there. However it was charged at the same rate as much bigger rooms. I feel it should have been at a reduced rate.
Review 22:Breakfast was best bit of the stay, but was too much to finish comfortably. Owner could save money if food portions were reduced.
Review 23:Not discovering the guest house soon enough to book for a full week
Review 24:Its lofty position ensured that we couldn't miss Caledonian House when we arrived at Fort Augustus and the host`s warm reception ensured that we felt very welcome The en-suite room was spacious and comfortable and the hearty full breakfast kept us going till evening. In short, a satisfying stay that we would happily repeat.
Review 25:Overpriced for what we got. Lovely location on the waterfront (canal & locks) but we were in a room by the road and so was breakfast. Disappointing.

Review 29:the owner was very friendly and chatty, you did not feel like a stranger very welcoming . breakfast was great with a good choice , we were cycling and needed to leave early before breakfast but we had the room left open for us to help ourselves before we went. there is also a secure place to leave the bikes if cycling and the location is perfect just opposite the locks would certainly recommend a stay here and i will be going back.

Review 87:Location by canal Breakfast
Review 88:Room is small, especially the bathroom. Furnishing is a little bit old.
Review 89:Staff is friendly and the breakfast is great. Good location in the city centre.
Review 90:Creaky floorboards and thin walls but then we have encountered those in EVERY place we have stayed in our 2 weeks in the UK. seems to be common and acceptable here.
Review 91:Friendly and welcoming, lovely place to stay.
Review 92:The shower was a little tricky but the overall experience of staying here was so pleasant.
Review 93:The woman who runs this place is absolutely lovely. She gave advice about where to eat and what to do and was just an absolute pleasure. She cooked an amazing breakfast too! We booked the smallest room and she called in advance just to let us know it was small and was that ok.
Review 94:Carol was very friendly & helpful. Gave our daughter her choice of rooms. The plan had a wonderful welcoming feel to it. Would definitely stay again
Review 95:Annoying light outside, maybe some darker curtains could be installed?
Review 96:Very friendly host, continental breakfast as a choice, great wifi, tv with DVD player in room, nice clean bathroom.
Review 97:It's in a lovely spot at the southern end of Loch Ness, and was very welcoming after a 4 hour walk around the Falls of Foyers. Lovely house, great breakfast and funny owner (not in an odd way)
Review 98:Fixed time for breakfast - OK for me but perhaps not ideal for some travellers.
Review 99:Very pleasant service. Nice outlook from my room towards the canal locks. Good choice of breakfast options. Overall, a very easy and comfortable place to stay.
Review 100:The size of the room
Review 101:We received a very warm welcome at Caledonian House. The view from our room overlooking the Caledonian Canal was very pleasant. Although the room was comfortable it was very small (we had been told this) and the ensuite had few places to put anything. Continental breakfast was good with home baked Croissants, cheese ham and grapes but the amount outfaced us and the second morning we opted for half portions! We noticed that the cooked breakfasts would also set you up for the day. We enjoyed our stay and found good dining at the Boathouse and Lovat restaurants.
Review 102:Loved it all.
Review 103:Location superb in a small village totally suited to a relaxing and rewarding stay. Facilities great, view delightful and host very attentive to needs.
Review 104:Ground floor nature of room made me reluctant to open window at night
Review 105:Proprietor was very friendly and helpful. Bed was large and comfortable and breakfast set us up for another long, hard walk
Review 106:Could not find fault with this guest house, would definitely recommend to other people visiting beautiful Fort Augustus.
Review 107:Carol the lady who runs the guest house was extremely friendly and helpful, as were the other members of staff we met. The guest house is very comfortable and the breakfast very good with plenty of choice. We stayed in the family room, even though there was only two of us, which had a small but perfectly formed ensuite with plenty of towels and toiletries. The bed was very comfortable, not too hard.
Review 108:Carol the proprietor was warm and efficient. Breakfast delicious. Location picturesque and convenient. Decor - warm, attractive with quirky touches.
Review 109:n/a
Review 110:Everything from check in to check out was stellar. The owner is absolutely darling and incredibly helpful. Breakfast was a true joy as it was made to order. By far this would be the best sleep we had out of our 3 weeks in the UK. All six of us highly recommend this fantastic B&B, your Ft. Augustus trip would be incomplete without it!
Review 111:We thought that Carol, the proprietor was a real character who made you feel really welcome, as did her staff. The breakfasts were awesome and the location next to the canal was central to everything.
Review 112:The location was perfect. We had a view of the locks from our room. Several restaurants within walking distance. Less expensive than the Caledonian Hotel. Don't confuse the two.
Review 113:Bathrooms a bit small.
Review 114:Very friendly and helpful owner and a superb location on the lock side in the centre of Fort Augustus. Excellent and huge full Scottish breakfast.
