Review 2:The location is great and the facilities are excellent ,luvly atmosphere friendly crew and the restaurant was superb .
Review 3:A lot of the food on menu in room was not available. The hotel were not able to see booking.com payment so I had to pay again. Now waiting for a refund. I think the food (room service) was expensive for what it was.
Review 4:The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Good location. Clean, comfortable beds.
Review 5:Staff were incredibly polite and friendly. Some of the best customer service received in a while! Hotel is beautiful and exceptional value for money. Extremely clean. Staff attentive to every need. Would 100% stay again and recommend this hotel to others. So impressed! Breakfast options were superb and so cheap for what is on offer.
Review 6:Nothing.
Review 7:The staff were lovely and let us book in a bit earlier than stated. We were also upgraded to a room with a sea view, which was a nice surprise. Breakfast was excellent.
Review 8:Lady at reception very pleasant and upgraded us to a seaview room even though we had just booked a standard room. Lovely comfy bed and excellent fresh breakfast.
Review 9:I suppose the worst experience I had was having to leave. But in regards to the hotel, the only grumble I had (which is probably petty!) Was that the corridor leading to the reception desk was just a little narrow!
Review 10:The views outside on a morning were truly spectacular! Whilst waiting on a friend they were very pleasing to the eye! I very much appreciated the bedroom itself, nice comfortable bed in a decent sized room! Not too big, nor too small!
Review 11:All the staff were friendly and very helpful, they were all happy to advise us on where to go & where to avoid! All welcoming, would definitely recommend! & would definitely return here again!
Review 12:Good location, i had a beautiful walk on the beech at night, I dident book any wue it was if you want to drink the bar is there all in all there is a good vibe to the place.
Review 13:Location - away from centre but an easy walk to all attractions. Well equipped with good double glazing removing any street noise - rooms at front have great views across sea. Staff top class.

Review 16:Nothing
Review 17:Well maintained hotel with good facilities. Excellent staff and a friendly, almost local feel to the bar. Great food at competitive prices and free parking.
Review 18:Would have liked skimmed milk to be available and perhaps a more pleasing customer service at breakfast.
Review 19:The helpfulness of the staff at reception. The evening meal, the room.
Review 20:I had some health problems I would like to thank the staff for assisting me through a very difficult time they are very professional and a great location with great resterauats I just wish I had more time to at this wonderful location see it for yourself ....
Review 21:THe bathroom had no work surfaces to lay anything on. A lack of mirrors in well lit areas. (We know that other rooms were better. )
Review 22:The staff were very friendly and helpful. The meals were excellent. The location was good
Review 23:The chef deserved better waiting staff in the evening. Not everyone seemed to know what was going on in the dining room. A little tweaking in the training and job done !!
Review 24:They had an excellent chef and food presentation was very very good.
Review 25:was really happy with the breakfast due to it not being very warm. or much of choice a. And wasn't informed before booking that at weekends breakfast is done differently.and would have perferred a bigger window to catch more of the view . or even a room with a balcony would have being lovely.
Review 26:Having free parking was great value location was great too.
Review 27:The road in front of the hotel is very noisy. There is also a pub downstairs - not too crowded though. The bathroom is very old, but is rather well-maintained.
Review 28:Excellent views (obviously in the sea view room), very comfortable bed, clean, cosy room.
Review 29:The staff in this hotel are amazing! From the minute we arrived they did their utmost to make sure everything was fine. We ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was really well prepared and served. Breakfast was freshly cooked and there was plenty of choice. A really good find in Southend!
Review 30:Bed was very hard, rooms quite close together, had a man coughing all night next door!! Wouldn't put me off staying again though.
Review 31:Staff were fantastic, so friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was amazing! Hotel so spotlessly clean. Can't wait to visit again.
Review 32:The toilet seat in our bathroom was broken (although still useable) and the bed was a little too hard for us.
Review 33:The staff were very helpful and friendly and the room was a great size and very clean.
Review 34:Very happy with everything, staff excellent breakfast the same and the ungraded room very clean just cannot find any faults at all and hopefully will return in the future.
Review 35:Room was a nice size, nice modern and clean. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Evening meal was fantastic and so was breakfast. It has the personal touch that bigger hotels have lost. you could either be with people or be on your own. very relaxed
Review 36:Breakfast finishes a little to early in our opinion, when you are on holiday its nice to have a lay in at times. Maybe extend the breakfast times til atleast 11am :)
Review 37:The room was lovely, the bed was very comfy and the staff nice and friendly.
Review 38:Wi-Fi was poor in my room, but it was acknowledged, and upon a return visit was given a different room with better coverage.
Review 39:The location was great, beachfront, the room and facilities were comfortable, good breakfasts.
Review 40:Beautiful hotel in a great location. We received a free upgrade to a suite and it was perfect. Right on the water so fabulous views. Staff very friendly.
Review 41:Despite all the efforts to improve it, it still has the feel of an old-fashioned English seaside hotel.
Review 42:All the staff were excellent - very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable, and the breakfast was great, and there was ample (free) parking!
Review 43:The bathroom was cramped. Dull "traditional" furniture in the room - could lose that to make more space.
Review 44:Great location, excellent staff, free parking. The breakfast is well worth pre-booking. Modern TV.
Review 45:The bed always looked smooth and comfortable until the duvet was turned down to show a very wrinkled bottom sheet which had to be sorted before we went to bed.
Review 46:We spent the first night of our honeymoon here 45 years previously. It was a walk down memory lane for us.
Review 47:very small hotel/four rooms together at end of corridor, hear people next door talking/bed not nice/no air con/rear parking doesnt belong to hotel its for anyone and i struggled on both nights to get a space
Review 48:friendly staff/clean room/good location
Review 49:Vegetarian choice for breakfast is limited, no veggie sausages or similar.
Review 50:Hotel is clean, tastefully decorated, convenient location with free parking. Very friendly staff.
Review 51:10-15 min walk from the nearest station, has a great restaurant on site and also a restaurant or two within close walking distance. Right on the beach and great value for money. Probably needed a pillow more each but had cushions and we had a good nights sleep. Lovely little hotel. I'd stay again if I were in the area and do recommend it too.
Review 52:Staff went out of there way to make us feel comfortable and welcome. Room was spacious, spotlessly clean and had everything you could possibly ask for. Food in the restaurant was amazing.
Review 53:The beautiful views of the seafront and short walk from seafront attractions! Staff very helpful and got us a double bed room as we booked for a twin room! The key to the hotel was very helpful as we was out late too!
Review 54:Room was very cold. Stayed 2 days. Asked for heating to be turned on on 1st day which was done. However it was off again by that night and had to ask again the next mmorning.
Review 55:Staff were pleasant and friendly. Plenty of space and loads of plug sockets in the room.
Review 56:As I had a late night I didn't appreciate being woken up at 9am by chamber maids talking very loudly outside my door.
Review 57:Hotel was very comfortable and very clean. Staff were helpful and friendly.
Review 58:We were greeted well and treated extremely well. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Our room was lovely. We had breakfast which was excerlent and value for money. Overall a lovely hotel to stay in.
Review 59:Poor wifi connection. We stayed in a four poster bed but couldn't watch TV from bed due to the posts. No TV available on Sunday morning, not sure if connection was lost.
Review 60:Staff were fantastic!
Review 61:The annexe rooms require a little more soundproofing as we were able to hear upstairs going into their bathroom and toilet flushing, next room coughing and general laughter and voices.
Review 62:Friendliness and professionalism of all staff. Cleanliness. The room was of a good size. Good choice of breakfast offered. Car park available
Review 63:Car parking
Review 64:All if it. I've stayed in a lot of hotels and this hotel is one of the best. Shame we were unable to stay longer especially as we were upgraded!
Review 65:The staff are sooo friendly and kind, full of smiles, happy to assist and you feel genuinely welcomed. The breakfast was delicious and the upgrade to sea view was very kind. Also enjoyed my afternoon in the hotel bar. Just perfect all round really.
Review 66:Car park - Awful car park very bad potholes. Wifi was intermittent and slow, Quite expensive but still worth it. Housekeeping did not clean the room because we were there when they first tried but they did not come back.

Review 73:Only one thing I would of liked the breakfast included in the price but it was a fantastic breakfast thank you :)
Review 74:Room modern, bright, clean and warm. Had all you could need and want tea coffe hot chocolate biscuits room service wiffi and more
Review 75:The mattress had a waterproof cover on it which made the bed extremely uncomfortable and sweaty. There are better mattress protectors available that don't have this effect.
Review 76:The reception staff were lovely and extremely helpful. The room was exactly what we wanted.
Review 77:There was an outside light on all night which shone through the curtains which was slightly annoying.
Review 78:We only stayed for one night but would definitely go back.
Review 79:Someone had been smoking in the room and it needed a really good airing.
Review 80:The room was spacious and warm, all equipment was of good quality brands, the bed was comfortable and the staff were really attentive.
Review 81:the room and the staff... worth more than we paid... couldnt ask for more and brilliant rooms. breakfast was great and location is great. highly recommended
Review 82:The walls were a bit thin. Probably because my room was on the top floor, the water pressure wasn't always good.
Review 83:I was pleased to be given a double room at no extra cost. Very comfortable bed and fast wi-fi. I didn't even use all the facilities such as the restaurant and bar. The staff were very welcoming.
Review 84:The hotel is lovely. It's in a great spot, right on the water. The staff are really friendly and the rooms are private, spacious, clean and look and feel new. Everything down to the furniture is excellently done in the rooms and they provided lots of tea and coffee supplies as well as free wi-Fi. Room service was also great and really fast despite the restaurant holding multiple Christmas functions (from which I heard no noise!). I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking at hotels around the area and I know I will be back when I'm next in Southend.
Review 85:The passages are rather narrow, and proved a bit difficult for wheelchair access, but we managed.
Review 86:Staff always very pleasant, (and they really do smile, and have a little chat) nothing too much trouble for them. The Breakfasts were fantastic, (we did not have other meals there) Spotless accommodation, very tastefully decorated. Very very reasonably priced. Will definitely use this establishment again.

Review 88:Would have liked an option of a full vegetarian cooked breakfast.
Review 89:I liked the modern feel and the cleanliness. Staff very friendly. Good value for money. Lovely location. Not too far out from centre of town. Lovely sea view.
Review 90:We have stayed in Southend on a number of occasions to visit friends, so normally choose a Premier Inn as we really only need it for somewhere to sleep but this hotel is the type I would choose if I was planning a several day stay for sightseeing etc. it was a very pleasant hotel and although we did not use the dining room or bar they both looked very inviting.
Review 91:not getting an option for even a continental breakfast when i booked out early prior to breakfast even though they had a night porter available
Review 92:friendly staff small bar lounge and sky tv cleanliness
Review 93:Hotel staff very polite and helpfull room clean comfortable and decorated nicely breakfast was very cheap but that did not affect its quality all round lovely comfy stay will definitely return

Breakfast was good once you found out the code Sunday breakie being a buffet at the extra cost of £5 each it was worth it however. Would I stay again proberly
