Reviews for Avon Accommodation

Review 1:Very uncomfortable bed. Slept on better mattresses when I was staying in hostels back-packing through Central America 10 years ago! Noise from the pub in the evening - music and conversations. They turned down the music a little when we requested, but you could still hear all the noise from below. Noise from A-road running out the back of the pub, and noise from the main road out the front. I do not recommend this location if you're looking for proper R&R. Bit creepy on arrival entering the darkened pub (it was shut when I arrived and my partner wasn't with me) and hunting around for the door to our apartment.

Review 2:Close to local pubs/restaurants Room has loads of character. Proximity to the New Forest.

Review 3:your scoring system does not work. Picture and details of room was not like when we arrived. Bedroom off main befroom uncomfortable settee's very poor lighting. Pub shut!!!

Review 4:Ringwood was quite pleasant

Review 5:We loved staying in a place with history and old world charm. It was lovely and the hosts put in extra personal touches, such as welcome package. It was a great base for exploring the region and new forest.

Review 6:The two sofas in the lounge were the most uncomfortable I have ever sat on. Whilst there thatched roof was bring maintained men walking past the window and work started at 8sm no lie in.... Privacy

Review 7:Location

Review 8:There was no window we could open in the smaller bedroom.

Review 9:It was easy to find, staff very helpful on arrival. When we got up to the apartment we were very pleased with the size. It was easy to get back onto the A35, there was tea coffee, sugar and milk in the cupboards. Lots of good places to eat, within walking distance.

Review 10:The propety is opposite the towns main bus depot. It is very noisy from the hours of arround 5:30 and it woke us on each morning. Also the A31 runs behind the property and again just breaks the peaceful setting of this amazing place Such a shame

Review 11:It is a beautiful property and is well maintained and equiped, with everything you need on your doorstep. Great location to visit the new forest. Ringwood itself is a lovely town

Review 12:The bunbeds and the double bed were really uncomfortable they need to change the mattresses we had to put Quilt's to make them a bit comfortable one of the foldable beds had the flaps broken. There wasn't any internet at all when we complaind we were told its because they have thick walls!! No hood/extractor on the hob the apartment ended smelling of food each time we tried to cook, also most of the windows were seeled with perspex you can't open them and there wasn't an adequate place to plug the kettle or toaster there was an extation on the floor which is not safe at all. Also what we found annoying on our last day staying there the owner sort of ranted at us at our sursprise in front of other costumers that we never dined at his restaurant and instead he named at specifically other restaurant we have been at. I believe its none of his business we only rented a self catering apartment and not someone watching over us.We never considered eating at the restaurant as most of the times of our stay there the restaurant was mostly always closed.

Review 13:The location was very good

Review 14:The only negative comment I have is due to the level of noise from the restaurant. Of an evening, in the living area of 'Avon View', we could hear every word of the conversations taking place below us (quite noisy when the restaurant is busy), which seemed to be competing with the restaurant's stereo. The restaurant had always emptied quite a bit by bedtime so didn't affect sleeping at all, it just made relaxing in front of the telly a bit tricky. Overall it was a shame, but I suppose it is down to the age of the property.

Review 15:The location of this property was excellent; a short walk to all the local shops, and a short drive into the New Forest. Also really handy for Moors Valley Park. It's also a very beautiful period property.

Review 16:limited kitchen facilities (no oven)

Review 17:interesting building central location bottle of wine, milk & cereal on arrival very useful very helpful staff

Review 18:Sofas are very basic and quite uncomfortable. Kitchen very basic with very low water pressure.

Review 19:Good location and excellent restaurant food. Nice sized rooms.

Review 20:Lack of ventilation - too hot to sleep in second bedroom - kids ended up on the floor in the seating area.

Review 21:Lovely building, friendly staff, accommodation well equipped. Would suit family with younger children very well

Review 22:With out a doubt we loved just staying in such a building! So quaint and fun! For a group of six adults we were very comfortable in both apartments especially as we are very light travellers and didn't have trouble getting our cases up the narrow winding stairs to the apartments. Sunday lunch just after our arrival was a great way to kick off our four nights here. It is a very short walk to the bus stop, the shops in Ringwood and some other good restaurants. Dinner at the Old Cottage was delicious as well. Paul, Marilyn and Carol were very attentive to our needs and we really enjoyed meeting them. Welcome bottle of wine was a nice touch.

Review 23:You are above the pub so can hear everything. Go through pub to get to apartment. Kids room is above the kitchen so they won't sleep. Entry to 2nd bunkbed bedroom is through main bedroom. Main door downstairs to pub didn't seem very secure. Uneven floors due to age.

Review 24:Little kitchenette had microwave and electric hob. Great location. Very old world 13th century building.

Review 25:My mum was visiting from the States on her first visit to the UK. Being in a thatched roof apartment was novel for her and she loved all the unique features: the tiny winding staircase and the overall architecture from a previous era; yet all fitted with modern conveniences which blended in nicely. We had a lovely view of a little park from the window and considering we were close to a busy motorway (unseen but beyond the park), we couldn't hear it at all! All-in-all a lovely stay.

Review 26:A very charming accommodation. Very clean and perfect for a short break. Staff we're very helpful and friendly. Would recommend as a great place to stay.

Review 27:The electrics, the shower, the shower curtain the linen and master bed. The fact that nobody welcomed us or asked if things were ok. The apartment doesn't suit 4 adults, more two adults and two young children. This place could be very nice if it was afforded a little bit of thought and TLC

Review 28:The look of the cottage especially outside. The price.

Review 29:Attention to detail was great - milk and wine in fridge waiting for us - yay! Great facilities for travelling with young children. Would happily return

Review 30:Noisy & Outdated Interior

Review 31:Pet Friendly, Cooking Facilities, Location, Building Exterior, Value for Money, Complimentory Bottle.

Review 32:The hard bed!

Review 33:Quirkiness, service and value for money

Review 34:The sofas and bed were far too uncomfortable

Review 35:Bed was rather uncomfortable.

Review 43:Everything

Review 44:Noise carries from the restuarant when open.

Review 45:Location. Lovely character building. Dog friendly. Good restuarant.

Review 46:The food was excellent and the accomodation was just lovely!

Review 47:Nice welcome pack. Restaurant was also very good.

Review 48:Kitchen was an equiped cupboard only - no hot water

Review 49:Unfortunately there was a few problems such as, the apartment was very hot and the bedroom window was boarded off, once complained and they took it off. The bedroom curtains were just wedged on and kept falling down on us. The water pressure is poor. I really think the apartment needs some fixing up as I think it is over priced for what it is currently like.

Review 50:Good location, nice little pub.

Review 51:The water pressure in the bathroom was unacceptable. I was unable to rinse the shampoo out of my long hair. My boyfriend with short hair also had difficulty. I would recommend this facility be removed from Booking.com until they upgrade the plumbing. Additionally, the electricity needs to be updated. The voltage blew up my hair dryer which worked fine in a hotel in London. It may seem charming to stay in a hotel built in the 14th Century, but they need to upgrade plumbing and electricity before they continue renting to guests. Finally, we stayed for five days and they do not clean the room, nor provide clean towels or sheets.

Review 52:It's location in town.

Review 53:Very well equipped for a family , location perfect as a base with good facilities within walking distance to the property. Clean, cosy & comfortable, great value. We would highly recommend it and we will definitely come back again.

Review 54:The stairs were a bit scary for us oldies but we managed them.

Review 55:The accommodation was lovely, everything was good quality. The bed was very comfortable and the bedroom large. Also we had a flat screen tv in both the bedroom and the sitting room. It was nice to have milk, coffee, tea, cereals and a good bottle of wine, a nice touch.

Review 56:noise from the road and music from downstairs restaurant at night. door frame too low not good for tall people

Review 57:nice,clean and cosy place. owner is helpful. restaurant downstairs food is nice. in town and easy to access the shops

Review 58:Wasn't clear entrance to restaurant below. Open times were not advertised on front of restaurant below rooms. No shaver socket in bathroom.

Review 59:Lovely apartment to stay in. So close to the town and surrounding areas in the new forest. Lovely food served in the restaurant. Really friendly staff. Facilities were very well provided.

Review 61:Comfortable, well-equipped apartment. Would happily stay again.

Review 64:Noise from restaurant, hard small double bed, very low pressure for shower

Review 65:Equipped with all you need
