Reviews for The Guest House at Kames

Review 1:Craig was the perfect host and I would not hesitate to stay again. I will come back and the views from the breakfast room are stunning. Thank you Craig

Review 2:We couldn't get the shower to work in the morning, so skipped it - we were only there for one night, so not actually a big deal. Although there was a small kettle and cafetiere in the room there was no coffee or tea, just hot chocolate sachets and UHT milk in little cartons, which unfortunately had gone lumpy and solid. WiFi didn't seem to work. Although an effort had been made, the stay was let down a bit by lack of attention to detail.

Review 3:Our host was very friendly and cooked an amazing breakfast. Very comfortable beds. A great location for our requirements and just a short drive to St Andrews.

Review 4:The only drawback that I could see would be it was not accessible by public transport - I would think a car would be a necessity. Although the owner Craig was very obliging and I am sure would run one down to Cupar where there is a railway station and public transport to the rest of Fife.

Review 5:The location was central for our sight seeing. It is a very comfortable guest house with excellent and informative hospitality. Scenic surroundings, the autumn starling flight appeared every morning and evening.

Review 6:NOTHING

Review 7:The house in the country is lovely and the rooms are very nice. Breakfast in the terrace is great and the food.... oh my God, the best Scottish breackfast i´ve ever had. But the best point of the House is the owner: Craig is a real golf addicted and he played all around the world, inlcluding Augusta!

Review 8:Nothing. Anyone who didn't enjoy this place must be impossible to please

Review 9:Everything. Craig and Morag lovely, and Morag's Lemon Drizzle Cake delicious

Review 10:nothing

Review 11:peacefulness of the surroundings, comfortable bed, cleanliness, helpfulness of hosts, small touches to make your stay more special, such as cookies, scotch, chocolates in the room.

Review 12:Very friendly hosts and left one to relax and unwind.Hosts full of knowledge of the surrounding areas and we were directed to some fine eating places.Breakfast was very good and set one up for the day.

Review 13:The people - they were extremely friendly and helpful, trying to make our stay as enjoyable as possible; the breakfast was excellent; the room and bathroom new and spotlessly clean

Review 14:There is only one concern for me in terms of the safety! The room that we were was sloped ceiling and the position of the bed is in a way that if you want to pass the bed, you have to bend. This is more difficult during the night if you want to use the toilet as you may hit your head to the ceiling. I think sticking some safety signs which are illuminated in dark would help the situation. I highly recommend this guest house.

Review 15:We found this guest house via booking.com. The guest house is excellent. The owners, Craig and Morag, are lovely and friendly people with great hospitality. The guest house has 2 rooms (I think!). We were in the room with the view of the back garden (when you go towards the stairs, to the right). Craig was waiting for us when we arrived and he came out to welcome us and helped us with the luggage. At the arrival, Morag gave us freshly baked cake which was delicious. The first night, Craig suggested us to go to Elie beach which is about 20 minutes drive from the guest house. It is a very beautiful beach with pubs so you can sit in front of the beach and enjoy the view or if you have kids, they can enjoy playing in the beach. We had a delicious cooked breakfast next day. We went to Falkland to visit the Falkland Palace. It is a beautiful historical Palace. You can see the oldest tennis court of the world as well in this Palace. For the second day, I had the poach haddock for the breakfast as Craig suggested which was fantastic. I highly recommend to try it! The guest house has a very good free wifi if you need.

Review 39:The location of the guest house was lovely: beautiful green farmland and very easy access to the East Neuk of Fife. Both Craig and Morag were very obliging, accommodating owners, who made us very welcome in their home.

Review 40:Hospitality superb from entry to exit during our all too short stay, delicious home made cake and coffee were offered as soon as we arrived, the room itself was beautifully furnished with a large immaculate ensuite. But it was the little extras touches that made it so special..nothing was a bother to our lovely hosts,Craig and Morag thank you .Five star.

Review 41:Superb hospitality, beautiful, modern, clean rooms, excellent breakfast, ideal venue to visit and play the best golf in Scotland. Highly recommended!!!

Review 42:We liked everything about this guest house and could not find a fault ! It is a little gem in the countryside yet close to St Andrews, golf and beautiful coastline. Modern spotless accommodation . Excellent breakfast ( especially the smoked haddock and poached egg ) and little unexpected touches ( tablet in the room and homemade gingerbread for supper). Craig and Morag are welcoming and attentive. We would thoroughly recommend it.
