Reviews for Tachbrook Mallory House

Review 1:Loved the comfortable room and friendly staff. Others I met during my stay were regular visitors and I can see why. I particularly enjoyed the breakfasts sitting by the fire.

Review 2:The owner Hassan was amazing, so welcoming, friendly and couldn't do enough for us. So many amazing stories! :) The house itself is stunningly beautiful a rare gem. Looking forward to the next stay.

Review 3:Our only comment is in the dark the entrance to the house was hard to spot from the road.

Review 4:The location for us was perfect for visiting L/Spa, the attic room at the house with oak beams was perfect the sort of room you would be happy to pay extra for. The cooked breakfast outstanding and the owner very accommodating and helpful.

Review 5:Could have more toiletries in the bathroom. The signage was not too clear and the driveway was quite dark.

Review 6:Quiet location, historical building. Wonderful breakfast.

Review 7:None

Review 8:The welcome and the opportunity to talk with friendly and knowledgeable hosts. The history of the property is reflected in the relaxed feeling within the whole house.

Review 9:Nice garden and countryside setting. Host was very friendly and prepared a perfect English breakfast. Great for visiting Warwick, Leamington, Stratford etc.

Review 10:I was made to feel very welcome. The room was stunning. The owner came out to greet me when I arrived after a long trip. The furniture and surroundings made me feel very comfortable. After a great nights sleep I had a wonderful breakfast. Thank you. Would definitely visit again and would recommend to others.

Review 11:Just personally---there was a super corner bath but with hand-held shower, which I hate, as always worried about splashing....

Review 12:Huge, really comfortable room and bed (good linen); lovely outlook onto garden; easy parking; not too far from Leamington. Amazing old house, full of character

Review 13:Made to feel very welcome by Hassan, family room was comfy and spacious and the house itself had a lot of character to it. Breakfast was beautiful.

Review 14:Only improvement would be the shower instead of mixer taps.

Review 15:Excellent friendly and homely welcome from Hassan - it was like visiting a member of family!

Review 16:The bathroom only had a shower which was of a good standard but would have liked to have had a bath for my children.

Review 17:Our host was a delight. Really friendly and warm. It felt like he really wanted to make an effort to interact with us

Review 18:Being really picky, car parking is a little tight

Review 19:Friendly welcome, exceptionally large and comfortable room and bathroom, lovely house, comfortable bed, freshly cooked to order breakfast

Review 20:We stayed one night and couldn't find anything we didn't like

Review 21:We had a wonderful stay the house itself was fascinating and in a beautiful peaceful location but close to the motorway.

Review 22:Hair in my breakfast then made to feel awkward for asking for fresh Whilst it's a lovely old property the fixtures in the room / bathroom are very tired

Review 23:Location Comfortable bed

Review 24:Only staying two nights!

Review 25:Wonderful to be able to stay in a 16th century house after all the souless "popular" hotels. Our room was enormous with all the comforts.Great bathroom with corner bath.Very good English breakfast,in fact we could not fault it.

Review 26:Fabulous venue - extremely friendly hosts who couldn't do enough for us..........made us feel like we were guests in a friend's house. Strongly recommended.

Review 27:Whilst understanding the owners need to have a break, they need to ensure that those they leave in charge are fully aware and equipped to hold the fort to a similarly high standard as themselves. Whilst being a very sweet and likeable couple, we felt for them as they were so obviously struggling and unsure of what was expected of them. It was difficult to not make comparisons and was certainly not our favourite weekend away regarding accommodation.

Review 28:Our room was spacious and the bed comfortable.

Review 29:to reach our room you need to be a climber, even though the staff was very helpful. this should be clearer in the description.

Review 30:charme and decoration of the house, nice garden

Review 31:I only wish I could have stayed longer to appreciate the house and gardens more. Will have to come back. Be aware that (at least in the room I had) there is only a bath with handheld shower, and no stand-up shower.

Review 32:Incredible historic house, eclectically furnished. Warm welcome and flexible about my arrival times. Delicious freshly cooked full English breakfast.

Review 33:Had a lovely stay and really could not fault much. The only thing I was not sure about was the cat however I never saw it inside the house which was good.

Review 34:Nothing

Review 35:Lovely setting, plenty of character, large and very comfortable rooms. Bed was bliss. Welcomed and shown around by Jennifer, excellent breakfast the following morning.

Review 36:We really enjoyed our stay at Tachbrook Manor House. It is a beautiful house, full of character and history, with a lovely garden. Hassan and Jennifer are very hospitable and make you feel welcome in their home. Hassan prepares an excellent breakfast, and was very obliging when we required it early on the morning of our departure. We stayed in the attic room which has a very steep staircase leading to a large quirky room. I don't think there was a single straight line in the room but it was wonderful! Room was large with a comfortable double bed with a single bed in an adjoining area. In addition to tea and coffee being provided in the room, there were biscuits and herbal teas. There is easy access via car to Leamington Spa and Warwick and a pub/restaurant just a short distance away that is worth a visit. Highly recommended.

Review 37:We loved everything about it. We were travelling with my elderly mother and they just couldn't do enough. Lovely comfy room in a beautiful house. Thank you so much.

Review 38:The attic room was lovely.Very spacious and a new experience. Hassan and Jennifer are so very friendly and make you feel very welcome. A lovely old house.

Review 39:A wonderful location, Fabulous building and the most peaceful nights sleep I think I've ever experienced. There was nothing whatsoever lacking in any area and I couldn't recommend it highly enough.

Review 40:The attic room, which we had, is old-fashioned and a little tatty, and up vertiginous stairs. The other bedrooms looked wonderful however.

Review 41:Eggs laid by the owners own hens and a fab breakfast Beautiful oak panelling and building Friendly and helpful host Clean

Review 42:Too low a shower in the bath . Had to kneel down . Decided to have a bath instead .

Review 43:Beautiful house in great setting with very friendly hostess . Quirky large attic bedroom , great !

Review 44:The water pressure in shower was poor but enjoyed a bath.

Review 45:Jennifer (Owner) was very welcoming and gracious. The room was gorgeous and huge. The bed huge and so confortable. Wifi great and breakfast to order with farm fresh eggs. A stunningly beautiful proprty and stay. Only 30 minutes to Stratford on Avon.

Review 46:Breakfast was great, but too much on a small plate and the egg slightly overcooked for our taste, but all very good quality.

Review 47:Lovely house, huge comfortable room and very friendly and accommodating hosts.

Review 48:At £90.00 per night with no evening meal facilities within walking distance I feel it was overpriced, even though my company were paying.

Review 49:Nice old house with interesting antiques etc

Review 50:Poorly signposted. Small bed. Sloping floor. Strange noises from the floor above. Radiators in room didn't come on until 8am so it was cold when we awoke. My husband was not made to feel welcome when he arrived to check in. 5pm is a very late check in time!

Review 51:Great breakfast. Spacious room. Offered two possible rooms which was good since the attic room we'd reserved was up a treacherous staircase.

Review 52:Nothing not to like! Breakfast by the fire and perfectly poached eggs. Pure excellence !

Review 53:Packed full of charm, I was sorry not to move in permanently! The rooms were all wonderfully adorned and the bed was quite possibly unbeatable. Highly recommend!

Review 54:It comes with a few little concessions to make on comfort and convenience (everything is cranky and has lived a bit) but none of it being a show stopper and that's why you pick this over a hotel chain. A matter of taste really

Review 55:The house certainly has some character and is very quirky. Very friendly owner cooking a good breakfast served in front of the fireplace.

Review 56:Slightly tricky to find in the dark!

Review 57:Definitely not a standard Euro Box room! The house is very old and full of character, super room, excellent breakfast and very enjoyable stay.

Review 58:The WIFI was not working.

Review 59:The owner was very kind and offered to help me get the best price for a taxi, and when I finally decided to travel on train, he even drove me and my friend to a nearby station!

Review 60:The stairs to the attic are impossible to navigate with a case in hand. Low doorways meant I constantly hit my head.

Review 61:Great people, fantastic breakfast, wonderful quirky house with history all around.

Review 62:Lack of a shower ... but the dark brown bathroom suite with gold fittings brought back memories ...

Review 63:Great location for my work purposes and the personal attention by the owner made this a welcome change from the 'production line' approach of larger establishments.

Review 64:Trying to find the House was awfull. There are no signs that indicate where you should turn and if there were they were not lit at 1900 in December (Dark). We rang for directions , that were helpfull however upon arriveing in Tachbrook it still took us 20 minutes of driving up and down and exploring peoples driveways to find the house. For the price (£90) I expected some toiletries. I had flown from abroad with only hand luggage and had no shower gel etc.. ended up using a nearly finished bottle of radox that was left at the side of the bath. Breakfast - Egg, Bacon, Mushrooms, Tomato, Toast. All cold on a cold plate and with an undercooked egg. From now on we will stay at Premier Inns.

Review 65:The Location, in that, it is close to the M40 Motorway. The house is unique, warm and comfortable, there was plenty of hot water the lady that welcomed us was very helpfull.

Review 66:Everything was perfect...no complaints at all!

Review 67:An absolutely fantastic place to stay with so much character! Nothing was too much trouble, and breakfast was better than most hotels. If we stay in the area again we will definitely go back!

Review 68:There was not really anything not to like.

Review 69:Attic suite - so much room ! A quirky place to stay with so much history that the owners are happy to re-tell. Breakfast was a friendly affair as we shared a large oak table with another 2 couples. A place to return to!

Review 70:This internally impressive Elizabethan house is attractively sited in a quiet country park-like location. It is handy for Leamington Spa, Warwick and Stratford-on-Avon as well as for the very nearby Warwickshire Exhibition Centre on Fosse Way. The bedroom was well-appointed and very spacious; it and its bathroom were spotless. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming people. An excellent full English breakfast was much enjoyed in the oak-panelled dining room.

Review 71:The house was beautiful, and mostly original. We went up to attend a concert and the owners even offered to drop us off at the venue for no extra charge so we did not have to worry about parking. They really went the extra mile in everything, I have never experienced such a friendly and helpful host on any other stay.

Review 72:nothing to dislike.

Review 73:friendliness of owners was exceptional.attic room was large ,quirky but delightful.double bed was very comfortable and water was piping hot. excellent value for money.look forward to a return visit one day.

Review 74:Jennifer and Hassan were excellent hosts who obviously enjoyed meeting their guests and helped to ensure a great stay. We stayed in the PIne room and the bed was very comfortable. The en-suite shower room was excellent as was the breakfast. First stay but definitely not the last.

Review 75:Stairs to the attic room were hazardous and I am amazed they have passed any inspection for licensing as a b&b. Breakfast was very poor with virtually no choice--no fruits, yoghourt etc. there was a full cooked breakfast that was pretty greasy with hard eggs and poorly presented

Review 76:Loved the house, the ambience and the friendly owner. Great view from the room over the gardens and massive room. Massive bed also. I tend to have light breakfasts but I did have poached egges and htey were fine. The Leopard is within easy walking distance (there is a footpath along the main road so it is safe) and serves an excellent evening meal.

Review 77:Ideal location for visiting son living as a student in South Leamington Very spacious and well equipped accommodation. Very friendly and welcoming staff.

Review 78:Although the bed was large and comfortable, having to share a bed with my (very restless) wife, despite requesting twin beds, led to a poor night's sleep. In fairness, I was probably over tired to sleep due to a long and demanding drive.

Review 79:The House, probably 16th/17th century. The furniture, oak paneling and contents were in keeping with the house but with unusual and exotic additions, reflecting the Iranian owner's excellent tastes. Both he and his wife were friendly, helpful and welcoming and we should like to stay here again.

Review 80:I can't think of anything

Review 81:The historic B & B house has great atmosphere and character. The owners are friendly and we enjoyed our conversations with them. We would definitely stay there again if we are in the area.

Review 82:Made to feel very welcome. Like going back in time, stayed in attic room which was unusual & quirky, very comfortable bed. Breakfast very tasty using fresh eggs from own hens. An enjoyable experience.

Review 83:I cannot think of anything or anyone to object about. It was a comfortable and pleasant experience.

Review 84:We received a very warm welcome from Hassan on arrival. Our bedroom was large and comfortable with a well fitted large bathroom which was very clean with plenty of products for guests to use. Plenty of food available for breakfast with a well cooked option and delicious coffee.

Review 85:The B&B is set in a lovely house full of character. I was met by the host who made me feel very welcome. The bed and linen were all excellent with feather pillows. Slept very well and had an breakfast in the morning..

Review 86:Slightly cool reception. Limited choice of breakfast.

Review 87:Beautiful old character building. Large room.Lovely walled garden that the owners were happy for us to wander around. Breakfast served by the gentleman of the house who is a fascinating character; told us about some land he has bought in his homeland and that he is cultivating.

Review 88:Nothing.

Review 89:A fabulous place to stay. We were attending WES National Finals, as were another couple staying and Tachbrook Mallory House just made our weekend even better. Beautiful house and surroundings, relaxed atmosphere and wonderful hosts. We had the attic room which was quite quirky but we loved it.

Review 90:Nothing to dislike

Review 91:Everything. Jennifer and Hassan were very welcoming and accommodating .The house is amazing very comfortable and has so much history .Hassan provided fresh eggs from his hens and home grown fruit for breakfast.Cannot recommend highly enough.Look forward to returning in future.

Review 92:We liked the atmosphere and character of the house, which dates back to the 16th century. Our hosts were helpful and pleasant, even providing us with eggs, freshly laid by their hens. The beds were extremely comfortable. Thank you.

Review 93:Stairs to attic suite awkward when carrying a heavy bag!

Review 94:Opportunity to stay in an Elizabethan house (1594). Excellent hospitality and breakfast. Convenient location with parking and pleasant grounds. Plenty of space in attic suite.

Review 95:We stayed just one night in the Attic room and it was fabulous, so much character! The hosts were wonderful, Hassan even took the trouble to drive us in to Leamington Spa to a restaurant we had booked for dinner, rather then us have to pay for a taxi to and from the house. Breakfast was lovely also. Excellent, quirky and beautiful house, would definitely recommend!

Review 96:Wonderful hosts went out of their way to accommodate our needs even giving us a lift to the wedding we were attending nearby. Fab breakfast and quirky house.

Review 97:Jenny and Hassan are very friendly and welcoming, and make you feel at home. The house is lovely, rooms are large and facilities are excellent. I'll definitely be staying again.

Review 98:We liked everything about our stay

Review 99:Tachbrook Mallory House is a wonderful place to stay and we highly recommend it to other travellers. The house is full of character and our bedroom was large and comfortable with a modern ensuite shower room. Hassan and Jennifer are friendly and hospitable hosts, who make you feel very welcome. Hassan prepares an excellent breakfast and he was extremely obliging when we needed an early breakfast on the second day of our stay. The grounds around the house are delightful and tranquil. There is easy access to Leamington and Warwick via car. We would not hesitate to book again.

Review 100:Jennifer and Hassan (the owner's are very welcoming and friendly and go out of their way to make the stay enjoyable. The rooms are very large and comfortable. The gardens around are lovely and perfect if you have a little dog. There are many restaurants and things to do a few minutes drive away.

Review 101:The owners went out of their way to ensure we were catered for on both nights my mate and I stayed. Jennifer prepared sandwiches, crisps, fruit and drinks for our day, as our early start meant we were going to miss breakfast. The house is lovely, and built in 1570 we were told. Stay here if you want a friendly welcome in historic surroundings.

Review 102:Lovely house, room was comfortable and very well proportioned.

Review 109:The hospitality of the owner. Location close to Leamington Spa and Warwick.

Review 110:Very spacious room in a house full of character! Inclusive cost. Generous breakfast.

Review 111:Felt like we were an imposition on the owner rather than welcome guests/customers

Review 112:Beautiful house

Review 113:Wonderful interesting house very comfortable room and very warm welcome
