Review 6：Loved the breakfast and the attention to detail Chris has with the whole place. An extremely pleasant experience, just what I needed. A friendly host, a very comfortable room, and excellent value for money. I would certainly stay again if I'm in the area.

Review 8：Nicely furnished room in an older house. Breakfast was good, and nothing was too much trouble for the owners, who were also having to cope with their (very beautiful) 12 week old daughter.

Review 10：Owners were so lovely offering advice on estate agents and maps of the local area. Vegetarian breakfast was gorgeous and they even had veggie sausages which were delicious! Room was exceptionally clean with great tea & coffee facilities. Bathroom modern and great power shower. Also lovely toiletries!
Review 11：Being an old property, there is no double glazing of any kind and it is located almost on the pavement of a busy road which seems to have a lot of traffic even in the small hours so I got only about four hours sleep which is not enough when you're on a very long journey.

Review 20：The Room was recently decorated and super clean. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We travelled with 2 bikes and storing them was no problem at all. Highly recommended
Review 21：As of December 2014 this is their second year and as the trade continues to establish itself it will be an even nicer place to stay with all the rooms refurbished with modern fixtures and fittings. I must admit I would have loved a lounge with a woodburner for those post-fell winter afternoons and as an American Express cardholder I'm always pleased when I can pay using that card which I couldn't at Sonata but I do understand there's a cost implication for small businesses.
Review 22：Faultless stay at this charming guesthouse in Kendal. Chris and Inoka are great hosts, with a background in hospitality their attention to detail in the guest experience really does show. The room I stayed in wasn't one of the refurbished rooms but was nevertheless perfectly adequate for a three-night stay in December. A hot and powerful shower proved welcome after days walking across snowy fells, the blackout blind and premium bedding gave me a great night's sleep (although I did throw sweater over the clock radio's display which brightly illuminated the room). A strong and stable Wifi connection enabled me to check weather conditions, bus timetables, maps and upload my routes to Garmin. The breakfast (and for that matter the in-room cosmetics) ingredients are admirably locally-obtained and generously cooked and served. The buffet options are neatly presented and there's a good choice of cereals for those who've not yet kicked the refined sugar habit! I would be delighted to stay with Chris & Inoka again and would wholeheartedly recommend Sonata to any travellers choosing to stay in Kendal.
Review 23：Can't think of anything. It is a small guesthouse and anyone expecting more than what is provided should get realistic and book a big hotel and pay a lot more, and then not get such friendly, helpful hosts!
Review 24：V pleased by friendly greetings from Inoka & Chris & email detailing local restaurants, facilities etc. Guest house well situated & despite room being at the front we were not disturbed by road noise and view of hills is lovely, bedroom and bathroom v clean, excellent toiletries and selection of teas etc. Breakfast to order, fresh and delicious!

Review 26：Very warm welcome, stunning room at the top of the house - small but with beautiful fittings and bathroom. Lots of extra touches - great hospitality tray, toiletries, wifi, flowers. Nothing too much trouble. Fantastic breakfast. Also free use of local soa facilities although we didn't know this until we arrived. Will definitely make use of these next time. Permit given so we could park outside. Easy walking distance to town centre. All in all it was like staying in a mini boutique hotel. Highly recommended.

The Sonata Guest House was a welcome interlude with wonderful rooms and a delicious breakfast.The hosts, a young couple, were very quick to give us good suggestions and directions to places for dinner and seemed to genuinely care about our vacation in Britain. A nice place to stay in Kendal, which is the gateway to the Lake District. Glad we booked it.

Review 31：Loved everything from the warm welcome to help with departure. This young couple have got everything just right with the running of this B&B. In conversation the proprietor said she had a lot of experience working in large hotels & this shows. Cannot recommend highly enough.

The luxurious full-length bathtub with aromatic bath salts was a standout feature and followed delightfully after the ample, delicious breakfast served (again) with gracious smiles. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Review 35：We stayed there in 2012 under different management & thought it good then. Since Chris & Inoka took over, the rooms feel a whole lot brighter. The service is five star & nothing is to much trouble. While there get yourselves over to the Oddfellows Arms for a friendly beer, great break!

Review 48：My room overlooked the road and could be a bit noisy with the window open, although my traveling companions had a wonderful room at the back with a great view and only birds in the morning as the source of noise. As with most B&Bs there was no air conditioning and the rooms were uncomfortably warm on a June night, especially my friends' room even though they were provided with a large fan.
