Reviews for The Fort Hotel

Review 1:Excellent all round. Staff super friendly and efficient. Definitely recommend this hotel. Already booked again for The Big Weekend in May 2016.. can't wait.

Review 2:There was nothing to dislike.

Review 3:The room was smart, clean and extremely comfortable. The breakfast room were new and stylish. The breakfast, though not fancy was hot and plentiful. And the service was very friendly. I especially liked that it was served from an early hour.

Review 4:Light fittings lousy - one above bed clanged metal on metal when people above us moved around, woke us. Bedside lights shine up so no good for reading. Fantastic bath but not enough hot water to fill it. Check in was at the bar, didn't feel welcomed.

Review 5:Italian restaurant food is amazing!!! Our room was spacious, desk, couch, huge bathroom.

Review 6:Doors banging in the hallway from 0600.

Review 7:The staff are very friendly and efficient. Meals are excellent and very generous portions. Rooms are immaculate and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will be returning very soon.

Review 8:Saturday night above a pub...not quite sure why we thought that would be a good idea! We were on the top floor twin room and you could hear the music and chatter outside well into the early hours. Also, plastic covers on the mattresses - horrific. Very expensive for the disrupted nights sleep.

Review 9:Nice modern bathroom in the twin room, really well done.

Review 10:We did not know there would be loud music playing until 2.00 a.m. We were unable to sleep until 3.00 by the time everyone had left the pub below us. We would never ever stay there again.

Review 11:Nice staff,comfy bed.

Review 12:No wifi in my room (my only way to communicate to the outside world)! They only have wifi in some rooms. It depends on how close your room is to the wifi signal. No parking available. I could hear the dj in the downstairs bar. Traffic always driving by. The staff was helpful though.

Review 13:The bar was great, full of locals with plenty of stories. John and the team were amazing at making us feel welcome. Scotch selection was also very good.

Review 14:Nothing everything was good, no complaints

Review 15:All staff were excellent very friendly & helpful if I had any questions about the area etc. Clean & comfortable in all areas. Bedroom good size with all required facilities I needed during my stay.

Review 16:We weren't told anything about the breakfast other than where it would be served. We were shown to a seat and had to ask for menus etc but the breakfast was good if not very well presented

Review 17:Friendly staff , great location, comfy beds

Review 18:Im sure the rooms in the main hotel are like the pictures but I was lead down the street to an annex that was more 80's in decor. Clean enough but felt like a £30 B&B than what I though I was paying for. No Wifi in this annex and no parking so left my car on the street.

Review 19:Location. Thats about it. The breakfast was also fine.

Review 20:Unfortunately the noise coming from the pub below until 2am and it was intrusively loud. No where else seemed loud, and the music in the pub was not. It must have been an unfortunately placed speaker, however it did result in a disrupted nights sleep until 2am. Not ideal when I was up the next day at 7am for graduation. I wrote to the hotel to let them know but so far havr not received a reply.

Review 21:It is a nice hotel, with helpful staff and nice rooms.

Review 22:noisy at night as nightclub has 2am licence. Breakfast items poor quality and service slow. Pricey to stay here.

Review 23:love the town of Broughty Ferry, Fort Hotel perfectly situated especially if you enjoy the night life! Staff couldn't have been more helpful.

Review 24:I would never stay here again - - I have traveled every 2 weeks for years and this is the worst booking mistake I ever made. The room was flooded with music till 2am; at 5 am constant door slamming. The next day was ruined. Horrible, horrible stay. I wouldn't send a dog to sleep here.

Review 25:The staff are very good; the room is immaculate; clean & comfortable; location for train is good and the parking worked out well.

Review 26:1. No wifi in room 2. The light in bathroom is broken 3. The toilet cannot flash 4. The cap are dirty

Review 27:1. The bar and restaurant is good. Staff are nice

Review 28:Nothing not to like.

Review 29:Comfortable and clean and the room was close to the bar and restaurant, hotel was central to shops and not far from the beach and castle museum and play park for children

Review 30:Bathroom was freezing after having the heating on all evening and night, a towel heater is not a radiator. No milk for coffees no bulbs in bedside lights,no wifi, trying hard but failing.

Review 31:Nice room needs some armchairs to fill the empty space in the warehouse size room

Review 32:I think it could be noisy at weekends with music in the bar but the hotel have rooms across the road also.

Review 33:Location great, modern, warm, lovely decor in the rooms.

Review 34:Food was poor breakfast was terrible poached eggs were cold and not poached and toast was cold. Management said were short staff in kitchen. While having dinner staff were moving furniture around you which made you feel uncomfortable and rushed.

Review 35:Room was nice and staff lovely

Review 36:There were no bulbs in the bedside lamps and we did request some but they never did arrive. The bed was really hard, only an issue as I have Fibromyalgia and it left me in tremendous pain the whole of the next day. Breakfast was cold we were told they only had one chef on yet the hotel seemed to be full.

Review 37:The room was immaculate, just recently refurbished. Very luxuriously fitted out, the bathroom was amazing. We were actually across the road from the main hotel so it was nice and quiet.

Review 38:-stain on one of the pillow coverings -wlan disconnected alot and was a bit slow in general.

Review 39:-bathroom and shower very clean. -customer service and housekeeping is friendly and sufficient. - good location in broughty ferry : shops bars and restaurants all close and easy to reach. -would recommend and book it again myself.

Review 40:No shampoo/conditioner no bottled water in room queen size bed but came with a tiny duvet? room was cold on arrival, but we were able to high radiator up

Review 41:Decor is lovely, bar and breakfast was great, room finished to a good standard.

Review 42:No radiator in bathroom:)

Review 43:The hotel is not in the center of Dundee (ap 4 miles away), but in beautiful place, nearby shops, pubs and restaurants (in my opinion Tapas Bar is the best restaurant in Dundee and it is only 100 meters away from hotel) . Great staff, good breakfasts, nice accomodation. Absolutly to reccomend

Review 44:Nothing to complain about. Only thing that would have suited me as I was on business, and the room had adequate space, would have been a small workspace.

Review 45:A superb hotel and would definitely stay again. The single room was a good size as was the en-suite.

Review 46:Some noise from the bar at night but not much of a bother as my partner and I are heavy sleepers :D

Review 47:When we arrived they showed us to our room in the business centre which was lovely! Nice and quiet. The shower door had come off it's rail so they moved us to another room in the main building which was equally as lovely! Room was nice and clean. Nice and modern bathroom. Staff were great and friendly. Food was delish! Walking distance from the river and beachside (beautiful for watching the sunset and rise). Also walking distance from main high street. Would definitely recommend!

Review 48:This was a hotel above a pub and as a consequence, people who were smokers and went outside the pub, did not respect this and it way very noisy. Also, other residents no respect either, next door to my room somebody slamming door and load music.

Review 49:Room was well decored out and clean, mattress on bed extremely hard so not very comfortable.

Review 50:Noise, the noise from refrigeration units outside window kept me awake every night, this is specific to the room I was in and not a problem with the rest of the hotel. Parking could be problematic but overall, a fair hotel for a fair price

Review 51:Central location Great food Comfy bed

Review 52:Bar down stairs is busy but seeing we were there at the weekend this was expected.

Review 53:Decor and room excellent along with breakfast and the staff were excellent and friendly. Definitely would stay at the Fort again if back in Broughty Ferry area.

Review 54:Dining may be a challenge after 9pm except pub food. Parking may be a problem although it's free. TV located above coat hangers so a little too high for remote sensor. Had to raise the arm above my head to change channels.

Review 55:I'd recommend this hotel only if your plan is not for city centre. It's not close enough to walk. But a nice quiet area. Great for access to golf courses north of Dundee since can avoid driving through the city. Service is great, friendly, and helpful, making you feel at ease immediately. Breakfast was good and service again friendly making the first meal of the day a pleasure. Room was newly renovated, bathroom was big, new, everything worked. Room access was via separate door so no need to walk through the pub every time if you don't want to.

Review 56:Smart room ,great bar and great location
