Reviews for Everglades Bed and Breakfast

Review 1:The hosts were very friendly and cheerful and gave lots of advice on what to do in the area, room is immaculate with a serene view of the garden and trees and sounds of birds and a stream of water.

Review 2:The owner was very helpful indeed, phoning beforehand to check that I had all the information I required, and getting up early to provide breakfast as I had an early train to catch

Review 3:The booking dot com site does not make clear to the visitor (but, strangely, does to the owners) whether it is the cabin or house location that is being booked: we would recommend a phone call to the owners when booking so that there can be no misunderstanding/confusion on arrival.

Review 4:A secluded, leafy, tranquil setting within easy walk of an interesting character town. Wonderfully hospitable welcome (We received a silver service tea on arrival) to spotless luxury accommodation with an excellent breakfast brought to your door. The room can either be within the recently built main house or in the garden quirky 'log cabin' (labeled on the web site as a double room with patio). We recommend this location for a comfortable stay made even more interesting in the garden 'log cabin' with a somewhat tight bedroom but with an expansive 'Downton Abbey Set' couch (no really!).

Review 5:A little tricky to find but was worth it!

Review 6:Friendly hosts. Private access to the room. Space. Quality of fittings. Comfort of bed. Independent heating control. Fresh fruit. A pleasure not to have teeny plastic pots of long-life milk.

Review 7:Co-host was not introduced during the stay.

Review 8:Peaceful and relaxing in a pleasant environment. An excellent base for the reason I was in the area - exploring family origins and meeting distant relatives.

Review 9:Kitchenette facilities very basic. Lighting in the bedroom was very bright and could not be dimmed.

Review 10:Friendly, comfortable, tasteful, Room Service Good. Quality Breakfast with a good view. Good proximity to the town centre

Review 11:We didn't like leaving!

Review 12:We really liked the breakfast hamper and the completely independent access. The room was very comfortable and spacious and the hosts were exceptional.

Review 13:There were two connecting doors to the main house where you could hear the family so didnt feel that private. Will request cabin in garden next time.

Review 14:Lovely owners very friendly and helpful. Location was perfect.Very nice breakfast delivered to your room. Nice big room with first class bathroom. Decor was lovely and very tasteful

Review 15:Jo and Vern were fantastic hosts, I was a little nervous about being on my own but they made me feel so welcome and I felt very at home. The room and facilities were excellent as was the delicious breakfast hamper. I will definitely be visiting again!

Review 16:Nothing to dislike.

Review 17:*friendly welcome *quiet location. *separate entrance to room. *breakfast hamper in room *"proper" hair dryer *lovely bathroom

Review 18:The bed and bedding (polyester quilts and pillows).....but this is such a personal thing and no-ones bed and bedding is like your own!

Review 19:The hosts - they are so lovely. The location is quiet and they have beautiful gardens. The hosts were very flexible about the time of breakfast which was perfect for me as each day was different.

Review 20:Nothing to dislike at all

Review 21:We really enjoyed our stay at Verne and Jo's B&B. We had exceptional service. Nothing too much trouble and they were both such friendly and lovely people. Would definitely stay there again if we are ever in this location. Such a relaxing place to stay too. Could not fault our stay in any way

Review 22:The rooms in the house are beautiful and spacious; the cabin in the garden is nicely done but not for us. It is relatively small and the bed is in a small enclosure. Wifi was a bit on-and-off, but the owner said he was having a new system installed.

Review 23:Location is fantastic, very quiet and with a beautiful garden. The owners are very welcoming and do everything they can to make you feel comfartable. They also help with local tips and advice. The breakfast is served in the room and very good, with a.o fresh fruit. .

Review 24:Accommodation we stayed in was not really a log cabin, more a large shed. Space was at a premium, access to bed was quite challenging. WIFI was not functioning/accessible. Slightly overpriced for a B&B with limited space/amenities.

Review 25:Hosts were really friendly and did everything to make our stay enjoyable. Accommodation very comfortable and extremely well presented. Superb breakfast served in your room. Area is quiet & peaceful with Oswestry town centre only 10 mins walk away.

Review 26:location: up a quiet road in an already very quiet residential area, minutes walk from town centre Furnished tastefully to a very high standard, and a massive en-suite with plenty storage. We stayed in the double room which has french doors opening directly to the garden. Little things like the mini fridge, cold fresh milk for tea/coffee (instead of the standard UHT you get in most B&Bs), box of chocolate, slippers etc made it a bit more special. Extra items such as beer, wine or cheese sandwiches are charged at very reasonable rate. Breakfast was excellent even if it's continental not full English.

Review 27:I have never stayed in a hotel or B and B that thought of everything a traveller might need or want. As for the breakfast well, it was delightful arriving in a hamper every morning as room service. Excellent.

Review 28:From the second you arrive you are made to feel extremely welcome. The room was lovely, spacious and spotlessly clean. Coffee and cake was made us on arrival and areas of interest were explained to help us with places to go especially bars and restaurants which was perfect for our visit. The rooms were lovely and warm and breakfast the following morning was lovely too. We highly recommend this B&B to anyone visiting the area so thank you for a lovely break!

Review 29:nothing

Review 30:The owners really know how to accommodate guest's. If guest's prefer to have breakfast in their own room's they can - courtesy of a breakfast hamper.......perfect.

Review 31:Nothing

Review 32:- breakfast hamper - this was lovely and contained everything from beautiful scrambled egg to home made granola plus fresh brewed coffee. - room and bathroom - clean, spacious and well equipped - owners - helpful (even offered a lift to the restaurant), knowledgeable (recommended a great restaurant) good communicators (kept in touch before our stay) - felt like you were staying with a family

Review 33:The staff were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Great breakfast delivered to the room at the time of your choice. Welcome tea and coffee on arrival very nice.

Review 34:Imagine yourself surrounded by the beauty of nature, squirrels running around and very nice gardens. The rest is even better: Joe & Vern will look after you as you are family. We felt so looked after in the 3 days we were over. Rooms are at the highest standards, breakfast is a real treat, all fresh produce and superbly arranged. We will be back. Stefano & Family

Review 35:We were warmly greeted by Jo, Vern, Hattie and Isaac which set the tone for an extremely comfortable and pleasant stay in part of their beautiful home. Nothing was too much trouble which ensured a very relaxed and enjoyable visit.

Review 36:Not much really.

Review 37:The friendliness of the hosts was so welcoming and they made you feel at home straight away...even when turning up 3 hours early! Lovely room, excellent breakfast and good location for town centre.

Review 38:Beautiful decor and spacious bedroom New spacious bathroom Welcoming hosts Very good hamper breakfast Delightful garden access to room Pleasant walk into town

Review 39:I wanted to stay in the hotel where we were holding a reunion but they were full ,so checked online found Everglades .Even thought it was only a 6 -7 minute walk to the hotel they offered to take us down in their car which was kind ,nothing was to much bother.

Review 40:Nothing to report.

Review 41:This was our first stay at Everglades and we will definitely be back. The owners Jo and Vern gave us a very warm welcome on our arrival. We stayed in the ground floor room which was huge and had a lovely view of the garden. The breakfast was served in our room and was plentiful. The location was very peaceful and not far from the town centre. Thankyou again to Jo and Vern for making our stay a pleasant one. John and Kim.

Review 42:This has not been noticed.

Review 43:All loved it! Thank you so much for your hospitality and sincere welcome. A warm welcome, got the feeling that we were with relatives ...

Review 44:We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Everglades B&B. The owners made us feel very welcome and cared for. We were given a beautiful breakfast. Our room was very comfortable and private. We highly recommend this B&B and hope to return one day!

Review 45:It was quite cold in the room, stayed on the August Bank Holiday weekend, and it was chilly outside at night. The heating in the room was not on. We were returning very late at night, so didn't tell the owners.

Review 46:Location, value for money, cleanliness, hospitality, breakfast in bed, the largest bathroom I ever seen in B&B, garden view

Review 47:Lovely room, nice quiet location, very friendly, helpful owners. They even gave me a lift to an event at the other end of Oswestry rather than having to pay for a taxi!

Review 48:Very friendly and nothing was too much. My daughter loved her little tea party with Hatty. Room with en suite very clean and modern. The local park is great for kids and Chester Zoo within 30 mins. Would go back again.

Review 49:The location was perfect, just on the edge of the centre of town, but so secluded, you would never have known. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, with an assortment of bathroom toiletries, hairdryer, gorgeous view. We got given an extra blow up bed as there were 3 of us, at no extra cost. The breakfast, delivered in a hamper, was delicious: Fresh fruits, yoghurts, toast, croissant, rolls, jam, butter, honey, nutella, marmalade, cereal, coffee, orange juice, muesli, something for everyone. There is a huge telly, though we didn't use it and a booster box in the room for 24 hours free wifi. When we arrived Jo brought up freshly brewed coffee, even though there is a kettle with coffee/tea in the room!!! Fabulous service, excellent value for money and a delightful setting. Loads of plugs and light and there is a bath and a shower in the bathroom. We had the upstairs room, not the downstairs mobility access room and Jo, the only thing I would say is that perhaps you could make that clearer on your website. All in all, Fantastic xxx

Review 50:I went with my teenage granddaughter for a few nights, we were made so welcome by jo and vern, they couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was superb, brought to the room in a hamper (how good is that). The room was so big it was stunning, bed, shower, a huge bath everything you need. Location was brilliant, will definitely be going back again with my husband. Hatty and Isaac there two children were adorable. Thankyou both for a lovely break xx

Review 51:We were very friendly welcomed by Vern who offered us coffee upon our arrival. Very quiet setting in walking distance to restaurants and shops. Private parking space. Nice room with large bathroom. Everything is new and well looked after. Johanna was very helpful in looking for an accommodation for the next night, because they were booked.

Review 52:The accommodation was lovely. The owners very friendly and welcoming and the continental breakfast was very nice and was a nice touch being brought to your room in a picnic basket. very laid back and comfortable. I would definitely come back and would recommend it to other visitors. it is also close to the town centre

Review 53:The friendliness and hospitality were excellent. We enjoyed eating breakfast out on the terrace. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious and scrupulously clean. We will return.

Review 54:The directions are slightly misleading although this was offset by Vern kindly coming to meet us after a phone call.

Review 55:The warm welcome and hospitality extended to us.

Review 56:Just the best !! everything from the warm and friendly family greeting ( thanks Hattie you are a sweetheart) to the sumptuous room facilities and the beautifully presented breakfast were perfect. You really couldn't want for more and the host couldn't have been more delightful and accommodating. We left feeling totally relaxed and pampered. I would encourage anyone visiting this area, or indeed looking to break up a journey to stop by, you will not leave disappointed, you may even decide to not leave at all.

Review 57:My husband wanted to watch world cup football & the TV, when pulled out, did get in the way of accessing the left side of the bed. I should have put him on that side!
