Reviews for The Black Bull Inn

Review 1:It would have been nice if the pub did evening meals but restaurants are near by.

Review 2:Basic room, clean and tidy serviced each day. Berakfast was very good all local produce cooked by the very friendly and helpful landlady. A very good B&B I would recomend.

Review 3:As there were only 3 rooms, we had the whole place to ourselves to come and go as we pleased. Rooms were clean and modern. We were met by the owner who was very friendly and welcoming. We even got to choose our own breakfast time, which was great as we had been to a Wedding the night before and needed a long lie!! Breakfast was excellent with a great selection of fresh berries, yoghurts, croissants, as well as Full Scottish or Smoked Salmon!!! We had a great time.

Review 4:I liked the fact I had single occupancy of a twin room which gives you some space. Room and bathroom very fresh and well kitted out. The quadrant shower cubicle was spacious with room to turn round ! It has a very lively and friendly bar with several `real` ales which were sampled ! Cannot comment on the WiFi quality as I used it at the nearby Wetherspoons. Breakfast menu was quite extensive for a small place. All in all a most pleasant stay at very competitive price. Will use again on next trip to Inverurie.

Review 5:I really cant think of anything to down vote it.

Review 6:The welcome, the facilities, the friendliness of the staff, and of course the breakfast. The owner on the first morning did not have any Earl Grey tea, she went out and got some for the second day, a lovely touch. The fact that the rooms were directly above the Inn was a bonus.

Review 7:Two night stay. Place is spotless and has everything needed for a comfortable stay. Friendly staff. Great breakfasts with a choice. Will definitely be back.

Review 8:The noise from the pub downstairs; the rooms are directly above it. I imagine if you say Sunday-Thursday there are probably no issues. But we stayed on a Friday night and the music was going on until late (def after 12:30) so it was a struggle to get to sleep.

Review 9:Fantastic breakfast. Friendly host. Free parking.

Review 10:None at All excellent Experience Only

Review 11:Excellent room and hot water also very friendly people the owners and the regulars customers in the bar the food was excellent the breakfasts full and lots of food a great selection of beers at the bar and of course Paisley the furry one their dog the main attraction I also met someone with whom I worked offshore recently on a vessel in the North Sea so spoke to him at the bar So I like everything here the food the room the beer and All the people too including the Owners and of course the dog cannot forget him excellent service and company all round would highly Recommend this place to others I stayed for 4 nights whilst attending a course in Kintore

Review 12:bar downstairs didn't do food of any sort. on the night I was there Tuesday bar was busy there appeared to be 2 darts matches on. unable to charge drinks to room, and was initally told couldn't take drink to room , this was later corrected. At £80 I think the price is a little hire even for the Aberdeen area.

Review 13:location close enough for Aberdeen walking distance into inverurie. free to park room clean and warm all the basics are there. breakfast was very good wi fi very good.

Review 14:Perhaps a tad overpriced

Review 15:Friendly welcome and excellent breakfast service in the morning. Young guy making breakfast nipped out to the shops to get extra fesh milk for me

Review 16:Nothing.

Review 17:We stayed here for one night when visiting relatives. It is a very friendly place, our room was clean and comfy and we had a lovely Scottish breakfast. The bar stocks real ales too. We will definitely stay here again.

Review 18:Bar could sometimes be a bit noisy downstairs, but if you're staying above a pub that's to be expected. Rooms face onto the road also so there's some traffic noise.

Review 19:Staff were friendly & helpful. I didn't sample the full breakfast as I had to leave prior to 7am for the commute to Dyce. Room was comfortable & clean. Good beers in the pub ;)

Review 20:Had booked for 2 people but their booking was for 1, which meant that we were dearer than we had expected.

Review 21:Room was clean and comfortable with all we needed for our stay. Breakfast was served by a friendly member of staff. We could not fault the room or the staff.

Review 22:Bathroom mats minging, needs replacing. Bedroom Carpet needs replacing. Bedroom décor - very dull, wouldn,t say it was a bright welcoming room. Breakfast room awful, very tired, needs updating, dog hair and dog in an eating area ugh! For £103 per night would expect much better, Would never stay there again.

Review 23:Friendly welcome, excellent bar and bar staff. Clean bedlinen, very good shower, good breakfast.

Review 24:Bed was uncomfortable and pillows not very good. However, this did not detract from our overall experience.

Review 25:The rooms were excellent and spotlessly clean. In room facilities included television, bathroom and tea/coffee making facilities. Cooked breakfast was excellent. Although we could hear some noise from the bar, it was in no way intrusive. Proprieters very friendly and nice. Would definitely use again if in area.

Review 26:Room above the front entrance can get a wee bit noisy/lively if the window is open, but it was by no means unbearable.

Review 27:Staff very welcoming on arrival, room was well laid out, clean and a pleasure to stay in.

Review 28:It initially seemed a little pricey, although the check in/out times were much more lenient than advertised - that and the service we received made up for it!

Review 29:The room was comfortable, the staff were very friendly and gave welcoming and personal service. the breakfast was great, the breakfast room was bright, homely and cheerful with a great choice of hot and cold food :) we were also able to check in early, and check out late which allowed us to get a good nights sleep and enjoy our breakfast with no pressure to leave.

Review 30:Shame the pub downstairs didn't do food or gave residents access to a microwave.

Review 31:Loved how the staff made you feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. Excellent variety of breakfast options & the availability to change your eating times. It was my birthday whilst there so I was left a gift in my room on the actual day.

Review 32:Just be aware that it is not VAT registered and as I was on company business and needed a VAT receipt to claim back my expenses it was a bit more difficult

Review 33:The room was clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Review 34:The hill we had to walk up getting old but didn't stop us

Review 35:Can only say lovely rooms great breakfast and friendly staff not forgetting the helping stay was 10 out of10

Review 36:Nothing to complain about.

Review 37:Lovely welcome, especially from Paisley! Very comfortable rooms and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was lovely, set you up for the day. Only stayed for one night , wish it had been longer

Review 38:Did not realise it did not open until 5pm. Did not spoil or detract from the visit.

Review 39:Bedrooms were all beautiful...colour-coordinated, comfy & spotlessly clean. Showers roomy, with essentials incase you forgot any. Breakfast just amazing! Cooked for you immediately, so everything was fresh. Lots of choice. Highly recommended.

Review 40:Noise from downstairs (Saturday night) I brought ear plugs with me so it didn't really affect me. Also the band sounded pretty decent!

Review 41:Good location, Great price Lovely staff and breakfast

Review 42:I liked the simplicity of this family run Inn, it's nice to relax in your room and have a cup of tea/coffee after a long journey or if you fancied a pint/ glass of wine you could have popped downstairs. The breakfast was great and the landlady and her son were friendly and welcoming.

Review 43:Very poor Wi-Fi connection in room 3, I had to sit by the door to get emails etc.

Review 44:Good size room and comfortable bed. Very good breakfast, although no evening meals the town centre is a five minute stroll away.

Review 45:The music from below, but that is probably an age thing. It stopped on time though so no problem. Sleep came quickly afterwards.

Review 46:The standard of rooms and the friendliness of the staff, oh and the dog.

Review 47:The staff all worked as hard as they could to make our stay an enjoyable one, and the rooms were exceptionally clean and well kept. Breakfasts were outstanding.

Review 48:Can't think of anything negative about it.

Review 49:Clean room with modern bathroom and a big shower, friendly staff, a good breakfast and all at a reasonable price!

Review 50:It would have been nice to have had the option of an evening meal after travelling a long distance but can see why this would not be possible.

Review 51:The lady, Julie, gave us the most wonderful service and breakfast and even offered to leave out a 'help yourself' breakfast if we wanted to have breakfast later! Would definitely recommend The Black Bull Inn in Inverurie.

Review 52:We had no indication prior to booking that Saturday night's are regular music nights. The band was extraordinary loud which sounded throughout the upstaires rooms. Watching telly was impossible. Music stopped at ten past midnight. Guests in next room left their telly on all night which was easily heard. Sleep was almost impossible.

Review 53:Real ale at the bar. Excellent selection of breakfast starters. Breakfast cooked fresh. Friendly landlady.
