Reviews for Oldlands Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast
Review 1:Dated decor and dusty furnishings. Shower was small and the dogs were protective over thier puppies which meant access to communal parts were difficult. Tv kept losing signal too.
Review 2:Comfy bed and nice staff and breakfast
Review 3:Minor inconveniences only. Heating in the room was inadequate - the radiator is behind heavy drapes when the curtains are drawn at night. The wardrobe had no hangers.
Review 4:Good sized room and large comfortable bed. A lovely old-fashioned type of farmhouse B&B. Excellent breakfast.
Review 5:Wifi signal poor in the bedroom, could do with investing in signal boosters.
Review 6:Great place to stay for a reasonable price. A family run B&B with faultless hospitality. Great breakfast. Surprisingly quiet being so close to Gatwick Airport
Review 7:No big issues. Some sound transfer between rooms.
Review 8:Great value for money especially for a one night stopover. Owners happy to take our car for the week we were away - cheap rate. Short taxi ride from Gatwick terminals. Interesting old place. Lovely breakfast in the old farmhouse.
Review 9:Nothing to complain over
Review 10:Beautiful old farmhouse setting. Family owners are very welcoming. Close to Crawley town centre and almost within walking distance of Gatwick airport.
Review 11:Muddy car park. Could do with a layer of hardcore or pea shingle to prevent muddy feet inside the building and car.
Review 12:Allocated a family room. Breakfasts are excellent. Convenient for Gatwick Airport.
Review 13:Hard to find in the night - drive in lane not illuminated at all, place needs some street shields.
Review 14:Friendliness of the owner, warm room, you can actually sleep though airport is very near
Review 15:The walls in the one bedroom are very thin and I could listen in to the conversation next door. Not very exciting unfortunately!
Review 16:Everything. Very comfortable and friendly and a very nice breakfast. Staff are very nice and someone waited up very late for me because I was stuck on the motorway for hours. My second time of staying and I will definitely stay again.
Review 17:Room was a tad chilly. Cold water tap didn't work in bathroom.
Review 18:I was greeted as soon as I got to entrance of b & b. Very friendly owners son who was pleased to help. Lovely breakfast and beautiful dining room to eat in.
Review 19:Our room was cold although we did eventually find an electric fire. The bed was very uncomfortable. We suggest a new mattress is required.
Review 20:The helpfulness and friendliness of all staff we met. The breakfast menu was more than adequate. The room was spacious.
Review 21:Stayed 1 night together with my elderly mother. Davina was pleasant and welcoming, she brought a pot of coffee to our room. The bedroom was ok, the dining table is beautifully presented, and the breakfast, one of the best I've had in a hotel - plenty of everything, perfectly cooked served. They also have a gorgeous mastiff who is very friendly.
Review 22:The room needed a good clean, very dusty and lots of cobwebs. The building is very old and has charm but no excuse for the fact the rooms are tired and dirty. The towels and bedding were clean thankfully. Breakfast cereal was out of date 4 months ago too!
Review 23:Good location and owners very friendly. Ideally placed to get to Gatwick, pub across the road too is handy for a beer and dinner.
Review 24:The turn from the road was difficult to find, I think a light with a big sign would be very helpful to finding this in the darker hours. But it was nice that a map was sent to my email together with the booking confirmation, it helped a lot.
Review 25:We arrived very late and no one was around, but the hosts had left good signs up so it was easy to find the room etc. The location was very close to Gatwick airport, and the room was pretty.
Review 26:Very nice welcome. Breakfast was plentiful and very tasty. Only 5 minutes from airport. Good extra information given by the owner. Lovely 4 poster bed. Everything was great
Review 27:Bed a little too hard for me.
Review 28:Made extremely welcome and nothing too much for Davina, happily booked taxis for me and, breakfast well absolutely perfect nice and hot and the scrambled eggs, perfection.
Review 29:WiFi a bit slow - but useable
Review 30:Leafy location, super staff, relaxed home-from-home atmosphere, nice bed, excellent individually prepared breakfast, brilliant for dogs
Review 31:Small and odd shaped rooms. External bathroom for one of the rooms. Bed base wider than the mattress.
Review 32:Friendly welcome, convenient location, interesting building
Review 33:Our only criticism was that the property felt in need of overall refurbishment. It wasn't that things were missing or didn't work, just that they were well used and reaching the end of their usefulness. Having said that, it was good value for money.
Review 34:The location for Gatwick was ideal. The owners were very friendly and helpful, supplying a plentiful breakfast on a tray for an early departure. A very peaceful location considering how close Gatwick is and it was possible to leave our car for a week which was most useful.
Review 35:Pretty upset wife and kids.definitely the most unclean place we've stayed in!!!!!!!!
Review 36:Breakfast was the only good thing.the owners were very nice people but it does not change the fact that the rooms need a deep clean.filthy carpets and curtains.it ruined our night...
Review 37:I was met by Devina at the door as soon as my taxi pulled up. I was shown to my comfy room and within 10 minutes of arriving Devina had bought me a pot of fresh coffee, most welcome after my journey.
Review 38:Wi-Fi was a little weak but worked perfectly fine for browsing and emailing. These days we can create 'mobile hotspots' using our phones or use a broadband dongle (which I do everywhere I go)
Review 39:Perfect location, quiet, comfortable, lovely hosts. Great sized double room and filling breakfast. Very clean + tidy.
Review 40:The hostess Davina was adorable and made us feel incredibly welcome. She recommended a fantastic place for dinner, booked us a taxi and waved us goodbye. I will definitely stay there again. It feels like coming home.
Review 41:Room was a bit cold and heating didn't seem to come on in the morning. Also wifi was sporadic. I didn't raise either of these and in sure the heating at least would've been resolved if I had.
Review 42:Room size, ease of check in/ check out, proximity to airport
Review 43:I liked it all! :)
Review 44:So easy to get to,so close to airport but a beautiful old farmhouse with amazing furniture! Bed was so comfy and Breakfast was fantastic! Would highly recommend! :)
Review 45:Since I warned the property that I had a late checkin, they sent me a very detailed instructions email with everything I could need: how to reach the property, numbers of night cabs, how to enter (they left me signs and directions to my room), etc. Since I had also an early checkout, they left me a very generous breakfast directly in the room, with many things to eat and drink. The comfort was maximum. The photos are true and depicts exactly what you get. Thanks!!
Review 46:Could do with a good clean in the hard to reach places, ie, behind the bed. Noticed when I plugged phone charger in. :-( Was also a bit chilly in the morning.
Review 47:Location, parking, breakfast, and pub at the end of the road!
Review 48:open gardens, quite secluded area, close proximity to the pub with reasonable food and drink! Breakfast is fantastic value for money! Going back in June/July!
Review 49:Really could do with a larger sign at end of drive!
Review 50:I was made to feel very welcome. This propery is quintessentially British B&B. Very handy for airport. Taxi £8. Davina was fabulous, great hostess. Breakfast the best I have had for a long time, such a change from the chain hotels. Good quality food, very fresh. I will certainly return with pleasure. Thanks Davina, for making my stay so comfortable, in your wonderful period property.
Review 51:It was difficult to find as the road I needed from the airport was closed off...
Review 52:Davina was very welcoming and helpful, and brought a pot of tea to my room on arrival. I could not get the radiator in my room to turn on but she got the handyman to fix it very promptly, making my room very cosy. The food at breakfast was 5 star. There are 3 pubs withing a mile for lunch and evening meals, the nearest at the end of the drive.
Review 53:I was welcomed with a fresh pot of tea. The room was charming old England style but the bathroom was modern and squeaky clean. Very quiet despite being so close to Gatwick. I walked to the airport the next day after a superb full English breakfast. Nobody leave this place hungry. Brilliant and great value.
Review 54:That we could only stay for 1 night !
Review 55:Everything , Davina, Roxy the doggy, the 'baby grand piano' in the dining room, family photographs, covering most walls & surfaces, the grand children's toys in the kitchen ......., it's a quirky place, it's a home , I loved it , I have already sent notes to friends to go & stay. To not do so, deprives you of an amazing , unforgettable stay .
Review 56:Patchy tv reception and wi-fi. Bed slightly firm.
Review 57:Room size, style, pub at bottom of drive, surprisingly quiet as next to Airport. Bottled water as well as usual hot drinks.
Review 58:Not much, the top end the route map could include reference to the petrol station but otherwise aok.
Review 59:Warm welcome, excellent breakfast in a stunning listed building. I cant believe they might demolish it to extend a runway!
Review 60:Nothing
Review 61:Everything, Davina is a charming host, beautiful old farmhouse, great breakfast, clean and perfect if you need accommodation near Gatwick airport
Review 62:nothing, everything was perfect
Review 63:this is one of the best b and b's i have ever stayed in, a lovely pot of freshly made tea on arrival, davina is the perfect host, my room was super comfortable, plenty of room, perfect shower, i had to leave early in the morning so missed out on the full english, but the breakfast delivered to my room the night before was great, juice, cereals, pastries. the tea making facilities were ideal, plenty of everything. location was ideal for gatwick airport, but not to close, so very little noise even though the planes were not very far away, great parking. oldlands farm is the perfect spot for a stop over or for a longer holiday, excellent value for money and devina is lovely, nothing was too much trouble. would deff recommend to all of my friends.
Review 64:No shuttle bus as the B&B only has 4 rooms.
Review 65:Cosy, very old farmhouse with oodles of ornaments and antique dolls. Very charming with a nice atmosphere. The traditional breakfast was excellent. Davina was a great help. She also called a taxi for me. I enjoyed my time spent sitting in the garden and stroking the family dog.
Review 66:Access to and from the driveway. Maybe some advice on entry would be good. Always exit left and go over the bridge and turn on the green. Safer.
Review 67:Rocky the dog. Breakfast was great. Davina was lovely. Bed and ensuite was great. Able to work in relaxed location Pub across the road Taxi knew the B&B Location
Review 68:Nothing, it was a wonderful experience.
Review 69:Davina was very friendly and went out of her way to be accommodating and helpful. The farmhouse is amazing and tastefully decorated. Everything was a pleasure and all four of us are keen to go back again. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Breakfast was divine. Roxy the dog is gorgeous.

Review 72:Nothing!
Review 73:Comfortable room, very pleasant and helpful owner, excellent breakfast. We felt as though we were staying in the countryside and yet we were only minutes from Gatwick airport.
Review 74:The house is very clean, comfortable and cuddly. The location is wonderful, just ten minutes from the airport but faraway from the noise and surrounded by the green. What I loved the most was with how much love, passion and kindness, Mrs. Davina treats her customers, making them feeling to be at home. She's one of the best owner I have ever met.
Review 75:Shabby dated furnishings, stained counterpane and carpets, not very clean throughout - at breakfast table I swopped to get cleanest plate, bowl and cutlery from nearest table settings.
