Reviews for Mallory Court Hotel
Review 1:a fantastic hotel- friendly ,efficient staff, nothing too much trouble. Delicious food expertly served. Décor superb, room beautifully appointed with everything you could possibly need. The attention to detail was outstanding. The hotel grounds are beautiful and well kept. An absolutely wonderful experience in every respect. We could not have asked for better. We have stayed in a lot of excellent hotels up and down the country but this exceeded all of them.
Review 2:The room that we were given "The Charlston" I think, the first door on the left as you walk up the stairs is to be avoided! Located above the front door, you could hear it slam every time it opened and closed. I felt we were given the poorest room in the hotel with only a shower no bath. I was looking forward to a soak. The room was cramped. Given the price I was expecting a great deal more and left feeling the place was over rated and that we had been over charged. There was a wedding going on and as a consequence upon check-in we were told the restaurant was full and so was The Brasserie. This was disappointing as residents we would have expected a table to be available in either of the eateries instead we drove to the local pub, The Leopard, which offered good pub grub but not quite the romantic ambience we were hoping for.
Review 3:Excellent breakfast. My husband enjoyed the Full English and I really enjoyed my kipper both were beautifully and efficiently served. A jar of local honey was offered along with the usual pots of jam and marmalade. There were some really original touches for example, the fruit salads were served in jam jars. The yogurt at breakfast also looked unusual but as I am dairy free there wasn't a soya alternative. The décor and log fires made you feel at home. The toiletries were good quality. There was a good selection of tea available in the room and healthy snick-snacks to enjoy, tastefully served in small jars.
Review 4:Our room was small in the annexe and there was a party going on in the rooms underneath so was noisy. Disappointing ok for one night but no longer
Review 5:Main house and grounds were beautiful
Review 6:The hotel needs a lot of money spent on the furnishings, our bedroom was terrible, torn curtains and all very drab. Not what we expected! Our dinner was a disappointment.
Review 7:The staff were helpful and quite good.
Review 8:If you do not drive, you have no other choice but call a cab.
Review 9:It's a very beautiful and comfortable country side hotel to be in. The staff were absolutely supportive and ultra friendly making you feel home. It was very clear that all worked as a team and all new whet to to do to deliver a great service.
Review 10:Probably the best hotel I have stayed in. We were upgraded to a suite with fabulous views over the famous herb garden. Room facilities were excellent. Only wish we could have stayed longer to take advantage of the little sun terrace that was attached to our room. Would definitely recommend.
Review 11:Formal gardens were a bit scruffy and overgrown. Sunday breakfast was a disaster as we had been assured at check-in that a continental breakfast would be available from 7am and clearly nobody had told the staff...as we were in a hurry this took the edge off an otherwise wonderful stay.
Review 12:Fantastic building and lovely room in the main house. Brasserie excellent.
Review 13:Very quiet almost sepulchral dining room. Noise from trees banging on the window during the night.
Review 14:Large modern room, comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast. Beautiful setting.
Review 15:The house had such a nice feel & the grounds are so pretty. We were there for our Son's wedding & everything went wonderfully well & the food was superb. Great job done!!
Review 16:The friendly professionalism of the staff, the superb evening meal, the attention the detail of the facilities in the bedroom (eg bringingfresh cups and more teabags, unasked, like good fairies, while we were at dinner!)
Review 17:Breakfast was very disappointing, very surprised in com parade to how good everything else was
Review 18:Hotel and room were absolutly stunning, staff were fantastic
Review 19:Room allocated was right next to a busy road and after a late night found we were woken at 6:30 on a Sunday morning by traffic noise
Review 20:Great breakfast and friendly staff.
Review 21:The starter of mackerel was a little bit mismatched with the tapenade and the Heritage tomatoes a little bit bland The waitress at dinner was a little brusque
Review 22:The staff were so professional and amenable The fresh fruit platter at breakfast was a work of art and included so many exotic fruits, not just 'the usual' Everywhere was so comfortable and luxurious and easy on the eye We loved the art deco theming and all the added extras in the room (plus the upgrade)
Review 23:Dawn chorus...woken by the birds at 4:30!
Review 24:I love an English country house hotel when done well...Mallory Court fits the bill. Stayed in Charlecote in the main house. Ate in the Brasserie. Food was fine, environment would probably be noisy if there were more diners than when I ate.
Review 25:staff were running aroundlike headless chickens at breakfast, missed two items off my breakfast and we didnt get toast until after we had finished.
Review 26:the grounds were beautiful
Review 27:Old property so walls thin and plumbing loud!
Review 28:Staff absolutely utterly outstanding. Gardens blissful. Atmosphere comfortable and homely despite the grandeur of the house and grounds.
Review 29:The lack of drawer space in the bedroom. The bed was not King Size. The bathroom needed some cleaning and updating.
Review 30:we enjoyed the gardens and the overall feel to the hotel. The staff were all very friendly and helpful
Review 31:From the moment of arrival, I was enveloped in sheer luxury. Wonderful caring staff and nothing is too much trouble. I was upgraded to the beautiful Upton and a lovely tray of tea and scones arrived. Fantastic!
Review 32:I think we were probably given the smallest room ( room 11) in the hotel in the annexe. We weren't made aware that we would be in there (The Knights Suite) until after the booking was confirmed. We were very disappointed as it was no better than a room in a Travelodge - not the special experience we had in mind for our anniversary. We had naturally assumed it would be a spacious well decorated room as in the hotel website photos.
Review 33:The Brasserie was quite nice and the food although very small portions was nicely presented.
Review 34:The staff were welcoming and friendly from the moment we walked through the door. Our room was second to none. The food was delicious and staff were extremely knowledgeable about all produce, from meat, vegetables and dairy products to the fantastic wines on offer at the hotel.
Review 35:Difficult to find anything that we did not like. But being very picky, the bathroom floor was slippery when wet and the knifes at breakfastcould be a bit sharper. As I said, you need to be very picky to find antfaults at all.
Review 36:Very efficient from booking to departure. Staff were very welcoming andprofessional. The hotel appears to be older than it's 99 yearshaving been created to appear as an Elizabethan property. The room wasalmosta suite and very comfortble with great facilities.
Review 37:The Brasserie was too noisy as large party in.
Review 38:Excellent service and assistance. I have a disability and they ensured the room was suitable - fantastic.
Review 39:We were welcomed very warmly and made to feel at home. The food and wines were excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would have no problem in recommending this hotel.
Review 40:Two observations: 1. Would have very much preferred the option to use a quality duvet, in keeping with the luxurious room, rather than sheets/blankets. 2. Would have anticipated tea/coffee making facilities, in all rooms, as standard for this quality of hotel.
Review 41:Thoroughly excellent two night stay, for a family celebration. The hotel personnel could not have been more professional, polite, friendly and super, super helpful; an absolute credit to the business. Truly lovely accommodation and very pretty outlook/hotel grounds, even in winter! Overall a fabulous stay and would highly recommend.
Review 42:Had to climb into bath for shower no handholds needed unsteady on my feet had to request tea making facility to be sent to our room. arrived on large tray that took up large area of dressing table Expensive room for the size
Review 43:Dining room
Review 44:The rain, we didn't manage to explore the grounds!!!
Review 45:Beautiful hotel, very cosy with log fires burning, excellent, attentive staff. Glad we had a room in the main hotel, it added to the atmosphere
Review 46:My stay was too short!
Review 47:All the staff in every department were extremely pleasant and helpful. The hotel building and grounds are in themselves fantastic. We look forward to a return visit in the Spring.
Review 48:Nothing
Review 49:Had an amazing stay all aided by the most friendly efficient well coordinated staff. The hotel had all the luxuries you would expect and more. My children loved their white fluffy robes!
Review 50:The price it was expensive the foods and drink although nicely presented were rather overpriced.
Review 51:welcomed by staff who were very efficient. Lovely grounds and nice room. Extra touches were lovely nibbles in the room and fruit. Also given a water and fruit and some sweets for our onward journey.
Review 52:Boring sliced white/brown toast for breakfast even though they make their own bread.
Review 53:Comfortable bed and pillows Nice gardens Good food Good wine Excellent staff
Review 54:Room in annexe close to a fairly noisy road. Not constant traffic, but irritating. The main building would be a lot quieter. Bathroom tiny and uncomfortable/awkward to get into and close door.
Review 55:Restaurant quality was very good. Large wedding party in at the same time so the dining room was split with a room divider, you wouldn't have known they were there. Staff and Service were excellent. Lovely gardens and main building.
Review 56:Noise from the Knight's Suite due to function, merely enquired as to what time it would end due to having a baby with us and within minutes were provided with a room in the house.
Review 57:Fantastic staff who could not do more to help us Beautiful surroundings Delicious breakfast selection Option of contemporary or period rooms Lots of car parking A short drive to Leamington centre
Review 58:We arrived on Sunday afternoon as a special treat for my partner who had been confined to home with a broken foot for 6 weeks. Unfortunately due to a wedding party taking over the lounge, there was nowhere for us to relax other than the garden room with cane furniture. Nobody's fault- just not the most comfortable for us.
Review 59:All staff were friendly! Food delicious,
Review 60:We were in the Knights suite and the traffic noise was not helpful to a good 'nights' sleep nor was the heavy duvet which the staff kindly changed for a light blanket.
Review 61:The food and cleanliness. The very pleasant and helpful staff.
Review 62:Nothing except that I had to leave!
Review 63:Standard of the accommodation, comfort, customer service & value for money. When we checked out we were given a small bag with 2 bottles of water and 2 apples for our onward journey - a lovely touch and excellent service.
Review 64:Room next to main road - hot so opened windows and was noisy Swimming pool closed Didn't like decor in knights suite
Review 65:Very comfy beds Super friendly staff Lovely breakfast Nice toiletries
Review 66:We were in a modern room in a separate block which was small and the hottest hotel room I've ever slept in. There was a desk fan provided so I don't think we were the first to have this issue. Have been to this hotel on 7 previous occasions as a diner and for my 40th party so was disappointed that the room wasn't up to the standard of the rest of this lovely hotel. Wifi is also practically non existent which didn't bother us unduly but if I were using this for business stopover it would have been very different!
Review 67:Food was exceptional although priced accordingly. Wine list expensive. Our bottle of fleury was £38 and this was one of the cheaper bottles. But there is a lovely second restaurant which is much cheaper so you have a choice to spend or not. Staff charming and helpful.
Review 68:No extractor fan in the bathroom. Shower head was not adjustable. Horrendously overpriced lounge drinks.
Review 69:Comfy stylish room. Gorgeous gardens. Nice extra touches like delicious apples in room and foyer & L'Occitane toiletries...fruit and water goody bags on departure.
Review 70:We both felt the food was not hot enough and this was because the girl gets the food on a tray and waits for the waitor to get to them before serving by which time the food is only luke warm. As a vegetarian, I was surprised there was nothing with cheese in and I love cheese. Only vegetables although beautifully done I didn't feel I had eaten anything with substance to it.
Review 71:The hotel was lovely and the staff were very helpful and attentive. The food was good
Review 72:Minor point, rather short of drawer space in bedroom, otherwise the room and bathroom were the best for a long time.
Review 73:Very clean, staff very helpful, polite and efficient. Room was immaculate, serviced morning AND evening, always fresh and clean. Lovely grounds, plenty of free car parking. We enjoyed dinner in the Brasserie.
Review 74:Improvement in bedings
Review 75:Bed should be a king size if it is booked a king size Should not be a joint in bed And make it a king size It was not a confartable bed Other wise it's very good hotel
Review 76:Dining options at the hotel are a little on the expensive side for anyone on a budget.
Review 77:Very friendly staff, a beautiful main house and grounds. The breakfast is second to none.
Review 78:There nothing to say negative about the hotel only that situation happened which meant the hotel road was close for an hour or so but nothing against the hotel itself
Review 79:The hotel was lovely and upgrade us to a bigger room when they understood it was a birthday trip which made it more special and the little gesture like a travel home bag made them stand out
Review 80:Nothing.
Review 81:This is more than a hotel - it is a lesson in luxury, good manners, excellent food, outstanding service and making the customer feel special. An oasis in the middle of a desert of boring hotels and B&B's with bad or indifferent service. Any aspiring hotelier should book himself in for a stay at Mallory Court.
Review 82:Very poor & slow service in the brasserie, in particular waiting for our pre-dinner drinks. The staff clearly need to learn how to make the cocktails on the drinks list and serve them in the proper glasses (i.e. a long island iced tea appeared in a martini glass without the coca cola). However, they were very apologetic and did not charge for such cocktail.
Review 83:Very comfortable bed and room
Review 84:We hooked last minute and therefore were put in the newer building. Although lovely and modern, you. You could hear everything going on in the corridors, outside, and through the walls as the walls seemed very thin. That was the only downside.
Review 85:We booked a day before arrival and everything was arranged and sorted efficiently by the hotel. The staff on arrival and throughout were lovely and accommodating. The grounds are beautiful, as it the main building. We stayed in the newer building separate to the main house.
Review 86:* Reception upon arrival was extremely helpful and friendly. * Beautifully located * Dinner in Brasserie was really nice, good wines * Excellent breakfast * Worth visiting
Review 87:Everything was perfect! All staff, in the main house & the brasserie were exceptionally good, friendly yet professional & unobtrusive The food was delicious & cleanliness throughout was A1. We would highly recommend to all- Thank you.
Review 88:The Mallory Court Hotel was excellent, the staff were exemplary and we can't fault them in any aspect.
Review 89:Mallory Court Hotel was excellent, beautiful peaceful place and the staff very helpful. My wife and I, booked in this hotel for our son's university graduation and we were glad that we stayed at this hotel. We think this hotel is the best in Leamington Spa.
Review 90:Hotel staff were attentive but a more mature Manager or Maitre d' could have prevented a few hiccups in the dining room and on reception. Receptionist and junior Manager dealt with issues well and couldn't have tried harder.
Review 91:Fabulous hotel and very friendly and helpful staff
Review 92:Mallory Court is really lovely, we had an overnight stay on our way to Goodwood - the staff are a credit to the hotel, very efficient and friendly. The hotel is so tranquil, set in beautiful gardens, the food is exceptional - and only 3 miles off Junction 15 of the M40. Don't know why anyone would stay in any of the mainstream motorway hotels, when you can have the luxury of Mallory Court, at a fantastic price for the quality.
Review 93:Quality of room and food - excellent value, friendly staff. Couldn't fault it at all.
Review 94:Excellent staff and location. Very friendly.
Review 95:No dressing table with mirror
Review 96:Very well looked after by staff.
Review 97:Excellent welcome and service
Review 98:the old part of hotel - decor. Standards of service. Excellent breakfast and meal in Brasserie
Review 99:Very romantic setting with attentive staff!
Review 100:Staff friendly and efficient. Room lovely and clean. Comfortable bed. Good food including breakfast
Review 101:Mallory is a wonderful location where you can be assured of excellent food, wine and service- without exception
Review 102:Fresh cooked and waitress service breakfast Comfortable bed, clean room Use of very good nearby gym and swimming pool
Review 103:Avoid the Knights Suite rooms by the main road. Bad road noise all night
Review 104:Very comfortable and good location
Review 105:FabUlous I loved EVERYTHING even the weather was kind to us
Review 106:Traffic noise, our room would have benefitted from double glazing
Review 107:Staff

Review 112:Very helpful staff. Great food
Review 113:everything was perfect
Review 114:absolutely everything
Review 115:Location, view food an room, all pleasing to the weary travellor.
Review 116:It was amazing
Review 117:The erratic hot water in the shower.
Review 118:The little extras in the bathroom, bathrobe decent size towels etc.
Review 119:Dinner in brasserie - boil-in-the bag, pretentious and not nice
Review 120:Efficient and welcoming staff
Review 121:Staff were super Brasserie was lovely Room was clean and very well equipped
