Reviews for Alia Palace Luxury Hotel and Villas
Review 1:the quality of the food is low and far from 5 star hotel expectations despite large buffets. Especially breakfast (deep fried eggs, cold omelettes, etc etc In order to go to beach you need to go by shuttle 10 min. which has infrequent schedule. room quite far from central building; hotel not suitable for people who cannot walk
Review 2:nice pool area. large room appartement style hotel, different houses around property. tennis court
Review 3:Baby swimmingpool, it is to deep for small kids. The staff at the frontdesk should be more informative. The villas are nice but not fivestar, the minibar did not work and there are alot of mosqitos and ants.
Review 4:there is no security , we stayed 3 nights and always sleep as one eye is open . we read on the comments someone WHO stayed there and we were awaiting a tragic case like this. And unfortunately another room is burglared when our last night. They have to hire a night security person and renovate all rooms asap.
Review 5:panaromic sea view
Review 6:Not a real five-star experience but surely value for money. If you travel without a car, arriving to the beach can be a bit difficult. (They have shuttle bus service) But if you have a car don't hesitate to stay in this hotel.
Review 7:Standart, green and clean hotel with a nice pool and panoramic view. It is located in Pefkohori with many dining and shopping alternatives around. If you have a car go to the Paradise beach just 4 km away, you will find one of the best beaches of area, not luxurious, not loud party music, quite, sunbad&umbrellas free of charge, good prices, crystal water, natural trees shadow and amazing atmosphere.
Review 8:Rude receptionists, parking place too far away from all rooms, poor wifi, bugs everywhere,
Review 9:Perfect location, amazing view, clean rooms, sea view rooms have amazing view, spacious balcony, rich breakfast.
Review 10:Even though my overall is 4.2 the weird thing is that I would come backto this hotel but keep reading because the things that happened... Omg.This is the thing, coming from America where customer service is superimportant I just realize that at least Greece could care less about thatand maybe thats why the country is how it is right now economically. The hotel has the potential to be great but it just miss TO MUCH.I stayed in the junior suit for 1 night and in a double room 3 nightsSuite:It has a private swimming pool but the room doesnt make justice. It cost 250 euro the night everything is clean but it is almost the size of a double room. The view is awful with the parking lot in front and wooden sheds almost falling down and a mini side sea view. The private pool is extremely cold and my 3 year old daughter neither my wife didn't want to swim because of that. This "junior suite" should be the typical double room in this hotel meaning that the price for this room is overpriced: No view, no separate room, no table, no chairs.Double room:I dont understand how is this hotel 5 stars. At the moment that I arrived and saw the pool I said... hmmm ok this is not bad but it is maximum a 4 star hotel. Maybe the rooms are AWESOME (when I arrived my room was not ready even I told them from before that I was going to arrive early, THEY HAD AVAILABLE ROOMS, and they didn't answer to me that they couldn't accommodate me before 2 o clock, I had to wait 2 hours in the pool). So I though maybe the rooms are AWESOME. When I get into the double room I Changed my mind and said: 3 stars NO WAY 4. FULL with spider webs and spiders, ants, holes in the bathroom walls, old bathtubs, old toilets, old bathroom, bad smell, dust over the mirror frame (A LOT) and ironically the view was better than the junior suite. They made me an special rate of 119 euro the night. I don't know what to think...
Review 11:The hotel has many things to enjoy. It has a "great" pool, agolf cart that takes you where ever you want inside the premises (ifavailable), a great view(that doesn't mean that the location isgreat, though (Ill explain why)), and a lot of green areas Breakfast wasvery good, surprisingly even though I served myself bacon and some friedroast beef appeared??? Weird.
Review 12:Much below expectations of a 5-star hotel. Small bedrooms, small bath, balcony door was broken, didnt have hot water for first 2 days of our stay and had to call reception for them to fix, breakfast was of average quality
Review 13:Nice view, good location
Review 14:had to wait too long for pool bar staff to come around and serve us, but we save alot of money .
Review 15:Love the hotel and accommodation. Very clean house keeping came twice a day to the room. Location was up a hill but there was a free bus shuttle service to the local beach. Kiki Papa was a fabulous help at front office and booked all out travel and even printed up our boarding passes for us.
Review 16:The breakfast buffe was not up to standard for 5 stars hotel, but we can recommend the a la carte
Review 17:We had a fantastic time at Alia Palace Luxury Hotel and Villas. The service was very good, and we had 2 wonderful weeks.
Review 18:No Wifi in the pool Did not allow to bring our own food/drinks to the pool area Location is quite far from the village below not a walking distance, and not enough rides going down or back up
Review 19:Pool area and view were excelent
Review 20:We stayed there for seven days during the 3rd week of July. considering how crowdy Pefkochori was, its location was very good, on the hill and on the quiet part of the village. Rooms very clean, bathroom also. The room was cleaned on a daily basis, sheets and towels changes everyday. Rooms spacy and comfortable. The staff was friendly. The food was exeptional with a variety of foods, fresh and tasty. Breakfast and dinner very good.
Review 21:* WiFi was not working almost everywhere in the hotel and the excuse was due to the ISP although the devices had problems getting even IP addresses from their routers (very immature way to steer away from the responsibility) * No warm water for two nights in a row (try bathing a baby this way)
Review 22:Great location Helpful personnel
Review 23:we arrived late at 22.30 it is a good hour and a half trip from thessaloniki airport and we were tired. as soon as we sat on the bed it collapsed.(we are not overweight) the night manager came and offered us another junior suite which wasnt like the one we have been allocated but almost the same specs. they didnt offer us any discount/compensation for the bed and the inconvenience. Dont book with your amex that hotel wont take amex. wasted another 30min on the checkout looking for another card to pay them. The hotel is not 5 star compared to european hotels. the experience of having a pool on the junior suite is really good.
Review 24:the location. a bit complicated to reach the hotel due to limited signs on the main road. access road to junior suite is not tarmac and very dusty.
Review 25:Beach, shops and restaurants so far from hotel; Bus to beach have 2 hours lunch break sometimes it wasn't very comfortable;
Review 26:Lovely view from room, good swimming pool, beautiful hotel area, comfortable rooms and helpful staff;
Review 27:I was stayin in Villas with private pool , it was so dirty , the bad was very uncomfortable , every night when i open the door of my room was full of instects. Its not look like in photo . Dissapointed
Review 28:Only the pool and the view. Nothing ellse
Review 29:Wifi is infuriatingly slow (I.E. doesn't work / there is noconnectivity); rooms are very basic (2.5* at best); staff are extremelyrude and careless (we stored our luggage at reception and it was lost/ given to another guest, no accountability of staff);communication is terrible (we arranged and paid for an airport transferbut were dropped in the middle of nowhere next to a stinking pile oftrash and the hotel denounced all responsibility despite us arranging/ paying them).
Review 30:Pool area, breakfast included, a la carte meals are inexpensive and goodquality, amazing views
Review 31:- Internet = no internet or its very slow so you cant open any mails - Rooms are not for hotel 5* - Bad smell from bathroom - Bad insulation we heard what other people talks in their rooms - ANTS in room
Review 32:- Foods = i like it :) and its already missing ha - View from the pool - Staff are very friendly
Review 33:We had a wonderful long weekend at Alia Palace. The facilities are on a hill with incredible views. At first, I was a little disappointed to not be on the beach, but then I had a chance to enjoy the views from the restaurant and pool, as well as from the private deck and pool in our junior suite, and I was hooked. There is a regular shuttle to the beach and it's also not a bad walk down the hill, so it's easy to have it both - the views and the sand. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to help my husband arrange a dive trip. The breakfast buffet is also very good. The entire property is spotless and our room was spacious and comfortable. We can't wait to come back!
Review 34:very bad wi-fi!!! We stayed in villa with private pool and we announced that the pool lights does not work but this issue is not resolved in three days that we stayed.
Review 35:excellent location, smiling staff, breakfast satisfactory, very beautiful pool. You can eat dinner with 12 euro per person for buffet, good food! Very clean in the room.
Review 36:Extremely over priced for what you get, will definitely give it a miss next time. Extremely disorganised staff at the pool bar, couple with an attitude and would completely ignore your presence and request. Hotel on the top of steep hill, not a comfortable walk down. Rely on shuttles which are not as frequent or late as wouls be wished.
Review 37:Pool and view
Review 38:Room junior suite toilet wasn't working private pool no lights bed uncomfortable could hear everything in next room overcharged me for upgrade compared to internet food is not eatable although plenty nice restaurants beach side
Review 39:The view from pool
Review 40:Very bad location, hilly, we walked 5 minutes up the hill to get from the swimming pool to our rooms in separate building. Far from beach. Average food. No Wi-Fi in rooms.
Review 41:I only liked the view
Review 42:wardrobe unusable - a lot of mold inside minibar unusable - mold and rust inside ants living in the bathroom not working shower (in one of our rooms), which nobody repaired during our stay
Review 43:Nice location, superrior views to the sea, well done place for summer vacation
Review 44:A little bit cold in the rooms , we were there mid april , but we received extra blanquets on request . Not a big issue . The location is very beautiful for the views but very steep road to walk from the beach . There is a shuttle bus few times a day. The insulation between rooms very poor , you can hear even the water running in the neighbours bathrooms .
Review 45:We we there for Easter . Very welcoming and helpfull staff . Fantastic views from the terrace . We received a complimentary traditional snack after the midnight mess. We had a shuttle bus for the church . Very happy with the service .Excellent breakfast .
Review 46:Well first of all, I rang reception for some milk. They have facilitiesto make coffee, they have coffee and sugar, but no milk, so I asked formilk, and she said yes we will bring it to you. Then she rang back andsaid she will charge me 5 Euro. Then the furniture is cheap, beduncomfortable, road outside the room was full of mud, ladder to accessthe private pool, is too high and makes it almost impossible to get out.No Greek channels on tv, and played Non Greek music while at the pool.Staff could not speak Greek.
Review 47:The pool was really good.It had great views. The lady behind the bar,Liza Marie, was really friendly and helpful.
Review 48:-The mattress was very bad needs to be changed - Stronger wifi -the mini bus from hotel to peukohori village stoped at 18.30 pm -there was a cottage with dogs ,chickens and other animals next to the hotel that was a bit disturbing
Review 49:We stayed at the room 611 with the private pool and was great for a romantic weekend, the view was very nice ,the room was big new and very clean , there was a mini bar ,a/c,wifi, coffe maker, the bathroom was very spacius and clean.
Review 50:Verry poor WiFi, same food every morning
Review 51:Excellent location and view. Bit to far from beach but there it is a buss all day long to take you there. Very friendly staff, clean room.
Review 52:Mud on the road to our apartment from reception and on rainy day impossible to enjoy it. Neighbours can look at your private swimming pool ....Very bad internet connection
Review 53:very good view and cheapest Moet i ever had !
Review 54:The hotel is four stars deffinately not five, breakfast and dinner shows as well. The wi-fi is not really high quality.
Review 55:Gorgeous view ! Rooms are ok clean.
Review 56:Personnel flexibility - the rooms next to us were also having a table with 2 chairs I asked reception if we can have one, they said they do not have for all rooms; i explained that next to us there was no one, sonthey could have easily transfer it they said is not possible Absurd rules of dressing code at a la carte restaurant located next to the swimming pool; very poor offer as well
Review 57:I loved the view of pefkohori from the dinner table I liked the idea of private pool, the big swimmimng pool as well
Review 58:It is not a 5 star hotel at all. Wi-Fi connection is just working in the reception. Fitness center and the spa were very poor for a 5 star hotel. Bugs in the room; even walking on my bed.The shampoo bottle hanging in the bathtub was empty when we checked in and they did not fill it during our stay; they even did not replace the empty shower gel tubes. Photos of the hotel are really misleading. You don't really see the apartments and buildings you will stay in.
Review 59:the view from the hotel
Review 60:Wi-Fi connection is a joke. It works perfect, but only in the reception and the pool area. In the rooms it doesn't work and it's not because of the Internet Provider, as they try to justify (if it was from the ISP then it shouldn't work in the reception also), but the problem is from their internal WAN which is not properly configured. TIPS : ask for a room in the first building which is closer to the reception so you'll have a better Wifi connection
Review 61:The pool, the panoramic view, the food... everything
Review 62:no negatives

Review 64:Staff and offers

Review 124:far from the sea
Review 125:value for money
Review 126:Scorpion and bugs in room upon entering room at initial check in after waiting one and have hours for the room to be ready! Private pool was dirty and had not been cleaned a couple of days. The clincher was the worm found in the bed by my guest at midnight. I cancelled my remaining stay and went to another hotel. Worse hotel experience ever!!!
Review 127:Great view
Review 128:The standard for 5 stars hotels is usually much higher. If it was 3 stars hotel, I'd say it was very good. But judging the actual 5 stars standard brings the following comments: - the bathtub is clearly tiny and the curtain for the shower is hanging poorly on some cheap metal things. - The bathroom window is located next to the bathtub (hips level), meaning that opening the window gives the right spot to the wrong area of your body :) - The jacuzzi is to be paid and very expensive (10€ per hour per person if 6 people, else 60€ per hour) - No inside swimming pool - Poor/cheap sport room - Wifi shuts down daily (out of 1 week) - Poor choice of food for the restautant (but tasty) - The bed rooms have a mirror showing an angle on the neighbour balconey from the bed... In brief, Ok but the value for money is bad. If they decrease the price (-20%), add an inside (warm) swimming pool, make the jacuzzi free, add dishes, re-check the bathroom quality and the mirror with a view on the bed, then the hotel will gain significative improvements to be a real "5 stars".
Review 129:We liked: - the location: located at a very nice place (gorgeous view). - clean rooms - nice outside swimming pool - nice staff in general - nice hotel environment, good parking - beautiful view from room
Review 130:Our stay was great. The hotel is located above the village but in the same time very close to the taverns and bars. The restaurant has a fantastic position and you can enjoy a romantic dinner with a beautiful view. Delicious cocktails at the pool bar you need to try Right Now!!! The staff was very professional and friendly ready to make the stay perfect. We loved the view from our room, the food was very fresh and tasty and the Spa was pure luxury!!! Very clean and comfortable rooms, free Wi-Fi, beach towels every day, private parking place for those coming with the car or friends with no additional charges......everything was excellent for a five star hotel. Our experience was amazing and I will highly recommend Alia Palace to my friends!!!
Review 131:The hotel is up on the hill and walking from the village is somewhat challenging (no problem for people in good shape, good exercise for the rest) but the hotel offers free shuttle service (reliable schedule and minibus in a mint condition) that runs regularly between the hotel and the village.
Review 132:This was our third time in Pefkohori and the second time we decided to stay in Alia Palace mainly because of the breath-taking view and the sense of tranquillity that offers. Since our last stay two years before the hotel changed significantly since it went through a major renovation that improved many of its aspects and a new section of FANTASTIC junior suites with private pool has been built (we didn’t stay but we asked from the staff hotel to visit them because we liked them very much from the outside). In addition now the hotel it features a nice spa (reasonable prices), a nice tennis court and a cosy gym (both free of charge). The hotel was very clean and the personnel was friendly and made us feel comfortable (they speak English fluently and they are very helpful with the guests). The hotel is situated over the hill of Pefkohori which is a beautiful seashore village with nice shops and taverns. The beach is nice and sandy, even though we prefer the Alia's pool (nice and clean) with the magnificent view and the great mattress sunbeds. The pool bar is nice and during the lunch operates also as a tavern (nice spirits and cocktails, good food and services and reasonably priced). The hotel had a reliable fast wi-fi connection and we were able to use even Skype to speak with friends and family. The breakfast buffet was very nice and the dinner buffet was nice too with many tasty choices (there is an inside dining area but you can seat outside over the pool if you want to enjoy the fantastic view). Finally our room was very well equipped with comfortable bed and pillows, we didn't have any problem with the hot water and the bath amenities and the air- condition worked fine. The balcony of our room was great and we really liked to seat there and enjoy the stunning sea view.
Review 133:That we didn't know about the new junior suites.
Review 134:This is our second visit at the hotel. The location of the hotel is amazing. The view from the room as well as the restaurant and the swimming pool is breathtaking! You avoid the crowds of Pefkohori (especially in July-August) as the hotel is located on a top of hill, while you are 6-7 minutes away from the beach. Rooms were renovated this year and are much better than our last visit last year. Small issues that existed in the past (like absence of one time use flip flops), are now resolved. We strongly recommend a romantic dinner at the hotel's restaurant, by the pool where you can enjoy the sea view at the new wooden deck. The stuff was friendly. Finally next time we will reserve one of the new junior suites with private pool. As the stuff told us, they were just constructed and we were amazed by the modern design when they showed us one!
Review 135:There should be better pictures.. In the advert you don't see the apartments buildings you will stay in.. All photos of outdoor area is from the main building where you have bar-resturant -spa etc...
Review 136:1.Left early in the morning, staff asked If they should Arrange with food at 0500.. 2. Spa girls made good spa treatment for good rates.. Was perfect.. 3. All Inclusive avaliable... The buffet in the evening was OK.. Good breakfast in the mornings.. 4. Nice location with nice pool area and main building..Fantastic view over the sea.. Looking over a small village with friendly inhabitants..Recommend the fish taverna Zaparis or something like that in the street below the hotel.. 5. Good value for the money..
Review 137:Low quality for a 5* hotel, I would graduate it for medium 4*. The bathroom was small, had no shower (bath only), and was old. There were not slippers, no mini bar, no laundry bag, or shawing kit available ... that is must for a 5* Poor bufet at the breakfast.
Review 138:The hotel is situated on a hill above the village, which makes it different from the others situated in croudy center. Beautiful view of the village and the seaside, even from the pool. Countryside, green, quite, trees all over. Free shuttle car to the beach and the village.
