Reviews for Stoneleigh Park Lodge

Review 1:Sat Nav directed me to a closed entrance. Had to find my way to Stoneleigh village before Satnav gave correct directions.

Review 2:Good value. Location good for meeting at University the following day.

Review 3:Staff were generally poor, no real desire to help especially the the guy on lates and the lady 'on patrol' during breakfast. Made no attempt to speak and we felt as though we were just in a tick list of guests that she wanted to hurry out. Postcode on Booking.com sends you to Stoneleigh Abbey, which is vast and in acres of land 2 miles away. Not great if you are visiting from outside the area, which we were. Hotel are aware but this needs to be sorted as it took us ages to find the hotel as it's located within a large agricultural centre.

Review 4:plenty of room to park, decent sized room, nice girl on reception when we checked out

Review 5:Was phoned a couple of days before visit to say dining room would be closed for redecoration but food still available. There was a terrible smell of paint & when we wanted to order room service no staff were on hand & and we had to go to the kitchen & get someone to find a member of staff which took ages. Despite all the inconvenience we were charged full price plus £15 for 2 dogs

Review 6:Location

Review 7:The place was being refurbished, which meant that some facilities were not available. We were, very properly, informed of this in advance. I hate not having cakes of soap in the bathroom.

Review 8:The staff were helpful and efficient. The price of dinner, bed and breakfast was hard to beat. Our room was spotless.

Review 9:Wasn't sure of finding the location but probably my fault for not doing More preparation.

Review 10:Good to be able to arrive late and eat a good meal at the lodge

Review 11:Breakfast service was dire. Hot buffet food was good when it came but it was brought in staggered doses on this occasion. Some businessmen were even eating part of their meal 'on the hoof' whilst waiting for other components to arrive from the kitchen. Plus, THE most surly server imaginable.

Review 12:Excellent, centrally based location. Tranquil setting in the 'old' Royal Agricultural Society Showground. Spacious parking. Clean tidy bedrooms, fabulously hot water.

Review 13:Very uncomfortable beds - hard mattresses and limp pillows. Uninspired evening meals in restaurant - not at all up to the breakfast standard! Separate hot and cold taps in the bathroom sink which is horrible for washing!

Review 14:Superb location for Stoneleigh Park exhibitions. Excellent breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Easy access and convenient parking.

Review 15:Sat Nav code takes you to the Abbey even thought I phoned the hotel to confirm the sat nav code. This caused a problem for around a third of our 115 delegates that were attending an event with us.

Review 16:Very convenient as we were hosting an event on site the next morning. Hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful.

Review 17:Uncomfortable, narrow single bed. Room small for twin beds and dog. Staff did not understand 'coeliac' in terms of breakfast.

Review 18:Near to my relations. Pet friendly. Ground floor.

Review 19:Booked twin room but arrived to double. With adult daughter so didn't really want to share a bed. Room swapped immediately but meant we didn't have the garden room we expected. Wifi was very poor, hoped to work in evening in room but couldn't.

Review 20:The friendly, helpful staff. Great food.

Review 21:Noisy corridor slamming doors. No room in restaraunt at breakfast not worth the £95 a night about 20 youths shouting outside in the evening on and off

Review 22:Staff

Review 23:The male receptionist on a night shift wasn't helpful at all, we came to the stoneleigh park lodge as a family of 4, but had to have two separate rooms which were in different places not next to each other even though I had book in advance. When you enter stoneleigh park it's not sign posted very well so of an nighttime it's impossible to find.

Review 24:The breakfast was lovely

Review 25:Everything. The staff were friendly, smiling and courteous. The room was of a good size with all the facilities we required. The bed must have been very comfortable as we both had a really good nights sleep. The breakfast was varied and plentiful and they did us a sandwich for our evening meal even though it wasn't on the menu. Setting lovely and parking right outside our window. Really wasn't anything else we could have asked for. Thank you very much.

Review 26:Sat nav tends to take you to the wrong location, (not really the hotels fault i suppose).

Review 27:Reasonably priced food and beverages. Room was basic but had everything i needed. Staff were very helpful.

Review 28:breakfast not very good on choice so signpost to get you out of carpark or in you need to sort this nearly was late for show

Review 29:Fab bed very quiet in hotel would stay again

Review 30:Staff were less than enthusiastic Wifi didn't work in room Restaurant food very average

Review 31:Large clean room with good bathroom. Ample parking. Breakfast selection

Review 32:room checks needed- one bedside lamp and standard lamps bulbs out. patio door key not in room when booked in - had to ask net morning- booked to accommodate pets and that was an inconvenience

Review 33:location for business meet, relaxed atmosphere, resh made food

Review 34:Shower very stiff to operate No air conditioning Poor range of fruit and breads at breakfast.

Review 35:Short distance to relative's house. Patio door leading to small garden area

Review 36:Rooms were not air conditioned and no fan facilities were availible. The choice of dinner menu was unchanged over the last 2 years (same menu of the same offered dishes - nothing new and no variety)

Review 37:The location was convenient for access to the Kennel Club building and excellent for dog walking as it is based in a large area of open land

Review 38:Not much for the price... It is tired in places but reasonably clean and certainly functional. Bigger TVs would be nice! ;-)

Review 39:Use it as a bolthole for working week if required for early starts etc so it does what I need it to. Location is great for me!

Review 40:It certainly didn't seem 4 star, the bathroom needed updating and the shower was rubbish! The bed was ok but they needed new bedding. Not sure it was worth the money.

Review 41:They were dog friendly and the breakfast was nice

Review 42:From the off the staff were really excellent. The formula just works. The lodge does not pretend to be what it is not, but what it is it does very, very well.

Review 43:Children running and shouting in the corridor. Build so flimsy this shook the floor of my room and my bed. Poor soundproofing.

Review 44:The location. The shower. Breakfast.

Review 45:Very limited breakfast options with no consideration for special a needs diet. Location is good but finding it with Satellite Navigation was not easy as the directed route was blocked by a locked gate and finding an alternative route at 10.30pm proved very confusing delaying arrival by 40 minutes.

Review 46:Room size is good with space to work. Bathroom is a good size with reasonable provision. Room was clean and well presented Location is quiet with good parking

Review 47:The bathroom was tired with rusty fittings, an in-your-face shower and a cheap shower curtain. The TV was the smallest I've ever seen in a hotel room, there was a peeling table and chair set on the patio, where some slabs were unstable. A very wonky standard lamp and dirty windows. I skipped dinner at the "Bistro" because "a strong emphasis on real British food" doesn't really include chicken wings, prawn salad, chilli con carne or pizza. Try the Red Lion at Hunningham instead.

Review 48:The hotel is in a rural location and reasonably accessible from Coventry and nearby towns. Free, fast wifi was good, and breakfast was also good, if limited.

Review 49:The lodge was very noisy with a large group of bikers during the Friday and Saturday nights and due to the rather thin walls I did not get much rest. Breakfast was a greasy affair unless you just had toast of cereal.

Review 50:Location was walking distance from the Kennel Club which was very convenient. Rooms were clean and bed was comfortable.

Review 51:shame not fenced completly with a little gate around court yard making it safer and more dog friendly - so we could let our dog run free all of his stay - little concerned as still a puppy may spot another dog and run out to it - other than that lovely stay and our doggy enjoyed himself too

Review 52:nice dog walks eve/morn around the park hastle free - breakfast was very nice thanks

Review 53:heating none existant carpet looked like mice had been at it threadbare highlight of menu steak and curly frys !!!!!! breakfast no sausages run out eggs cold and swimming in oil beans more juice than beans bacon was ok tv take binoculars very small to sum up jaded and tired

Review 54:not a lot

Review 55:The only thing i would like to see is a decent size TV. When relaxing in bed on an evening the TV is very very small....

Review 56:Everything, great guest house.

Review 57:Room was completely different to the rooms pictured, very dated. Loud alarm went off just after 7am with no explanation.

Review 58:The closeness of the hotel to the building our conference was in.

Review 59:How can you have treacle sponge and apple crumble without custard??

Review 60:Location for events, good value food and bar prices. Very friendly and efficient staff, Food very tasty but...

Review 61:Room fine though noise insulation between rooms and issue. Paper thin walls it seems...The person next door very noisy.. Perhaps a noisy insomniac as started at 6pm till 1am. and re-started at 6am. OMG I guess just unlucky... Hope you are lucky!! And have a good stay

Review 62:Decent room and breakfast

Review 63:The room was very cold but the hotel did provide a portable heater when we asked.

Review 64:Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice clean room. Good location if you need to be at the show ground, remote if not.

Review 65:Personally found some of the chairs were rather low making dining at table awkward.

Review 66:Friendliness of staff. Good menu with wide selection of food and wine. Excellent service and a good breakfast to start the day. Convenience to venue of dog show.

Review 67:A little bit of noise from the corridor. Hollow floors cause the noise.

Review 68:Location is good if you have meetings or events at the showground. Handy for Coventry airport too. Comfortable room. Good choice for breakfast buffet.

Review 69:Bathroom although clean had signs of mould around bath and slight rusting to bath itself. The skirting boards around the room and other shelving was dusty!

Review 70:The staff were very helpful. The Bible in the room was a nice touch. Food was excellent!

Review 71:Everything was perfect, nothing not to not like

Review 72:Staff very friendly and helpful. Room warm and comfortable Excellent cleanliness Tea & coffee making facilities Nice restaurant, good food, great service

Review 73:The outside of the hotel and the reception lobby need some renovation; they do not give an good initial impression

Review 74:There is easy parking at this hotel with lots of space to walk your dog in Stoneleigh Park grounds. The staff are friendly and the bar lounge was lively. You are permitted to bring your breakfast back to your room which is helpful when you have an early start.

Review 75:The bar area was suitable for breakfast , but not condusive to a quiet drink in the evening.

Review 76:Everything about the hotel was good, including the garden room, walking out to a seating area.....

Review 77:Heating did not seem very effective room was cooler than I would have liked it to be even though heating was on all night. Also public toilet downstairs in bar area was in a disgusting state & I was just pleased I had a toilet in my room I could use :(

Review 78:Staff excellent location a great get away from the hustle of everyday life. Food excellent. Heating needs looking at room was not as warm as I would have liked heater was on all night but did not seem to do anything. Room service great, breakfast very filling and enjoyable.

Review 79:Was in an assistance room as I had requested a ground floor room so the bath was not very deep and the shower was too low

Review 80:Location and friendliness of staff nothing was too much trouble

Review 81:The fire alarm went off twice in the night, once at about 4.15 am and again about 7.30 am. I could not get back to sleep between the two alarms and eventually woke at my alarm groggy, not having had enough sleep. I should have had a refund. This is unacceptable. I did not have time to complain as I left and I now regret that.

Review 82:Most things. Food was great, staff pleasant, room clean and comfy.

Review 83:TV screen very small bathroom ventilation not working

Review 84:Good size comfortable room good food good level of lighting in room hotel 100 yards from exhibition hall away from any roads, no sound of traffic - bliss!

Review 85:There was nothing too dislike it suited my needs.

Review 86:Near to Conference centre and very close to other attractions such as Bourton on Water, Stow and Warwick Castle. VERY friendly and helpful and efficient staff...fabulous food evening dinner and breakfast and a cosy bar...perfect after a long drive.. and ample parking free...highly recommend Stoneleigh Park Lodge Hotel.

Review 87:Mould in bathroom.

Review 88:Overall the cleanliness was good but the bathroom was showing signs of needing a good 'de- moulding' as there was evidence of mould everwhere in the bathroom.

Review 89:Menu in restaurant limited for a 3 or more night stay. Food adequate and well prepared and served but not enough variety for longer stay.

Review 90:size comfort and cleanliness of room.

Review 91:the room smelt quite damp - emanating from the bathroom. It wasn't noticeable after a few minutes. Also, breakfast was good but could have done with scrambled eggs and maybe a little more choice.

Review 92:The staff were friendly and the room was comfortable - just a standard hotel room as you would expect. The location was ideal for us as we were going to the NEC but also wanted to look around the area. Leamington Spa and Statford upon Avon were easy to get to. The hotel is based on the old 'Royal Show Grounds' and is quite a random selection of buildings, mainly linked to agriculture, animals, but could be anything from a Newfoundland show to Kungfu exhibition. Certainly not dull but you will need a car and best to arrive during daylight if you can so that you can figure the layout of the site.

Review 93:Thought that the room looked a bit tired and the breakfast selection was quite limited. Didn't think it justified the cost.

Review 94:The meal we had in the evening was excellent and reasonably priced. The location being yards from the venue for the show we were attending.

Review 95:Mould in the bathroom, room very tired, furniture old. At breakfast the hot food had been removed earlier than their stated timetable. There is no lift. The lodge is on an agricultural industrial estate.

Review 96:Breakfast food is basic but good.

Review 97:The black mould around the bath which we did report let the rest of the accommodation down.

Review 98:The views from the garden room were beautiful and the location quiet and peaceful. The staff were pleasant and helpful making our stay enjoyable.

Review 99:Room clean but very basic & tired looking. Needs some updating!

Review 100:Quiet location for overnight stop but not easy to find (in middle ofagricultural show ground ). Bar & restaurant serving pub type grub.Efficient staff throughout.

Review 101:TV small/sound poor

Review 102:Location in gated showground. Nice open spaces all around. No problem with parking. Mostly very clean. Pleasant helpful staff.

Review 103:Nothing realy, just being picky I think it would be hard getting there with out sat nav at night. The security gate was a bit disconcerting, but not a real issue.

Review 104:Breakfast, the accomodation was as good as or better than some high profile inns and breakfast was included :-)

Review 105:This is not a four stay hotel... no way! Refurb not sure where Mould in the bathroom Damp smell A little isolated Tiny TV wouldn't stay here again

Review 106:Friendly welcome comfy bed and slept well ok for a basic stay if you have to Reasonable breakfast 24 hour bar plenty of parking

Review 107:Noisey, every time someone walked down the corridor it woke me up. The bed was hard and very uncomfortable. Woken up again at 5am by someone dropping something on the floor upstairs. Won't be back again.

Review 108:Wifi connection was ok

Review 109:Thin walls so lots of noise from the corridors and adjoining rooms. Uncomfortable seat in room.

Review 110:Good location, helpful staff and speedy service. Good Wi-Fi connection.

Review 111:TVS was rather small and hence difficult to watch. Wifi was available but a little slow. Black mould patches around the bath - an occasional use of bleach would prevent this!

Review 112:Obliging staff, quiet location and quality and range of breakfast items. Room size and layout were fairly standard and easily met our needs. Extra pillows were welcome, linen and towels were in good condition.

Review 113:A few staff need to improve the service with a smile attitude.

Review 114:Located in a 'park' area so places to walk. Excellent price for room and food Large room Early breakfast

Review 115:Restaurant is the bar and vey cold an drab looking like being in school dinner room

Review 116:This hotel is ideal if you like a field away from everywhere an old building but claw not ideal without a car if you want to find local pub as amenities very inadequiet for socialising

Review 117:Although food was served fast, salmon and vegetables I chose were very dried out. Sleep was constantly disturbed due to very noisy fire doors banging loudly every time someone walked through them. Very annoying!

Review 118:Food service was very fast and service was friendly. The sticky toffee pudding was delicious. Free wifi and tea and coffee facilities in room.

Review 119:Pillows were a bit hard, part from that every thing fine.

Review 120:Room was very clean, bedding and towels. Even thou it was quite, still take earplugs. Breakfast buffet excellent.

Review 121:Television on all the time in the bar & only sitting area. Too far out of Leamington.

Review 122:Good breakfast and snack bar meal. Helpful staff. Quiet location. Good parking.

Review 123:The hotel was poorly located. Our intention was to have an evening meal in the hotel but the room was loud and noisy like a tap room bar with no staff in sight to seat us.Having sat down and not been able to hear ourselves speak we decided to eat out in Leamington which was a drive away either by taxi or car. Breakfast food was good however i was constantly been pestered from 9.50am by staff standing over me while i was eating waiting to take my plate away from me. There was no atmosphere as we were the only people in apart from another couple who were told to get their toast then the toaster could be switched off. I visit my daughter in Leamington a few times a year and thankfully will now know to avoid this hotel in future.Maybe other guests have endured the same service in the past and thats why everyone seems to eat elsewhere. Made my comments known to reception at the time.

Review 124:This hotel, while very nice is in the middle of an agricultural centre! A little out the way of Leamington Spa.

Review 125:The hotel was very clean and good value.

Review 126:outdoor furniture in need of refurbishment

Review 127:efficient staff ground floor room with patio doors and seating outside dog friendly excellent buffet breakfast

Review 128:The rooms had a distinctive damp smell and furniture was very tired. Bed was uncomfortable and there were mild patches in the bathroom.

Review 129:Not sure how this hotel got the 4 star rating, it doesn't not score more than 3.

Review 130:Rooms were dated. Beds were very hard. Personally I think full price would not be good value for money.

Review 131:Food was very good. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Very quiet area.

Review 132:The bathroom was a little shabby, there was a stained bath and mould around the edge of the bath it was a little off, putting.

Review 133:The location of the hotel is excellent as we were working at the ground. The evening we stayed the hotel was quiet, so we had a reasonable nights sleep. The breakfast was plentiful.

Review 134:The bar/dining area had little ambiance which didn't really encourage one to linger - I suspect it would be better in warmer weather when the outside area would have been utilised more.

Review 135:Staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was very good with a reasonable amount of choice. The bedrooms were clean, tidy and comfortable enough.

Review 136:Found location odd at first, as no mention of being in the middle of an agricultural park on any information I looked at, however, after initial worry, it did not affect stay in any way.

Review 137:Good value for money, buffet breakfasts were constantly topped up with nicely cooked food and a great coffee machine

Review 138:only draw back was the stairs as we live in a bungalow

Review 139:the area was good for us we need to get to the bowls club in Leamnigton and we enjoyed the bonus of seeing the vintage cars

Review 140:The lodge and its surroundings need considerable maintenance. Generally, there is better accomodation and service about for the same money. Car boot sales and other events take place in the Stoneleigh Park grounds.

Review 141:Breakfast was very good. Reception staff friendly and efficient.

Review 142:Residual smell of cigarette from times gone by in room. Staff unfriendly unhelpful. Getting there was a nightmare as postcode given didn't lead to Hotel but an Abbey around the corner and telephone number went through to a rather aggravated guest's room!!! When we told receptionist this she was nonchalant. Breakfast on first day there was no reception and fruit bowl consisted of plums and pears that had seen there best. Chef was downright miserable and gave us 1 egg each which turned out very small and dry. Best thing was sausages-that's it! Area was like an industrial site, will never return again. Was not worth £120 per night, have had much better for that amount of cash.

Review 143:Nothing

Review 144:Dog barking in nearby room when owner went for breakfast early in the morning. Not a major problem, and certainly not suggesting that dogs should be banned, but was glad it didn't bark at night! Grouting in bathroom (room 117) is blackened in places - could do with a touch up. Again, not a major problem.

Review 145:The staff were excellent - when I checked in and pulled a face when I was directed to the first floor room (that I had chosen!) (no lift!), the receptionist, without hesitation, offered to switch me to a ground floor room. Staff in the restaurant were friendly and efficient too.

Review 146:Evening meal could have been better - it was ok but just felt it had been prepared earlier and warmed through - not what we had expected with a chef in the kitchen!

Review 147:Quiet location, staff lovely and good breakfast next day - at an excellent price.
