Reviews for Pierre & Vacances Village Club Port Bourgenay
Review 1:There wasn't enough parking spaces near our apartment and often had to park quite far away which was quite problematic when we had to pack and unpack.
Review 2:We loved everything about the resort; all the staff were friendly and we found no difficulty communicating despite us only speaking English. There was always an abundance of activities on throughout the day with many restraunts and shops nearby as well as on the resort, so we never had nothing to do. The apartment itself was clean and suitable for the five of us.
Review 3:Was late getting there so phoned ahead. Keys was left in a safe but they didn't give us a number and took ages to find someone to help. But nice chap made some calls and sorted the keys
Review 4:Good location for exploring. Le Grand Defi is brilliant. Skate Cross 85 was good Great cycle path all the way to Les Sables Food was good in all the restaurants near the lake (never tried the other restaurant but food looked nice) Very big site so be prepared to walk to the centre or hire bikes like we did.
Review 5:Beds very uncomfortable. Bunk beds for adults with very very thin and uncomfortable mattresses. Its a significant issue on a holiday. Lifeguards that are more concerned about aligning poolside deck chairs to a very specific angle.....rather than watching for safety on the slide issues...No instructions available in English language for activities. I understand that it is France, but this would help most other countries.
Review 6:Excellent venue for all of the family. Very clean. Great cross section of restaurants and cafes on and just off site. Pool slides! Brilliant fun. Near beach using a fun road based train. Staff were extremely friendly and very very pleasant at all times. Group exercise / dance classes outside. Excellent!
Review 7:Unfortunately we had some very noisy neighbours and ourselves and a lot of other neighbours complained about the level of noise, only to be told that if we wanted to move we would be charged 40 euros to have our apartments cleaned. Unbelievable. They said on repeated occasions that they would speak to the noisy neighbours however this seemed to make little difference.
Review 8:The location was very nice - being right next to the lake, port, forests and beaches.
Review 9:Location of the apartment too far from the village centre apartments near the village were closed and they would not let us stay there even though we requested them in our booking, consequently we did not use any of the services in the village as we would have had to drive there, it makes no sense to put guests so far away especially when the centre was only about 20% full. I also feel some of the apartment blocks could do with a fresh coat of paint they are starting to look quite shabby now.
Review 10:The weather , the golf course and the swimming pool.
Review 11:The road rooms were small. We booked a 2 bed VIP apartment and you couldn't really walk around the double bed. Nowhere to put the cases after you've unpacked. The WiFi was useless. I paid a few euros just to see if it would work, it doesn't, so don't pay lots of money for multiple access up front. It was also annoying that they closed some of the pools early (not advertised). Restaurants were advertised as opening at 18:00, we turned up with two hungry kids only to be told the staff were eaten my for the first 30 minutes - quite strange. The onsite minimart had nothing in it of any use. The onsite bakery was closed the first morning we were there, which did spoil things as we love fresh bread & pastries for breakfast when in France.
Review 12:The Village was in a good location. Only a short walk to the port which is where the best restaurants were. Quite a few outdoor pools which the kids enjoyed. Enjoyed hiring bikes from the resort and taking them down to the beach. Checked in without a problem (although they do want paperwork rather than just an email, which is strange thee days).
Review 13:The wifi was awful. It was probably due to the location of our room so others may have a better experience. As with other P&V places we've stayed the beds are rock hard. The man running the mini market on site is frankly just strange. Likes to to shout at passers by - very weird. The kitchens don't have ovens, just a microwave and hub with minimal utensils. Take your own scissors!
Review 14:Great location for families on the Ouest coast of France. Close to the small port which has several good restaurants. Good range of facilities and clubs. Staff very good. Lots of good cycle paths. Road train to the nearby sandy beach is good for little ones.
Review 15:I felt I wasn't made aware of all facilities near our accommodation, like beaches etc due to language barrier.

Review 22:We stayed in a select apartment. It was not clean when we arrived and the whole apartment was shabby and tired. Accommodation is in need of updating and modernising.
Review 23:lots of activities to keep your children busy
Review 24:The beds were kind of uncomfortable.
Review 25:Great staff, very professional. This setting appears to be a group of timeshares set on a golfcourse, but heaps of activities. I highly recommend this location for couples with children up to ages 16. Number of restaurants nearby. Ocean within walking distance.
Review 26:They now charge for providing towels and cleaning pack. I asked for ashower hook to be installed up high as it was down too low and theyfailed to do this.
Review 27:The golf course and the village area and swimming pool
Review 28:no bar at the pool plus there was no alcohol allowed to be consumed at the pool. i'm not a big drinker but on my holidays i would love to relax with a cocktail. very disappointed and there was no music very quiet and very boring. we normally love the pool area but it was to quiet. everything is closed from 1 until 4. plus very very expensive. the bakery also sold nothing and what it did sell had wasps flying on them. also no mop in the room.
Review 29:beautiful view over the harbour lovely crepe restaurant. kids loved the slides and my son loved the golf course but it was very expensive. warm pool.
Review 30:the bed was a little too hard
