Reviews for Limekilns Hotel and Bistro

Review 1:This is a family ran establishment and you can tell.... nothing is too much trouble and the Father and Daughter team will go out of their way to make you welcome. The food is first class and there is a nice little pub down the road for the post evening meal relaxation before returning to a very large and beautiful room at the hotel.

Review 2:The location and general ambience of the place were very good and the staff were really warm and friendly. Probably however, The Limekilns Hotel and Bistro's finest attribute is in its good honest value for money.

Review 3:There was nothing we didn't like.

Review 4:Personal service. Everything clean and fresh. Unusual, unique decor (Italian touch) Lovely food and plenty of it. Breakfast in particular was very good - such a lot of fresh fruit available. Hosts very helpful and interested in reasons for staying, provided us with lots of information about the local area.

Review 5:shower could be better, food was hit and miss, some good some not so good (had dinner as well as it is a bistro)

Review 11:An older shower that took some time to set the temperature. Once set it was powerful enough but quite noisy.

Review 12:An excellent location. The owners are very friendly & will do anything to ensure you enjoy your stay. Room was large & clean. The decor is slight dated but this didn't detract from a very relaxing stay.

Review 13:I liked the owners who were courteous and friendly, the food was good, the location is good for touring round and the views of the Firth are pleasing.

Review 14:Internet did not work Booked room for two people and only got towels for one person Room not cleaned properly , items left under the bed from previous residents Early morning call asked for not given , hence late for breakfast and departure Staff very aggressive demanding and pestering for money even though we had already paid . Harassing us in the room and in the hall for ' extra ' money . Even when staff told about towel shortage they ignored request . Check out time not stated on web page or in the hotel

Review 15:There was nothing to dislike.

Review 23:Absolutely great value for money. Excellent food, top quality accommodation / facilities and all set in a wonderful location. Easy & free parking nearby. Will definitely return in the future.

Review 24:Just a few minutes from junction 1 of the M90 made this a great a base to go to Lochgelly for a Ford car show. The room was very comfortable with a lovely view and the very tasty breakfast was served at a time to suit us. (The homemade bread is wonderful). The food in the attached Bistro is highly recommended. (try a Highland Fling for dessert!)

Review 25:minor irritant was lack of power in the shower.I guess this was just down to water pressure..otherwise no complaints at all

Review 26:location was ideal for us. Room clean with great views. food in the attached Bistro was good quality with excellent service. Breakfast freshly cooked and tasty

Review 27:My stay at the Limekilns Hotel and Bistro was excellent! The family owns the hotel and the restaurant and run both of them very well. The village is small and pretty and I was given a room which overlooked the water and the view was spectacular. I had dinner at the Bistro both evenings and the food was fresh and good. At breakfast, I was given several options and everything was cooked to order. They offered suggestions and help for my time in town, as well as the rest of my trip. I would highly recommend the Limekilns Hotel and Bistro and hope to return to visit them often!
