Reviews for Peninsula Resort & Spa

Review 1:Although it wasn't a long stay, we were very happy with the hotel. The view from the room was so beautiful and the room spacious. Also food was an unexpected surprise! Very tasty and there was a big variety. We want to return in summer!

Review 2:dont come here for the food - not money for value at all. all-inclusive for a family of four cost 160 EURO and the food is not to the basic buffet standard at all. We have stayed in other 4 stars for much less and the food is much better. they only had 3-4 mains and 3-4 desert to choose from. and there is no live cooking as they claimed. Mini club is not run either as they claimed. these are all the reasons why we have booked it. all in all, I would not recommend it.

Review 3:I had a lovely room with a great, panoramic view of the sea. The staff was very friendly. I had a very relaxing massage at the spa. Will definitely be visiting again for a longer, leisure holiday.

Review 4:The walk down to the beach and then back up again was a bit much (but still totally worth it)

Review 5:Absolutely stunning location, impeccable service with really friendly service staff and best of all, the clearest most beautiful sea down at the bottom of the hotel. The food looked delicious but I didn't really have the opportunity to indulge (1 night stay). Right now I am back in the UK and massively regretting booking only for one night.. Will come back next year for at least one week.

Review 6:The room experience was the most horrifying I have ever experienced. The constant clanging of dishes and nightly dish breakage was too much. I don't know if this was done on purpose or the dining staff was inexperienced but we all had headaches with 20 minutes. The pool bar blasted music from morning on. There was simply no peace at the hotel. This is not a hotel to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the natural surroundings. The jarring music reaches into every nook and cranny of the hotel. We once tried to find a spot on some loungers by a pool away from the main pool bar but the music is so loud it ruined our time. This is not a hotel for romance or relaxing.

Review 7:We loved the location although it is quite a hike up and down the stairs to get to the beach. Not recommended for the elderly. The food was OK nothing special and not very fresh. I saw a some fruit flies buzzing around the marmalade and the cut melon. The desserts were the only truly excellent food that was served. My room was spartan but the bed was nice. The view from most places in the hotel was amazing and spectacular however the music that blared from the pool bar prevented any sort of relaxation and enjoyment.

Review 8:You need to pay 2€/day for a sunbed or an umbrella near the sea. Very less toilets in commun places and none were functionals (impossible to look the door)

Review 9:Amazing view, very nice garden. Rooms totally painted in white what is peacefull.

Review 10:Angry some restaurant and cleaning staff, strong smell in room from kitchen above main level from 19.00 till late, and noisy. No free beach. Need pay for safe 2.50 euro per day. Repeated breakfast every day, no real juice in hotel only water+juppi.

Review 11:Вeautiful view from hotel, perfect weather. good food.

Review 12:We traveled with our 2 years daughter, she loved the hotel and staff. Even they played with my little one stop they busy time. Hotel is very clean and fantastic view from our room. We spend 7 days there would like to go back again.

Review 13:No wi-fi connection in room (although mentioned in hotel descriprion - acording hotel stuff "in whole area doesn't mean in room")

Review 14:Place is no much comfortable for families with little children which we very appreciated ;)

Review 15:The food wasn't very good. Personal was unfriendly. The sun beds at the hotel beach are not included. We had a power cut in our room, took 5 ours until we could use another room.

Review 16:Nice view from the room.

Review 17:lot of stairs, bathroom old and not comfortable. you don't have wifi in the rooms since they are under the main level.

Review 18:the hotel is nice and the position allows you to use it as a starting point. the building is located on a rock snd it's suggestive.

Review 19:Near the lower pool there is no bar. Have to pay €15 per week for a safe.

Review 20:A very a good location but many steps to go to the beach. Very disappointed that i had to pay €1 a day for towels and €2 for sunbeds per day. The rooms were ok, but have to be careful to not take rooms below reception level as they tend to smell of dampness. Overall very friendly and helpful staff, beautiful views and a good selection of tasty food. Entertainment was also good, something different everyday.

Review 21:Maybe new mattresses. Beds were a bit work out. Wifi in bed rooms would be good as I could not get that. Wifi in reception was ok.

Review 22:Location and staff. The private beach with hotel bar. Lovely weather and clear sea.

Review 23:Wifi was not always readily available.. Lot of french people arrived shortly before departure. Was a bit bothersome as all thought to address one in french.

Review 24:Everything.. Wifi could be imoroved

Review 25:Hotel is a bit old and food is average No wifi in the rooms and quite noisy for kids night until 11pm

Review 26:Goods swimming pools, staff and value for money (in case you take all inclusive)

Review 27:Shower wasn't great. Bathroom needs a renovation. Wifi would be good in rooms.

Review 28:Facilities were great. Staff very helpful. Always a variety of food to choose from, buffet style. Ocean views.

Review 29:The food was not appropriate to the price. Modest choice and almost always the same foods offered. Sometimes the food of the previous night was reproposed the next day in a different way. Moreover, i have booked and payed for a sea view room, but the sea view of my room was partially directed to the adjacent resort and partially covered by a lateral wall. Not exactly the sea view i expected.

Review 30:The staff was very friendly and the structure's location is amazing.

Review 31:Beds nor comfortable at all. Breakfast offering needs more variety - same same everyday !!!

Review 32:Well situated. Friendly staff and clean. Great for families travelling with Kids.

Review 33:-Mass-produced food was generally greasy and not great -Had to pay for pool towels! -Had to pay for loungers on the hotel's ocean-access cement deck -It's not exactly on a peninsula... our room faced another giant hotel across a small inlet -Too many families

Review 34:-Staff was very nice and helpful -Very cool cement deck on the ocean

Review 35:I travelled with a friend and we were shocked upon arrival at the hotel to discover that they were full and therefore needed to put us in alternative accommodation not on the map of the resort. We were allocated to some motel-like bungalows offsite. These bungalows were separate from the resort and were dark, dated, full of insects and with a shower that barely had more water pressure than a trickle of water. We were upgraded to all-inclusive and given a discount on our stay but this was of little consolation when on our last night a 3 inch cockroach was discovered in our bathroom. We insisted on being a given a new room on the resort and this request was granted.

Review 36:The location of the hotel is perfect. It has beautiful views, access to beaches and two different pools.

Review 37:Very strange manner of making beds, when a part of mattress is not covered by a sheet. We found a lot of stains in bedding. We also found food to be rather ordinary and unpalatable.

Review 38:Good location, good view from our balcony, and pleasantly calm water in the bay East of the hotel (rather unusual for windy Crete).

Review 39:The beds The fact that our wasn`t cleaned upon arrival (Saturday). No cleaning on Sundays - meaning we had to live in a dirty room for 2 nights The restaurant was, at best, average

Review 40:The location, the beach bar area and some of the staff

Review 41:We had "only" half-board and felt like "not veryincluded" in restaurant and bar area. This is a all inclusive hotel- "join this completely" or find another hotel. I've neverfancied buffet dinners ... this hotel did not make me change my mind.(When doing bbq meat&fish it was good, though) I do not fancy allinclusive hotels either, so thank God for the private driven"Stelios Taverna" at the beach close to the hotel.(that stillsurvives despite the lack of customers due to all-inclusive-passive-tourists...) Ice cream box after buffet dinner must be"manned" by adult staff... (My son got sick for two days!)

Review 42:Beautiful view from rooms The calm and nice pier-area with sun-chairs!

Review 43:There was a lot of wery laud music every night. No Wi-Fi. We did not getthe rooms we booked the first night. &Quot;Problems with thesystem" the receptionist explained.

Review 44:The view was fantastisk. The Beach was nice and our bungalow with tworooms and sea view was perfect.

Review 45:The hotel was far from the airport and the main city. There wasn't much to do outside of the resort unless you took a bus into town. However the bus pulls right up to the resort and runs hourly.

Review 46:This hotel is absolutely beautiful! Breathtaking views and three big pools. The views from the restaurant for dinner were amazing, and there was so much to see right at the resort.

Review 47:WIFI was almost non existent , computers were out of order at the time of our visit. food variety could be better.

Review 48:Location, Size if The room , staff ,mostly everything was great

Review 49:Bed was hard as a rock...and that was it.

Review 50:The place was amazing as was the views, breakfast and dinner buffets rocked my socks off. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Review 51:The internet was horrible, as in didn't work at all in the room and hardly worked in the lobby. I had the half board and the food was hideous.

Review 52:The location, the view, the decoration, the atmosphere, the extra sweetness of the front desk staff, the beach

Review 53:We never got the type of room we booked As a typical all inclusive hotel you feel very bad when you know that you have paid double or triple the amount that all other residents have paid through their group bookings Noisy place even on Sundays drills and grass cutting machines were up at 08:00am Very old buildings and accessories

Review 54:Kindness of staff Fascilities

Review 55:The location is very difficult to find, hotel should provide accurate postcode for navigation. The first room has a dead insect, but we were given a nice upgraded room straight away!

Review 56:Pools and food and the view! Didn't have time to try the beaches as the reception didn't emphasis that there are two beaches we can use。

Review 57:Many regulations in the restaurant for non-all inclissive client with high prices for the nothing. The swiming pool is "heated" -but only from the sun.(Not problem for the summer time but not good for the spring) The free internet work - but only outside from the room. Difficult to find parking place for the car.

Review 58:Nice island with friendly people. Kreta is one of the best choice to discover Greece.

Review 59:Wifi not good in the room but you can come to the lobby

Review 60:If you are looking for a quiet retreat this is the place, buffet is good, there is actually bus that comes to the hotel on certain times to take you to Heraklion, staff winderful

Review 61:The room was a little dark as only had one patio door for a window but the view made up for it. The evening animation/entertainment wasn't much so we listened to the nice live Greek music coming from the resort next door.

Review 62:The view was excellent from our balcony. We had half board (good value) which was great because we spent the days away from the hotel exploring the island. The hotel was very clean and staff accommodating. They had a cold plate for us on late arrival which was nice. Fish viewing from the cement platform was fun.

Review 63:We had an amazing time at Peninsula Hotel, the staff was really nice and helpful, the food was excellent, the bungalo apartment was very nice and with a beautiful view and the location was great!

Review 64:Beds.

Review 65:Staff were great, food was plenty and excellent. Bedrooms were spacious but beds were a bit hard to sleep on and we wished there was a cauch to just sit on and enjoy the great view of the peninsula. They have many pools. Overall a good place to enjoy vacation.

Review 66:We did not like evening events - everything was in french (even thought animation team had to speak english and french). Sometimes they served food prepaired one or two days before.

Review 67:The hotel is located on the hill next to the sea. The view was perfect. There were three beaches next to the hotel. One of them was the best compared to other region beaches. Rooms were cleaned every day.

Review 68:everything was amazing! friendly staff, very delicious food, beautiful views from everywhere, quiet rooms and also very clean and beautiful. we liked animation too. only good memories! 10 points from 10 :)

Review 69:Wi-fi useless no signal in 90 % of hotel area Every day same food in restaurant (except of BBQ at dinner time ) Animation and games in 99% in french or german language , english speaking people have no clue about games rules etc.

Review 70:Great place for staying area near hotel is amazing friendly staff

Review 71:Noise from hotel music system at extremelyd no smoking areas loud level clashing with a similar loud party music from the adjacent hotel. Too many steps.impossible for older people or for those with young children. No designated no smoking areas. Fumes everywhere in restaurant, pool, and seating areas. 50percent of sun loungers broken. No beach or pool towels supplied.food choice limited but ideal for vegetarians! Confirmed our late arrival and booking for bungalow with two double beds and had confirmation reply on day before arrival. Room booked was not available on arrival or for two days later. Finally got a free upgrade on 3rd night.Booking.com and hotel assumed 4 people staying (not a couple as stated) and charged accordingly. Need a car to go anywhere!

Review 72:Staff helpful and friendly.

Review 73:Location is superb. Food is great. Staff is extremely polite and helpful. Cheap drinks even if you don't have all inclusive. I thoroughly recommend!

Review 74:Wifi wasnt stable and tv had goofy channels so if your suck in your room bring entairtainment

Review 75:Took us a couple of days to see the whole property and its beautiful. Staff the friendliest! The beds are ok typical greek hard beds. Food wonderful buffets. Love the french dj at nights. The view was amazing

Review 76:too much italians and russians 25 km away from Heraklion, not suited for city visiting Sea bed for pay on near-see location (even for all inclusive plans)

Review 77:staff is kind and helpful very comfortable very nice view wonderful sea

Review 78:1. First of all.... the never ending stairs! All over the place! Nothing but stairs! We came there with a 18 months baby & we had to carry his stroller up and down every time!!! Our legs got cramps after a few hours there. At the total we had to climb hundreds of stairs. There is 1 tiny 1x1 meter elevator in the main building but that's it! The hotel is located on a cliff so if you want to go to the beach –a lot of stairs. You want to go to the pool - a lot of stairs Eat? The same stairs Lobby? The same…! 2. French guests. This hotel seems as a favorite French hotel. They are rude people who come early in the morning to grab all the chairs and the umbrellas by the pools! 3. All inclusive?! Think again. Be prepared to pay for almost everything.... The safe box in the room? 2.5 euro per day. Towel for the beach? 1 euro – and not deposit A chair at the beach? 2 euro A cocktail drink at the bar? 6 euro and more. 4. Air conditioning? Forget it! After climbing you way to the dining room or the lobby, you will be eating in a warm sauna. Everybody is dripping there with sweat. Disgusting. 5. Entertainment crew? HA! They only took care of the French kids . My son and daughter were very unhappy with that. The crew speaks French and acts as French. 6. FOOD - bacon everywhere! Bacon stew, bacon pie, bacon cobs, bacon pizza, bacon pasta! Never heard of chicken?! Very minimalistic opening hours of the restaurant, only 1.5 hours to eat lunch. Very poor variety of foods. Repetitive breakfast. Saw 2 cockroaches in the food area. If you want Coca-Cola in the morning? Forget it. Only orange juice, grapefruit, pineapple or water. 7. WIFI - only in the upper stage area. Low speed like a 3rd world hotel. Nonexistent elsewhere! Most important: If you want to enjoy your vacation don’t waste your money on this hotel.

Review 79:the sea view

Review 80:Not exactly cheap, food wasn't great but also not bad. So if you can accept that is a good option.

Review 81:The location is great, the view from the room or from restaurant, pool etc is terrific. Staff was excellent. Overall it was ok.

Review 82:The quality of the food: It lacked seasoning and was anonymous, like sticking your tongue out of the window. Another element, which turned out to be a stressful factor, was the concept with buffet at all meals with long queues to get food, a lot of noise and a very busy and not very friendly staff. The animation team´s high pitched efforts to get children and adults to participate in everything from water polo to salsa to dancing with clowns. You couldn´t really avoid being an unwilling part of it.

Review 83:Location: Beautiful view over the sea. Situated just by the beach it offered a good alternative to the swimming pools.

Review 84:The resort is really big and has something to offer for everyone, you can just chill by one of the two pools, you can go down by one of the two beaches. There are water games, aerobics, volleyball and bunch of other games going on all day long along with a beautiful tennis court free of charge if you prefer activities. Later in the evening a great animators crew is entertaining and involving you into different performances, dances, games, quizes and just making you smile and laugh all night long, it all tops up with a discotec. The stage and the dance floor is outdoors in a huge terrace on the top of very high rocks, the restaurant, that has all glass walls, as well, so no matter which part of the resort you are at you always enjoy a stunning view of a sea and hot sun. Hotel is beautiful, clean, has nice restaurant with good food, few very nice bars, has always ready to help staff.

Review 85:Entertainment part was annoying. It was target to French speaking audience only and there was loud music or amplified speech throughout the day. At night the dancing lasts till 12AM. Are people supposed to rest or to be in the middle of entertainment program, that no escape can be found from it. Also there's a shortage of parking place.

Review 86:The view, the meal, staff was very fiendly

Review 87:The hotel is on the side of a mountain, there are many rooms that need a great walking and climbing to reach them Not all rooms are renovated but there are plans to renovate the hotel rooms wifi onley close to the lobby

Review 88:The hotel gives great value for investment, the food is excellent, not like clubs in Turkey but good quality and a good selection. The facilities are excellent and there are a lot of activities for adults and children.

Review 89:all the meals were really very poor from not tastefull to disgusting flies were on the food at the buffet

Review 90:we had a very nice room above the reception the swimming pools with nice view and the small beach with the beach bar

Review 91:Our room was very cramped and bare bones in terms of decor. We booked a triple room and it was very small with the third bed a few feet away from the double. Realize if it is for 3 people it will be tight. A real bugaboo was that the toilet never flushed all the way. It was a push type newer toilet that just did not function properly. We ended up using the bathroom by the restaurant most of the time. Horrible pop music blasting through the dining room speakers. Wonder why on earth this hotel does not play beautiful soothing Greek music. People come to Greece to hear Greek music.

Review 92:The views are truly spectacular. We loved the hotel lobby. It is unique and has such a sumptuous and relaxing vibe. The decor is like something out of an architectural digest. The grounds in general are impeccably maintained and are truly gorgeous. The salads at dinner were great and we loaded our plates up. The hot entrees were what you would find at a basic 3 star. The desserts were nothing to write home about and the breakfast food was so-so. The Peninsula is a very clean hotel with beautiful and interesting beaches (Psaromoura beach offers true beauty).

Review 93:Comfortable and clean room with a great view! Enjoyed the food and had a very relaxing day.

Review 94:Terrible food and staff with bad manners.

Review 95:Great view

Review 96:The conection to the city is uncomfortable and expensive

Review 97:The hotel is ok

Review 98:Food was always cold, poor drinks and lack of wifi in rooms.

Review 99:Amazing views, nice rooms and staff. Generally great! but..

Review 100:Excellent overall value for money, amazing location and views, outstanding facilities and very friendly staff, great food

Review 101:french animators, not so good wifi

Review 102:Food , place, view

Review 103:The food was very tasty

Review 104:The spring roll that was provided in breakfast.

Review 105:no wifi in the room old bathroom

Review 106:Wonderful sea view

Review 107:The views from all parts of the hotel were fantastic with easy access to the beach and bathing platform.

Review 108:Cocktails weren't great!

Review 109:Helpful friendly staff Good food and wine and beer fine

Review 110:The food was repetitive and low quality. You have to pay extra for sunbeds at the sea. Evening program was only in french.

Review 111:Wonderful resort with great views and fantastic meals. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Review 112:The stairs, there should be another alternative to get to and from the beaches.

Review 113:The complex itself and the staff

Review 114:More sunbeds and Umbrellas are required

Review 115:Very good place to stay , all aspects are good , whether stay you only stay for 1 night or a month

Review 116:Hard bed Food not hot enough

Review 117:Location

Review 118:Super sea view

Review 119:Quite hard to find Hotel 1st time. All streets in Crete have the samename in Navigator: "UNNAMED ROAD" :)

Review 120:View. Hotel. Food.

Review 121:Food and bed :(

Review 122:Very nice personal :) beautiful view , nice swimming pool with seawater.

Review 123:There are no comments available for this review

Review 124:wifi was a bit slow, but we were on holiday, so we didn't care that much

Review 125:Everything is a plus. Staff friendly and more than efficient.

Review 126:Food and bed could be better..

Review 127:Amazing view, huge pools, kind staff.

Review 128:the food became a bit repetitive for the last days, but still was okay

Review 129:the hotel is really close to the beach with beautiful view

Review 130:The buffet, the view, the place, the animation...

Review 131:Wifi connection was not strong enough to do basis internet things.

Review 132:The food was amazingly good
