Reviews for Kintore Arms Hotel ‘A Bespoke Hotel’

Review 1:I had to cancel my trip to see my granddaughter for her birthday. Due to her other granddad being critically ill in a hospital in Birmingham. I informed the hotel that we could not travel to see her as they had all travelled down to Birmingham .I kept the hotel informed, but they said we can not give you a refund. I said please keep the money as we would rebook at a later date, again they said no.

Review 2:We were in Inverurie for a funeral and the staff were very friendly and nothing was any trouble. We had dinner and breakfast in the hotel and the food was lovely

Review 3:The Kintore Arms Hotel provides an excellent touring base for the Aberdeenshire coast and county. Located in the town of Inverurie it provided the ideal venue for a country weekend. The staff were charming and exceptionally helpful, dinner and breakfast were tailored to taste and the stay was good value for money.

Review 4:Room 27 was not big enough for 2 adults. There was a desk and stool in that took up a lot of the space.

Review 5:Number 10 room was excellent for our daughter and her 1 year old baby.

Review 6:Useless shower.. you have to run around to get wet! Loose tiles around bath. Energy saving bulbs make room very dim until thy have warmed up and even then the lighting is poor. No light on desk. .

Review 7:Friendly staff. Easy parking. Comfortable room but very little room on desk.

Review 8:David and his staff were very polite, friendly and customer service focussed. The meals were excellent and the accommodation we had was very comfortable. I would definitely have no hesitation to booking there again.

Review 9:We were disappointed in the power of the shower, but we're glad of shelves to place toiletries on.

Review 10:We had a lovely room, large and well-fitted. The bathroom shower lacked enough power and woodwork was in need of refreshing. On the whole we were quite pleased.

Review 11:The town shuts at 10.00pm, there's no food to be had, the only town I know where all the Restaurants, chip shops and even the Indian and Chinese take-aways, Domino Pizzas closed even earlier? The town and pubs were busy, you could settle for crisps or pork scratchins?

Review 12:Comfortable hotel with friendly staff

Review 13:The staff were very helpful so no issues there. The hotel, does require some updating as the rooms are a bit dated. Basically it was the location which interested me as it was central to my activities.

Review 14:The staff were extremely abrupt and it would help if they smiled a bit more! The rooms were clean but the hotel needs modernised. The hotel is very tired and needs renovated. There was also no atmosphere in the place

Review 15:The location was good and a lovely place to visit

Review 16:The hotel though lovely needs to be upgraded throughout. It's a shame that the company lets the staff down.

Review 17:The staff were very friendly and very knowledgable. The location was excellent as you could walk everywhere.

Review 18:Shower went cold during showering, no cold water to bath also breakfast only served from 7 till 9 during week which was early when on school holidays most hotels we have stayed in was till 10. family room at back hotel very noisy in morning from 6 from staff cleaning up emptying glass bottles etc.

Review 19:Bed very comfy Staff really friendly and helpful good food.

Review 20:The room was extremely small, very cramped and badly laid out. There was a lamp fitted to the wall above the right hand side of the bed which meant that you couldn't sit under it to read or watch TV. It got in the way every time you got in and out of bed (you couldn't get out the other side as it was up against the wall). It was bizarre! The bathroom and shower needed a good clean (lots of mould). The room had low energy light bulbs, which is fine, except that these never warmed up. The bathroom was in semi darkness, which made shaving a challenge! All in all, whilst the food and waiting staff were good, this was very poor value for money and not worth the £80 charged. It was more pokey than bespoke!

Review 21:The food was good and staff helpful.

Review 22:The shower had a very low water pressure would have been useless if you were in a hurry. The room certainly needs updating quite dark and dingy

Review 23:Location was good for going out at night.

Review 24:The whole place I feel was in need of updating. Squeaky floorboards, bathroom was quite battered. Wall sockets loose as well as other fixings.

Review 25:Friendly staff, ease of access. Did the job for what we needed it for.

Review 26:You could not relax in the bedroom as the seats were wooden chairs that you would put at a dining table. The outside is tired looking and no seating outside for guests or no where for smokers except at front door close to footpath.

Review 27:Very noisy & busy road with no double glazing. Room very tired, almost shabby, threadbare carpets on the stairs. Not worth the money.

Review 28:All staff were very friendly and helpful.

Review 29:Small room for the price, no lift, poor soundproofing from party going on downstairs, restricted to shower cubicle and no grab rails, front car-park had potholes.

Review 30:Very helpful staff and good food.

Review 31:The room was very warm. I could not find the reason. However the room was provided with a room fan.

Review 32:The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food in the restaurant was good.

Review 33:The room was no more than a cupboard and totally inadequate with no window. A loud function in the room below prevented any sleep before midnight. The charge was far to much for what was offered

Review 34:we deaf play bowling at Kemnay BC SDBA Final tournaments on Saturday. on Sunday selected players play at Kintore BC. Enjoy Breakfast at kintore Arms Hotel .

Review 35:We would have preferred a room with a window we could see out of, we had a skylight window which was a bit claustrophobic and as we booked well in advance we would have preferred a window room.

Review 36:The breakfast was very nice as was the facilities.

Review 37:'Executive Room' had no soap infact Hotel had no soap through late delivery. Key Card failed on day #2.

Review 38:The Kintore Arms Hotel provides an excellent touring base for the Area. Located in the quiet town of Inverurie it provided the ideal venue for an activity weekend. The breakfast was tailored to taste.

Review 39:No Wifi. A banging fire door along the corridor needs sorting. Also we could quite clearly hear the occupants next door talk, use their TV and hair dryer. The locked connecting door needs some sound proofing to maintain privacy

Review 40:Comfortable accomodation in nice surroundings easily accessible for the Town Centre. Staff also on the whole very friendly and helpful.

Review 41:Poor wi-fi, didn't work at all in the morning. Top of duvet was dirty with hair on it. Room was decorated as cheaply as possible, like a portakabin. Skylight blind wouldn't work so had to sleep in broad daylight. TV had sound but no picture. Was given the wrong time for breakfast by receptionist, so chef had to make me something after hours. A rip-off, even at Booking.com discount price of £80.

Review 42:Decent sized car park. Understanding chef.

Review 43:The hotel is far from 'bespoke',very tired and dated. The room we were in(9) was shoddy, the furniture was grubby and worn corners of the chair was all frayed, sockets unsafe as the shower was just a trickle then went off totally. Breakfast was fairly average.would not recommend it to my worst enemy.

Review 44:Staff pleasant, bed was comfy , not any other redeeming features i'm sad to say.

Review 45:My room was small with drafts windows. Was very noisy as on the main road. The bathroom was poor the shower needed replacing, if you empty water from the sink it came up into the shower sometimes dirty water!!! The toilet was a Saniflow which was very noisy (only for a few seconds) but during the night it was not pleasant, & finally the bathroom smelt damp!!!!!

Review 46:Location, large car park. The food in the restaurant was very good as were the staff in the restaurant.

Review 47:Friendly and helpful .did everything from help up and down the stairs to giving me a sanitary bin for my stoma bags .going bk with the rest of my family for a holiday and wedding .Thanks sooooooo much .

Review 48:Showers are appalling alternating between boiling hot and freezing cold no matter what the setting. Turning on the fan or flushing the toilet produces a noise similar to an air siren. Totally over priced and outdated.

Review 49:Room was like a sauna and had to have a fan running all night which was far from ideal. Shower was awful and also a function that was on one night was very loud and did not get a great sleep at all. On check out at 6am there was no one to talk to re my stay. Gent who was there seemed like night staff, he was pleasant.

Review 50:Thought our room would be done housemaid asked if we needed anything got half off what we said no room cleaned unusual if you have to say you want bed made

Review 51:Enjoyed my stay and location was good. Great hours for food and excellent. Staff were very welcoming. Great value for the cost

Review 52:Didn't like not having a shower available in the room there also was noise from function room a bit more soundproofing would be good

Review 53:The hotel is well located and had free wifi, good comfortable bed staff were helpful and friendly

Review 54:absolutely nothing to complain about would stay again the next time we are area if rooms available

Review 55:staff were very nice . food was served hot and quickly.the room was clean and comfortable, and skylight blind was simple to close with remote ,even for a o.a. p.with little knowledge of modern gadgets/

Review 56:my room was directly over a wedding reception and vibrated from the noise of the band. I hadn't been warned about this but it stopped at midnight. Perhaps rooms like this should have a lesser charge when there is a wedding.

Review 57:lovely dining room

Review 58:There was a wedding on in the function suite and the music from the party was pretty loud in our room. Wifi was a very weak signal and almost impossible to connect except in the breakfast room.

Review 59:Good breakfast selection, pleasant staff, room was nice and clean, warm and comfortable.

Review 60:Tiny Room, bed on wheels that slipped away from the wall everytime you pushed against the headboard to re position yourself. Guests with barking dog/s in neighbouring room.

Review 61:It was clean

Review 62:At £80 for a single bed in an old fashioned room, it was well over priced. There were hairs in the bath and the shower was poor. A banging noise from pipes all night wasn't great for sleep. I wouldn't go back!

Review 63:The staff were really friendly and helpful. The food was good.

Review 64:Room was very small for family and had to ask for couple chairs to sit on as only place to sit was on the bed. Tiles were falling off wall in bath and very limited place to hang clothes no wardrobe just hanging rail .

Review 65:We visited places but had to travel quite a distance. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bed was very comfy. food was good.

Review 66:The staff were extremely helpful. We had a problem with the toilet in the room we were assigned but the night porter sorted it out immediately (we were offered the use of another room without any quibbling). The breakfast was great, fantastic vegetarian option available.

Review 67:really small room, sat up in bed and bumped into bed light and I am not quite five foot tall. Shower was a miserable trickly as it and taps had no pressure . overall disappointing for cost.

Review 68:lovley helpful staff and great breakfast.

Review 69:function suite toilet door and hand drier were below room 25 n made a noise into the early hours due to a birthday party being held. Did inform staff on departure who said they would look into it.

Review 70:comfy room, nice dinner and breakfast, very pleasant staff

Review 71:The Sunday night carvery, all the meats were dried up by 6:30pm and the vegetables were over cooked

Review 72:Breakfast served early and has a good selection of both cooked and cold food. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

Review 73:poor wifi, no telephone in room, tv remote didn't work, noisy room next to fire doors that slammed close everytime someone passed through.

Review 74:it was warm on the coldest day/night of the year. Breakfast was excellent

Review 75:It's shame not to be connected WI FI ( I HAVE I PHONE , I PAD, BLACKBERY PHONE AND TABLET) but neither of them had sufficient signal to open any Internet page, to send e- mail from the room.

Review 76:Staff attitude, poor level of service. Room was way to hot and no way to open the window. Bar closed at 11.45pm and was to go down town if we required another drink even though we were staying in the hotel. shall i go on ?

Review 77:Nice carvery

Review 78:The chair in the room was very shabby. The room (14) could benefit from double-glazing. And the breakfast bacon could be crispier.

Review 79:The welcoming atmosphere and the helpful staff. The safe parking and convenient location. Breakfast is excellent.

Review 80:breakfast from a deep fat fryer.stick to the cereal and toast bar had 5 beer taps but 2 were off not a lot of selection for a bar

Review 81:happy staff clean room we ate at via Roma

Review 82:Traffic noise, internal noise(maybe heating or pipes) cleaners start at 7.30 right outside the room. Very old and tired hotel. Towels old, shower had mould in grouting and whole bathroom needed a makeover. Needed new carpet.

Review 83:Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bed was very comfortable. Very close to everything.

Review 84:Room would benefit from having a chair in it. During our visit there was a lot of intermittent noise from the plumbing (I think 'water hammer' is the term) No doubt that will be sorted quickly. Some problems with shower in bathroom -- difficult to get temp regulated -- sometimes too hot next cold. Tricky to balance.

Review 85:Pleasant cheerful staff - who always appeared to have a smile for guests, and willing to chat about things.Room was quiet - away from traffic noise. whole building had a warm friendly feel to it.

Review 86:Creaky floors and noisy plumbing. The latter discovered late at night. Needs a little TLC!

Review 87:Centre of town location. Friendly reception, bar and housekeeping staff. Cosy bar.

Review 88:The windows in the rooms could do with double glazing, as the rattle when it is windy and you can hear the traffic up an down during the night.

Review 89:We came up to see our Daughter and her family, so the Hotel was not from from where she lived,

Review 90:Food was of variable quality. Room was exceptionally hot, and though I complained, over two nights the matter was not rectified.

Review 91:Staff were extremely helpful and cheerful.

Review 92:This is the worst hotel,I've ever stayed in. Dull dingy old fashioned , in desperate need of a refurb. I'm actually embarrassed that tourist were staying at this hotel. Not the impression we should be giving to visitors.it made the Bates Motel look like a 5 star hotel . everything is done on the cheap, cheap paper napkins and table runners. Shocking for the money they charge but the hotel, was full so they obviously don't think they have to invest. It's,in a good location close to Aberdeen this is obviously why it's full certainly nothing to do with the drab, dreary . Truly awful

Review 93:The only positives, are the friendly staff and the food was nice

Review 94:Having looked at the hotel menu We booked for dinner, bed and breakfast . However when we arrived for dinner it was actually a self service carvery and not the a la carte meal we expected. I think clarification in that respect could be helpful. Staff were also not aware we were booked for dinner and produced a bill for payment at our table.

Review 95:Room was very comfortable . Breakfast was lovely . Staff were welcoming.

Review 96:The décor is a little tired and is in need of a bit of TLC.

Review 97:The food selection and quality was excellent. The staff were all very friendly and very helpful.

Review 98:Carpets in the room were very dirty and didn't feel I could walk on them in bare feet. At almost £90 per night, not value for money and feel takes advantage of the fact that there is very little competition in the surrounding areas.

Review 99:Food was OK.

Review 100:My bedroom was not well coming and comfortable it was a single room with a very uncomfortable bed pushed against a wall, every time flushed toilet or ran bath or shower heard all rumblings of the plumbing afterwards.

Review 101:Location of hotel lots of good memories as used it in past

Review 102:I missed having a mirror at the dressing table. Room was very small compared to other rooms but not such a problem for just two nights. No need for the fire in the summer. Guests opted for breakfast at a table far away from the fire. On the evening we had dinner it took an unacceptable amount of time for the main course to arrive, however the food was excellent.

Review 103:Everything that is needed is in the bathroom and bedroom. Bed extremely comfortable. Skylight was different but good it could be opened and blind closed by remote control. Plenty of coat hangers and towels. The staff were very nice, accommodating and couldn't do enough for you. Breakfast was very nice and everything there to choose from.

Review 104:Noisy toilet and room 17 had no shower - just a handheld over the bath.

Review 105:staff were excellent and couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable. Food was lovely and very reasonable.

Review 106:Room door could not open fully for bed. Even wardrobe had no doors Wall paper hanging off in bed room and en suite Toilet cistern filled with blue disinfectant Carpets to and from room thread bare Had to make 1/2 my own breakfast order Wallpaper hanging off room in dinning room Charged £108 for one night B&B £45-£50 would be a fairer reflection. Equipment at reception did not work - photocopier Will never book either myself nor any of my staff into a bespoke hotel ever again.

Review 107:Nothing

Review 108:Facilities were very tired. The staff seemed not to care or were overwhelmed by doing the simplest of tasks. There was no shower in our bathroom, only a bath.

Review 109:Locating was quite convenient.

Review 110:Single room rate expensive Furnishings cheap/shabby & bathroom needed regrouting at least. Looked as though had invested more in double rooms.

Review 111:Ease of booking Availability on date required Helpful staff Good breakfast

Review 112:Like town hotels, functions take place and on the Saturday night we stayed, there was a couple of drunken women making a lot of noise outside and above our bedroom. It went on quite a long time. Also the floors are very squeaky which interferes with sleep

Review 113:Friendly staff and location was central

Review 114:Family room was required for 2 adults and 2 children but only 1 single bed and 1 double bed, no milk and tea bags beside kettle

Review 115:Reasonably spacious family room clean tidy

Review 116:8oz steak, was ment to be well done, came half raw, returned it,it came back brick hard...couldn't eat it,totall waste of £18,got a steak the next day when travelling home,(12oz)£9.50 and it was perfect...big difference in price!!!!!!!

Review 117:The hotel was very out dated. Everything in the room was and hotel (guest house) was outdated and very dark (back to the 80's). Old wall paper had just been painted over. Carpets very old. Each time I flushed the toilet it made a very load noise. Needs Alex `The Hotel Inspector´ to work her magic! I rang a few times, but never got an answer. But I did get an answer back from by email. When booking via booking.com I added a message as I needed some information about how to get back to the airport at 6am the next morning (bus/train etc). But the hotel never got that message they said.

Review 118:Tiny shower cubicle. Noise from toilet and showers when used in other rooms. Room very hot tho exceptionally hot weather but fans could have been made available.

Review 119:Breakfasts very good. Location of hotel.

Review 120:Towels lying on bathroom floor when we arrived. We did not know if they had been used by the previous occupants, but they were very soon removed by the staff. That did leave us with no hand towels.

Review 121:Comfortable room with all necessary facilities. Excellent food - carvery. Flashing light bulb in bathroom changed very quickly by staff.

Review 122:There was no facility to sit outside (we had glorious weather). We were informed that there was no licence for a beer garden but just an area to sit in is all that's required. The bedroom was stifling hot even with the fan on all the time (glad I don't pay electricity bill). The only place to sit is in the bar and that stopped serving at 10.45pm ON THE DOT!!

Review 123:The staff were excellent and the breakfast was lovely.

Review 124:This is a warm and welcoming hotel with friendly, helpful staff and a homely atmosphere. It is situated in a beautiful area in the charming town of Inverurie close to lovely river walks.

Review 125:Room was without a window, only a high skylight which had remained uncovered all the very hot day. The room was like an oven and even a fan did not cool it adequately. There was a real problem with non-functioning key cards, and I had multiple cards which worked only once. Room was on 2nd floor, no lift. Wifi functioned only in bar which was small and dining room. Some staff members seemed rather unconcerned. There was a leak from the foyer ceiling into a bucket in the morning. I didn't stay for breakfast.

Review 126:Individual staff members were very helpful.

Review 127:The hotel both inside an out could do with a fresh coat of paint

Review 128:Location excellent for some really lovely independent shops. Hotel really clean and the staff were all really great.

Review 129:nowt

Review 130:plenty free parking, comfy bed, clean room

Review 131:all was fine

Review 132:good basic hotel all I required

Review 133:Hotel is jaded and badly in need of refurbishment. Poor wifi.

Review 134:Nice breakfast

The Fine Print

Please note that there is no elevator at the property and all rooms are above the ground floor.
