Reviews for Manor House Inn
Review 1:An Inn with an historic scent, but very modern facilities. We very much enjoyed the hospitality from the new inn keeper and the quality of the food, for dinner and breakfast.
Review 2:Internet connection non existent although this may be due to the refurbish work going on
Review 3:Beautifully clean everywhere. Staff were so helpful and friendly, the couldn't do enough to help.
Review 4:Too many cushions on the beds!
Review 5:Welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. Lovely meals in relaxing informal bar area. Comfortable beds, brilliant shower room.
Review 6:Bedroom was dusty on skirting boards Some of the 'shabby chic' furniture was a little too shabby No wifi or mobile signal in room
Review 7:Very friendly and welcoming staff - excellent breakfast. Fab bathroom and shower
Review 8:Bed mattress was truly worn out (not by us, I might add); broadband said to be intermittent but actually not working
Review 9:Lovely old building in small village in the countryside, lots of parking, new manager and his wife trying very hard to settle in and provide an excellent service. Dinner was good with an excellent fillet steak and breakfast also good.
Review 10:only thing was they aren't geared up for you having to make an early start in the morning - staff don't arrive till 8am but they were great when they did arrive.
Review 11:very warm and welcoming. Lovely room - clean and very comfortable
Review 12:We were in a very spacious suite situated above the bar and there was precious little sound barrier between the two. Fortunately we didn't go up from dinner until after 11.00 but even then, the last customers didn't leave until well after 12.00. Without the benefit of a nice dinner, I doubt whether we would have been able to get to sleep until after 12.00.
Review 13:The restaurant served an excellent supper with some good wines. Breakfast was OK but needs a little more attention to detail.
Review 14:It was directly over the bar so it was very noisy. The bathroom was full of little black flies. The windows were rubbish and let in all the outside noise.
Review 15:The room/suite had 2 rooms
Review 16:Wifi intermittent- but to be expected in a period property in the countryside!
Review 17:Beautiful ensuite room: charming decor, luxury bathroom. Great vibe in bar/restaurant downstairs, busy with guests and locals alike. We chanced upon a halloween party downstairs on our second night- the staff got into the spirit of things with costumes and decorations. The owners are friendly and welcoming- great sightseeing tips from the kids too! If you want a relaxing stay in beautiful countryside with good food and lively evenings in the bar then this is the place for you!
Review 18:Could do with some information in the rooms about breakfast timing and maybe put a menu and also some ideas of locations nearby to visit
Review 19:Lovely hotel beautiful little village and lovely food in the pub
Review 20:Only criticism was the noise from the pub downstairs was very loud and made it difficult to sleep. Had to use earplugs.
Review 21:Lovely rooms with friendly staff and good food.
Review 22:One room bed too soft, other stay bed too hard. Being picky now but the remote for the TV was absolutely in need of a clean, all sticky and rather unpleasant to touch. My preference goes out to the rooms in the old stables as they are less cramped. The room 4 above the kitchen does get occasional noise from what I think is the kitchen fan system. Also this room is maybe not ideal for 'taller' people... But hey it is a old pub!
Review 23:Very friendly and welcoming staff. Lovely pub with great food and a great Sunday lunch and dinner menu for a very reasonable price. Breakfast is very nice although start at 8.00 a bit late and no possibility to check out beforehand. If you need to leave early I would advise to settle the bill the previous evening. Breakfast a lot of egg options but limited it you don't feel like this and want a lighter option like yoghurts and fruit.
Review 24:Virtually no phone signal, very limited WIFI, breakfast not served until 8am making it harder to get away and get to client at the desired time.
Review 25:Quiet room, lovely shower room, nice location, good breakfast, new hosts very friendly and helpful.
Review 26:I stayed in the mews room which was excellent, plenty of parking, free WiFi and lovely food. The first of the two nights I stayed was Steak night, the second night was Thai night, both meals were excellent and great vale for money.
Review 27:Staff very friendly and welcoming we had an amazing stay. We will deffinatley be back. Breakfast was cooked to perfection. Particularly enjoyed Wednesday's Thai night.
Review 28:Being woken at 5.30am by milk tankers driving through village to a local dairy
Review 29:Very nice location in pretty village stayed in quirky room NO 4 in the Inn, lovely modern bathroom, very clean& bright. Loved shutters on windows in room, made room nice & dark at night. All staff very friendly & helpful,l breakfast was excellent.
Review 30:Lovely venue with very friendly and helpful staff. Clean, comfortable and very close to bath and west show ground. Watching beautiful race horses out exercising whilst eating our early breakfast a treat.
Review 31:We stayed in one of the outside rooms and in the morning there wasn't enough hot water so I had a cold shower. Not what I had anticipated.
Review 32:The manager was very friendly but he did know that sometimes there were problems with the hot water.
Review 33:The bed was extremely soft (a staff member said that they would not be able to sleep on it). I spent the second night on the floor. As there were no vacancies I could not change room until my third and final evening. Also the TV did not work in the room and Wifi signal was weak. In the room on the final night the bed was comfortable, the TV worked but no wifi coverage.
Review 34:Good location, easy parking, very clean, good breakfast, pleasant staff.
Review 35:Shower drained away slowly Poor Wifi signal in the room
Review 36:Helpful staff, good location for New Wine, a Christian conference at the Bath & West Show ground
Review 37:Very pleasant and helpful staff, beautiful clean room, The food served was totally amazing (evening meal was from the a la carte menu). Well worth the stay, Looking forward to staying again.
Review 38:Comfy bed, modern bathroom, fabulous breakfast and dinner. Lovely quiet location and last but not least friendly staff, especially Tom who made us very welcome. Would definitely return.
Review 39:Be aware that it is a pub, therefore in summer people will be enjoying a drink in the garden, with associated noise. Not a big problem, but worth knowing.
Review 40:Very comfortable room in a lovely village pub, well located for touring the Somerset levels and Mendips. Staff were friendly and very efficient.
Review 41:The mattress was too big for the frame resulting in a 'coming together' and a restless sleep.
Review 42:The food was of a very high standard and reasonably priced. The room was clean and well appointed.
Review 43:A chair in the bedroom would have been helpful.
Review 44:Relaxed evening atmosphere over supper. Pleasant, helpful evening staff. Very good, clean accommodation, notably the modern shower room.
Review 45:Nothing.
Review 46:Lovely, authentic olde worlde pub in pretty village. Very comfortable, thoughtfully decorated room with large modern bathroom. The food was incredibly good, quite the best 'pub food' I've ever had. Really tasty, interesting menu. Excellent omelette for breakfast too. Hope get chance to stay again :)
Review 47:The character of the hotel and friendliness of the staff. Spotless stylish accommodation and fabulous meals. We were very impressed. Even the weather was kind for early february
Review 48:All good, except maybe a fruit juice to start breakfast would have been good
Review 49:Lovely room, very recently renovated. Very good fillet steak on steak night [monday] Very good english breakfast - great flavour to all items
Review 50:Cant say there was anything that I didnt like.
Review 51:This was a very friendly and comfortable place, the staff were brilliant and very helpful. They went above and beyond there duties asking for directions they actually printed off the details without being asked. Couldnt ask for better service than that.
Review 52:Pretty slow wifi due to rural location, but hey, we should wean ourselves off of these things! Not really a problem at all, just an observation.
Review 53:Loved the warmth and hospitality of staff, the food was the nicest pub food I have ever had. Very good chef. So clean and also stylish and I will be heading back as soon as I can. Thank you to all the team.
Review 54:beds were clean, rest of room needed tlc,( we were in the converted stables) tables at breakfast were not cleaned from previous night. candle wax all over! all in all expected better.
Review 55:convenient for the area we wished to visit good food
Review 56:The Beds. Poorly sprung, single layer of cheap mattress on slats. Noise. I know it's a pub, but our room was above the bar, we could hear everything coming up from below & I mean everything. I could have shouted at the floor and joined in the conversation. This carried on until at least midnight On the bowls night you could hear the ball being bowled & when they had a strike all hell broke loose, more noise than a darts match but the same celebration tune. On the last night someone decided to move the furniture about in the bar at one thirty in the morning - NOT GOOD. Apart from that it was fine
Review 57:Nice pub & people. Good breakfast.
Review 58:Great village location. Superior room in main house was lovely. Large room, clean, bright and airy. Wonderful shower in large contemporary en-suite room- would love one of these at home. Friendly staff. Good Food. On-site parking.
Review 59:Bathroom smelled very damp. Consistency between the chefs was a bit confusing. - Haddock and poached eggs was good both days but very differently presented
Review 60:Very friendly and accommodating, menu was good and they allowed me to mix and match my evening meal. Quiz night was really great fun.
Review 61:Very good service with lovely breakfast and a clean comfortable room. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Special thanks to Assistant Manager Chris.
Review 62:The bed is very comfortable but is a little low for us and was a bit difficult to rise in the morning
Review 63:Located in quiet village with very peaceful atmosphere. Friendly efficient and helpful staff. A great place to relax and recharge batteries on tour of UK.
Review 64:Manor House as is is mainly a pub, not so much a hotel Parking lot is used as a public paking, too close to the rooms, which gives noise into the night, bed too narrow, room too hot, no airco.
Review 65:Location Staff
