Reviews for Bendigo Bush Cabins
Review 1:The location next to the Bush Pig Inn was great, as there was easy access to a nice meal and a drink. The manager is terrific, very welcoming and a really nice bloke who spent time with us over dinner.
Review 2:Since it's somewhat in the bush, there are heaps of insects outside at night, but that's to be expected so not really a negative.
Review 3:Nice and quiet location. Cabins were clean and comfortable.
Review 4:Nothing
Review 5:Room was very clean, bed comfy and staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent value for money. Will definitely return and refer venue to my company and friends.
Review 6:A bit out of the way, nothing to do once we got there. Would only have booked because of my brother's party next door.
Review 7:Close to the Inn where my brother's 50th was held
Review 8:I was overcharged $67 because the person processing my booking thought I was someone else. He apologised, admitted his mistake and said the money would be refunded to my credit card. It is two weeks later and the money hasn't been refunded and my emails have not received a reply.
Review 9:Pleasant grounds; tidy with green surrounds. Quiet. Clean room.
Review 10:Staff are probably under the pump and cant be every where and do everything, but who is the painter , and who cleans the shower and tiles.Come on guys this setting deserves a bit more effort.
Review 11:Wow what a great setting
Review 12:I stayed in the dorm room. Staff were friendly, facilities were clean and comfortable. Setting was pleasant. I was aware that I needed my own sleeping bag, or could rent bedding, so that was not an issue.
Review 13:Kettle had to be filled by a mug or the shower. Spiders in the shower. Hard bed. The ad didn't say there was a pub on site.
Review 14:No common walls with other rooms. Away from everyone! Quiet!
Review 15:The cabin had either not been cleaned, or cleaned very poorly. There were dead bugs throughout including a large amount in the shower, and spilt sugar in the kitchen. The exhaust fan in the bathroom has been removed at some point, allowing a disturbing amount of mould to build up on the roof and insulation to protrude through the now vacant hole in the roof. On the Saturday morning we were awoken at 6:30am by a truck outside our cabin filling a water tank. "secluded bush cabins" indeed!! And all this was the upgraded cabin we paid extra for a few days before arrival. Happy to include pictures if required. Not happy booking.com
Review 16:I felt the bathroom was very poor. The hand basin was so narrow and stained that it was almost impossible to use. Having stayed at other cabins I guess my expectations re amenities were disappointing.
Review 17:I loved the location and surrounds, but because of our commitments we were only there at night.
Review 18:Crowded for 2 adults - 2 bunks in a small room, small bathroom. Pub was closed - we were looking for somewhere late in the day to have a meal and sleep. Felt like I was on a school camp.
Review 19:Location - bush setting and we were going horse riding the next morning. Having swimming pool and pub and firepit on site would have been good. Fantastic setting for a school camp.
Review 20:The only bad thing is having to leave and my spelling in typing this review.
Review 21:The moment you arrive it feels like a holiday. The cabins are adorable, the beds comfortable, kitchen and bathroom are clean. It feels like you are camping, having a BBQ in a park, and staying in a motel all at once! This is a great place to gather together your extended family with all the kids for an adventure.
Review 22:Although the booking page states "the self catering cabins include a full kitchen" there is only one cabin with a kitchen. No. 4 has no kitchen and no chairs or table, just bunks. Refund for misleading description was denied. We chose a motel instead, paying less! Tried to ring so they could rebook cabin, but phone cut out after 3 mins of recorded ads for their business.
Review 23:Quiet bush location
Review 24:I got bed bugs bites so I'm concerned Plus in the price of accomodation you charge an extra $20 which is not right at all it should be included Also there's no toilet indoors in the middle of the night you must go out and there's no lights and the door was hard to open
Review 25:Customer service was lovely Pleasant staff and friendly owner and bar staff Beautiful location Peaceful and quiet
Review 26:No signs anywhere to indicate where to or not to park ;) so be careful, it may be the wrong spot!
Review 27:I loved the staff! very friendly when arrving, no trouble at all. Recommend to anyone who doesn't want to stay 'in town' but is only minutes out 'of town'. Lovely clean room, the bed (and this is rare) was very comfy. Thanks to all the staff, I'll be back again!
Review 28:It looked like the cabins were being repainted which is good, but some of the incomplete painting was sloppy - would have been nice to be told by manager if this was what was happening.
Review 29:Bush location, quiet, no traffic, no noisy guests, good value, manager friendly and helpful.
Review 30:The bushland setting and seclusion was ideal for us.
Review 31:Clean and friendly the staff was happy to help
Review 32:Friendly people and a nice private relaxed feel
Review 33:Clean and great staff
Review 34:Very clean close to venue
Review 35:The kitchen was dirty and the showers were that great
Review 36:The stuff were friendly and helpful
Review 37:Serene and quiet. No traffic noise. Room heated prior to my arrival and welcoming light on. Absolutely the best value for money in Bendigo.
Review 38:the shower and ensuite need some work.
Review 39:nice location as we had a party at the bush pig inn next door
Review 40:The mattress was a bit uncomfortable, although I'm a bit of a princess.
Review 41:Great Bush location Lots of kangaroos Peace and quiet
Review 42:quiet facilities - not fancy as not required. very happy with stay.
Review 43:Great budget place and bush kitchen but equipment was basic but adequate
Review 44:The cabin was extremely basic. The camp kitchen was appalling - not conducive to food preparation.
Review 45:The location - close to Bendigo
Review 46:Bird life
Review 47:Comfortable bed and good heating. Quiet
Review 48:I hadn't read properly only bunks not a double bed. My mistake :(
Review 49:easy access to a great meal at the Bush Pig Inn
Review 50:Everything was great
Review 51:customers help after booking
Review 52:location
Review 53:Kitchen was ordinary
Review 54:Close to the Bush Pig Hotel in bush setting..
Review 55:Was an awful cabin. No room. Old dirty bathroom.
Review 56:Bathroom (cabin 4) getting tired.
Review 57:Location in the bush is excellent. Staff very friendly and genuine. Cabin was clean and neat.
Review 58:Was interesting
Review 59:Blind, exhaust fan needs repair.
Review 60:Bed is just right
Review 61:Bed was a little uncomfortable and thin
Review 62:The location and quiet was wonderful
Review 63:bush setting
Review 64:As a long distance student, travelling for school, it was perfect for my needs. Comfortable, close and provided all essential amenities.
Review 65:Woulf have like some kind of cooking option in thr cabin.
Review 66:Quiet and private. The hotel was a bonus. Rustic but ok.
Review 67:Renovation
Review 68:Location
Review 69:Bathrooms a little dirty
Review 70:The setting was nice and peaceful and cabins are well set out
Review 71:room was a little to small
Review 72:Owners where willing to make our stay as best at possible
Review 73:We ran out of hot water, not enough hot water for 2 showers
Review 74:Nice and quiet
Review 75:Loved the bush setting quite place to stay
Review 76:Hand basin you either had hot or cold water there was no plug,we were advised about mosquito problem but there was no fly wire screens or fly wire doors or insect repellent, shower was hard to regulate. There was no bedside tables to put alarm clock,no plates for food.no wardrobe to hang clothes. The shower had black mold around bottom All small things but i would hate to have booked for a week.
Review 77:The location
Review 78:The bush feeling and the excellent food at the bush pig inn. The staff were awesome. i buggered up the booking and had us down for 2 people when there was 5 of us they brought the additional beds in at 1100PM.
Review 79:After paying at the caretakers office was shown a cabin with bunks in, no linen or pillows, mould in the shower and very smelly (told that was because they had had a group of sweaty child staying before), NOTHING like the photos online. After complaining was shown a very different cabin with a double bed in all made up and a clean bathroom. Was not available to use only for show. As we had booked 2 double cabins but not available we left and went into town and stayed in a very comfortable pub so we paid twice for our accommodation that night as the Bendigo cabins would not give us a refund saying they had reserved the 2 cabins for us even though there was no one else on the site. Very a unpleasant experience especially as we had friends from the UK with us.
Review 80:their were a large group of young men their that had been drinking. I was woken by their loud yelling and one of their cars leaving and someone yelling at them to grow up. but it stopped almost as quick as it started.
Review 81:lovely staff, our room was clean, very comfy. my daughter loved the water slide. Thankyou for a great experience. I will bring my other children for a visit next time.
Review 82:Hair in basin and dirty mirror. Close to camp kitchen and had very inconsiderate people who were noisy. Shelly dealt with this situation well.
Review 83:My deluxe cabin was great. Beautiful linen, comfy bed, good cutlery, crockery. I did take battery operated candles for ambiance as not a fan of fluorescents. Air conditioner worked well and quiet!
Review 84:Loved the location in the bush but in town , only complaint is I bookeda cabin which u could pick on the site with a double bed, when I gotthere sorry only have a cabin with bunk beds.was not happy with tgat asthey waited till I paid b4 tellin me,pron knew I would have went elsewhere if they told me first
Review 85:Bathroom tiny, hand basin very very small and badly stained, basic accommodation. The rooms had been recently painted and there was paint everywhere paint should not be.
Review 86:Staff were lovely and extremely apologetic when our first cabin had a blocked toilet. The bed and linen were very good.
Review 87:No table in the room so we used the outdoor one instead. Upholstered chairs are in need of being thrown out - very stained so we used the outdoor ones. No plates or cutlery - would have been nice to be told prior to arriving so we could bring our own. Shower needs a revamp, basin minuscule to wash face, mugs or filling kettle etc.
Review 88:Handy to our Bendigo activities. It was a good price for what you got, but promotional descriptions need be more indepth. Linen package was fine but extra pillows needed as the 2 provided were too low for us.
Review 89:Early checkout (same everywhere).
Review 90:Basic, simple, easy, convenient. Would like to return in summer when the slide is operating with our kids and try the pub.
Review 91:Initial reception - rather like we were putting the young lady out by knocking to obtain the keys. This young woman said she would take us to the pub to pay. That turned out to be the office of the Gold Mine etc. Then we spoke to another young lady with whom we said the linen issue was very misleading and we said "give us back out money because we were not going to pay to rent a pillow and blankets" She said well you booked through what if. I did not I simply went to accomodation in Bendigo and then looked at the venues. Again what I viewed did not equal what we found. The web site said linen your own or a charge of $21.To us (who have had a holiday rental business and B&B 4.5 star assessment by RACT i.e. Tassie) linen = sheets pillow cases and towels. The description should say ALL bedding including pillows. Also the gas bottles should be checked daily rather that the msg if it is out ring ... The concept is excellent/superb but the photos do not equal what you get.We believe that photos are very old and misleading. Clean the place up (when we arrived the rubbish bins were not emptied outside, In the camp kitchen just a little effort would make is ever so much more acceptable). Clean tea towels, gloves without holes and clean plates. We would say wake up or get out if not someone is going to take you to VCAT. What I have said is sad but the truth!!
Review 92:Location for our purposes that weekend
Review 93:The customer service was dreadful, the cabin was very basic, not as good value for money as others we have stayed in, the whole area was very dark at night.
Review 94:The setting was nice, although we were only there at night, but the cabins amongst the trees was nice. The owner who was very apologetic about the problems we experienced.
Review 95:No shower floor mat. No tea towel or detergent supplied. No cutlery supplied. Appeared to be mould in tile grout around shower base.
Review 96:Friendly caretaker/owners. Very basic but Value for money. Quiet and relaxing. Great food at the Bush Pig Inn.
Review 97:No mirror in bathroom to shave, do hair etc,wc was a bit hit and miss as far as flushing, overall needed a bit of a spruce up
Review 98:Very clean inside, great alternative to a motel as there was space outside for my child to run and ride his bike. Very quiet
Review 99:As I was there for a week, a microwave & a plate would have been nice.
Review 100:The setting, cabin was good, tidy and clean en-suite adequate, peaceful stay.
Review 101:I personally called staff during the week before our visit to arrange a late check-in as we were arriving late from a concerto rehearsal. I was told this was OK, and they would leave the key in the door and the light on. On the Thursday I received a call from staff, to confirm our stay, and late check-in. Again, I was told that the light would be on, and the key in the door. When we arrived Friday night, there was no light on and no key in the door. After freaking out (because we had been told the caretakers would be away), checking all the windows, and other cabins, we fumbled around in the dark and found an after hours phone number to call. Luckily the caretakers had arrived back from a long trip and were in the pub and able to assist us. However, we were very distressed during the time we were trying to get in. I had an important engagement the following day and would have been fuming if we didn't get into our cabin that night. Very poor communication skills with your staff, and that is inexcusable.
Review 102:The lack of powerpoints in the bathroom, thelack of running water in thedisabled toilet. Lots of mozzies that ate us up at night! The campkitchen had the potential to become very hot in hotter weather. Thewaterslide wasn't open and that was a big draw card for the kids.
Review 103:The nature aspects...the campfire, the pub, the quiet...
Review 104:The shower had mould the toilet still had the remains from the lastpatron. The double bed sagged that badly we went and purchased sometimber to fix it. When they indicated that there was no linen which isfine but no pillows no towels, they provide tea and coffee, a kettle, toaster, but no crockery cutlery no t towel, the camp kitchen was filthyin a word.
Review 105:The location is fantastic and the place has potential.
Review 106:Was very disappointed that the waterslide was not open on the Sunday when it was a very warm day, also I feel that a few items would be good in the bathroom (mirror, towel hooks )
Review 107:The pub staff were very friendly and helpful, meals were excellent and the atmosphere was very relaxing also the metal detecting shop staff were helpful.
Review 108:The person at reception was not very friendly or accomodating. Thedescription of ajoining the Bendigo Waterworld and "freeentry" was misleading- it was free to enter but you had to pay touse the slide, and there was only the slide there, there is no swimmingpool. Bathroom was tiny and very tired, no bathmat was provided.
Review 109:The surroundings in the bush were quite nice, not too far from Bendigocbd, but peaceful and quiet.
Review 110:Poor condition. No covers on light bulbs ( obviously broken) Shower door numerous cracks. Not safe to open and close door. Did not appear to be well looked after
Review 111:Comfortable bed. close proximity to town. Good price for single traveller.
Review 112:The spring mattress on the double bed was ruined - when lying down onerolled into a deep depression in the middle. The situation was the samefor the single bunk above.False advertising - stated linen required This normally means sheets and pillow cases. However, needed pillows, blankets, tea-towel, bath mat and towels. The jug provided could only be filled by using the shower.
Review 113:The setting was goodThe air conditioner and TV worked fine
Review 114:Stayed 2 separate nights - one night in cabin 6 and another night in cabin 7. Both had squeeky floor. Both had beds that were too soft. Door handles of chest of draws in cabin 7 were missing.
Review 115:We had access to the paddle pool of the waterslide next door. Very quite surrounds. Kitchen mostly functional (matches and detergent would have made it even better).
Review 116:No laundry. Squeeky floor. Bed was too soft. Rubbish bin was overflowingbefore we arrived. Rotting fruit between wall and bench in cabin 6.
Review 117:Beautiful bushy surrounds and birdlife. Next to waterslide and recievedfree entry to their paddle pool. Friendly staff.
Review 118:I liked the atmasphere and the pub was just fabulas .
Review 119:Our cabin needed a toaster for our breakfast
Review 120:A very quite surrounding
Review 121:they sed the stay was to short
Review 122:to tell the truth my sons love all of it
Review 123:The food and people was great will be returning next year
Review 124:Idyllic setting very peaceful
