Reviews for Corran Bunkhouse

Review 1:There's no wifi in the room or even in the kitchen. We need to literally stand (no chairs) in front of the reception table to get the signal.

Review 2:Spacious and clean room with a roof window, which offers a fantastic view of the clear night sky (when weather is good) with literally thousands of stars. Beautiful surroundings and great location, near the sea and a ferry point. Super friendly and extremely helpful staff. Nice kitchen for our use.

Review 3:Ian and his wife are super friendly and welcoming. The property is very well maintaoned and situated beautifully right by the water. There is a great communal kitchen and our stay here was everything we could have hopes for in a hostel type place like this. We loved it there!

Review 4:I m nitpicking here. The corran inn next door wasn't open for food when we arrived (it was after 9pm) and we had to go back to fort william for a quick bite. Wish there was a convenience store or somewhere we could quickly grab some milk or bread close by.

Review 5:The lady at the reception made sure we were comfortable during our stay. She was ready with all the information we needed and was very friendly.

Review 6:Had a perfect room for us - double bed with single bunk over. Room was good size, warm, clean with a large bathroom and walk in shower. Staff very friendly and went out of there way to help - providing hair dryer, washing machine including washing liquid and great recommendations for dinner

Review 7:It was very hard to find the place, the GPS takes you to a different location. The beds were not comfortable at all. The shower was cold. Wi-fi is only accessible outside in front of reception.

Review 8:Very friendly staff, ease of check-in

Review 9:Great value for a simple, functional ensuite room and kitchen fully equipped. Hosts were lovely and the place is in a handy setting close to the car ferry. Would stay there again.

Review 10:Bit of a battle with the GPS to find it, but not the fault of the hosts. Ring for directions and no drama

Review 11:Amazing friendly staff, very welcoming and helpful. Big room, clean and well presented

Review 12:Not possible to close the doors quietly. That means if somebody from your neighbors wakes up early and have to wake up too as not possible to continue sleeping while everybody's slamming doors.

Review 13:Everything was brilliant couldn't be asked for more. Thank you. Staff is fantastic.

Review 14:The rooms and bathroom are very small and not at all sound proofed.

Review 15:The atmosphere, the possibility to chat in shared kitchen with other nature lovers, the washing machine and drying room, the maps that one could borrow to explore the neighborhood area ... This is a perfect accommodation to visit this part of Scotland.

Review 16:The only drawback we found was finding fresh milk for our breakfast needs.

Review 17:The Corran bunkhouse was ideal for our one night stop over. The ferry took us across the loch for a few pints and a meal at the local pub free of charge. I would certainly recommend the Corran bunkhouse to any friends visiting this area.

Review 18:Our hosts couldnt do enough for us, including allowing us to pitch our tent in the garden and opening a shower/kitchen/toilet facility when we found all the other b&bs fully booked.

Review 19:The location is fantastic! The staff was very nice and helpful; very well equipped kitchen. However the room was a tiny one, but all in all, great value for money.

Review 20:The car GPS misplaced the property.

Review 21:We stayed for just one night but I really recommend this place. It is very clean, the beds are confortable. The kichen wear is very good and the location is very beautiful. It's not just for backpackers...

Review 22:Hostel was very clean and had excellent facilities including en-suite bathrooms and a lovely kitchen-dining area. Staff were so friendly, offering suggestions for nearby places to eat and things to do, and made our stay there so lovely. Would definitely recommend!

Review 23:There is nothing I didn't like.

Review 24:I liked everything about this place I have never stayed in a bunk house before but it was a pleasure better and more comfortable than the hotel I stayed in the night before.the owners were so nice the kitchen had everything you could need all other travelers I meet there spoke of the excellent facilities and the location is right by the Corran ferry foot passengers travel free on the short crossing to a very nice pub restaurant.

Review 25:Shower in one of our rooms didn't work.

Review 26:This is second time we stayed at this place. It is perfect pit stop on the way to Isle of Skye and offers value for money if you are after basic bed and shower.

Review 27:It's so well maintained, clean, super friendly owner and great facilities. Honestly the best bunkhouse I've stayed in. We had to reduce our numbers at short notice and the owner was so nice about it. Cosy and lovely. A must stay place!

Review 28:Bathroom - very cramped, no space to put off clothes and towels, not a single cabinet, no shower gel. Beds creaking at minimum movement. No Internet.

Review 29:Spacious family room, free car parking, the windows can be opened, a peaceful and quiet. Polite owner.

Review 30:The air freshener! So overwhelming it made you gag.Room very small as was bathroom,, but it is called a hostel.

Review 31:Location was pretty, convenient and geographically very interesting

Review 32:Tiny showers, this is not actual hotel it's just a student accommodation. Very small bed for two adults. Mattress is like just bed cover on the top of springs. Not comfortable at all. All I did slept on the floor after borrowed extra duvets. Very thin walls.

Review 33:Nothing to like about apart from free car parking.

Review 34:There is just no internet, even if they say there is wifi. The connection only 'works' in the reception, and I managed to see two emails in 15 minutes. This was quite frustrating that they said that they would have internet in first place although it just doesn't work...

Review 35:Very friendly staff who gave us very nice tips

Review 36:Beds not comfortable, really tiny room.

Review 37:Friendly staff, who booked a table at the restaurant on the other side of the loch for us. Funny ferry trip on the evening to go on dinner.

Review 38:If you are relying on buses or trains check out times at buses stops. Buses only one or two per hour. Corran Ferry FREE for foot passengers.

Review 39:Freedom to get up when you liked and get your own breakfast. Shared kitchen facilities excellent with boxes for each room to store items either in fridge or larger boxes for box of cereals etc. Large range cooker with lots of pots and pans, plenty of plates, cooking utensils and cutlery. Owners and staff friendly and helpful. Worthy of 4* rating. Local walk to waterfall was amazing.

Review 40:Very beautiful located hostel, with a very big and new kitchen. Rooms are very beautiful and clean. The people have been very friendly with good hints and advices for sightseeing and hiking!

Review 41:Not what I didnt like but would be a great idea to provide a dog bed to visitors so dogs got somewhere to sleep?

Review 42:Very helpful staff, the lady in charge found us some milk for our tea in the morning! Loved communal kitchen. We were only stopping over on way to Isle of Lewis - perfect.

Review 43:Nothing except one of our bed was not really comfortable and a strange noise of fan at 10 pm during 30 minutes. But anyway, it's an address I'll keep in mind.

Review 44:very nice and helpful owner. The wife speak perfect french. There are 2 well equipped kitchens like at home. It's a very nice place if you like to meet people.

Review 45:beds were really uncomfortable - very soft and you could feel all coils inside.

Review 46:very clean bedroom/bathroom/kitchen; nice staff; good location; working mudroom available

Review 47:The bed springs were awful and the bed was creaking all the time.

Review 48:Excellent facilities for hikers: drying, steam room. Clean kitchen with good facilities for self-catering.

Review 49:My only suggestion for improvement is that since we were in room 1 we could literally here all the movement coming from the room above us and that was a bit disturbing especially for the person sleeping on the top bunk.

Review 50:Allan is a great host and everything was explained to us as if we were his first ever customer (which we were not). Alan took his time to thoroughly iron out our issues. Excellent professional service. André - Malta

Review 51:Small family driven bunkhouse in an amazing location, very very gentle and helpful owners, fairly spacious room and very big bathroom, clean, nice big public kitchen where you can get to know the other housemates!

Review 52:Mattresses very soft

Review 53:Friendly host great location and super family room and kitchen facilities. Ferry to restaurant went down well with the teenagers. Loved it.

Review 54:On arrival we received a wonderful warm welcome after a long journey. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable with excellent bathroom facilities and towels provided. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you could ever need. There was even a steam room to relax in after a strenuous walk! The owners are exceptionally helpful and the views are tremendous. With no charge for washing and drying facilities and a tv in every room, it was excellent value for money. We had a fantastic holiday-well worth a visit!!

Review 55:We feared for the bed to break, did not risk to let child sleep on uppper bed.

Review 56:nice owners, good tips, nice place, good setup, clean, well equipped kitchen.

Review 57:Room 1 was directly off the kitchen, so noisy both evening and morning. The beds were really creaky so would wake you up when anyone moved and the whole room had damp so smelt really bad.

Review 58:Well located and met some nice other travelers.

Review 59:The location was perfect. The facility was spotless up to date and completely comfortable. The best part of all was the staff. Their friendliness and helpfulness were the highlights of our stay. Great pub and restaurant within walking distance too. Just what we needed. Easy on the wallet as well.

Review 60:The only thing that let it down was the bed,you couldnt get out both sides as one side was against the wall, couldnt move it as it was too heavy.

Review 61:The location was excellent.the gentleman who greeted us was so welcolming and pleasant

Review 62:- very small and dark room - just after one of us took a shower (not a very long one) there was no warm water and the rest of us had to take a shower in freezing cold water. The boiler should definitely be bigger - extremely uncomfortable beds - please change the materaces

Review 63:+ location, by the lake and close enough to fort william and glen coe + large kitchen + clean + friendly staff

Review 64:You don't want to spend a lot of time in the very basic room but the en suite was a plus as well as the nicely equipped kitchen.

Review 65:If you want a clean, friendly place for a quick overnight, it is perfect.

Review 66:The friendly, warm atmosphere. Alan and his Mum were terrific hosts. A great, affordable place to stay in the Highlands and good location for further travels across the water.

Review 67:Everything from the welcome, the facilities, the cleanliness and most of all the location. Excellent value for money too. Cant speak highly enough of the place....

Review 70:Hopefully new owners will replace the beds asap! Not comfortable!

Review 71:Perfect location with ferry on doorstep and excellent walks in the area.Kitchen facilities first class. The garden areas have been beautifullyplanted and maintained.

Review 72:The room was listed as 16m2, however the size was more like 8m2 ie compact small rooms.

Review 73:Good location for Trampers and a base to explore the local area. Ideal for self catering stay. Management and staff were very good

Review 74:Hospitality is imho about providing warmth, light and privacy; during our stay the heating malfunctioned, the electricity failed, and we had no curtain on our road-facing bathroom.

Review 75:The location next to the Corran Ardgour ferry is fantastic.

Review 76:Staff was wonderful and very helpful. We had our own private room and bathroom, which is great for the money! Perfect for any traveler on a budget and wants to explore the area! The staff was very helpful and were interested in giving any tips!

Review 77:Room was next to communal kitchen so a bit noisy in the mornings.

Review 78:Kitchen, drying room, bike storage all useful. Steam room was a nice extra. Staff very friendly and you can get the ferry to the pub!

Review 79:Rooms are very small and we didn't realise it was all twin rooms, not so comfortable for a couple. But still a good night and great location.

Review 80:Great kitchen for self catering. Very friendly helpful staff.

Review 81:If could complain about owt would be wifi but knew they didn't have it before we went so not a big issue

Review 83:Steam Room smelled musty Check-in lady could have been a bit friendlier

Review 84:Comfy bed Great prices Communal kitchen well equipped Not far from Fort William and handy for the Ferry

Review 85:It has a very convenient location if you travel by car between Fort William and Glencoe. It's a bit far from places to eat (the friendly staff told us where to go) but there's a little kitchen you can use. The room was clean and warm and we slept very well.

Review 86:Some guests think they are the only ones staying there and bang doors. Needs a sign up on door to remind people to be considerate to other guests.

Review 87:If you are travelling with a dog ask for room 1 its perfect. Owner was very helpful. Well equipped kitchen.

Review 88:nothing not to like

Review 89:location right by ferry bunkhouse but we had a private room flagstone kitchen next to room for cooking clean and friendly lovely gardens favorite place of trip

Review 90:WiFi was poor; router was in the reception office so you had to sit outside to get any reception and it wasn't particularly good even then.
