Reviews for Da Vinci Guest House - Bed And Breakfast - Gatwick

Review 1:All in darkness when arrived. Couldn't find staff when needed and telephone number goes to managers house it seems! Mould in bathroom, funny smell and felt like you were staying at someone's house with the decor, but then it was only £36.

Review 2:Staff were helpful when did find them. Tv/ wifi and free parking were the best things.

Review 3:Nothing.

Review 4:The property is in a quiet place, the facilities are really good, my bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was very good and everything was really clean. Claire and Gino are really nice and do everything to make you feel at home. The place has a very good atmosphere. I felt totally at home. I highly recommend the place. Parking is easy too.

Review 5:Its not going to be everyone cup of tea if you are used to premier inn or other corporate hotels.

Review 6:Friendly owner, had parking in a quiet area. Breakfast was ok. good VFM

Review 7:The shower was only lukewarm in the evening, would have preferred it hotter.

Review 8:Very welcoming and cosy. Perfect location for near Gatwick airport, yet still a quiet location.

Review 9:Bed's weren't overly comfortable and very small bathroom.

Review 10:Breakfast and room to fit all three of us. Just what we needed after a night of travelling

Review 11:Nothing

Review 12:Cost was low, yet the room was fine, spacious and more than adequate. Breakfast was offered at that price, although we couldn't use due to early flight time. Nice countryside spot despite being in Crawley.

Review 13:The furniture was dated, but there was nothing bad inside. However the outside area was a bit like a tip, and the drive was full of potholes!

Review 14:I just needed a bed for the night, this was only 3 miles away, and fitted the bill. The breakfast was good value at £4.

Review 15:one thing really - shower was really small but I guess that not that important

Review 16:extremely nice staff, very comfy bed, beautiful and clean sheets, very clean carpets and bathroom, big room, very clean dining area

Review 17:Kept awake till 2.30 am by drunk men in the hotel. Woken up at 6 am by a man vomiting in the room next door.

Review 18:Staff were very polite and helpful. Free easy access parking.

Review 19:Location meant it was a doddle to get to Gatwick South. Surprisingly quiet at night. As far as other facilities like a bar, entertainment etc, what should you expect for the price? It did what I wanted as far as getting me near to Gatwick and giving me a comfortable nights sleep.

Review 20:The tea and coffee was downstairs not in your room, the bathroom floor is tiles so a floor mat would be useful as shower leaks onto the floor and makes it slippy, the shower curtain had mould on it. Was not worth the money we have stayed in better places with you.

Review 21:The breakfast was ok, but could have been warmer.

Review 22:Well we turned up to see this house covered in ivy weeds in theguttering, old mattresses sticking out of the garage, it was veryunwelcoming. We walked through this conservatory which was a mess to getto the front door, was met by one of the owners, he showed us our roomwhich was large and had three beds, the bedding was clean but had astrange smell, the bathroom was large and clean but didn't have aplug in the sink, and the towl rail fell off. Very disappointed thatthere wasn't kettle in the room but had to go down to breakfast roomto get a drink. I took some photos of the garden, it was a tip.

Review 23:Breakfast, clean towls

Review 24:The place was a mess as soon as you drive into the property, rubbish every where, inside the bungalow it looked like its never seen an hoover and the bedroom was awful, spiders inside, curtains hanging off the wall, and very thin, no plug in the bathroom sink, tiles missing off the walls. the whole place was awful. The bungalow has two bedrooms next to one another and you share the bathroom kitchen and sitting room no privacy what so ever!!!! I wont be going back to stay there!!!!!

Review 25:Breakfast was nice. good parking area,

Review 26:Exterior of property very run down not giving good impression. Facilities unusual in that coffee's were not available in room. Breakfast reasonable but lacking in service courtesies i.e. taking details of your cooked requirements at breakfast time whilst helping you with your needs in their self service style. Instead cooked breakfast served before you had chance to eat cereals.

Review 27:The lady owner very charming and obliging. Her husband more distant. Room very good but noisy area which is understood (Gatwick)

Review 28:I felt like at my home. Green view, quiet place. too much clean.

Review 29:Toilet didn't flush properly . Mould on bathroom ceiling and walls.

Review 58:The outside is very uninviting. Dreadful entrance, rough drive and poor signage.

Review 65:very friendly

Review 66:Nothing much really

Review 67:Plenty of parking, big comfortable room

Review 68:breakfast is excellent, staff is very good !

Review 69:It was a tip. The garden had abandoned boats, caravans, cars and shopping trolleys as well as flys all over the place as you walked through the conservatory to the entrance. I doubt they get any repeat business.

Review 70:Not much

Review 71:Road noise, aircraft noise (expected but still annoying), difficult to find again in the dark

Review 72:Friendly owners Comfortable rooms Good internet connection

Review 73:the outside area isn't very tidy lots of old and broken things no cleaning of the room in 5 days flushing the toilet didn't work properly when it rains it is very loud as the drip rail is either broken or clogged and the rain water now drops onto the porch roof

Review 74:free parking free WiFi local bus to Gatwick Airport

Review 75:it was a bloody tip on the outside .when i booked with you it was a room with 16 days free parking. this was not so and i got gharged 28 pounds to park for 8 days i wont go there again plus i was worried about my car when i was away it needs closing down untill its been totaly refurbed

Review 76:it was very clean on the inside

Review 77:Would have liked tea and coffee in room, rather than going into breakfast room for it, but it's just a small quibble.

Review 78:Staff couldn't have been more helpful and veggie breakfast was great.

Review 79:No tea making facilities in the room, limited breakfast choice no fruit or yogurt etc.. Blackout curtains would be good.

Review 80:Good location, friendly staff and reasonable price

Review 81:No cleaning during a 5 nights stay, not even the waste bin in the room. Limited English.

Review 82:Location good. Friendly staff. Good food (English breakfast was inclusive.)

Review 83:Some of the electrics look a little doubtful, and I hope this is resolved in the renovation.

Review 84:The inclusive parking and cooked breakfast make this very good value for money.

Review 85:Unfortunately there was no desk in the room but I would say it was a minor problem. Overall rating - 9/10.

Review 86:Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are very clean and comfortable.

Review 87:Entrance not clear, through a cluttered conservatory. General clutter and piles of rubbish in the garden.

Review 88:Easy parking and close to the airport. Plenty of hot water.

Review 89:First impressions are bad because they are renovating and the outside is strewn with old fittings and fixtures. The drive needs resurfacing. Once inside all is fine but I wasn't sure on arrival if they were even open!

Review 90:The inside is clean, newly decorated and nicely furnished. The room was large and well appointed. Owners friendly and helpful. Breakfast is self service (apart from the cooked option) and starts good and early

Review 91:Unclean: With a young 4 year old sorry to say it had a smell of damp andsmoke: workmen were smoking in the house when we arrived!!!! Very Noisywith traffic and planes none of us slept all night. Food very bad andcheap and outside looked like a tip with old furniture everywhere andvery unkept. No vat receipt!! But charged forvat..........................

Review 92:Nothing sorry to say it was terrible

Review 93:I don't normally write these reviews, but this time I was infuriated! Message requests for late check-in through booking.com not alledgedly forwarded to the guest house, on arrival my card had been charged for half the amount which I expected, then was asked how I would be paying the rest of the amount, which i asked If we could pay cash as we had x3 in our party, which the hostess agreed, however on my way down, still on check-in from unloading the car, I was told my card had been charged by her husband?? The next day I was asked to reception again, as they hadn't charged me for my dog's accomodation, so another payment was taken!! They need a more clarified structure and organisation! The entrance to the guest house left little to be desired, walking through a conservatory, tired from travelling we let it go, however having a mixed aray of empty baskets, cardboard boxes, drills and wood pieces and drying linen bundled up on the chairs, which doubled up as a smoke area, itsn't great practice or inviting to the eye.

Review 94:The modern fill to the room decor, however there wasn't adequate ventilation in the small bathroom or latch, which did cause some embarrasment. Good Breakfast option and hostess polite and friendly and tried to be as accomodating as possible. Good location as we have family in East Grinstead, for all the visits we do a year, however would have to think twice before I booked again. Shame really just a few basic's let it down.

Review 95:When I arrived, there was no reply at the door of the guesthouse. Eventually I reluctantly tried the door marked "private" on the adjacent bungalow. I'm sure a portable or slave doorbell would resolve this.

Review 96:Warm, comfortable room and I could turn down the heat when I wanted to; hot, powerful shower; drinks facilities freely available without having to go to reception and ask for more milk; scrumptious breakfast; polite, welcoming, and helpful landlady;

Review 97:room a little small no tea/coffee making facilities in the room have to go down to living room

Review 98:Out of town in the country but close to all town facilities Casual and relaxed Free WiFi

Review 99:In Crawley is nothing to fill time. You can't go for a walk or seesomething historical. It is to far away from London City to go and comeback in half a day. 10 min. Walk to this Indian Temple 45 Min. Walk to alittle park and a cinema.

Review 100:We met very nice indian people. They invited us in their home. Thiswas a very interesting experience. Also to see all the Goddess theyshowed us.

Review 101:The house need a bit update on coushion for chair and courtains too many different colours in the same space.

Review 102:Staff is excelent, very polite, always ready to help, very friendly. Very clean room and lounch room provide everything for a good cofee, chat and relaxing time.

Review 103:Not given a confirmation of my booking in advance. Lack of informationabout public transport.

Review 104:Good location, close to Gatwick but in a quiet village. Good local busservice to the airport terminal. Taxi from airport is gbp17, but thelocal bus stops 50 metres from the hotel. Clean and comfortable and acute duck pond in the garden.

Review 105:Meals a tad overpriced. Garden and outer spaces will benefit of a little more care.

Review 106:Staff very courteous and friendly. Cozy rooms with warm, family oriented decoration. Meals and beverages available on evenings.

Review 107:No coffee or tea making in your room it was available until 10.00 in the breakfast/dinning room.

Review 108:No fuss quite, Friendly, Good breakfast with eggs from there own chickens, out side sitting area and space for children to let off some steam.

Review 109:No staff, owner ok, limited English. Room was small, nowhere to put orhang anything, ensuite was a cupboard, just the width of the showercubicle. Breakfast unspecial, under-cooked bacon, cheap sausage andbeans, instsnt coffee. Wouldn't use again.
