Reviews for Taynuilt Hotel
Review 1:Beds were 'way past time for replacement - by far the worst of a week's trip.
Review 2:For an Inn built in late 1600s, this is doing pretty well. Our twin room was small and poky, but others seem to be more refined. Bathroom is modern and everything works. Chef/owner John turns out excellent food, showing imagination and good skills. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
Review 3:A very friendly hotel. Originally I had a room at the front of the hotel but as my television didnt work I was moved to a lovely suite at the back. This was incredibly comfortable and peaceful.
Review 4:Unfortunately, we were on the top floor. My mother is 86 years old and blind, so the stairs were a problem. However, that is probably my fault, because I didn't check if there was a lift or possibility of ground floor room.
Review 5:Excellent breakfast and food was beautifully presented. Lovely big, spacious bathroom.
Review 6:Personal & tentative service, complimentary afternoon tea upon arrival which included vegan selection for my daughter also. Beds incredibly comfortable, restaurant menu fab & of very high standard. Can't wait to stay there again.
Review 7:Even though the room was spacious and bed very comfy and clean, the bathroom was small. Overall the room needed a bit of an overhaul as well.
Review 8:The food was excellent. The manager David and all of the staff were very friendly and professional. The bar had an amazing selection of whisky and gin
Review 9:Room rather dark & gloomy. Staff running past our door through our "balcony" to their quarters was hilarious but not really acceptable! Shower room very small. Food OK but not as good as advertised.
Review 10:Not a lot!
Review 11:The place was noisy - you could hear everyone in the other rooms.Breakfast was from 8.00 am and we needed a early start and at 7.55 thechef had not even arrived - we eventually got our b/fast at 8.15.The place was overpriced and average - the only thing"superior" about our room was the cost.
Review 12:Nothing really.
Review 13:Stayed there 6 months ago and they were having problems with the showers so couldn't shower properly. Gave hotel a high rating despite this. Sadly the showers still don't work properly. We had 3 rooms between us and we all had the same problem burning or freezing. And the TV in 2 of the rooms didn't work but we were given a good discount because of this . They didn't change the towels which was disappointing. They left them hanging on the backs of chairs and radiators so they were wet for next day's use . It felt as though there were less staff than before.
Review 14:Handy location. Very friendly manager/owner.
Review 15:The only thing we didn't like was the noisy plumbing for the hot water and the toilet.
Review 16:We stayed in a superior room and the carved furniture was really lovely. The bed was really comfortable. Great food and friendly staff.
Review 17:Staff was absolutely excellent and meals were great! Rooms did the trick for getting us to next stop, but dated and noisy with proximity to street and from just having old windows.
Review 18:all the tea/coffee requirements were in the room - but no kettle. Told Jade on second day - she was horrified and said she'd fix it right away
Review 19:Dinner was very, very good. Staff welcoming and friendly

Review 23:Room clean, pleasant and mostly well appointed Staff welcoming and professional Bar beer, spirit and wine selctions very good . Well presented restaurant meals from an inviting menu choice
Review 24:We loved everything about this hotel, staff were absolutely delightful, and kind. The bar area was relaxing and we made friends with other guests. The food was delicious. The town of Taynuilt is quaint and we enjoyed walking about.
Review 25:Being charged extra for Porridge if we had a cooked breakfast!. The plumbing leaves a lot to be desired. Noisy macerators and bubbling shower.
Review 26:The food was excellent.
Review 27:Shower was very weak, and I kept stubbing my toe on the shower cubicle corner! View from window was just 2 bits of roof and a leaky gutter.
Review 28:Food was excellent - evening meal superb and good value, breakfast large and tasty - even for a vegetarian.
Review 29:The shower room was a bit disappointing with the very noisy macerator, back flowing waste and loose floor tiles. The menu choices were somewhat limited. The waste bin was not emptied nor the beverage basket replenished for two days out of four.
Review 30:The staff were very friendly & helpful. The quality & quantity of food was good.
Review 31:single room for elderly mum very poky and drab -- stairs ++ breakfast disappointing -- felt like 'Oliver' having to ask for porridge, another slice of toast etc.
Review 32:comfy bed
Review 33:Staff very friendly and helpful. Bed huge and comfortable. Staff helped with our luggage and provided a packed lunch for us on the day we couldn't make the breakfast. We enjoyed our stay and would go back there.
Review 34:The rooms are a little bit cold.
Review 35:The hotel is very nice and warm. The food cooked is excellent. The boss is very nice and kind, he is always disposed to help with everything. We were provided with a cot and everything was perfect for the kids. We would repeat it!
Review 36:Nothing really - slightly weedy shower but probably not much they can do about that
Review 37:Staff really friendly and helpful - I needed to make an early start so they made me a packed lunch to replace the breakfast I missed
Review 38:Sadly the shower didn't work properly but room had a bath so survived . Wouldn't put me off going again but would ask them to check it before I arrived as I prefer showers .
Review 39:Beautiful setting . Very clean and beautiful rooms. Friendly staff and superb breakfast . Well worth the money .Will definitely stay again.

Review 44:Nothing.
Review 45:Great place as a stop over, fantastic friendly staff who couldn't do enough for you. Definitely will be going back when traveling in that part of the world again.
Review 46:A 'Booking.com' room at the end of the corridor. Compact with neither table nor chair. Early morning traffic noise. Shower door was broken.
Review 47:Good breakfast.
Review 48:Staff managed to balance professional efficiency with very welcoming & friendly. Food was good quality & good value. I truly cannot fault anything.
Review 49:Squeaky door closer on the fire door outside the bedroom which screeched every time it was opened and when it closed, waking us up. The décor in our room was somewhat tired BUT we are aware that work is underway to update the rooms and the one we saw which had been completed was very nice indeed
Review 50:Staff, who were very helpful and approachable Room, which was clean and had all necessary amenities Wifi which was free and had a good, strong signal Food, we ate in the hotel both nights and the meals were excellent. The breakfast was more than sufficient with good quality ingredients Location, this is priceless
Review 51:Sausages ok but not as good as our van mans (mobile butchers) near Banbury! Not too keen on the vegetarian risotto but everything else very good.
Review 52:The bar was nice and breakfast very good. Supper was very good too.
Review 53:Shower did not drain fast enough and staff acknowledged it was a problem awaiting repair. We did not mind but others might.

Review 56:How easy it was to book our stay. The professional way we were treated. Everything about the Taynuilt Hotel. We will book again. Thank you Taynuilt Hotel. William Honeyman. (Pot Still SAC).
Review 57:It's right on the main street because it's an old Coaching Inn, but since our room was facing the back it wasn't a big issue. The terrace which came with the room offered no view unfortunately (just wooden walls around it). Breakfast was ok, but dinner was not good value for money.
Review 58:Small little hotel with friendly staff. The deluxe double room was very nice decorated and had a big comfortable bed. Even a big tv and a collection of DVDs to choose from.
Review 59:Hostel situation for the Highlands games and to visit the country around good foods and quantities in the restaurant Everything in the same place : rooms, restaurant, pub
Review 60:I liked the quiet location compared to bustling Oban. The staff was marvelous, the room clean and sunny, and the breakfast incredible. I liked all parts of the business - the 10 room inn also served lunches, had a bar, and had a great restaurant.
Review 61:Can't think of anything
