Review 1：The room had a slight smell of kitchen fumes, but nothing dramatic.

Review 2：The suite 202 was excellent, spacious and well equipped with a wonderful view of the lake. The included breakfast buffet was very good. Parking across the street. Everything within walking distance from the hotel. Would come again!

Review 3：The bar and lounge area allowed smoking and it was awful. So bad we couldn't stay for long to enjoy the afternoon tea & atmosphere. They had a separate non smoking area which was very small & closed off. It didn't have the comfortable furniture nor atmosphere of the much larger lounge area where smokers were permitted. This ruined our enjoyment of the hotel as the room we had was very small where two people could not sit & there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. The owner explained to us it was against Austrian law to have kettles in the rooms. Seems absurd to not allow kettles but smoking is permitted.

Review 4：The location & views were superb & the hotel staff serving breakfast & dinner were amazing! The chef should be commended as it was definitely a fine dining experience. So good in fact we ate dinner there all three nights.

Review 5：The 2 nights we were there , they refused to serve dinner saying there were too many of us. We were a group of 17 who had checked into the place and so they were very well aware of the number of guests. Most of the staff were reluctant to do any of the requests. When the owner sits at the desk , you are either taken care of very well or made to feel like you are trespassing . It didn't swing in our favour here.

Review 7：Not the fault of the hotel, but we didn't realize the hotel was on the edge of town and couldn't find the address. If you arrive in St. Wolfgang by boat from St. Gilgen, turn left, walk past the large Scalaria building and it's just after the pizza restaurant.

Review 8：Our two days in St. Wolfgang were wonderful - neither of us wanted to leave. Relaxing atmosphere at the hotel with balcony w/ view of the beautiful lake, 2-person shower and large room. Excellent breakfast. Nice area on lawn to enjoy the lake. Loved hiking above the town.

Review 12：No air conditioning. We arrived during a heat wave, so very uncomnfortable during the night. Mosquitos in room: Take Jungle Juice etc. We had 30+ bites between us. No record/receipt given by staff of what you were ordering in way of snacks/drinks/meals so note everything down to keep track of what your spending and take it to the desk when checking out to avoid confusion.

Review 13：Fabulous setting overlooking the lake at Saint Wolfgang. Hotel beautifully furnished and plenty of quiet areas to sit in. The staff were absolutely amazing - best experience we'ved had of staff in many years if travelling the world. Hotel exceptionally clean.

Review 14：this hotel has charm, elegance and grace. It was like visiting someones private home with the artifacts, library and perfect retreats for relaxation. Breakfast .....fabulous! Bonus was that it is child free

Review 15：The receptionist shouted to us at the moment we enter the hotel lobby with no greeting at all. Very bad attitude and service to us. We was told at first that the hotel not welcome children and we will not get the room refound because we have children. It's terrible greeting. No any communication with us. They even didn't know where our child will stay. They only care about the money. Poor manager and owner of the hotel!

Review 19：After having. A dinner reservation for two days, the One waitress sat us down at a table with the worse view of the lake. When I mentioned the we had a reservation and pointed to the table that was open, she told me that one was reserved. When we left early in the morning, no one was at the front desk as we were leaving and I went into the kitchen to see if someone could help me find the manager. This same waitress said she was busy and she could not help and the breakfast does not open until 7:30. The other personnel at the hotel were excellent.

Review 21：The hotel charged my credit card without prior notice. When we checked out I asked the male owner /male hotel runner why he charged my credit card as I understood that I was to pay cash, unless otherwise stated. He however said that because I arrived late to check in (I arrived at like 7pm) he already charged my credit card. He apologized but I didn't think he meant it. In fact this man, when checking us in, also appeared unfriendly. The other lady (presumably his wife) is better and more friendly.

Review 22：Nice room, good toilet supplies. Car park very near the hotel costing Euro 7. A pleasant walk into the town of St Wolfgang. We definitely like the fact that there is a lift in the hotel. Very nice breakfast, high quality food.

Review 25：My husband and I loved everything about this hotel. The service in this hotel is outstanding and the owner really knows how to take care of his guests. Also, the buffet breakfast was fabulous. We also had dinner in the hotel. We expected more heavier typical Austrian dishes, but the dinner menu was gourmet and the dishes were excellent :-))

Review 41：We loved everything about Cortisen am See. We received a warm welcome from the owners of this excellent family run hotel. We had arranged to be picked up by the Hotel's private car and they very patiently waited as our flight was very late. The food is superb and surroundings and décor are very pleasing to the eye. Our lake view room was spacious with an added seating area and a generous balcony with table, chairs and sun loungers. The view was truly breath taking. The location is perfect, with the lake at the end of the Hotel lawn, and it is emerald green, clear and perfect to swim in. The town of St Wolfgang is a few minutes walk and full of character. Roland and his family and staff were a pleasure to stay with, they were very attentive and the cakes are divine!! We will definitely look to return again soon.

Review 88：Gorgeous hotel set on the lake of Wolfgangsee very close to the little town of St Wolfgang. Loved the room with balcony and view of lake, lovely lounges next to lake for soaking up the sun and the views. The restaurant attached to this hotel was absolutely superb with both indoor and outdoor seating and views of lake. Bar area was also very comfortable and accommodating. Staff took a personal interest and were very available to assist with any requests. Wonderful breakfast. Now I am looking for another opportunity to stay again at this very special hotel and will definitely be recommending it to my friends.

Review 89：Staying in Mid May we realised that we were not in peak season howeverwe found that we were not welcomed for dinner and had to requestfacilities such as the spa area to be turned on. We were told we were inthe worst room and so encouraged to take a better room as the hotel waslargely empty, although no discount was offered. The bar seemed to beperpetually shut, shutting at 7.30pm one night after which I requestedthat it were to be kept open the following night, whereupon they closedit at 8.30pm with us sitting in it. The above was done because they werequiet so I was shocked when they would not allow us to check out late oruse their facilities after the allotted check out time. For a family runhotel that promised so much, we were left hugely disappointed andtotally aghast at the lack of service.

The hotel is professionally and efficiently run by the Ballner family. It owes much of its attraction to this combination of professionalism on the one hand, and the personal touch, individual care and superbly good taste of a homely atmosphere on the other.As with other St Wolfgangsee hotels, the Cortisen am See is a renovated eighteenth century property. The structure as well as the layout still keep the traditional architecture of the original. But the comparison with similar hotels ends there. Our hotel is home to an eye-riveting abstract paintings and delightful objets d'arts in literally every corner. Wherever one turns, one is greeted with finery and sophistication in an overall simple and unpretentious atmosphere. Needless to say, the place was spotless clean and thus being a feast for the eye and soul.The facilities are user-friendly and the scenery breathtaking. A small garden extends to the side of the lake. One side of the hotel faces the lake, the other the green hills. Our room looked upon the lake and from our balcony we were able to watch the subtle changes of the scene of lake and background mountains under the sun, shade and rain.We once got to use the gym on the first floor and were impressed with its essential equipment and comfortable set-up. DVD's are made available in a small corner right by a TV room. There is also a cigar room, a bar and four rooms for relaxation provided with the latest newspapers, magazines, as well as a fine collection of travel books.The breakfast spread was sufficient and varied with several options to choose from. While there was no hot station available, one could ask for eggs cooked to order. Dinner was equally delicious, more of a gourmet menu with a sophisticated and unusual presentation-- a reminder of exotic plates like for example, steak with mangoes.

Review 109：The design of this hotel is superb! It has the charm, warmth andelegance. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. We got upgradedto a lake view room and I wish we could have stayed there longer. Theview is breath taking. The room had all the ameneties, bath roomameneties are excellent to the details. The fridge in the room is alwaysgreat to chill a bottle. The gardens have wonderful furniture to sunbathe, relax or read in a quiete corner on the lake. The breakfastbuffet has all goods to eat healthy or splurge with wonderful homemadejams, great cheese selection and the eggs how one likes it. Theatmosphere is tranquility because of no children running around. I donot have anything against children however in my vacation I prefer itquiet and no screeming or food throwing kids next to us. We loved thatwe had this choice and believe the decor of this hotel is made to pleaseand very detailed which could be very easy destroyed. The owner made itvery special, he was very helpful and informative. He can be very proudof his Hotel, nothing negative and our next stay in St. Wolfgang willonly be at the Cortisen Hotel. My parents stopped by and where alsotaken by the design, friendly staff and our room with the perfect view.Thank you for a wonderful stay and since I travel professional aroundthe world and stayed in hundreds of hotels, this one was superb specialand most relaxing.
