Reviews for Birchbrae Lodges

Review 1:The Lodge was very well equipped and had everything we needed for our stay. The location, though remote, provided an excellent base for exploring the local area. Both the internet connection and the DVD and games collection were very good, which was a nice bonus! John was also very accommodating and facilitated an earlier check-in than normally allowed.

Review 2:Pillows - very thin and too soft

Review 3:Well equipped kitchen Comfortable and spacious living area Modern facilities, easy to use (washing machine, dish washer etc)

Review 4:Absolutely brilliant. Clean, comfortable and grt location. Also the guy who we called when had any questions was brilliant and soooo helpful. Thanks for making this holiday brilliant :)

Review 5:Wifi was fairly weak in our lodge- it is free I suppose ! Quite expensive but probably a product of the local market.

Review 6:Very comfortable lodges that are clean and well maintained. Well appointed kitchen and great TV and entertainment system. The owner was not around but the cleaning staff we saw on the last day were great- ran after me with a bag I had forgotten on the verandah. We rated this place highly.

Review 7:A welcome pack would have been appreciated even just the basics such as bread milk, couple of tea bags, cereal, juice, cheese or as the lodge is classed as luxury a bottle of wine and a choice of pillows (bit flat). Even an option button to purchase one. Touch up here and there (only Because the lodges are classed as luxury) Remember your midgie repellent.

Review 8:The lodge is set in a beautiful and peaceful area with great walks. It's a little out of the way if your wanting to be next to a town. But a good central base midway between Ben Nevis and Glencoe. (Shops 10/15min drive) Just a 5min walk down the road is a great restaurant called the Inchree four seasons with an open fire, the food is excellent staff welcoming. The lodge its self has everything you would need for a self catering holiday, beds very very comfortable which is a big plus for us, as we have stayed in many self catering lodges and these matresses have definitely been one of the best. There is a small hut with a great selection of board games, DVDs books, lots of information leaflets on things to do, places to eat, menus and timetables. The lodges are perfect for families or a romantic get away.

Review 9:We had a smashing time. Our two year old was beside himself with glee at his 'holiday home'. We walked to the waterfalls via the squirrel enclosure at Inchree one day and enjoyed a very comfortable and relaxing day indoors when it rained. All in all a smashing break.

Review 10:My Lodges is No.4. The Wifi is only available in the living room or outside the lodges.

Review 24:Nothing

Review 25:This is a really nice house, clean modern & well equipped. We spoke to a staff member who was v pleasant.

Review 26:Pretty central for Fort William, Skye, Mull

Review 27:Only having singles available in two of the rooms. Apparently there is a midge machine on the property but there were clouds of these little beasties surrounding our cabin. We couldn't open the windows during our stay and I am still smarting from the 20 bites I got just packing the boot to leave.

Review 28:The games, DVD and puzzle library was a godsend as the weather was dismal for our visit. The bathrooms were nice and there was plenty of piping hot water. Handy location for Glencoe and Fort William. John was lovely to deal with.

Review 29:Restricted parking for the lodges on the lower level but not a big problem as larger parking area. Available. No staff on site during our 3 day stay but could be contacted

Review 30:We stayed in a family lodge which was very clean and fitted out to a very hi standard facilities excellent two shower rooms 3 double or twin rooms. TV did wife surround sound all excellent. Kithchen facilities all you. Could need.
