Reviews for Lakeland Village

Review 1:Nothing but stay was during December which is a quieter off-peak season.

Review 2:Self catering accommodation: spacious, clean and quality furnishings with Patio area and views overlooking the river leven. A few hundred yards from the Lakeland motor museum which is definately worth a visit. Also, cost of stay included a voucher entitling discount for motor museum and facilities at the nearby white water hotel.

Review 3:Having an on site free swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi to use whenever we liked was fab. 7:30am-9:30pm! Accomodation lovely and homely. Beautiful surroundings, loads to visit nearby. Make sure you take kitchen essential ingredients (salt, pepper, sugar etc) as nothing is in cupboards other than crockery and pans. cant wait to go again asap!! X

Review 4:Nothing everything was excellent

Review 5:Location and facilities of nearby WhiteWater hotel spa and pool. Accommodation very well equipped Very clean and of high standard. Towels and linen provided with the additional support of site manager.

Review 6:Scenic location next to River Leven. Very well equipped appartment, everything I needed and allocated parking space Great spa and gym facilities to relax in and use of hotel

Review 7:The restaurants were pretty expensive for drinks and food. Also not as much choice as we would like.

Review 8:Really enjoyed our stay, the facilities in the cottage were great. Also having useof the pool was brilliant.

Review 9:There is nothing not to like about the lakeland village! Had an amazing short break situated right on the river and lit an open fire every night. The restaurant in the adjoining hotel was of really good quality and reasonably priced

Review 10:We had problems with our fridge in our unit, we did report proplem to be told it would b looked at , returned later to still have the same problem nd we ended up having to throw away our fresh shopping ,

Review 11:Nice and quiet location

Review 12:Bit off the beaten track - nowhere to eat except the adjacent hotel unless you are willing to drive.

Review 13:Lovely apartment - all amenities available. Nice health club.

Review 14:Very patchy Internet, and the food in the Dolly Blue Bar was very ordinary - but these are very minor niggles

Review 15:Great apartment, superb location, friendly staff - we all loved it

Review 16:Not all patrons visit by car. A guidance for those visiting by public transport on website or welcome email would be appreciated.

Review 17:Nachiket, Cambridge UK-The first day we arrived, were unable to locate the unit, went back to the hotel. A gentleman(hotel staff) there literally accompanied us, to settle us back in our unit helping us with our luggage. The units were all setup and did not give one single chance of dialing housekeeping/maintenance number. For local tourist information, staff at the hotel gave proactive guidance. I would visit this place for a holiday once again!!!

Review 18:Had a lovely weekend at Lakeland, apartment was spacious, spotless, staff very helpful and meal at the Whitewater Hotel was excellent! We will be back!

Review 19:being disappointed that I could not get an appointment at the spa for a massage and get my nails done

Review 20:being able to sit on the balcony with a drink and see the river so close to the apartment with jumping fish

Review 21:nothing

Review 22:I just came back for a 4 days stay with my parents (60+) my wife and daughter (3), the location is beautiful, overlooking the river, quite. The hotel grill bar was good value for money, and the swimming pool was brilliant, the staff was always helpful and the unit was clean and full equipped, we just paid around £6 at the end for utilities, but we didn't need heating and spent a lot of time out. we definitely coming back.also the location is superb with the steam train at about 5min,windermer 15min and motor museum next door (by car).

Review 23:Having to pay electricity and heating in addition to the tariff. Very expensive add-on. Someone is making a tidy packet out of this. Only cost us a couple of pounds for 3 days but our traveling companions paid 10 pounds. Hate to see what it would be for a couple of weeks.

Review 24:Large apartment best suited to four people not six. Two modern if not small en suites. At the bottom of the Lakes and in my opinion better than staying in Windermere as you can access both sides of the lake easily. The views from the apartments out onto the river where sensational. Beautiful location. Very quiet when we visited. The Dolly Blue Bar served great meals but the service let them down a couple of times.

Review 25:Carpets were tatty. Reception service poor. Bed Linen not fully provided. They do not provide bed sheets, Charged additionally for the Electric Heating. Tried to charge for Coal and Log wood, without providing it. Some car occupied our parking spot blocking access to our cottage and complained to the reception about it. Nothing was done about it. Parking not attended and not controlled. Bed bugs and spiders appeared and jumped out of the duvet. Beds were uncomfortable and bed spread was very dirty.

Review 26:Good Facilities, fairly satisfactory self catering accommodation. Plenty parking

Review 27:The sofa bed was uncomfortable.

Review 28:The apartment was spacious and well equipped. The location is ideal: quiet, beautiful and still close enough to the public transport.

Review 29:Nothing

Review 30:Fantastic location and facilities excellent staff

Review 31:It was not mentioned that electric was not included in the price. You get a bill at the end of your stay.

Review 32:Absolutely freezing, rubbish heating system Bar food overpriced

Review 33:Location Pool

Review 34:The staff in the bar and grill wasnt very friendly. And the chef needs to learn how to cook a steak!

Review 36:Nothing to dislike

Review 39:Peace & Quite

Review 40:Food was very expensive

Review 41:All of it. Especially the river side location.

Review 42:The 10am check out on a Sunday

Review 43:Great Staff, especially the lounge bar staff. Tge soothing sounds of the river all day - brilliant

Review 44:Previous occupiers must have been smokers, despite no smoking policy. However can’t blame Lakeland for that.

Review 45:Practical, sensible, comfortable and peaceful. Just the way we wanted it.

Review 46:food at hotel was strange and poor value and some dishes badly cooked. waiting staff indifferent only 3 comfy seats in lounge - for 4 people! kitchen lacked essentials (only 6 plates so constantly washing them up) NO baking trays, range of dishes provided insufficient

Review 47:surroundings were lovely very clean and neat nice to have dishwash/wash machine powder, bin sacks, loo rolls etc provided parking close by masses of wildlife

Review 48:Nothing negative to say

Review 49:We as a family were fully satisfied, the staff were pleasant and the food was very good. I would not hesitate in returning to this hotel the time share room was very clean and we could not fault it.
