Reviews for Landing Cottage Guest House

Review 1:Beautiful area to visit, relax and enjoy the train or steamer rides only 150 yards away from your stay. Enjoy great restaurants if you love fantastic food and drink. Great choices Lakeside 50 yrds away and Swan Hotel/ Newby Bridge Hotel both within walking distance too. the stay has lovely bedrooms very quiet and relaxing and the breakfast is brilliant, you will get along great with the owner great guy and we are going back for sure.

Review 2:Room was cold & bit damp feeling , bathroom walls & backs of doors need cleaning & far away from bedroom . Radiators probably need to be in in autumn /winter .... It would have been nice if the lounge lights & fire had been on when we arrived , or before ... This room wasn't going to be used , not inviting , the wifi only available here , up grade to follow soon. It didn't work after I tried to log on next day .

Review 3:Bed was comfy & nice bed covers . Nice toiletries . Breakfast, sausage & bacon was nice .

Review 4:nothing ?????

Review 5:it was in a perfect location, it was warm cosy, very comfortable, the breakfasts were very good,it is an ideal place to visit for a two night break. I definitely will be going back & i'am recommending them to everybody. I hope they allow dogs because our miley would love it there first class !!!!

Review 6:Bathroom for another room outside our door was a bit disturbing in the morning but it's a guest house.

Review 7:Great reception and help from the guy running the place. Went out of his way to help. We didn't have breakfast the last day as we were being lazy so didn't get the chance to say thanks!

Review 8:Floorboards creaking due to upstairs guest.

Review 9:Superb host, excellent breakfast, good heating, good shower, nice lounge area although didn't really have time to use it.

Review 10:The food was excellent as were the facilities, the owner suggested places to visit, he placed the weather forecast for the day in the dinning room every morning, and had menus of local places to eat in the lounge. Everything possible was done to make our stay enjoyable. We have never stayed at a more friendlier place, the owner goes that extra mile in every way to make sure his guests are very satisfied with the service and facilities. Definitely would stay there again.

Review 11:Struggled to get a phone signal and taxi due to the location

Review 12:Was made to feel very welcome and the bed and room were very comfortable, breakfast was lovely

Review 13:Wifi only in sitting room, property exterior could do with a clean up, overgrown shrubs, flaking paint, weeds etc, difficult exit onto road unless someone is guiding you due to the bushes, could easily be cut back,

Review 14:modern furniture in suite, Tv in room, proximity to Lake Windermere was excellent, friendliness and service from Colin was superb. Cooked breakfast was also great.

Review 15:Very comfortable bed. Tea coffee and biscuits in the room were very welcome and replenished when used. Stayed for two nights to complete swimming event in Windermere. Very helpful and just across the road from the steamer and steam train stops.

Review 16:WiFi accessible only in common saloon. Shared bathroom, however very clean. A bit in the middle of nowhere, a car is essential.

Review 17:Quiet location, old house run by the owner, very polite and helpful. Clean and comfortable. Free parking.

Review 18:N/A

Review 19:Excellent 1:1 service. Very friendly and incredibly helpful. Great suggestions regarding things to due during our stay and superb local knowledge that helped with finding our way around. Would recommend to all. 10/10!

Review 20:Room smelt a little damp but was okay when aired out with the windows open.

Review 21:Nice to be away from the more touristy places - a quiet location a little off the main tourist track. The host was very helpful, offering just the right amount of info and local knowledge to enhance our stay.

Review 22:The owner and caretaker of the property is a really nice person and tried to make us comfortable throughout our stay. Breakfast is tasty and bespoke. The cottage is 2min walking from the Southern tip of the Windermere lake.

Review 23:bed too small for 2 adults, the wi-fi that was not available in the room and that was not any better downstairs.

Review 24:Colin the host, very helpful and lovely person.

Review 25:Unfortunately as you entered the cottage there was a very unpleasant smell of damp which also spread into the breakfast room and lounge. The extractor fan in the bathroom didn't seem to work which had left some of the bathroom fittings rusty.the bed was also quite uncomfortable.

Review 26:Colin was a very pleasant and helpful host.

Review 27:Wasn't anything I can comment on , to me a comfy bed and lovely breakfast does it for me and both were excellent

Review 28:Bed very comfy , host very chatty and easy to talk to , good laugh ,,area is lovely , couple hotels within a mile walk or drive , breakfast was tops , one of the best full English I have had by far ,,

Review 29:There's a musty smell in the house . The shower room have no hooks to place towel or clothes except 1 small picture frame hook. Room downstairs can hear all the creaking sounds of walking upstairs

Review 30:The owner was polite and helpful

Review 31:Musty smell in lounge and downstairs bedroom. Needs a bit of tlc in areas. Wouldn't take a lot to improve garden area

Review 32:Friendliness and helpfulness of host Colin

Review 33:Quieter area than we expected but can access other areas quickly.

Review 34:Breakfast was excellent. Made extra effort to provide Gluten Free bread. Gave good recommendations for dinner. Location very close to lake. Memory foam mattress was very good.

Review 35:Friendly and relaxed atmosphere with parking facilities, great location as we were attending a great for wedding at The Lakeside Hotel. Breakfast was very good as well.

Review 36:level of cleanliness in the room, en-suite & hotel in general could be a lot better. very limited parking. restricted view when leaving parking area to get on the road that passes the hotel

Review 37:comfortable room, friendly & helpfull owner

Review 38:Bathroom was quite cramped but not a problem as the shower was fine !. There is a distinct 'smell' in the house (although not in the room) but this is obviously a 'doggy smell' from the owners dogs - again not a problem to us

Review 39:Ideally placed for the Lakeside pier Booked for 2 nights for my partners Birthday and was met by the host who was lovely and couldn't do enough for us from minute 1. Extremely comfortable bed (king room) and very warm with the heating on - it was rainy and cold !! Lovely breakfast in the morning, again the host was very welcoming and chatty.

Review 40:More cleaning especially around the edges everywhere was needed...our room was expensive for the size of it. The bathroom was tiny and we could hardly move around in it.the door had never been painted and was grubby,,ditto the wardrobe door. It means we would not recommend it or go back again,,,for not much more per night on the next leg of our journey we stayed in an immaculate hotel with lovely facilities. Cleanliness is THE most important factor in this business.

Review 41:Colin the proprietor was very pleasant and breakfast was very good.

Review 42:Wifi connection was too poor to use in our room.

Review 43:Lovely staff, very attentive - gave us a lift to the nearest shop to buy some food so we didn't have to walk. Very comfortable room, lovely bathrooms, good breakfast.

Review 44:Nothing!

Review 45:Lovely cosy warm very clean room. Excellent breakfast. Colin the owner couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The location, 2 minutes from Lakeside pier was great. Highly recommended, we will be back.

Review 46:Bathroom almost too small and very awkward to use. Lavatory seat excruciatingly painful to sit on!! Too low a level of lighting (smacked of meanness) At £75 per night for the room + breakfast was not good value.

Review 47:Mine Host excellent- Breakfast excellent - Public rooms well thought out and reasonably well decorated. Plenty of room for car parking - no rules (really)

Review 48:Shared bathroom but we knew this when we booked. Slight foisty smell in the corridor but this didn`t put us off our stay.

Review 49:Hospitality and help by the owner with any queries we had about the area. Breakfast was excellent which set us up for a days long hike. Friendliness throughout our stay. Location. Tidy room and facilities in the room. Toilet separate from the shower and a separate bathroom so this wasn`t congested.

Review 50:A very enjoyable stay thanks to our really welcoming and helpful host, Colin. We particularly appreciated the 2 hour period in which to enjoy breakfast. Many tanks; we'll be back!

Review 51:Only one really minor point is that the room on the ground floor was very small and being disabled it made moving around a little difficult

Review 52:Welcome Breakfast Owner/staff Location Information Cleanliness

Review 53:Nothing.

Review 54:Colin was a great host, helpful in every respect. Breakfast was lush, comfortable room and bed, great location as a base for touring away from the crowds. Great value for money.

Review 55:Expensive food and drink at the hotel across the road - you really need a car to go in search of an evening meal.

Review 56:Homely atmosphere and good food. Very handy if want to leave the car behind and use the ferry. Other positive reviews were confirmed when we stayed. Our shower worked fine!

Review 57:B&B was perfect. The Lakeside Hotel hotel almost opposite has very, very, very expensive food and very, very, very expensive drinks. Still, there plenty of very good pubs in the area that do reasonable priced food and 'pub prices' for drinks.

Review 58:This is an excellent Bed and Breakfast; Great price, super location, wonderful breakfast.

Review 59:Parking and access was a bit of a 'mare, but thats just a minor thing really
