Reviews for Grove Guest House
Review 1:The blinds let in the lamplight on the grounds all night, directly on the bed. Slept with a headache.
Review 2:Close to the town centre, great little room in a clean bungalow which easy access. Tea and kettle provided.
Review 3:Nothing.
Review 4:Friendly & welcoming owners who had gone the extra mile to ensure that they catered for my vegan diet at breakfast. Handy location with plenty of off-street parking. Lovely clean room with comfortable bed and nice warm shower. Generous breakfast that set me up for the day! Free WIFI. Great value for money.
Review 5:The layout of the building was that you had your privacy and so did the owners Amanda and Michael. My dog loved all the attention and i felt welcomed and cared for.It certainly was a haven after my long journey from bournemouth that day.
Review 6:Owners live on-site and available. Car park large enough (property once a GP health centre, town centre close to walk to for evening eating. I had no traffic noise at night and room comfy and breakfast v good.
Review 7:When there were guests in the adjoining room you could hear every thing which was not great when they came back at 4am. Also we were unable to have a cooked breakfast on Monday morning as we were the only guests!! We didn't however get offered a discount for that fact.
Review 8:I thought this was a well situated b&b run by a lovely couple. The room was very well presented if a little on the small side. I was offered a bigger room but this didn't have wifi.
Review 9:If im nit picking, the room was a tad small but for the price and what I wanted it was fine.
Review 10:Very nice owner and the room was excellent for what I required. Thank you
Review 11:Nothing
Review 12:Owners were as nice as you will find anywhere. Couldn't do enough to help. Offered me breakfast earlier as I needed to check out early. Highly recommended.
Review 13:THAT THE BLINDS ON THE WINDOWS DID NOT MAKE ME FEEL SECURE WOULD OF PREFERED CURTAINS
Review 14:THAT IT WAS CLOSE TO THE TOWN AND EVERYWHERE ELSE AND YOU WAS MADE TO FEEL WELCOME
Review 15:shower was mouldy quite badly so and cleaning in bathroom was not up to standard of bedroom which was excellent
Review 16:room was lovely. Couple were lovely and welcoming. Room was very clean
Review 17:Friendly welcome, rooms modern and spacious rooms were cleaned to a very high standard good location short walk to town centre highly recommended
Review 18:Breakfast is only served from 8am till 9 am TOO LATE for the people who are on the road. 7 am till 9 would be better. Paper thin walls between rooms hears every cough and tv programme !!!.
Review 19:Good parking area. Bedroom all ok with the usual trimmings.
Review 20:Was unaware that I needed to reserve a breakfast at an extra charge, so we did not eat at the B&B
Review 21:Very comfortable bed. Good location to town centre. Wifi available. Parking available.
Review 22:Breakfast - no meat alternatives for vegitarians.. Needs extra cutlery on table. If wet have to go outside to dinning room.
Review 23:Clean, comfortable, fluffy towels, friendly some noisy guests. Good parking, good location near restaurants.
Review 24:It was all perfect for us.
Review 25:It was so welcoming the moment we stepped in to the reception with a lovely couple who treated you as guests.they explained everything and even suggested where to eat out, this was a great help as new to area.the smell of cleanliness hit you as you open the bedroom door and the room reflected the beautiful smell.breakfast was amazing big, plenty of it and fresh and hot.would definitely stay again.thankyou Amanda and partner.
Review 26:There was nothing not to like about the Guest House or the owners. Everything was to our satisfaction and we were made to feel very welcome.
Review 27:It was convenient to the town but in a very nice location.
Review 28:It was easy to get to by car, plenty of off road parking, 10 minute stroll into town centre and in a pleasant location. Mike and Amanda were very welcoming. My room was clean and tidy. WiFi access was easy. Breakfast was good.
Review 29:The bed moved a little now and then when I tossed and turned.
Review 30:The owners, whose names escape me, were two of the friendliest people I have met. You definitely won't be hungry after the breakfast either!
Review 31:The Grove Guest House Manager, Amanda liaised with coach company and Police to help me retrieve my suitcase; assistance way beyond the call of duty. This Guest House is immaculate and in a perfect location; I unreservedly recommend it.
Review 32:We booked a double room and a twin, but the twin was also made up as a double by mistake. The owners were unable to get the room staff back to change it so we were given another twin which was much smaller than the original room. The beds were comfortable enough but it was rather cramped.
Review 33:The location was handy to central Wrexham and easy to find. The double room (#1) was spacious and very sunny.
Review 34:Walls very thin - could hear someone snoring in another room, and used by lots of commercial travellers I think, so could hear showers and rattling coat hangers from 6am
Review 35:Good location and close to town. Lovely hosts.
Review 36:Amanda and Mike (the hosts) are super friendly and made me feel most welcome from the moment I stepped in, till the time I left. Fantastic and fast WIFI. Excellent breakfasts.
Review 37:Rubber under sheet made the nights sleep uncomfortable. Small shower in large bathroom. Expensive for b & b and they charged extra for Breakfast. £65 plus £14 =£79 for two .
Review 38:The bedroom was ok , nice bathroom , small shower if you are a large person. Parking was good.
Review 39:I would've liked to have been able to get breakfast without booking in advance, but the guest house is only ten minutes walk from town and any number of cafes so it wasn't a problem.
Review 40:Mike and Amanda were very kind and welcoming. Boo the dog is a treat. The booklet in the room was very useful and helped me plan my free day. The room was lovely and very comfortable.
Review 41:all was fine, no complaints.
Review 42:The owners are lovely and friendly, it is clean, cozy and comfortable. They have a good parking space and the place itself is beautiful.
Review 43:We were welcomed with a smile and made to feel very welcome. Our room was very spacious and exceptionally clean. Beds were comfortable and slept very well. The wifi was free and we were delighted that we could 20% off at frankie&bennys, pizza express and nandos if we presented the room key. Excellent money saver and works on a saturday night too! t
Review 44:The owners of Guest House are extremely friendly and hepful to me. The rooms are very clean, breakfast is luxury. The Guest House is very close to City Centre. I would suggest this house to everyone who have a plan visit Wrexham.
Review 45:The room hadn't been fully checked following the last use and some of the welcome pack(wifi info) was more missing so we had to go ask for it. There was evidence of black mil due on the bathroom which let the overall standard down. Tv was hard to work out and there were no instructions. Overall though it was absolutely fine and better than I would expect for the price
Review 46:Convenience off main road. Staff not in your face once you got your room key you were left alone, but staff very willing to help when needed and very pleasant. Much better than expected for the price, despite the comments opposite.would use again
Review 47:soundproofing could be better. I switched off tv as I realised it might disturb others.
Review 48:The personal welcome by the owners. The neat and pleasant bedroom layout, two bedside lamps as well as fixed lighting, desk space, and a nice chair, and above all, the comfy bed! The setting is also lovely, beech trees, gravelled parking space, quiet surroundings, yet only 5 minutes' walk from the centre of town. Brilliant! I'll be back!
Review 49:This is a lovely, clean and comfortable guest house in a convenient location. Our 2 night stay here was for the purpose of a cycling event and the owners couldn't do enough to help make our stay an enjoyable one, they were very friendly, extremely helpful and Amanda cooks the best omelettes for breakfast!! We'll definitely be staying here again.
Review 50:Lovely room, very helpful owners, good breakfast, easy parking... a good experience. We were particularly impressed by the workmanship that had gone into making the rooms and the dining area.
Review 51:Minor irritations - bulb not working in bedside light and some bulbs not working in hallway. Bedside clock battery not working, pillow slightly lumpy. TV at side angle. Omelette slightly burned.
Review 52:Clean and friendly. Fridge, good shower and bathroom, nice décor.
Review 53:The TV didn't have a signal and as our room was next to the door the sound of guests coming and going late on Saturday night/early Sunday morning was quite intrusive.
Review 54:This was our third or fourth visit. The location is very convenient and staff and owners friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable.
Review 55:absolutely nothing at all
Review 56:clean, pretty rooms which are comfortable. kettle and mineral water bottles provided without charges. car parking space is available as well.
Review 57:I stayed here as a last minute booking when a family member was rushed to Wrexham hospital from holiday in Wales. I can't speak highly enough of the guest house or the owners. The owners were incredibly friendly and sympathetic to all our needs - even finding my aunt a room after midnight, without even a hint that we were putting them out. Their generosity in providing not just a breakfast that we hadn't ordered but an impromptu counselling session will always stay with me. At a difficult time for us, they both did everything they could to make things easier, not just as good hosts but as good people. Thank you!
Review 58:Only minor unpleasant detail were the bit rubbery mattress covers, which made sleeping somewhat sweaty!
Review 59:Comfortable and clean room, very helpful staff, good location, pleasant environment. All in all we would warmly recommend staying in here.
Review 60:Quite a way from anywhere to (a) buy a morning paper and (b) get an evening meal.
Review 61:Lovely couple, Mike and Amanda, running the place. They were very kind and attentive. Comfy bed, nice en-suite shower.
Review 62:Lovely welcome of lovely hosts hotel was spotless rooms were lovely our hosts were lovely and friendly breakfast was beautiful could not fault one thing
Review 63:The room was a bit small to be comfortable. I had to move my suitcase out of the way to get out the door and the space was very limited. The lack of remote control was only a problem because the buttons on the side were very difficult to see. I watched tv on my laptop instead as this was easier to manage.
Review 64:The owner was very friendly, remembered my name. Buffet breakfast suited me well and the berry salad was lovely.
Review 65:Very friendly hosts. Great advice for attractions and restaurants. Would love to visit again in the near future.
