Reviews for Ramada Plaza Wrexham
Review 1:Breakfast was n't great (I think a coach party had just been in and there was little left ) when I asked a younger member of staff for some plates she said someone else would sort it out , but it took another request to a member of staff to get plates. To be fair though a older member of staff was very helpful and replenished stocks of food etc.
Review 2:Being upgraded . Rooms were spacious and comfortable.
Review 3:Breakfast was only average, scrambled eggs had been kept warm for too long, although very good back bacon.
Review 4:Easy to find, plenty of parking and in a good location for business. Very nice modern room, clean and well maintained
Review 5:The breakfast was totally disgusting. The service at breakfast was unacceptable. The staff were also setting up tables around our table whilst we were trying to eat through some disgusting food setting up for a Christmas function. A full refund was given back for the breakfast once a complaint was made. The lobby of the hotel is very bland, little seating, cold and very uninvited. However the reception staff were very nice and helpful.
Review 6:The room met our expectations, clean and comfortable.
Review 7:Bar meal excellent, restaurant not so good.. Saturday evening meal quite poor, if a chef cannot cook turkey and beef and make edible roast potatoes then its a crying shame!!! Breakfast tasty but only luke warm, breakfast service on the sunday morning very poor. Staff more concerned laying tables for a function later that morning.
Review 8:Lovely room, bed a little soft for our liking. Room rather hot too.
Review 9:Usually stay here when travelling through Wrexham. It's expensive for Wrexham, and I don't think that is reflected in the facilities. We pick it because we are familiar with it, and it's nice and quiet usually.
Review 10:The 'gym' was very poor. Only 2 cardio bits of equipment - 1 treadmill and an exercise bike that didn't work.
Review 11:The room was very large and extremely comfortable
Review 12:We were not very happy with the standard of food provided at both dinner and breakfast. There were basic errors in a couple of dishes at dinner. Breakfast options were limited and more care might have been taken to serve fresh produce / dishes.
Review 13:The staff were all pleasant and helpful.
Review 14:Tastefully-decorated, contemporary rooms with good en suite facilities, TV, iron, mini bar and tea/coffee making facilities. 24hr reception and room service was a bonus, particularly as we arrived late after a long journey. Would recommend the Bailey's hot chocolate.
Review 15:The Internet connection is not free (except for the first 30 minutes). This is not made very clear while many cheaper hotels do have free Internet. The shower was pretty old-fashioned, too.
Review 16:Big room.
Review 17:No gluten free options in hot lunch buffet Bed not very comfortable Quite highly priced - breakfast not included Wifi did not work
Review 18:Location and restaurant Friendly staff
Review 19:Receptionist who checked us in was surly and rude. Bar area poor and slow service. Breakfast poor and expensive. Tea & coffee help yourself hot water in jugs was not hot enough to make a decent brew.
Review 20:Lovely room one of nicest I've stayed in. Bed could have been comfier and sheets didn't seem to fit properly. Mini bar available but not yet stocked
Review 21:We chose this hotel as we wanted a relaxed spa break after a hard weeks work, but children had been in the pool/spa and contaminated it.This resulted in closure of the facilities, therefore it wasn't the spa break that we had hoped for.
Review 22:The Kings suite was beautiful.Staff excellent.
Review 23:Finding the hotel. Can you get rid of the roundabouts. Totally confusingfor tourists. I have been told Swindon has even more but I don'tbelieve it.
Review 24:Very helpful Receptionist. Gave great directions. Room very nice andbig.
Review 25:Being woken up early by groups of cyclists banging on my door ! Finding damage to my car next morning
Review 26:Very comfortable Surroundings friendly staff
Review 27:The mattresses are the worst I have slept (or tried) on for a long time. We moved rooms only for there to be a topper on the mattress which was also well past its best so it was just as uncomfy. The pillows had stains on. We got discount which was appreciated but should have been inspected
Review 28:The staff are great, helpful and friendly and the rooms/areas are generally very clean. Easy access off main route in.
Review 29:Had to pay for internet after 30 minutes. TV in room was not HD and poor choice of channels. Room rate did not include breakfast and cost of breakfast was too expensive.
Review 30:Modern hotel with well appointed facilities. Nice sized room. Free car parking
Review 31:The restaurant was 1/4 full but they could not seat me for 45 minutes due to it being too busy! Just as well because when I left the hotel grounds in my car I noticed the bins to the side of the kitchen... overflowing and dirty is an understatement.
Review 32:I left my toothpaste at home but the reception staff gave me a little tube and a new toothbrush.
Review 33:Rudeness of reception and house keeping staff. The first room we went into weren't even clean the bed hadn't been made, there were dirty towels on the floor and a cup of coffee on the side this is disgraceful after we paid £80. We had no apology we got given a disabled room, the walls are thin can hear everything from the rooms beside. Before we even got to our second room we had been given the wrong key. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I'd rather stay in a hostel Atleast the bed would be made.
Review 34:That we actually had a made bed to sleep in.
Review 35:There were only 4 TV channels (ch4 didn't work). This is very poor in this day and age, they didn't even have freeview. Internet access was free for me as I was in an exec room but everyone else had to pay, about £8 per day, I believe. I heard a lot of people complaining.
Review 36:Clean. Large comfortable room. Location
Review 37:Nothing!
Review 38:Brilliant hotel, one of the best we stayed in for a night away. Room was spacious, spotlessly clean with nice facilities. Would really recommend!!
Review 39:The breakfast was dreadful. Milk for cereal warm. Fried eggs and bacon hard and cold. Coffee cold. Dining room had not been cleaned from the previous night. Second day we went to a transport cafe
Review 40:Large clean and comfortable bedroom
Review 41:The hotel itself is a little out of wrexham, but there are taxis ready available for about £4 each way to wrexham. The hotel was great and the staff were helpful, will go again.
Review 42:The TV in room 115 had interference issues through the evening.
Review 43:The location was excellent and the hotel easy to find. Nice and easy check and the staff were very helpful.
Review 44:quality of bedrooms, ease of registration etc.. courtesy, helpfulness and friendliness and calmness of Sophie receptionist - has qualities of a manager!
Review 45:Probably timing but my breakfast was cold, had we come down later when food had been renewed, would have been hotter!
Review 46:Lovely obliging staff and a really modern, clean and comfy room.
Review 47:Sauna wasn't switched on, no tv remote in the room and some staff were vague with regard to information about hotel services.
Review 48:Clean comfortable rooms. Evening meal and breakfast were good.
Review 49:Why oh why can't hotels make wifi free? It seems so miserly to offer 30 mins free and then try to extract 10£ for 24 hrs access.
Review 50:Cool modern hotel, easily accessible from all routes. Rooms clean and modern with great bathroom. Bar and restaurant reasonable with good fare.
Review 51:No hot water from 8.30. No hot food at lunch as no gas. Surly barman. Dirty parts of room including grimy remote, hair in bed broken fixtutres.
Review 52:Good size room.
Review 53:Lack of Business Centre for printing etc Expensive wifii - woudl excpect this to be free in a hotel of this status
Review 54:Evening meals were very good Cheerful and helpful reception staff
Review 55:It was not possible to rest due to Loud music in a private party held in the hotel. We were charged extra to change room. Inconceivable in a 4 stars hotel.
Review 56:A shame it wasn't free WiFi
Review 57:The room was very spacious, clean and had everything we required. We asked for a later check out, which we got no problem.
Review 58:Other guests running up and down corridors and banging on doors all night. Random phone call to the room phone was unexplained. We never slept.
Review 59:The hotel was clean and modern.Lovely location.
Review 60:Breakfast was terrible, items in buffet were cold and choice limited for nearly £13 per person. Plates, cutlery and cups were stained and dirty. On checkout we found items on our bill for meals for the night before that were charged at a time before we had even arrived. I asked if identity was checked when orders were taken and I was told meals charged to a room had to be signed for, however the receipt was blank. These items, together with Internet charges (that had not been explained) and for phone calls I had not made were removed. I expected more from Ramada Hotels and have stayed in other of their hotels previously without mishap. I would think twice before staying in the Wrexham one again. I will add that they were very apologetic at check out but I don't expect to have to complain in the first place.
Review 61:Room was comfortable and well equipped.
Review 62:No really bad experience, the bacon was a little tough but plenty of other choices for breakfast.
Review 63:The room was excellent and the bar was pleasant and quiet.
Review 64:The self service buffet was a little bland and the cooked food looked as if it had been out for too long before being replaced. Does anyone enjoy dryed up eggs and baked beans?
Review 65:Great to have been given an upgrade to an executive room. Very comfortable and well equiped.
Review 66:I thought the room rate of £80 per night should have included breakfast . Wi fi must be free.
Review 67:Easy access and plenty of parking available . The rooms are a good size . Good to have ironing board and fridge available for your own use .
Review 68:Very helpful staff regarding my wife's particular dietary needs. Helpful also about arranging a short extension past check out time. Generally good pleasant service and a comfortable room.
Review 69:Breakfast cups were stained inside. Water in hot tub not that hot.
Review 70:Mini spa facility was nice as only us. Room was really nice, and quiet. Room service dinner was good.
Review 71:Free wifi for 30 mins never works. Should not have to pay for wifi when staying guest. Bar closes at 10.30 There are minibar price lists in rooms, but minibars are all empty!?!
Review 72:Staff friendly
Review 73:I left very expensive shampoo and conditioner in my room and the following day after checkout it was not there !!!!! Only one tea bag and 2 milk sachets
Review 74:Large spacious modern room
Review 75:nothing very good ,well run hotel
Review 76:lovely friendly greeting at the reception. your staff on reception are exceptional . nothing was too much trouble and all done with a smile . thankyou nice to know customer service is important
Review 77:The bed was soft and saggy. We discovered it only when going to bed so we were too tired to ask for a room change
Review 78:Friendly, helpful staff, lovely tasty bar food.
Review 79:Charging for WiFi after 30 mins. Time to stop that now, surely? Restaurant evening menu is a bit unimaginative but the quality of meal was fine
Review 80:Better than expected comfort and facilities in the standard bedrooms. Quiet Charming staff Good value for money
Review 81:Over-priced breakfast - we went to Sainsbury's for a much better deal; Charges for Wi-Fi - this should be free of charge; TV channels were very limited
Review 82:Room was of a good size and very comfortable
Review 83:Bar seating a bit dated and uncomfortable. No decent British bitters on draught. Very weak/no phone signal on ground floor (OK on 3rd floor), although of course, hotel not to blame for that. Hefty charge for internet use, many hotels now free.
Review 84:Friendly helpful staff. Good food. Comfortable room. Good to see the old Wrexham Lager re-born (Now called WXM), although its always tasted a trifle sweet to my palet and still does, but its still better than any other British-brewed lager.
Review 85:The room was next to the boiler room, which made a noise like an aeroplane all night, when I told the receptionist in the morning she said it switches off at 10pm, on this occassion it did'nt. Shame as otherwise the facilities were good!
Review 86:Location, Facilities, room size.
Review 87:Slightly overpriced restaurant with very small portions. Food was not up to the fine dining prices - e,g very tough pigean breast, very small starters. Did not realise a bar supper menu was available in the bar where we watched guests enjoying heartier portions when we were left somewhat hungry after two courses in the restaurant.
Review 88:Room was warm, comfortable - bathroom spacious with great shower and big bath. Friendly welcoming staff. Only stayed one night but was impressed. Good value accommodation.
Review 89:Booked a standard double room and got upgraded to an executive room free of charge. Staff are always lovely and helpful and rooms are immaculate.
Review 90:Equipment for keeping breakfasts hot is is not fit for purpose.(This is typical of other hotels which use similar equipment).Surely in the 21st century, hotels should be able to aquire equipment which could do this job better
Review 91:Arrived early to leave luggage but were offered our room.Brilliant Comfortable, well designed, well equipped and clean room.
Review 92:having a room bang opposite the lift - noise pollution. used tea mugs, or unwashed mugs left in room. black hairs in bath. lamps being to close to bed, I actually knocked the lamp while in bed and the bulb and shade dropped of, I repaired it myself once ready for leaving as didn't want to catch it again. the free 30 min wifi was that slow that I wouldn't want to pay for the pleasure of constant use...
Review 93:ok twin room, comfy beds. tea and coffee facilities (even though the mugs left for use were filthy)
Review 94:Charging for wifi beyond the complimentary 30 mins.
Review 95:Large guestroom and functional bathroom. Every hotel should be of this standard: very few are in the UK.
Review 96:Loud guests in adjacent rooms making phone calls in the corridor at 04:00 am whilst his wife / girlfriend shouts at him from the room. Solution - don't put business guests and other guests on the same floor
Review 97:Nice big room, comfortable bed
Review 98:poor wifi speed; hot food at breakfast was a little unloved; can't really walk anywhere from the hotel. Bar area was sterile and didn't know what it was (bar? lounge? waiting area?)
Review 99:Very good bed; nice bathroom; shower drained well (rare!); good lighting in room; fairly big space.
Review 100:Breakfast was fine - but no different to any other hotel: where were the Welsh local ingredients??
Review 101:Excellent staff A warm welcome Re-jigged times were not a problem neither was a very early leaving time. Plenty of parking and easy to find
Review 102:The bar and restaurant don't have much atmosphere so not the place for a romantic weekend but due to the location (on a business park) it is likely that most people are here for business or for a particular reason. As they want you to buy their TV package only a few TV stations are available which we found annoying.
Review 103:The staff were helpful, friendly and professional. Our room was clean and as the hotel is purpose built the rooms are well appointed and relatively quiet. We enjoyed drinks in the hotel bar and had a buffet meal in the restaurant which was fine.
Review 104:We were doing the Etape Cymru as were some other guests. The hotel had La Vuelta showing on the bar tv; laid on a fixed price special buffet for cyclists and staff arrived extra early to provide breakfast so we could get to the event in time. If only other places did the same!!
Review 105:Not enough tea and sugar sachets in room but reception happy to replace. Breakfast was really expensive and less choice than I would have expected from a hotel of this type.
Review 106:Lovely rooms, very big and comfortable. Very easy to find. Staff really friendly. Bar food really lovely and a great choice available.
Review 107:Air conditioning too cool in bar area. Breakfast not wonderful, coffee cold paid full price for continental breakfast! cereal and toast not worth it.
Review 108:Quiet night's sleep - it was a Monday and Tuesday night stay!
Review 109:not muck knowledge on where to get buses to destinations no steam room
Review 110:very caring staff especially 1st aid and calling emergency services when I was taken ill excellent adaptation with food allergies food fresh cooked caring and helpful staff. nothing was too much
Review 111:Breakfast pricey as not included in room rate, spa pool a bit small, would be great if the hotel had a pool!
Review 112:Executive room was big enough for the four of us, room service was decent quality, fast, and reasonably priced.
Review 113:Nothing we didnt like.
Review 114:We were very pleased with our room after we were upgraded to the executive room free of charge, room service was quick and the gentlemen were very polite.
Review 115:We specifically booked the executive room. It was set up for one person ie towels, toiletries for one! The advertised executive lounge was a room with chairs and a tv. No drinks or light refreshments! We asked on arrival and were fobbed off with a variety of reasons! Suffice to say don't expect the executive lounge to be as described on website or leaflets!
Review 116:Continental breakfast overpriced , so made do with tea & biscuits in the room
Review 117:Room was clean , spacious well supplied with toiletries & tea making facilities
Review 118:Location was excellent about 1 mile from Central Wrexham, 10 miles from Chester, just off motorway very easy to find. Beautiful hotel so so clean was going to upgrade to executive floor but was unavailable for our stay had a look at executive floor on day of departure and guess what the only difference is the size of the room just a shade bigger. Lovely stay would highly recommend this hotel, I am very fussy about my hotels but this one ticked all the boxes for me, great value for money !!!!
Review 119:We didn't get chance to use the facilities but were not quite sure what we could use
Review 120:the hotel in general was easy to find , the staff were excellent and very helpful
Review 121:The spa pool (a whirlpool) was not very hot and no wifi. They charged 6.95 pounds for wifi access.
Review 122:During a heat wave, the air conditioning was great. The hotel had all the latest features, plus luxury items like robes, slippers, etc. would definitely stay there again.
Review 123:The staff at breakfast were a bit stretched as there were quite a few residents. Some food choices ran out but they were eventually replaced.
Review 124:The rooms were spacious and the towels were lovely! The staff were efficient and friendly.
Review 125:Small points: Very few drawers in the bedroom. Modest choice for the buffet breakfast, especially breads and pastries.
Review 126:The staff were excellent: friendly, helpful and efficient. The evening meal in the restaurant was very good. Our room was spacious.
Review 127:Slightly more expensive than I would normally like to pay but obviously I knew the price before we booked so can't really complain.
Review 128:The hotel was very stylish, modern, loved the layout of the room. The breakfast was great and the food from the lounge bar was very good. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful.
Review 129:Breakfast a little expensive
Review 130:Bit noisy as they always seem to have events happening when I stay there The pillows made my head sweat
Review 131:The room was excellent as was the breakfast
Review 132:Restaurant food was just OK Bar should serve real ales
Review 133:Very friendly staff Great rooms Bonus of mtg band we had come up to see
Review 134:modern hotel
Review 135:Room was nice and spacious and very comfortable
Review 136:Nothing
Review 137:Room was exceptionally presented
