Reviews for Beam Guest House
Review 1:It would have been nice to have an option of fruit or yogurt at breakfast. Not everybody wants a cooked meal.
Review 2:We were made to feel so welcome. Couldn't do enough for us.
Review 3:The childrens beds were very uncomfortable and the springs could be felt through the mattress. We only had one child with us so put the spare duvet under the sheet and she slept well. Toppers/foam would resolve this.
Review 4:Friendly helpful hosts. Delicious freshly cooked breakfast. Especially helpful for my daughters food intolerances. Very clean. Lots of hot water Flexibility on checking in later than expected. Wifi throughout and good signal.
Review 5:Very central for Clacton. Lots of tea and milk. Not woken by seagulls which can be a problem when you are close to the sea. I think the statue's of the owls on the flat roof did the trick.
Review 6:1st time we have stayed at this guest house. It is in a quiet location and will suit most people that prefer to be away from the noise of the centre breakfast are excellent as also are Jen and Les,excellent hosts.
Review 7:Beds are too small for a 1,88 Dutchman / shower is a bit odd. Even though I had an okay experience at the beam house, it isn't a 9,5 like booking.com showed. The beds were quite loud and springy.
Review 8:Location is good. Arrived late because of the ferry, but this was no problem. Breakfast was nice.
Review 9:ONLY ONE WAS THAT WE HAD TOP FLOOR ROOM AND A LOT OF STAIRS
Review 10:JENNY AND LES PUT OUT ALL STOPS TO MAKE OUR STAY GREAT NOTHING WAS TO MUCH TROUBLE ROOMS WHERE CLEAN AND ITS A GOOD LOCATION AND THEY WERE VERY HELPFULL
Review 11:Les and Jenny took the time to welcome us and suggest some local attractions, including a very nice coffee shop! On the catering side, the food was excellent, nothing was too much trouble and the service was very prompt.
Review 12:Nothing not to like
Review 13:Home from home - wonderful welcome! Immaculate and comfortable room. Tasty home-cooked breakfast! So nice we decided to stay an extra night! Planning to return again next year!! Thank you Jenny & Les
Review 14:Excellent Hotel, wonderful helpful hosts, could not do enough for us. The breakfast was very good. We were only there one night for a cruise but would stay there again.

Review 16:Charming couple, very friendly, interested in our reason for stay including bacon sandwiches at 6.30am as we had to leave early for a Triathlon!
Review 17:Beds were old and very, very creaky.
Review 18:Excellent location. Les and Jenny welcoming and when my husband was unfortunately taken ill, caring and went out of their way to help. Highly recommend this establishment for comfort and friendliness.
Review 19:Jen and Les are a great couple who made us all feel completely at home. The house is lovely and the room was spotlessly clean. Only a two minutes stroll from the sea! We will definitely be back next year x

Review 23:There was nothing to dislike.
Review 24:Absolutely everything was perfect. The hosts Les & Jenny were amazing & nothing was too much trouble, they just wanted to ensure your comfort at all times. It was without doubt the best Guest House we have ever stayed in.It was one minute's walk to the seafront & about 7 minutes walk to town centre. Westcliff Theatre is 5minutes walk from Beam Guest House, so very near to main amenities.
Review 25:None
Review 26:Close to seafront. Room was clean, well presented & it had a settee which made it more homely & comfortable. Jenny & Les were friendly and made us feel at home. Les took us to the railway station when we were due to leave which was much appreciated.
Review 27:No negatives
Review 28:Lovely clean bed and breakfast. Les and Jenny were extremely friendly and very welcoming, their hospitality was wonderful. Would definitely stay again x
Review 29:Very heavy duvets for this time of year. Toast served on side plates rather than a toast rack. Very minor details but enough for us not to give an overall excellent.
Review 30:Location, the owners, peace and quiet and cleanliness.
Review 31:Friendly and sociable host without being obsequious. Clean bedroom and bathroom, well appointed and a very comfortable bed. The shower was powerful and very refreshing after a long and sweaty walk.

Review 38:Les and Jenny were very welcoming. Everywhere was beautifully clean. Comfy bed and good breakfast. We would most definitely stay there again if we were going to Clacton.
Review 39:Upon arrival Jen was friendly and informative of both the facilities at her guest house but also of knowledge of needs in the local area. The room was spotless, freshly decorated and warm. Breakfast was delicious and a warm welcome first thing in the morning is always nice.
Review 40:The room was maybe a little bit on the small side for 4 beds, but in the end fine.
Review 41:The location just 2 min from the beach was perfect, Jenny and Less were the bests hosts. Very clean.
Review 42:Bed a bit short for a tall person.
Review 43:Friendly, helpful & hospitable hosts. Good breakfast. Off-street parking. Close to the sea & pubs for dinner.
Review 44:my only problem was that everytime you moved in the bed it really creaked badly we had to put cushions behind the headboard
Review 45:Very friendly and welcoming, breakfast was lovely. would visit again.
Review 46:Les & Jenny make you feel welcome from the start. Nothing is too much trouble even my fussy veg breakfast! Excellent stay would recommend to all.

Review 51:Beam Guest House is a lovely place to stay in Clacton with a warm welcome from Les and Jenny and a delicious breakfast. Our room was very comfortable and clean and we would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone looking to stay in Clacton.
Review 52:When booking I read through all the previous reviews which helped my decision to stay at this guest house. Les and Jenny were most welcoming and there nothing was too much for them. The room was spotlessly clean and bright and warm. The bed was comfy and the breakfast was lovely. We felt like we were staying with old friends. I would like to thank Les and Jenny for their wonderful hospitality and assistance whilst we stayed with them. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely guest house. It is also close to all the local amenities within a short walk, and situated in a quiet area.

Review 60:I liked the comfort of the bed, willingness of owners to oblige, cleanliness of the house, in fact everything about it. The owners were very friendly and informative of what was happening in town.
Review 61:Beam guest house is a very worm and welcoming b&b, very helpful. We had an amazing night sleep. We spent two nights and the whole time it rain. So a lot of time was spent in the room. Would defiantly stay again, next time with better weather. :)
Review 62:I forgot my hairdryer and could not find one in the room so had to go down to breakfast with wet hair and ask for a hairdryer that was provided on request. Clacton was a little sparce on good quality dog friendly places to eat in the evening but the owners were very good with helping us to find somewhere suitable. Otherwise it was perfect and excellent value for money.
Review 63:The room was a good size and well decorated with a lovely bathroom. Breakfast was better then in some very much more expensive hotels that we stayed in. The owners were very friendly and welcomed us and our two labradors. It was within easy walking distance of a lovely sandy beach with a section that dogs were allowed on.
Review 64:Should have mentioned when we left the lime tree where we parked gave off a very sticky sap - you need to let people know
Review 65:Friendly team who are making a real effort
Review 66:Everything! nothing to fault. Stayed with my daughter Grace while her sister was travelling in Peru doing charity work and my husband unable to come. First time we had been away on our own. Les and Jenny made us so welcome we stayed an extra night. We will be back.
Review 67:The noise that the bathroom made. I think it was the Saniflo system within the guest house. When putting on the light and using the loo, it made such a racket and you heard everyone elses. Everyone new what you were up to!!!
Review 68:The couple Les and Jen made my daughter and I feel very welcome. They always met you when you returned back to the guest house after a day out which I thought was a homely/friendly touch. Plus Les ran me to McDonalds one night when my daughter felt peckish. As unfortunately I had a toe injury. It only took 10 minutes of his time but it was a very nice thing for him to do!
Review 69:To be honest there was nothing, not to like.
Review 70:Les and Jenny made you feel very welcome. The deco was excellent. Plenty of tea, coffee, hot chocolate. Plenty of milk cartons. Bedroom very comfortable and pillows just right. Review 77:There are only positive things to say. The hosts make you feel at home, breakfast is fantastic. When we stayed at Beam Guest house we also had brilliant weather. We got good suggestions for excellent restaurants, we took a taxi to a restaurant with an amazing man who resembled the King of Norway and we got a intensive course in the history of England during the taxi journey;) The bed in our room was not perfect and the pillows a bit hard but it was offset by the very pleasant stay at this nice guest house!
Review 78:Les and jenny the couple running this guesthouse are very welcoming and friendly. The photos on booking.com do not do the rooms justice as it is much nicer in reality. I look forward to staying here again.
Review 79:The Beam is owned and run by husband and wife Les & Jenny. What a fantastic couple they are. Nothing is too much trouble for their guests. Jen cooks up a mean breakfast with lovely service at the table by Les and the best coffee! It's clean, comfortable and most of all you can relax and feel at home which at times is so important. Stayed here with my 2 sisters and my family will definitely be staying here again. Thank you both!
