Review 4:Nothing. Super place and excellent base for exploring the area.

Review 5:Pleasant & friendly staff. Clean, comfortable and warm room. Excellent shower & efficient free wifi. Lots of parking & nice grounds. Didn't eat there but menu looked good. Wrexham>Chester bus stops right outside hotel.

Review 6:See above

Review 7:Nothing as travelled to hotel and was told our room was flooded, out of the whole hotel just our room! Hotel had not contacted me prior to advise, very poor customer service and then they tried to send us to a different hotel miles away! No apology. Very poor.

Review 8:Service in the hotel wasnt great, there was a wedding on and we werent part of the wedding party which meant we were somewhat over looked. Bathrooms are dated

Review 9:Very basic stop over

Review 10:Too much noise from adjoining rooms, corridor. Televisions loud even after midnight. So much noise did not get to sleep until 3am. We were not made aware when booking in that there was all night security, otherwise we would have notified them

Review 11:Breakfast on the Saturday was a little dis-organised but that did not distract from the overall stay.

Review 12:Friendlyness of the staff and the facilities were great.

Review 13:The noise we heard from upstairs when the couple were getting up was terrible.

Review 14:I loved the food. How clean the rooms were, also the shower was great nice and relaxing the beer is good and the staff are polite and friendly.

Review 15:The hot water in flask at breakfast was lukewarm breakfast cold waited for toast and not all served at same time 3 had nearly finished by the time the last had come

Review 16:The room was nice , bed very comfy

Review 17:The room we first had, had a terrible smell to it. We were moved to another room on the ground floor. Everything was very loud, woke to people walking around, hearing other rooms toilets being flushed

Review 18:The staff were very friendly

Review 19:Signposting on the Wrexham bypass was confusing and indeed the sign for the turn off for Holt was missing. So not the hotel's fault but should be borne in mind by any travellers

Review 20:All of the staff were exceptionally attentive, helpful and friendly. The food was also delicious.

Review 21:Bathroom and public toilets were shabby and need a makeover. The toilet in the bedroom got blocked and the toilet in the mens was not fixed to the ground

Review 22:Decor of public areas, lounge, bar and restaurant was good

Review 23:Noise of other people banging doors during night. Being charged for a meal we didn't have because someone had used our room number, thankfully we were refunded the cost.

Review 24:The room was very nice and clean. Lounge area was very comfortable too.

Review 25:A combination of the road noise and external lights at the front of the hotel make it more difficult to sleep and woke me early.

Review 26:Convenient and friendly

Review 27:WiFi was useless at times and didn't improve much

Review 28:Very quiet area lovely to relax. A secure or covered motorbike area would be good Staff all very pleasant and friendly

Review 29:Dinner meal was less than satisfactory. Caesar salad was swimming in sauce, mushrooms were terrible and Ham was undercooked. Service was good however.

Review 30:We was let down by the room. Although clean and tidy, it was not to the same standard as the rest of the hotel and the mirror was broken so couldn't use it. Bathroom was OK but needs updating.

Review 31:The hotel is set in lovely grounds and has a great bar/dining area.the staff are really friendly.

Review 32:Rooms need a second chair pot hole at entrance definately needs filling/resurfacing, poor first impression

Review 33:Friendliness of staff location is perfect for us great food

Review 34:Shower water was only lukewarm in the evening. I am not sure if this was a one off. Also the WiFi was a bit hit and miss and slow. Kept losing connection. I had a room facing the road, and there was a bit of traffic noise. Also sound proofing of rooms wasn't great, so I could hear talking and tv noise etc. from next door. Also squeaky floorboards in room above.

Review 35:Food in restaurant. Good choice and excellent service at dinner. Room was large and clean. Bed comfortable.

Review 36:The soundproofing of this hotel needs looking at! We had ground floor rooms and could hear every tiny step that the people in the rooms above us made late at night when they came in and early the next morning when they got up. Could also clearly hear the conversations of people walking past our room doors. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable.

Review 37:The grounds are beautiful. The staff were very pleasant.

Review 38:Booked the carvery but due to a large party and some unforeseen circumstances which weren't explained we had to order off the main menu which was rather expensive and only one item I could eat with being vegetarian (hence why we booked the carvery in the first place). Didn't enjoy meal and service was poor, very cocky unhelpful waitress.

Review 39:Stayed in the executive suite which was fabulous. Hotel grounds are beautiful.

Review 40:The walls were paper-thin and I heard the person next door snoring all night. I also requested a cot as I thought we would have our child with us (we were going to a wedding), but plans changed last-minute. And even though we didn't even use it, they still charged us £5.00 a night!!!

Review 41:It had a bed

Review 42:Beds were pretty hard and room very warm. We actually realised in the morning that it was possible to open the windows wider but too late to save us from a very warm night.

Review 43:Good location for the wedding we were going to Large enough to accommodate quite a few of the party and still affordable for everybody. Friendly staff and cleaning ladies who worked full speed to get our rooms ready early so we could get changed in time.

Review 44:I noticed few cobwebs around but not too much of a concern.

Review 45:The staff were friendly and really full of life. The atmosphere is cool for events such as marriages, conference etc.

Review 46:At breakfast the tongs and lids too hot.. Should have a sign offering poached/fried eggs available ., and bigger mugs at breakfast not those tiny cups

Review 47:Lovely staff .. Especially Christine

Review 48:The staff are great. The Hotel is spotlessly clean, quiet and comfortable. The only downside might be it's 'out of town' location so there is no where in walking distance.

Review 49:Need to upgrade all beds, clean update bathroom, tiling, sealant etc..

Review 50:After given two separate rooms with low campbeds, I asked the receptionist Dawn who was great really helpful, if there were any executive rooms with better beds, she upgraded us for a small fee the room was fantastic best room we've stayed in there.

Review 51:As above.

Review 52:I found the staff incredibly helpful, pleasant and cheerful. The lodge itself however is no more than a travel lodge. Beds uncomfortable, no sound proof at all and bath didn't work. I would go again if a travel lodge was book up, only because the staff were awesome.

Review 53:When we came down for an evening meal my boyfriend had the ribs they were rock solid couldn't even cut them. We said something to the management or lady on charge that night an she offered us a free drink which we didn't find good enough. We swapped meals so my boyfriend had mine an I tried his they weren't very good.

Review 54:I liked were we stayed I liked the room

Review 55:The overcooked self service breakfast was very disappointing and sadly my first night fish main course was literally swimming in cooking oil

Review 56:The staff friendliness was outstanding and very obliging - they couldn't do enough to please

Review 57:The location is out of town so there is no where in easy walking distance so you are tied to using the hotel bar and restaurant. Great food but I felt it was just slightly overpriced when compared to in town outlets.

Review 58:Easy check in. Friendly staff and spotlessly clean rooms.

Review 59:Bed was a little stiff for my liking but that's only because I have one with an orthopaedic top to it.

Review 60:Fantastic food, spotlessly clean, friendly staff, close to the location we needed to be at.

Review 61:Unhappy with choice of food apart from fish dish. No facilities to amuse youngsters.

Review 62:The setting. Lounge to settle in was better than premier inns which had none.

Review 63:We had the suite and the bed was not good it felt lumpy!!!!!!!!!!!! The mirrors in the room needed a good clean,

Review 64:THE STAFF WERE LOVELY. FOOD GOOD but breakfast needs to be hotter and tea and coffee would be nice served at table.

Review 65:It wasn't I didn't like but the bathroom was very tired and old fashioned also there was no toilet brush would you believe

Review 66:A very pleasant short stay

Review 67:Drinks and food were a bit over priced when compared to eating "In town".

Review 68:Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The Hotel is located out of town in its own well kept gardens but there was nowhere within walking distance. We had an early start so left before breakfast but we did have an evening meal on arrival. It was very nice but a little bit overpriced.

Review 69:would have liked a cooked breakfast to be included in the price -had to pay £8 extra each thought was a bit expensive

Review 70:the hotel was set in beautiful grounds

Review 71:We had to complain that our room had not been cleaned thoroughly as we found toenail clippings from the previous occupant on the carpet around the bed.

Review 72:The room wasn't the cleanest and hasn't been looked after to its best. A missing blind, dust in places there shouldn't be like in the big wardrobe for example which doesn't help when you have black clothing! The bathroom only had 1 loo roll and I know this sounds silly but the overflow fitting is right below the tap on the bath, so when you turn the tap on the water hits it and flies everywhere! The full English breakfast felt abit cheap.

Review 73:The room was a good size, comfortable bed, big flat screen tv and the bathroom had a nice free standing bath. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Good variety at breakfast.

Review 74:Bedroom / bathroom and saturday 14th March receptionist Cleanliness of bedrooms and bathroom poor. Did not like seeing fresh bed linen stacked on hallway floor

Review 75:Bar and restaurant staff Bar and restaurant facilities good

Review 76:Paying £10 (For a non buffet breakfast ) Please just make sure the sausages are good, just buy a few options and ask your customers what they think. Shampoo pot if sharing with your

Review 77:Thought the staff where great, very patient at 2pm when not being able to get the key out of the door.

Review 78:Not down to hotel or booking arrangements but satnav said venue was onthe left - fortunately as there were two of us one was able to belooking the other way as it was on the right!!!

Review 79:Beautiful setting. Easily accessible. Plenty of Parking. Attractivebuilding inside and out. Every member of staff extremely helpful andfriendly. The most comfortable bed we've slept in for yonks! Fooddelicious.

Review 80:beds were too small for an adult and very uncomfortable. prices for food and drink were too high which made us go out to eat. They painted the banister during our visit and i got paint on my coat as the signage was poor ! our room was basic nothing else Your question 1 requires a field for work colleagues inserting

Review 81:The hotel was a nice location and the lounge/bar area was relaxing with the open fire

Review 82:WiFi in room non existent. Bathroom toilet seat cover needs attention liable to drop down unexpectedly. Bathroom door needs attention requires slamming to close.

Review 83:Position regarding purpose of visit

Review 84:Although overall clean I did have to point out that the decorative cushions on the bed smelled bad, as if someone with dirty hair had been lying their head on them. A couple of cobwebs - one right over the bed and some under the sink area in the bathroom.

Review 85:Very comfy bed. Nice big bath and good shower. Good storage for clothes. Very quiet.

Review 86:Although room was clean we felt it needed updating particularly the en suite. Bathroom tiles need re-grouting and sealant needs replacing. Although I must stress this wasn't so bad that it needed complaining about. A little TLC needed.

Review 87:Reception and bar staff where very welcoming and helpful. Food was good Breakfast was amazing Room clean

Review 88:Thin walls to bedrooms Dated decor in bedrooms- fine for a stopover though

Review 89:Location Restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas Good value for money Effective heating Plenty of parking

Review 90:No money box when buying sweets from the hospice tray

Review 91:The staff were a breath of fresh air compared to many hotels/lodges I have stayed at, you can not buy politeness or hospitality; thanks to all the ladies and gents. Great location away from the town but seconds away from the main roads in to wrexham area.

Review 92:Room needed updating especially the bathroom. It was like staying in a prefab I felt. It lacked any warmth or character the second you left tbe main area.

Review 93:Friendly staff

Review 94:The bathroom was dated and taps n fixtures were going rusty. When I checked in reception had my card details for the payment for the room. I was told no money would be taken until the following morning. The money went straight out of my account n they took it again the next morning with my food bill. So had to wait for the bank to sort it out when home. But other Than that it was fine.

Review 95:The hotel was good for the price £59 a night without breakfast. The bed was comfy and the room had everything we needed. Friendly staff and food was good.

Review 96:The bar menu was limited to the main restaurant menu. A more related "Bar" menu with more snack type items would be appreciated.

Review 97:The staff were excellent with very efficient service and attention. The room was comfortable and relaxing The food was excellent

Review 98:Nothing

Review 99:I have now stayed at Holt lodge on 3 occasions. The first being when visiting a relative in Wrexham Hospital. I was so impressed by the friendliness and professionalism of all the staff that I have been back to stay along with my wife whenever I visit family in the area. The food is of a very high standard, the Bar has a excellent stock and the staff will certainly make sure that your stay is very pleasant. I would certainly recommend a stay at Holt Lodge to anyone visiting the area.

Review 100:The place was great as i was there for my dads funeral so the staff were very understanding and i had no complaints about room our food it was hot and filling after a bad event i would stay again an hope i get the same welcome. The rooms could have more milk in them as they run out if you need a drink in the night.

Review 101:The breakfast prices were a little too expensive so we went for room only and went out for breakfast instead.

Review 102:I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff were fantastic, so friendly and helpful. The room and facilities were lovely and location for us was just perfect! We had an evening meal one night and it was a carvery. It was gorgeous.

Review 103:Old fashioned room decor Needs modernising No discount for block booking Over-priced Messed up one of our groups booking, no apology.

Review 104:good breakfast

Review 105:the room needs updating the carpet is worn & dirty, the ensuite was dirty the grouting really bad, the shower was cold it needs loads of money spending on the ensuite, the internet was not working. we had about an hours sleep there were guests running up & down the corridoor outside our room shouting & knocking on doors this went on for hours, it was awfull!

Review 106:the breakfast was ok

Review 107:The bathroom although clean was in need of a refurbishment.exposed pipework under the sink and a shabby bath panel with dodgy repairs.

Review 108:Clean room, good meals friendly and courteous staff.

Review 109:My room smelt a bit of smoke, and when I opened the window it smelt too much of petrol/diesel outside to keep it open.

Review 110:Staff were very friendly and food was good. Easy to book. reasonably priced.

Review 111:The beds were hard and uncomfortable. The skirting boards were thick with dust and there was a dead spider in the kettle.

Review 112:Nice gardens and a quiet location.

Review 113:Would have paid a little extra if they had a steam/sauna room. just a great add-on to someones stay. Rooms need a little updating and the beds a far to small even for two people? my wives a size 8 and I'm only a 34inc waist so where not big people.

Review 114:Staff where great. Food was even better? all in all a great place to stop over. Good value.

Review 115:The conference facilities especially equipment were somewhat dated. The wifi which was essential to the effective running of the conference was poor. A particular item had to be abandoned because the Internet service was so inadequate. Some confusion about what was and was not included in the conference package.

Review 116:Food, room, friendly and very helpful staff..excellent value for money.

Review 117:Although the hotel advertised that wi-fi was available throughout, wi-fi had not been working for a number of months.

Review 118:Stayed in the Executive Suite. Absolutely stunning room. Restaurant food and bar service excellent and all in a wonderful setting.

Review 119:I can highly recommend this hotel the staff can not be any more helpful the atmosphere and service is excellent as is the breakfast. And if you want to have an evening meal in you couldn't ask for better. I have stopped at many so called 5 star hotels that don't come close to this.

Review 120:I have stayed in the hotel before. With family living nearby. The food served in the restaurant is excellent. The vehicle parking is ample. The staff made our short stay enjoyable. Value for money.

Review 121:Wifi was intermittent. Was charged twice even though I had shown the receptionist that the money had been taken from my account. Continental breakfast was not available

Review 122:How quiet it was considering it is on a busy road

Review 123:The bed was a bit soft for my liking. I have back problems and prefer a firm mattress. Also, we had noisy people having a loud discussion outside our room after midnight. Not your problem I realise, just their lack of consideration. Also, there is a lot of footstep noise from the floor above, which prevented me from sleeping for a while.

Review 124:Chris on reception was most helpful and pleasant. Our room was quiet, facing away from the road

Review 125:Rooms are starting to look jaded and in need of a good makeover. Compared to recent stays at Devere and Travelodge hotels prices are expensive as they don't include breakfast.

Review 126:Friendliness of the staff. Location. Lounge area.

Review 127:Bed mattress had more movement than a bouncy castle. Bathroom could use a decorator's input. Very noisy outside, with empties (bottles) being discarded, lots of banging and running of water / boilers / washing machines?...never did find out. A lousy sleep was the result.

Review 128:Excellent staff, very friendly , very helpful. Location and gardens make this a nice place to stay. Decent breakfast and evening meal at a reasonable price. Relaxing and peaceful.......except at night when trying to sleep. Don't have room 218.

Review 129:Breakfast was not included in the price. £10.00 extra is a bit extreme...

Review 130:Could not fault the rooms. Staff very friendly and helpful. The food served was tasty and reasonably priced.

Review 131:Rooms need modernisation and new furnishings. Bed very small. No glasses or water and the coffee/tea cups didn't match. Shower area had not been cleaned properly. Floor boards upstairs very creaky and no sound proofing. We were woken up early hours every morning by people arriving/leaving. Not sure if these people were tourists or actually workers at the nearby industrial estate.

Review 132:Good location. Staff friendly. Parking good.

Review 133:We have no complaints really, only that the whole hotel was slightly tired looking but for the price paid it was excellent value.

Review 134:The staff were very helpful and as we had been travelling overnight gave us our room early which was very much appreciated.

Review 135:slow service in restaurant some of the time.even though it wasnt busy, really poor wifi, could only use in proximity of the bar. poor insulation in room ,lots of noise from above

Review 136:receptionists brilliant , all other staff helpfull and polite, food ok , quite pricey though

Review 137:A bit of long walk from reception to our room, and no lift. Wi-fi signal was not very good, except near reception.

Review 138:A very convenient stop on our journey from Holyhead to Berkshire. Very nice dinner and plentiful breakfast. We felt well rested to continue our journey.

Review 139:Breakfast, two poached eggs served on cold plate, too chilled to eat, instant coffee, water too cold to make good tea. Room floors noises, loose boarding. Fan provided with broken control and no safety guard, fire doors on top of stairs wedged open, had to close it several times. Hot water failed, told to wait until other guest turned a tap off 20minutes wait. Over priced hotel. Avoid.

Review 140:Staff very friendly. Pleasant garden

Review 141:The Stairs and a very, very Low toilet in our room, It was nearly on the floor.I am disabled and had to pull onto door handle to get off the seat.

Review 142:. Disabled next to the door. The staff very helpful.
