Reviews for Au Valéry
Review 1:Modern appearance in the foyer but rooms were dated.
Review 2:Location to the train station was my deciding factor in choosing Au Valery. A quiet location not too far from the centre of town. Also one of the best restaurants in Sete I'd just around the corner.
Review 3:Breakfast a bit pricey (6,50€) but maybe good value - we didn't get it.
Review 4:Very clean, affordable and helpful staff. Conveniently located near the train station. Would definitely recommend!
Review 5:Little bit noisy area during the day due to the fact that it was close to a main road and the fact that most of the TV channels were in French.
Review 6:Staff was really helpful, multilingual and friendly.for our first time travelling to south of france they were giving us tips and hints how to make the most of our holiday. A little bit far away from the main beach however if you travel by car is good location. Close to good restaurants and market and the boats for a chanel trip.
Review 7:Quite a long walk to center of town. Not much open nearby on weekend. No lift.
Review 8:Breakfast was good and staff friendly. Rooms basic and small but good value. Some bright renovations are underway and look good.
Review 9:Very nice and happy hosts! The hotel is easy to reach from the train station and the distance to the city center is a few minutes. The walk there is very nice so you don't mind that it takes a few minutes. Many rooms were just newly rebuilt when we came so everything was really clean and up to date.
Review 10:Lack of dining options close by, bathroom was dirty, mattress sunk in, WiFi didn't work for 2 of 3 days we were there and building was run down (paint peeling, dark hallways, etc).
Review 11:I liked that it was across the street from the train station, but it was far from everything else! Full-dining restaurants were scarce and only bakeries, beverage and ice cream spots in vicinity.
Review 12:The hotel is under renovations and never mentioned that. At the momentthere is no reception or breakfast room - just a noisy little room nearthe reception counter. We decided not to take breakfast there. No lift.We followed a sign on the entrance to go up the stairs and there ayoung man welcomed us. He hever apologized for the renovationsinconvenience. The corridors are very dusty and our batroom is verydated and needed a good scrub. The price nevertheless was the normalprice for a quadruple room.
Review 13:The location is good, you can walk to downtown and we could find a placeon the hotel street for the car.
Review 14:toilets behind plastic folding screen-not enough privacy and room
Review 15:Warm greeting; hotel being decorated but with personality (seascapes, &c). Good room, comfortable bed. Near station and a near to the different marinas.
Review 16:The bathroom had a really moldy smell / no ventilation and was not the cleanest. There was a bit chaos due to big refurbishments - I guess after finishing this everything will be 100% ok for the price.
Review 17:The hosts are very helpful and friendly, the location is perfect (close to station and town center), the room was not small for the price.
Review 18:All okay
Review 19:Was very difficult to find Enver with the GPS
Review 20:The manager was very helpful
Review 21:Everything was great!
Review 22:Very friendly staff! For the really fair price an unexceptional clean and comfortable accomodation with everything needed in it!
Review 23:Nothing.
Review 24:Service was fantastic, multilingual and friendly. The room was spotless, newly and tastefully renovated. Good location
Review 25:It's under renovation and unfortunately the room is full of dusts. The toilet flush is old fashioned. The curtain is nearly transparent... Mosquitoes is found ...
Review 26:The location is excellent. It's less than 5-mins walking from the SNCF train station. The hosts are very nice ! Really thanks.
Review 27:Room and bedding smelled of smoke. Vinyl floor in room dirty (possibly due to building work going on)
Review 28:Location close to station. Quiet. Staff were really really pleasant. Reasonable value. Room and facilities were what you would expect at this price.
Review 29:In the bathroom was some tube problem (smell), hopefully it is fixed!
Review 30:The staff was really kind and friendly. Brakfast was served to table! Air-conditioning
Review 31:Place is close to railway station, but a little far from centre and the beaches are on the other side of the city. Although place was nice and confortable.
Review 32:The room was as charming as it could possibly be, given its size -- besure to ask for a room with a balcony! -- but it is very basic, with a"broyeur" rather close to the head of the bead. Moreover,it's two flights up from the ground floor, no elevator. (Some roomsmay be three flights up.) It was perfectly fine for a couple of nights, however, and we would definitely return.
Review 33:Romain, the manager of Au Valéry provides 5-star service, a rarity for a1-star hotel! Before our arrival I asked for a recommendation for anearby restaurant, and (at my request) he made the reservation himself.(The restaurant, l'Isola Bella, was superb, and only "deuxpas" from the hotel.) Then for lunch the next day he took the timeto write down five suggestions on the map, with each location marked. Inaddition, Romain stored our large suitcases on the ground floor, andcarried up our hand luggage for us to the reception area, without beingasked. He is "formidable"!If you're coming by train, the location of the hotel can't be beat -- just 3 minutes' walk over the bridge. From the hotel it's a short walk in the other direction to "centre ville."
Review 34:the toilet had a flimsy door just next to the head of one of the beds and the plumbing was a bit shifty.
Review 35:the staff were friendly and helpful, the location was not noisy and very close to the train station
Review 36:Nothing much.
Review 37:Nice and close to the station. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and bright room.
Review 38:The parking wasn't completed and had to move cement bags, however we had to pay for it.
Review 39:The staff were lovely
Review 40:Friendly and comfortable for the price/class of accommodation. Quaint decor and nice bedding. Right near the Sete weekly market.
Review 41:The staff were so friendly and helpful.
Review 42:Nice people.
Review 43:Shower was pretty rinkadink, lights in the hall were always off
Review 44:Close to train station, good rate, clean, good overall location
Review 45:location and friendly staff
Review 46:staff very friendly and helpful
Review 47:The room didn't have any outside view
Review 48:The staff were very helpfull
Review 49:Welcoming hosts, nice clean room, just right for our short stay, close to railway station, 15 minute bus ride to beaches if you want them.
Review 50:A little bit rundown, and cardboard walls.
Review 51:Very good location near the station.
